Dinner
Bakugou missed the warmth of Kirishima when he woke up. He usually rose with the sun, and today was no different. He'd wait a few hours before he started to make breakfast, since Kirishima did like to sleep in.
Bakugou sat up and looked over at the boy. He was smiling in his sleep, from some sort of dream, and that alone made Bakugou's scowl go away for a while. The blonde knew he'd follow this boy to the ends of the earth if he asked him to.
He started to dream about what their life would be like when Bakugou confessed. Of course, he knew he was going to win so Kirishima had to say yes. However, this situation was more difficult than others Bakugou had faced because of the fact that it involved Kirishima. Bakugou wanted to win, and he had confidence, but Kirishima could say no, and then he could lose one of the most important things in his life.
He didn't want to think that way, but a strange realistic side of him was punching him in the face, wanting him to back down. He shook his head. The next big step was to figure out how to do it.
Of course, the rest of the friend group knew about Bakugou's crush on Kirishima. And they also knew about Kirishima's crush on Bakugou. However they were sworn to secrecy by both, and could never help much except for making the boys share a couch on movie night or having them share a bed when visiting somebody's house.
Time had passed while Bakugou was lost on his thoughts, so he decided to get up and start breakfast for his Kirishima. The red head wouldn't be up for at least thirty minutes, so it gave the blonde sometime to plan what they would eat and make it well.
When Kirishima did wake up, he was greeted by the smell of breakfast and then by the sight of it sitting nicely on the table. He hobbled over to the table, only using one of his crutches, and sat down happily.
"Thanks, Bakubro! This looks great!"
Bakugou rolled his eyes and took a bite of his own food to hide the light pink that accented his cheeks.
Kirishima finished his food after Bakugou and tried to take both of their plates. Bakugou gently shoved Kirishima back into his seat and took both of the plates from the red head.
"I'm not useless, yknow," Kirishima said in a more serious tone.
"Why the hell would I think you're useless, sh*tty hair? I'm just taking the plates because you don't have two hands to carry them with."
This seemed to satisfy Kirishima, but he was still unsure. He felt useless and like a burden on Bakugou. He needed to find a way to make it up to his friend so that he didn't hate him.
"The old hag wants us there a few hours before. I think we leave at 3:30."
Kirishima nodded. The Bakugou family lived in a different city, and it didn't make sense to try and drive through two cities in a car. They would take the train and walk the few blocks it took to get to Bakugou's old house. It would save them money too. The only downside would be Kirishima walking with crutches, but a few blocks wouldn't hurt him.
They planned to bring nothing but themselves, but Kirishima urged Bakugou to take his suit in case there was some emergency and he was needed.
"I can't fight right now, but you can. So if you could just bring the costume, it's better to be safe than sorry anyways," Kirishima said as he sat on the couch, watching Bakugou.
With a scowl the blonde shoved his hero costume into a backpack, along with his wallet and Kirishima's wallet. He brought some pain killers just in case too.
The pair also got dressed and Bakugou stared in awe at Kirishima's outfit. He wore a button up and some nice dress pants, but the button up wasn't buttoned all the way, and it allowed for the top of his chest to be shown. It took every form of self control in Bakugou's body to not look at the red head and kiss him right then and there.
The day had gone by quickly, and the two headed to the train station that was one street away from their apartment complex. Kirishima kept pace with Bakugou, who was going his regular speed. The red head tried to make jokes and lighten the mood, but Bakugou was genuinely happy as long as he had the ginger by his side.
Bakugou tapped his card first, passing through the turning gates and holding out a hand for Kirishima. The red head took his friends hand before swiping his own card. It took a second for Kirishima to regain balance, and Bakugou almost had to catch him from falling at one point.
The two waited for about ten minutes until their train showed up. As the entered the train car, they noticed that it was a little more full that usual. They were able to get two seats next to each other, thankfully.
"So, which station do we get off at?" Kirishima asked as he looked at the schedule next to him on the wall.
"Esuha," Bakugou replied. "We should get there in forty five minutes."
A special talent that Kirishima had was falling asleep anywhere at anytime. Within five minutes, he had passed out and was using Bakugou as a cushion, which was fine with him. Surprisingly, Kirishima even wrapped his arms around Bakugou's, holding him as a support.
Bakugou noticed a girl staring at the two of them. His first thought was that this was a homophobe, even though the two boys weren't dating. He was gonna say something but the girl stopped and went onto her phone before she left at the next stop.
Bakugou entertainer himself on his phone for the next forty minutes. It was hard to control his sweat, as he got nervous and therefore more sweaty when the redhead was affectionate towards him. He often wiped his hands on his jeans to stop any small explosions from happening. In fact, at school, the class or teacher would purposely pair Kirishima and Bakugou up, noticing the blonde produced bigger explosions when with the red head.
After a while, he started to get bored and sighed. He glanced at the schedule and gently nudged Kirishima.
"Sh*tty hair," he whispered. "Wake up."
Kirishima's eyes opened slightly, and he smiled at the blonde before mumbling something. Bakugou couldn't hear what he said, but he raised an eyebrow as the red head's eyes grew wide.
"Nothing!" Kirishima sat up quickly. Even though he was now awake, he didn't release Bakugou's arm.
