Lia's apartment was across town but was just as amazing. When we got there I was surprised at how many people were at her house.

There was her stylist, Jake Wes. He was very well known as a celebrity stylist. Lia was telling him he had newly become her main stylist. Meaning that for now he only worked for her.

Then there was her make-up artist, Kelly Taylor. She was also well known as a make-up artist. But the first famous client she had was Lia. Mostly because Lia and Kelly had been friends since childhood, they had grown up together.

There was some of her family and some of her friends also. They were all amazing. It was clear on why Lia was such a sweetheart, her family raised her like that.

" I'm Liam Payne, Lia's older brother" a dark blondish boy introduced himself.

" Cailin Reed, nice to meet you" I smiled.

Wait wasn't Lia's last name James?

" we have different dads" Liam said as he read the confusion on my face.

" oooh" I chuckled.

" this gonna be your first red carpet?" he asked.

" yeah" I nodded nervously.

" don't worry, it just your brain talking" he chuckled.

" have you ever done it?" I asked.

Liam nodded.

" before Lia and Harry started dating I was usually her 'date'" he said doing air quotes which made me smile.

Must be weird being your sister's date. But it was pretty clear how close they were.

" now I go when he can't. but since it's her movie premiere, I'm obligated to go" he smiled.

" that's nice" I teased.

Another thing that surprised me was two camera guys following her every move as she began getting ready for the premiere.

She explained to me that was for her website. She liked to post videos to give to her fans, a way for them to get to know her better.

With my permission, they filmed Lia and I talking. The label certainly wouldn't have a problem with that. They wanted my name to be out there.

" Jake, can you show some dresses to Cailin?" Lia said as Kelly started on her make-up.

Jake nodded and began showing a rack of dresses. Every dress was beautiful. Probably because they were all options for Lia.

As I looked through the dresses, I noticed it was nothing close to what I had worn in public before. Not even in modeling had I worn dresses like these.

" I think this is too much for me" I said to Jake.

He simply smiled.

" Lia acted the same way the first time she walked down a red carpet" he chuckled.

" what if I look like I'm trying to hard?" I shook my head.

" you gotta make a good first impression then" Jake nodded.

I decided he was right. This was going to be my first time walking down a red carpet and i needed it to be perfect.

" how about this one?" I asked as I picked out a beautiful dress no one would expect me to wear.

" I would have chosen no different" Jake smiled.

The elevator doors opened and I walked out into the lobby to see the boys standing around. They seemed to be talking about something that I could hear because I was too far.

I walked towards them with ease and confidence just like Jake and Kelly said I should for the night.

" you guys ready?" I asked.

They were here to pick me up with I had gotten ready in Lia's apartment. I was actually glad I hadn't gotten ready by myself. This way I couldn't mess anything up.

" Cailin?" Zayn smirked.

I smiled at the gawking boys. I had always been well dressed but I guess I had never gotten this well dressed since there was never an occasion to.

" you look great Cai" Louis nodded.

I looked over at Harry and saw him on his phone. Typical Harry, he couldn't even look at me.

" let's go" I nodded before all of us left to the car.

When we arrived at the premiere, nerves started to get to me. This was going to be the first red carpet I walk.

What if I trip over my heels?

What if my dress has a malfunction?

What if do something wrong?

" you're going to do fine" I heard a whisper in my ear just as the car door opened to revel the red carpet with all the cameras.

I looked over and saw Harry nodding.

I slowly nodded back as Zayn and Louis were the first ones to exit out of the car. Harry got out of the car before but turned back putting out his hand. I looked at it and realized he was offering his help for me to get out of the car.

The gesture surprised me but maybe it was just for the cameras.

Just like Jake had told me, my smile was my best friend at these events. I kept my smile on as we all started to walk the red carpet.

Posing with the boys to take picture was pretty easy. I guess I was comfortable with the cameras. Modeling all those years just paid off, I laughed to myself.

Later they started asking for individual pictures.

