Chapter 4 - Bullshit
The next morning, Michael came up to me at my locker. He surprised me by coming up behind me and putting his hands on my waist. I jumped, not knowing it was him.
"Sorry.. Hey Bree," he smiled.
"Hey asshole," I joked.
"Well that's not nice."
"But I'm not nice, am I?"
"You're definitely nice," he smirked.
"What's this about?"
"I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out with me and the boys this afternoon. We have practice at Ash's, but you know that's never always practice."
"That's true. I've got to tell my mum first because she talked to me last night about not asking her."
"Okay. I'll see you period three," he walked away.
I got my phone out and texted my mum quickly. I hid my phone in my locker as I texted or a teacher would see and take my phone away. She replied almost immediately.
"That's fine, but Marissa has dance at 5!"
"I'll just take her, then we'll leave from there."
"Does she have her stuff?"
"She always does, mum. She has dance period six today as well." At our school, you could take dance instead of a gym class. She was so lucky. I couldn't stand gym. "It isn't that hard!!" Yeah, right, Mr. Johns..
"Okay. Thanks:)"
"You're welcome. Bye." I put my phone on airplane mode so my phone wouldn't go off during class like some people's do.

That afternoon, Michael drove to Ashton's house, and I drove my car with Marissa beside me. I always loved going to practice with Michael. It was always so fun. The four boys were hilarious.
When we got there, Ashton had just gotten home from his school. We all walked in and Ashton greeted Marissa. They had never met before.
"How have you guys never met? Have you even met Luke or Calum?" I asked Marissa.
"I've seen them in the hallways," she shrugged.
"Oh my god! These three are my best friends! Along with Michael, of course," I laughed.
"Obviously," Marissa scoffed under her breath.
"What was that about?" I put my hand on my hip and gave her sass, "You are younger than me, and I control whether you go to dance tonight or not."
"No!" She stopped herself.
"Then don't," I warned, staring her right in the eyes. I then turned away and she muttered, "It's just that you guys are always making out.."
"Marissa Jane, you better stop it right now!" I raised my hands in frustration.
"What about it? It's true. It's not anything Michael doesn't know," she looked straight at me.
"Yeah, but I didn't know," Ashton pointed out, "Are you guys, like, friends with benefits or something?"
"Can I, like, leave.. now?" I asked, not wanting anyone to know, especially Marissa. We might be really close and friends, but we're still siblings, and she could tell mum and dad.
"If you want to, yes.. But please," Michael begged, "stay."
"Fine. I'll stay. But just as long as I don't hear anymore bullshit from you," I pointed at Marissa.
Luke and Calum arrived a few minutes later. I was still pissed at Marissa. She met Calum first, then Luke. She seemed to like Luke.
"So, uh, you like Luke, huh?" I asked her once they left for downstairs.
"He's nice, yeah. Pretty cute as well," she smiled.
"Hmm.. Okay," I nodded, not sure if I was okay with that. My little sister likes Luke? I shouldn't have a problem with that. For some reason, I did. It's not that I like Luke or that I don't like him. I think it's just her liking someone in general. Maybe it's because she likes the guy I like's best friend..
