Chapter 19 - Four Cliffords

Michael, Aubree, and I arrived at his house soon after we left mine since my house is only minutes away from his. We walked in with Aubree, and Karen ran over to us.She went to hug Michael, but pulled away.

She began, "wha-"

"Mum.." Michael started but was cut off by Karen.

"A baby carrier?" She asked, and Michael nodded, starting to turn it around towards Karen, but she looked up at us.

"What's going on?" She was confused.

"Mum, look down," he told her, and when she looked down, she saw Aubree there. Her mouth flung open. Daryl then joined us.

"Michael.." He looked down at Aubree.

Michael handed the baby carrier to me so he could pick Aubree up out of it. He held the sleeping Aubree in his arms securely and turned to his parents.

"Mum.. Dad.. Meet Aubree Hope Clifford," he smiled at them. They were still speechless.

Setting the baby carrier on the floor, I put my arms around Michael's waist, beginning to explain to his parents.

"I didn't get a bump.." I started, "I was carrying further back."

"And we weren't dating," I decided to add after another minute of silence.

"I thought you were.." Karen finally spoke.

"We were.." I hesitated, "friends with benefits." Michael had told my parents and it was easier for me, so I made it easier for him and told his parents.

"Friends with benefits? You mean only friends for sex?" Daryl asked.

"No, well, yes, but we were friends for other reasons too," I was finding it hard to explain, and Michael wasn't helping much either.

Aubree began to wake up, and we all watched her intently. She woke up and started crying. Michael handed her to me so I could feed her, which was most likely what she wanted.

We all made our way into the living room and I began to feed Aubree. Michael was finally talking and helping me explain.

"So you two aren't dating but you have a baby?" Karen asked, "that's crazy."

"Well, we weren't dating, but now we are," Michael looked at me and we pecked each other's lips.

"Michael.." His dad said, "we are really disappointed in you."

"I'm sorry," Michael apologized.

"It's fine, it's just that you're a little young, don't you think? You might need some help."

"Yeah, most likely. Especially when Michael's away on tour and I'm at school," I explained. They understood.

"We'll babysit for you. Not all of the time, but sometimes."

"Thanks," I mumbled, looking down at Aubree.

"So when was she born?" They asked.

"Yesterday morning, two forty-seven."

"So she's only a little over a day old.. Wow. Can I hold her, you know, after she's done?" Karen asked.

"Of course," I smiled, then looked down at Aubree again.

I handed Aubree to Karen, and she smiled down at her. Aubree giggled a little, making all of us smile. I really loved it when she giggled.

I got a notification from Twitter. Michael just tweeted something, so how did I know see him? I pushed that aside and looked at the tweet.

"@Michael5sos: Now taking suggestions on what color I should dye Aubree's hair... lol (@Bree5sos)"

"No," I looked at him. He laughed, "I know."

"You're crazy if you thought I'd let you do that," I chuckled a little myself.

"Do what?" Daryl asked.

"Dye Aubree's hair.." Michael admitted. We all laughed at him.

"I'm serious," he told me. I knew he was joking.

"Michael Gordon Clifford there is no way you are ever dying our daughter's hair!" I exclaimed at him.

"Sorry.." He pouted. I just kept on laughing at him. I had no idea what was wrong with my boyfriend, but I didn't mind. I actually liked it.