"We'll be at our stop in ten minutes."
Kirishima relaxed and rested his head on Bakugou's shoulder again. The blonde was glad the red head wasn't looking at him, because he wore a blush more pink than he had in a long time.
When their stop came, Bakugou quickly supported Kirishima and made sure they both got off of the train together. The exited the station and took the short, three block walk to Bakugou's parents' house.
They both entered, knowing it was what they were expected to do. Bakugou took his shoes off quickly and went to help a struggling Kirishima when his parents walked into the living room.
"Katsuki Bakugou, you help Eijiro right now!" His mother yelled at him.
The blonde almost dodged the slap she aimed at his head. "I'm working on it, old hag!" He yelled back.
Bakugou supported Kirishima's weight while he got his shoes off and then gave the red head his crutches back. They were invited to be seated as Masaru brought them some water.
"Thanks so much for inviting us over, Mrs. Bakugou!" Kirishima flashed the blinding smile.
"How many times do I have to tell you, Mitsuki is fine. You're too sweet of a boy, especially to be hanging out with Katsuki."
"Nah! He's a really sweet and kind guy!" Kirishima smiled again.
Bakugou pretended to be disgusted as his parents caught up with Kirishima.
"We were really worried when we saw the news story. And then Katsuki didn't pick up his phone for two days. We almost went to the hospital to see you, Eijiro." Masaru said.
"Oh, I was out in the hospital for a few days, and Baku didn't leave or let me have any visitors. I'm sorry for worrying you."
"Like hell you're not. Thank you for saving Katsuki. I don't know what the hell we'd do if we lost him."
Kirishima smiled and took a sip of his water. Bakugou and Mitsuki headed to the kitchen to finish dinner while they're respective boys admired them from afar.
Kirishima got bored and eventually Masaru showed him a family photo album, filled with baby Bakugou. Kirishima giggled and smiled brightly as he took pictures and sent them to the friend group chat.
"He was so angry even as a baby!" Kirishima laughed.
The commotion had caught the attention of the chefs, and both mother and son left to see what was happening. When Bakugou saw that the cause of Kirishima's gorgeous laugh was his baby pictures, he grabbed the red head's head and set off a small explosion.
Luckily, Kirishima had seen it coming and had hardened his head in time. That's the only reason Bakugou set off the explosion. The red head continued his laughter as Bakugou forced a scowl.
Dinner was served and Kirishima never stopped thanking the cooks and complimenting them. This amused Mitsuki, and she often caught her son sneaking glances when he thought the red head wasn't looking.
"So, Eijiro, are you seeing anybody right now?"
Kirishima smiled and shook his head. "I'm pretty content with it just being me and Baku right now."
Mitsuki smirked. "Is that so?"
"Plates," Bakugou demanded, interrupting the interrogation.
His parents shared a knowing glance as he walked away with all of their plates. Kirishima tried to get up to help, but he fumbled and fell on his butt. Unsurprisingly, Bakugou was there in a moment to help him up. Mitsuki had never seen her son so gentle and kind with another person. She decided right then and there that if anything happened between the two, she would set up a wedding immediately.
The four grouped once again in the living room, catching up and sharing stories when lighting cracked outside and thunder shook the room. Kirishima frowned at the thought of walking to the train station in this weather.
"Well, I suppose you boys will be staying overnight then," Masaru suggested.
"Oh, I don't want to bother-"
"Eijiro, honey, you're so f*cking stupid," Mitsuki laughed.
It eased Kirishima's mind a bit to know that Bakugou's parents truly liked him. His comfort was swept away when he realized he'd have to sleep in the same bed as Bakugou. Again, this had happened before, but Kirishima feared Bakugou would wake up with Kirishima cuddling him and turn him away, disgusted by his actions.
Bakugou had some old clothes in his room, so the boys were able to share some old shirts and sweatpants to sleep in. Kirishima just took the pants preferring to sleep shirtless anyways.
"Let me look at the stitches," Bakugou commanded, totally not just wanting to touch Kirishima's muscles.
He did seriously look at the stitches though, and he noticed that the red head seemed to be healing well. He gently run his finger over the stitches.
"Didn't hurt," Kirishima smiled. "Oh, and by the way, I'll sleep on the floor."
"Like hell you will. We'll just sleep in the bed."
"Well, yeah, but what if I hurt you or my stitches come undone."
"Then I'll take the floor," Bakugou insisted, knowing that he'd get his way.
"Fine," Kirishima sighed before whacking Bakugou in the head with a pillow.
"Is that a challenge?" Bakugou smirked menacingly as he picked up a pillow of his own.
"C'mon, Kachaan-" Kirishima teased.
The red head was cut off by a pillow smacking him right in the jaw. He laughed as he shoved Bakugou onto the bed and tackled him. He shoved the pillow into Bakugou's face but was thrown off. This time, Bakugou sat on top of Kirishima, avoiding his stitches, as he whacked the red head repeatedly with a pillow. Kirishima hardened his arms and put them in front of his face like a shield.
"You can't beat me without your stupid quirk, huh?" Bakugou smiled and tossed Kirishima out from under him.
Both boys smiled widely and laughed as the settled down for the night.
"Night, Baku," Kirishima whispered as he faced away.
"Night, sh*tty hair."
