JUST CREEPIN'
KAMARION MONTGOMERY
DECEMBER 22nd, FRIDAY
"COME ON JOURIE, you flaw as fuck, you know ion want no damn cherry jolly rancher. Give me blue." He reached for the entire bag in her hands.
"Noooooo." She dragged, annoyed by him trying to take one of the three flavors she enjoyed. "Just get grape if you don't want a damn cherry. What's wrong wit cherry anyway, why you won't eat it." She attempted to convince him.
He smacked his teeth, stopping at the red light. "The same reason you won't eat it. You be aggy sometimes. You know ion fuck wit nothin' that's cherry flavored." He complained.
She rolled her eyes even though she agreed. They both hated anything cherry—even regular cherrys. Sometimes they got a wild cherry slurpee from 7 eleven but that was as far as it went.
"Ouuu, you just get on my fucking nervesssss." She groaned, reaching in her bag. She grabbed two blue ones, and two green ones before putting them in his hand. "That's all your getting, I literally got these for me." She muttered.
"You used my money..." He trailed off, happily accepting the jolly ranchers. "Thank you though." He put them in the cup holder, pressing the gas to accelerate his car.
"Um, this isn't about that." She muttered softly. She put another green apple in her mouth before relaxing in the seat. "And it's our money, we married, bye."
"Diamonds on me dancing, pinky ring full of crystals bae. Big za in the building, come and take a picture bae."
Talk my shit by Bossman dlow played through the speakers in the car, while the cruised to get A'jouries first ultra sound appointment.
Her first visit to the OBGYN, she was only provided with prenatal pills, and common information along with a check up for her baby. She was excited nonetheless, and bam was ten times that.
Glancing at bam, he was driving with one arm, and the other was resting on the middle console. "Why you don't never put your hand on my thigh when you driving. Is it cause you don't wanna touch me and you think I'm nasty." Her question was void of any emotion.
His eyebrows furrowed, and he jerked his head. "Now why would you even think that?" He questioned, glancing at her. Her dropped his hand to her lap, and she shoved it away.
"You only putting it there cause I said something." She rolled her eyes.
"I don't know how much longer I can do this shit." He chuckled, shaking his head. Jourie already had an attitude on her, and with her pregnancy hormones she would probably drive him crazy by the end of her second term.
She frowned at his choice of words. "I can't believe you." She muttered, knowing she was only trying to gain a rise out of him. "Put your hand back or I'll break it in your sleep." She threatened.
"Saying all that with a cast on, is crazy." He laughed reminding her of her cast. She rolled her eyes.
"When I drop our son, I'm beating that hoe ass again." She muttered softly, examining her nails. She needed to get them done again, before Christmas.
Silently reminding herself to contact kennedi, she tuned in noticing that bam was laughing at her. "Who said it's a boy. I think it's gonna be a girl." He said honestly.
Raising her eyebrows, that shocked her for sure. She'd always heard males say they want a son first, every once and a while she would see a man want a girl, but not very often.
"You want a girl?" She reiterated. She swiveled her head to look at him with a shocked facial expression. She didn't know why but she thought that was so adorable for some reason.
He nodded his head in contempt, like he had it all figured out. "Of course I do. You would be da best girl mom Fasho. I could already picture dat shit." He nodded his head.
"So if you could picture it, what would you wanna name her? Something like you?" She questioned softly, reaching over. She used her thumb to caress the side of his face, and he let her.
"I don't know yet. But we still got round seven months to figure it out right?" He stated rhetorically making jourie smile.
It was something about bam that she just adored so much. So much that she could see past all his flaws, and all the things they had to go through in order to be where they were today.
Honestly, the journey was probably one of the hardest things she ever had to go through, but she would do it all over if she could end up in the exact spot where she was right now.
Being treated how she deserved. Married and in love. With child. More money than she could even wrap her head around.
"Right." She nodded agreeing with him. "Can you put your hand back on my thigh? I only moved it to prove a point." She muttered timidly, not wanting to admit it.
"I'm already knowing." He shook his head at her and her theatrics. She wasn't fooling anybody but herself.
She gazed down at his hand on her thigh, trailing her eyes up her arm, then up to his neck behind his ear, all the way to his other arm he was using to steer. "Baby what made you get all these tattoos in a eleven month time span?" She questioned.
The large tattoos he had obviously were not cheap, so she wondered why he spent so much money. "Bored as fuck. Besides work ian have none but time on my hands. Zayden tattoos tough as fuck, so I just started visioning myself wit a lot of tattoos." He explained.
"Once I finished my full sleeve, I knew I wanted to get my other one, plus my neck Fasho. I'm still debating bout my chest and stomach." He confessed truthfully.
"I just realized you have no chest hair." Jouire giggled playfully, pulling a chuckle out of kamarion. He shook his head at her words.
"I'm only twenty. And ion even got facial hair yet—if I even get some. Ion think I will honestly." He admitted. "My dad don't got none. Nigga smooth as a baby for some reason."
"How you know that—I mean I have noticed that he has like zero facial hair." She pointed out with a nod. He only had a little peach fuzz above his lip like kamarion.
