( Light's P.O.V. )

   " You really like that human girl don't you? "

   " I do, but she doesn't know yet. "

   " Oh, this will be good. "

   " What? "

   " Light Yagami disobeys the law on killing and yet he is afraid of a little girl rejecting him. "

   " Don't call her that! I like her because she stands tall and doesn't let people bring her down. She is smarter than all the other girls and she just...she's just perfect. She is the very definition of a goddess. "

   " Wow. I don't think I've heard anything so sweet. I want to vomit. "

   " Go grab an apple instead. There is a basket full right there. "

   " Gladly. "

I got out my Death note and started writing names in it. I turned my small TV on and listened to the news as I wrote.

   " There was more violence across the city today. Another stabbing, this time at a restaurant in Kabukicho, Shinjuku following-"

   " Hey, Light. I'm talking to you."

   " What is it? "

   " Why are you working so hard? "

   " I can't afford to waste any time. I have a very small window to write names in this notebook. I only have from when I get home from school until I go to bed. I still need to sleep so I can maintain my average and stay at the top of my class. Obviously I can't be sleeping in class. Plus theirs all the studying at home and at cram school. I can't let myself get too tired. It'll start to affect my health and mental performance. If I'm serious about trying to create an ideal world that's free from evil then I need to make the most of my time."

   " Hey, Light what's going on why's your door locked? "

   " It's Sayu? What is it? "

   " Y/n is here and she is waiting downstairs. I just thought I'd let you know. "

   " Okay. "

( Your P.O.V. )

   " I'm fine Mrs. Yagami. Thank you though. "

   " If there is anything you need please come and ask. "

   " I will thank you. "

Mrs. Yagami left and walked back to the kitchen. I heard footsteps come down the stairs and I looked up at them. I saw Light standing on the stairs. I smiled up at him. 

   " Hey, Light ready to study? "

   " Yes, come on up. "

   " Thanks for helping me by the way. "

   " Anything for you Y/n. "

We walked up to his room and we started studying for the math exam. I asked him questions here and there and he would help me work out problems that were difficult. We were in the middle of a discussion when I saw him pull out a black notebook from his desk.

   " I didn't know you got a new notebook. "

   " Oh, I thought you weren't paying attention. "

   " I always pay attention, Light. You should know this. When did you get it? "

   " I found it on the ground a few days ago. I was going to look for a person's name in it. "

   " Want me to look? "

   " No, I got it. You study. "

Light, was on his computer looking up stuff when a screen popped up.

   " What is that? "

The website looked like a heart with wings. It was all in a dark color. It said ' The legend of Kira the savior. ' 

   " Looks like I was right. There is a person behind this. "

   " Looks like it. They're calling the person Kira. "

   " Hmm. Weird. "

The screen changed on the small TV to a news broadcast. Light stood beside me and held his notebook as the channel changed.

   " We would like to apologize for the interruption as of now we are bringing you a live worldwide broadcast from the ICPO.  "

   " What's this? "

   " Interpol? "

The screen changed and a man with long black hair was standing behind a desk. He looked serious and mean.

   " I am part of the international police task force which includes all member nations. I am Lind L. Taylor. Otherwise known as L. "

   " What? Who is this guy?" Light whispered.

   " Criminals around the world are being murdered by a serial killer. I consider this crime to be the most atrocious act of murder in history. I will not rest until the person or persons responsible are brought to justice. Kira, I will hunt you down. I will find you. "

   " The fool. He'll never find me. "

   " What did you say Light? "

   " Nothing. "

   " Kira I have a good idea of what your motivation might be and I can guess what you hope to achieve. However, what're doing right now is evil. "

I could see Light flinch and his aura became dark. I watched him as he stared at the screen. He stared at it with malice and evil. 

   " What in the world is going on? "

I looked back at the screen not noticing Light write down the man's name. With a crazed smile. Then in seconds the man clutched his chest and cried in agony he fell on the desk and died. I watched the TV as it continued and felt shocked. I couldn't pay attention to anything but the TV. Then it changed to an L. Then a voice spoke.

   "I had to test this just in case but I-I never thought it would actually happen. Kira, it seems you can kill people without having to be there in person. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't just witnessed it. Listen to me, Kira. If you did indeed kill Lind L. Taylor, the man who you just saw die on television I should tell you that he was an inmate whose execution was scheduled for today. That was not me. "

   " What? " I heard Light yell.

   " The police arrested him in absolute secrecy so you wouldn't have heard about him on TV or through the internet. It appears not even you have access to information about these types of criminals. But I assure you L is real! I do exist! Now, try to kill me! "

   " What? " I screamed.

L teased Kira to kill him but he didn't die.

   " What's the matter can't you do it? Well, Kira, it seems you can't kill me after all. So, there are some people you can't kill. You've given me a useful hint. Let me return the favor. I'll tell you something I think you'll find interesting. Although this was announced as a worldwide broadcast the truth is we are only broadcasting in the Kanto region of Japan. I had planned to broadcast this message around the world until we found you, but it looks like that won't be necessary. I now know where you are. The police treated your first killing as an unrelated incident but in actuality, the first of your victims was a suspect in Shinjuku.  Of all the criminals who have recently died of heart attacks, this one's crime was by far the least serious. "

   " I didn't even hear about that. It was at night when it happened right? "

I looked back at Light but he seemed stunned to the spot. I let my attention go back to the screen as L continued talking. 

   " Furthermore his crime was only ever reported inside Japan. I used that information to deduce this much. You are in Japan and your first victim was a little more like an experiment which means that you haven't been killing for very long. We decided to broadcast in Kanto first because of the large population and luckily we found you. To be completely honest with you I never expected that things would go this well. But it won't be too long now before I am able to sentence you to death. "

   " What the heck? "

   " Naturally I am very interested to know how you commit these murders without being present. But I don't mind waiting a little bit longer. You can answer all of my questions when I catch you. Let's meet again soon, Kira. "

Then the TV went to static.

   " I will hunt you down wherever you're hiding and I will eliminate you! I am justice. "

( Your P.O.V. )

   ' All I want is to pass my exams. Now it's Kira vs. L. Who will die and who will be victorious. '