" Cailin! Over here!" they yelled. Every two seconds I would change my pose and never let my smile fall.

Eventually picture taking part of the red carpet was over.

Now it was time for the interviews.

Luckily the boys were by my side the whole time for this part.

" So this is the first time you all are together for a premiere, how does it feel?" the interviewer asked.

" it's fun" Louis nodded.

" and I believe this is your first premiere ever right Cailin?" she asked.

" yeah. I was a bit nervous in the car getting over here but it's all good now" I smiled.

" so Harry, how does it feel to be at your girlfriends movie premiere?"

" I'm proud of and she deserves all the success she's getting" Harry nodded.

Harry sounded so genuine about what he said it surprised me. Lia and Harry were great together but there was something off about it all. Something was out of place. Then again, maybe it was all in my head.

Not even a minute later, cheers came from the beginning of the red carpet. We all looked over to see Lia arriving at the carpet.

She looked stunning. Lia always did but something about this beautiful sparkly red dress made her shine even more. It was like it was made for her.

" so you've become quite friends with Lia Cailin?" the interviewer asked taking my attention from Lia.

I immediately nodded.

" with all the traveling, I haven't been able to see a lot of my usual friends and Lia's always visiting Harry, so we've become quite close friends over the last couple of weeks" I smiled.

The lady started asking questions to Louis so I looked back over to the red carpet to see Harry and Lia getting their pictures taken together. I hadn't even noticed Harry wasn't with us anymore. They looked perfect together. I should have felt utterly happy for them, but some reason deep down I didn't and I hated myself for that.

After a couple more interviews without Harry, we finally made it inside the theater.

" how was the for your first time down the red carpet?" I heard someone say from behind me.

I looked over to see Liam walking towards us.

" Liam!" I smiled before giving him a hug.

" Hey Liam" Zayn and Louis nodded.

" you guys know each other?" I asked.

" everybody knows Liam" Zayn chuckled.

I looked back Liam with a confused expression.

" I used to tag along with Lia when she went to go visit Harry" Liam explained.

" yeah, he would go out with us to the clubs" Louis nodded.

" I have a new clubbing buddy!" I cheered.

Everyone around me laughed and I joined in. Willow popped up in my mind. I wish she was here. She would being here.

Then I realized something. I hadn't even told her I was back in New York. I looked around for my phone and realized that I had left it with James for safe keeping. Unfortunetly for me he was nowhere to be found.

" come on, let's find our seats" Louis said guiding us into the theater filled with other people looking for their own seats.

I guess talking to Willow would have to wait.

We all took our seats in the the middle of the theater. I ended up sitting at the end of one of the rows next to Louis. It wasn't a bad seat at all, it was actually a very good one.

I knew Lia was a good actress from her previous movies but in my opinion this was definitely one of her best works. The movie had already in a great way, with a whole lot of drama.

I was obvious Lia was headed down an incredible career as an actress. There was no doubt about that.

Looking through the audience, my gaze stopped at two particular seats. Harry's and Lia's. They were seating right next to each other about two rows in front of me.

All of a sudden turned his head and his eyes were glued to mine. It was the awkward kind of stare, it was something I couldn't describe. It wasn't hatred. It was relaxing. It felt safe. Then again he had his arm wrapped around his girlfriend.

I quickly turned my eyes back to the big screen trying to avoid any stupid thoughts from coming into my mind. Unconsiously I took another glance at him and noticed his arm wasn't wrapped around her anymore. They were by his sides.

" so you're going out with us tonight right?" Zayn asked as we waited for our car to come pick us up.

" I don't think so, I just want to go to sleep" I shrugged.

" such a wus" Louis teased.

" whatever" I rolled my eyes.

Suddenly we were joined by Harry.

" you aren't going home with Lia?" Louis asked.

" her whole family's in town so I just thought it was a good idea for me to leave" he shrugged.

Was I the only one who felt like something was off about that?