"He walk around wit his shirt off a lot. I think it's genetics or some shit. We got heads full of hair, but no facial hair, chest hair and our arm hair and leg hair is thin as fuck. You can barely see it." He pointed out.
Jouries intrusive thoughts won, and she rubbed her soft palm up his smooth arm feeling the thin fine hairs. "I don't know. I think I like that about you baby." She admitted.
"At least you don't got them nappy chest hairs. I think that's such a big ick." She shivered. She knew men couldn't control it, but she hated looking at it.
He laughed, knowing exactly what she was talking about. He couldn't even imagine what he would look like with chest hair. "Your dad don't got none?" He questioned. He was just keeping the conversation flowing.
"I don't even know. My daddy shave." She shrugged her shoulders. He nodded at the information. He pulled in to the OBGYN parking lot, parking in a spot for patients.
"You ready?" Jourie asked excitedly. She knew for sure she would have to wait a few more weeks to figure out a gender, but first ultra sounds were special.
Bam silently nodded his head, turning the car off. Taking the keys and his phone, he exited the car—walking around it. Pulling the door open, jourie was unwrapping another watermelon jolly rancher as she stepped out the car.
"Thank you, stink." She thanked him softly, letting him close the behind her. He hit the locks on the key fob, hearing the locks click. Draping his arm around her neck, they walked into the building.
After jourie signed in and they took a seat, they talked about small meaningless things to occupy their time while they waited. "I'm telling you, ion give a fuck what anybody say, I'm getting those hurachies." Jourie muttered.
Bam laughed. Technically, the shoes went out of style years ago, but he didn't see why to begin with. Jourie ranting about wanting the shoes was cute. "Bae I'm not laughing, ask your frickin' shoe vendor man." She urged slapping his thigh.
"You gotta tell me the name of em first baby." Her reminded her.
"Oh my—I don't know kamarion. Wait let me search it up." She picked her phone up that was on her wide spreading thigh. She grew quiet, going to safari.
"See look, they are called red oxides in white." She passed over her iPhone, letting him take it. He looked at the red, black and white shoe before nodding.
"I'll get em." He rubbed the side of his neck.
Jourie instantly smiled. Beaming with joy, happy that he was going to make it happen for her. She couldn't explain how cool it was to have a husband who sold shoes, she got whatever she wanted—free. He hadn't even officially opened his store up yet, so just imagine when business started rolling.
"Aww, I love you boo. Imma get ya car detailed and decorated inside. Even swap." She leaned over kissing his cheek, and he laughed.
He pinched his bottom lip between his two fingers. "Watchu mean decorated?" He reiterated, as he raised an eyebrow.
"Like mine. You know how the outside has the custom stripe and shit. Then the inside got lights, and mats and stuff. Your car is beautiful on the outside, but ugly on the inside." She shivered.
Smacking his teeth, jourie had a lot of car icks, therefore he never paid her any mind when she complained about his. He had a nice sports car, but she always felt he could make it better.
It was just one of the things that came with being with a girl who took cars seriously. "Whatever aggy." He shook his head since she was busy being excited in her seat next to him.
"A'jourie wright!" The nurse called out, causing both of them to snap their heads up.
Jourie rolled her eyes, "I gotta put myself under a new last name." She reminded herself. She loved her maiden name—but being reminded that she was married to bam everytime someone said her full name was much better. "Come on." She instructed towards him lowly.
Following the doctor to the back, they got to a room. Instructed to sit on the table, jourie did that—while bam kept his distance sitting in the visitors chair.
"Okay A'jourie, I'm doctor Spencer. Your here for an ultra sound correct." A middle aged white woman with jet black hair, dressed in purple scrubs came into the room.
"Yes." Jourie nodded, resting her hands on the sides of her. She leaned her weight into them carefully.
"And your dad?" She glanced at bam who was sitting there letting the woman easily grasp his attention. He didn't want to miss anything that was going to occur.
Bringing his hand up to the side of his face he nodded. "Yeah." He answered easily.
Sighing the woman gazed at her clipboard. "Okay that's wonderful. And jourie how far along are you?" She quizzed, looking up to lock eyes with jourie.
"I'm nine weeks today." She replied, shifting in her seat.
"Wonderful news," she responded writing that down.
Jourie glanced around the room. The walls were painted pastel blue, and she was freezing. Adorned with framed pictures on the wall, the room was welcoming.
"Okay let's get started. Can you lay back on the table, we're going to start now." Dr. Spencer spoke, her voice calm and friendly. She was trying to shake any nerves the girl may have had.
She pushed a cart with the ultrasound machine over to the examination table and began setting up. The gel, the wand, the monitor-all of it seemed so surreal to her.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm nervous." Jouries voice was barely above a whisper. "But I'm excited too." She added softly, fondling with her fingers.
"That's completely normal," Dr. Spencer said, her smile widening. "Let's take a look at your little one, shall we?"
Jourie nodded as bam reached his hand over, grabbing ahold of hers. Her grip tightened as soon as she grabbed ahold.
