A few days passed, the next comeback was coming up soon and San just wanted a break. Maybe he would get another two or three days off, as it was his father's birthday. He was confident in everything and had rehearsed enough. Until the promotions start and all the other preparations, two days should certainly be possible.
When everyone was sitting in the meeting room, the manager came and gave the boys three days off at Sans' request. They wanted to get some rest before the big stress.
"Nice, then I can finish building my Lego spaceship," said Seonghwa happily. Hongjoong looked at Seonghwa, somewhat confused. Seonghwa looked at Hongjoong, "You're welcome to help me."
"I'd rather do something else with you," Hongjoong admitted, causing Jongho to clear his throat. "Excuse me? What?"
"Yah! Not like that! I meant-"
"Definitely sex!" Wooyoung interjected. "Well, I don't often agree with Wooyoung, but this time I agree with him. You literally smell of it. And just the way you look at each other. I always thought San and Woo were bad, but unlike you two, they've got it under control," smiled Yunho sweetly. Hongjoong gave him an evil glare.
"I'll see you in three days, Yun." Hongjoong left the room, annoyed, and Mingi giggled softly, giving Yunho a kiss on the cheek.
"Sannie," Wooyoung now whispered. "Shall we go to the movies? Amusement park? Oh or-" San interrupted him gently. "I actually wanted to see my parents. It's my appa's birthday."
"Oh, I see. Of course, family comes first. Then I'll ask Sangie if he wants to do something with me."
"Huh? What are you talking about? Of course you're coming," said San, confused.
"What do you mean?" - "You're practically part of the family too. Besides, according to my parents, you're the favorite member of the group," San grinned sheepishly.
"Oh... Eh... That's sweet," Wooyoung was also a little embarrassed. "But I don't have anything for your appa. Then when we fly to your place, let's get a little something else."
"You could give him his favorite whiskey as a present," San murmured. 'It's always so hard to find something for Appa,' he whined.

By four o'clock in the morning, they were already on their way to the airport. The flight took an hour and then they had over an hour's drive by bus or cab, as San lived in a rural area. When they arrived at San's house early in the morning and rang the doorbell, San's father opened the door, still relatively tired. However, when he saw his son, he beamed and pulled San into a warm hug. "What are you doing here San?"
"We got a short break before all the stress of the comeback starts. So I thought I'd come and see you. Happy birthday, Appa," San smiled so that you could see his dimples. Wooyoung warmed to the scene in front of him. How he wished his father was like that.
"Thank you! Oh, who did you bring with you?" asked San's father as he looked at Wooyoung.
"Hello, Mr. Choi," Wooyoung bowed slightly. "Happy birthday to you."
"Wooyoung my boy, how many times have I told you to call me Ilseung," he said with a laugh and pulled Wooyoung into his arms, who stood there a little overwhelmed and didn't really say anything back. He simply didn't know it. His father would never have acted like that.
"Why don't you come in? Do you want something to eat? A drink?"
"I'd like a coffee," Wooyoung said quietly and sat down on the sofa. He had been here before, but somehow it felt different this time. He had never been so nervous when he was here. His father came back with the coffee and two other drinks.
"How are Eomma and Noona?" asked San. "Great, not much has actually happened since you were here last time. Your Noona is staying with us for the weekend too. And Eomma has already prepared everything for today. She insisted on celebrating with our family and close friends. She has already prepared everything at our taekwondo school," he sighed.
"That's nice! We never celebrated birthdays in a big way," Wooyoung breathed, causing San to look at him with concern.
"That's true, but something small would have been enough," smiled San's father, looking so much like San's smile.
"Byeol!" Wooyoung called out and the cat jumped onto San's lap. Wooyoung stroked her directly and loosened up a little. San stroked her too. Byeol purred happily.
"What do I do the honor of Wooyoung being here with my son? Does the entertainment know that you're here together?" When San's father said this, San froze. "W-what?"
"I wasn't born yesterday, I read the rumors on the internet. And the statement from your management," San's father grinned.
"No, I didn't tell them. They wouldn't have allowed it," said San meekly, causing Wooyoung to look up in confusion. "You said you spoke to our manager."
"I did, but he didn't want you to come along, otherwise more rumors might start. You can't blame everything on fanservice," San explained, annoyed, which is why San's father looked at both of them skeptically.
"San I hope it doesn't damage your career. You've worked so hard to get to where you are now. I wasn't thrilled about it at first, but I see how much you're into it and I want to support you. I don't want you to miss out on that by having unnecessary relationship rumors with a boy."
San nodded meekly and bit his lip. Wooyoung eyed them both uneasily. He felt like he should leave right away.
"Nothing will happen, Appa. Don't worry. Wooyoung and I have been keeping a low profile," San sighed and looked at Wooyoung, who was looking around uncomfortably.
"Then get some rest until the party tonight," said San's father, smiling again.
"Let's go to my room, Young-ah," San grabbed Wooyoung's hand and they both walked to his room.