" great, now you can come out with Zayn and I" Louis smirked.

Zayn immediately gave Louis a high five.

" I'm just gonna head back home" Harry shook his head.

" I swear, you two have become so damn boring" Zayn whined.

Zayn and Louis had decided on taking a taxi to where they wanted to go, which left Harry and I alone in the car other than the driver.

Thankfully it wasn't a long ride home. By home I meant the apartment I was forced to be living in.

As soon as Harry and I walked into the apartment, we went our separate ways without a word. I walked straight to my new room and took off the beautiful dress I had worn. The worst part was that I knew that I would never wear it again because of the stupid critics. Even though Jake had given it to me.

I hung up the dress in my closet and put on a pair of sweat pants and a white tank top. I loved getting dressed up but getting dressed down was sometimes so much better.

After letting down my hair, I quickly put it into a bun.  It took about three paper wipes to take off all the make-up I had worn tonight. I hadn't even realized it had been that much.

I looked at my suitcases and thought about unpacking it all right then and there but my hunger spoke louder.

Walking into the kitchen I wondered with the fridge was stocked with food. It wasn't.

" if you want, I ordered some pizza" Harry said from the couch.

I looked over and saw him sitting there watching something on TV.

" that'd be great" I nodded.

I walked over and sat on the other side of the couch.

" 21 jump street?" I smiled as I realized what Harry was watching.

" my favorite movie" he nodded with a short smile.

" mine too. Well atleast one if the them" I said.

" what are your other favorites?" Harry asked surprising me with his curiosity. Usually he just told me to shut up. Then again it might have been because of the conversation we had the night before.

" well I really like Friends with Benefits, the one with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake" I nodded.

" Mila Kunis is even hotter in person" Harry smirked.

" you've met her?" I jumped in excitement.

" of course" Harry shrugged.

" lucky bastard" I cursed with a smile.

After about 15 minutes the pizza finally arrived.

" why did you order mushrooms on it?" I whined.

" because I like mushrooms" Harry glared.

" gross" I glared back as I started picking out the mushroom.

" at least I ordered" Harry rolled his eyes as he took a piece for himself.

We sat back on the couch and continued watching the movie. But there was still something bothering me in the back of my mind.

" Harry?" I said.

" yeah" he responded still looking at the screen.

" why do you cheat on Lia?" I asked expected him to start cursing me out right then and there.

But he didn't. He just turned and looked at me like he was trying to find a way to respond.

" I mean like you guys look so perfect for each other. It truly looks like you love her. And she's such a great person. Why would you do that to her?" I asked before taking another bite out of my pizza.

It took him a couple of seconds before he could start talking again.

" I don't want to talk about that" he simply said.

" just tell me Harry, I think I deserve at least that" I pushed.

" it's complicated" Harry mumbled.

" I can handle complicated" I said.

Harry started to tell me how the label had forced Harry to started dating Lia for the media so they could get the band's name out there. Lia knew it they weren't dating for real but they became really good friends. Like best friends. Then Harry noticed that Lia was falling in love with him. He didn't what to hurt her so he starting pretending that they were dating for real to her.

" I didn't want to loose her as my best friend" Harry explained.

" she has no idea you don't love her?" I asked.

" I do love her, just not in that way" Harry said.

" what happens when she finds out?"

" she won't. As far as everyone knows, I do actually love her that way" Harry nodded.

" she deserves better" I said to myself.

It was true. Lia was one of the nicest people I knew. She deserved someone who was truly in love with her.

" when I see someone who is really in love with her and deserves her, I'll let her go" Harry shrugged.

" what if you fall in love with someone else along the way?" I asked.

Harry held a long stare at me trying to find his words again it seemed.

" that'll probably never happen" he said dryly.

" probably" I repeated.

it was a coincidence that Liam and Lia's name matched haha I don't even know that I wanted Liam and Lia to be siblings but I thought it was the right fit.

I'm still not sure where I wanna put Niall in the story but I will somehow.
