Chapter 14 - A Real Baby
"Bree?" I looked at the baby, then her.
"Yeah?"
"This is a real baby.."
"Our baby," she smiled at me, pushing the baby closer to me, making sure I was holding her right.
"I named her Aubree. Since that's what you had decided for our project, I thought you must like the name," Bree messed with the blanket.
"She looks like me," I smiled at Aubree.
"She does," Bree agreed.
"You weren't pregnant, though," I looked at her.
"Well..."

Flashback~
*Bree's POV* (the night before)
"You want to know if you're pregnant?" the nurse asked as I got a scan.
"Yeah. I've been having symptoms lately," I told her.
"Well you're definitely pregnant, 38 and a half weeks," she specified.
"What!?" I was surprised.
"You're carrying farther back, so the baby isn't very noticeable. It's actually quite common."
"Oh. So I'm almost due?" I panicked
"According to the baby's position, I'd say that you might go into labor today," she informed me.
"Really?" I got even more worried. How would my mum react?
"Yes, you could go into labor very soon."
"Oh my god."
------
"It's a girl!" The doctor exclaimed at two-forty-seven in the morning. He placed her on the blanket over my stomach. I couldn't believe what was happening. I was a mum now.. And Michael was a dad. My siblings were aunts or uncles, and my parents -along with Michael's parents- were grandparents.
I smiled down at the baby they had placed in my arms. "Aubree.." I whispered. She looked so much like Michael. I couldn't wait to tell him.
~Flashback Over~
"So.. What you're saying is.." He paused, "You went to the doctor's yesterday evening to see if you were pregnant and found out you were thirty-eight weeks? Oh my god," he hugged me with his one arm, holding Aubree with the other. He pulled away, and she began crying.
"Good thing we had practice last week," Michael laughed.
"Yeah," I agreed.
He bounced her around a little bit. We took her back into the spare room beside my room where I had set up the playpen again until we bought a crib for her. She soon fell asleep.
"I love watching her sleep," he smiled at me.
"Me too... She sleeps just like you."
"What do you mean she sleeps just like me?"
"She sleeps just like you; on her back, hands on top of her, head tilted to one side. Don't you see it?"
"Now that you say it, I do see it," he chuckled.
"It's adorable," I grinned.
"I know," he agreed.
"BREE!!?" I heard from downstairs. It was Isaac. We were going to have to explain everything to him..

I'm really sorry that it's so short.. I promise the next few will be longer:)