Dr. Spencer applied the cool gel to her abdomen. She shivered slightly at the contact but focused on the monitor beside her. The wand moved over her belly, and after a few moments of static and indistinct shapes, a clear image appeared on the screen.
"Okay, there we are. There's your baby." She pointed to the screen at the distinctive shape on the baby monitor.
Both of their eyes were glued to the screen. Dr. Spencer gasped at the sight. "What?" Jourie asked quickly.
With their eyes quickly shifting to her, she squinted her eyes at the monitor. "Well, it seems as if there are two little babies in the womb." She informed them, creating shock. "Do twins run on either side of the family?" She asked.
"Not that I know of." Bam replied.
Jourie knew on her mother side it didn't, but she knew nothing about her fathers side. "I'm not sure." Jourie responded in shock.
"Hmm. Well there's baby A, and here's baby B." She pointed so they could tell the difference between the two babies.
She could see the tiny forms, the gentle flicker of the heartbeats. It was real. Her babies were real.
Dr. Spencer gave them a moment, stepping back to let them absorb the sight. The room seemed to hold its breath, the world outside fading away as they focused on the tiny lives growing inside jourie.
"Everything looks great," Dr. Spencer said after a few moments, breaking the silence gently. "Strong heartbeat, good size. Congratulations, you're going to be parents to twins. Unless there's another little baby hiding."
"Huh?" Jourie asked, her eyes still trained on the monitor.
"In the weeks to go, it is very possible another baby could show up. It's the same for everyone. Triplets are uncommon, but it's not impossible." She informed the two. "Would you like pictures of the ultra sound?" She continued.
They both nodded eagerly.
"Okay. I will be back shortly." Dr. Spencer excused herself.
Silence drowned the room, and jouries air felt thick. "Do you think I'm having twins because I aborted our first baby." She spoke what she had been thinking since the second she was informed there were two babies instead of one.
"I don't know." He replied. It hadn't even crossed his mind until she said it. "But regardless it's okay." He assured her.
Jourie didn't know what to call this. It could've been karma—but it would only be karma if she was angry about having two babies. She in fact was not.
She felt elated that she got a do over, and with two babies.
"You remember when I thought Shanells baby was yours?" Jourie asked, standing next to bam in Walmart as she chose which type of cereal she wanted for her house.
She was stuck between Frosted Flakes, and Honey Nut Cheerios. She had never really been interested those cereals but lately she had been wanting them like crazy. Usually her go to were Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
"Yeah." Bam replied easily, gazing towards her eyesight. Sighing, he picked up the blue box of Frosted Flakes, and the brown box of cheerios. "Just get both ma." He shook his head putting the cereal in the cart.
"And you remember when I kept asking you about the baby, and you would never confirm or deny it?" She continued, letting her thoughts consume her. She couldn't help it, and he knew that which was why he let her carry on. "Why?" She quizzed.
She pushed the cart further down as he followed closely behind her.
"I did." He responded watching her collect the peanut butter chocolate chip chewy granola bars.
She blinked, looking back at him. "No you wouldn't. You would always talk your way around it."
"No. The day she called you, I told you she was lying. You said that I wasn't doing enough to convince you or some shit. Then the night you brought genesis, you asked me if I fucked Shanell raw, and I told you no. I ain't know what more you wanted from me." He shrugged.
"Is this about to turn into a argument? I don't wanna argue." He expressed.
"No, this is me randomly reflecting on the past." She admitted. "I didn't know what more I wanted from you. I wanted you to get on your knees and beg me to believe you again." She confessed, causing him to smile.
He would never be embarrassed for the things he did to get her time of day.
"But you didn't. You let me walk out, and didn't talk to me for eleven months." She sighed, thinking about the rough patch between them.
"I didn't want to." He verbalized. "Would you have believed me had I did all that?" He questioned, and she looked down.
"Probably not. I would've still kept entertaining you, but I would've been distant." She admitted, not sorry for her admission. They were having an adult conversation and she saw no reason to get angry or to lie to him.
"Exactly, believe it or not we needed that break. It was longer than intended but it was needed." He licked his lips getting the regular chocolate chip chewy bars.
"True. It made me realize how good I really had it until we started disconnecting." She nodded her head. She was at peace with their past.
He wrapped his arms around her body as she continued to shop for the food for her apartment. They had been alternating between homes while they looked for a house. They would need to expand their options now that they knew they had two incoming babies.
"I was thinking. What if we just get a house built. Like my dad." Bam randomly suggested.
Twisting her head, she pulled her sew in over her shoulder. "I like that idea too baby, but I think we should get a lil starter house while it get built or something. Especially with me being pregnant." She expressed.
Ho nodded taking that in. "Yeah you right." He agreed, "Imma talk to Auntie Zariah bout it." He spoke since she was the one who handled purchasing homes for their family.
"Okay, ouuu we need to go get some ice cream while we here. I want five different kinds."
I was gonna have them run into Pierre and gensis in the store, but they need peace 😒 next chapter tho.
Thoughts about jourie having twins, their small discussion, and anything else?
If you go to the character chapter you can see what their cars look like (so you know what jourie meant)
