'I'm sweating. I'm too afraid to open the mail the company sent me. What if I don't get in? Agh my heart's beating so fast I can bearly hear the thoughts in my head. Slowly, I opened the mail, carefully reading until .... I got in! This is the most exciting feeling ever!'

'I'm officially a trainee under SM entertainment.'

"Hello, I'm 18 years old, Korean-Canadia , Vicky Kim." she re-watched her audition tape with joy and excitement while sitting on the plane looking down. The feeling of moving to another country on her own to persuade her dream on becoming a Kpop idol is truly more thrilling than ever.

Just as she walked into the SM building with her suitcases, Vicky bumped into an unexpected someone.

"Ouch!" she grunted. Slipping and falling on to the ground.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! Uhm are you ok?" the boy said worriedly.

"I'm fine..thank you very m..." she looked up, and saw a really familliar face.

"Vicky?!" he said.

"Mark?" she was so suprised.

"Dude what are you doing here? At sm? What happened?" he asked, furrowing his brows.

"Guess i'm a trainee here now" Julia said, smilling trying to stand up straight.

"I can't believe it! I haven't seen you in so long!" Mark exclaimed.

Vicky's pov

I was born in the beautiful city of Vancouver to my Korean parents. We lived in a peaceful town close to our neighbours. Mark was one of them. We knew each other ever since we were little kids. Everyday after school I would always hang out with him. We rode bikes around the town, climb trees, went into the forest,... my childhood was perfect, at least with him.

But, when I was 11, he had to go to Korea. I really didn't know why, he never told us. After he left, I was alone. I made some friends afterwards but no one really gave me the joy the same way he did.

Mark would visit Canada every once in a while, we would meet up and hang out for a bit before he had to go back to Seoul. And as time flies, I never got to see him again. We stopped texting somehow, and, I went back to my ordinary life, without him.

I started getting into K-pop when a friend of mine took us to a Red Velvet concert back when we were 14. I loved it. I loved them. I loved the feeling of being on stage, singing your heart out with your fans. I wanted that. So I took vocal lessons and auditioned for multiple companies. One time, two times, three times,... I can't recall how many times I've press send on my audition tape. So, getting into SM is already a dream come true.

After I got invested in K-pop, I noticed an idol, Canadian, 19 years old, exactly 3 years older than me. His name? Mark Lee. Is that him? It's him. I can't believe it. The boy who was my childhood best friend is now a famous and talented K-pop idol?

"So..we finally meet again." Vicky said.

"Yeah, it's been sooo long. And I'm sorry I never told you about me getting into the K-pop industry. Considering we were close friends, I feel like I should've told you that." Mark said, looking down.

"Oh it's okay, I understand why you can't tell anybody that, now that I'm kinda like you.." she replied softly.

"Thank you for understanding, appreciate it." he said with a smile on his face. Oh how she has missed his smile, as bright as a sunny sky.

Silence surrounded the two of them.

"Uhm well I should get going now, got all these bags on my hand." she broke the silence.
"Oh do you need a hand?" he asked, literally giving his hand to her.

"Thanks but I'm good, plus, I don't want you to be seen walking around with a trainee." she refused his help.
"Good point. Well uh I gotta go now, hope to see you round." he said, waiving his hand at her.

Vicky gathered her baggage and searched for the trainees' dormitory.
