"HAVE YOU EVER been cheated on momma?" Jourie asked as she looked down at her fingers with her hands placed on the kitchen table.

When Sahid dropped her off home, she planned on going inside to confront Genesis about him giving her an STI but she chickened out.

She had no idea what she wanted to say or how she would approach it. She instead she hopped in her car and drove to her parents house.

She was never there anymore, so they always welcomed her and enjoyed the little of time she had to spare for them.

They hated how she went from never wanting to leave, then she graduated and never wanted to be home anyway. They figured she was just going through a phase, and when she was ready she would come around more again.

She was a young adult, who wanted to live the young adult life.

"That's so random jourie." Kourtney told her, stirring the pan that had seasoned ground beef inside. She had been wanting some tacos so that's what she was making.

"Yes momma I know, but please just answer the question." Jourie was desperate for advice, and she finally broke down and decided to ask her mom what to do.

She figured she could leave out a few details just to stay on the safe side though.

"Why? I'm not answering until you tell me why you wanna know." Kourtney sat her spatula down, and crossed her arms.

Jourie basically knew that her refusal to answer meant yes. She would've just left it at that but she had more questions. She really wanted her mothers help.

Aside from Samaria, Kourtney was her bestfriend and she had been neglecting their relationship to cater to Genesis and their relationship. She felt like it was obviously not enough if he cheated on her.

Not only did he cheat but he clearly did it unprotected. She hated that bam cheated on her, but she now respected the fact that he at least used protection and took her health into consideration.

Cheating was still cheating, but she didn't realize how good she had it until it got worse for her.

Her life was turning upside down and she had no idea what to do with it anymore.

On top of that, Sahid—the only who was still willing to hang out with her and do things and he had  probably just cut her off as well because she snapped on him unprovoked.

She felt like everything beneath her was crumbling.

"Did Genesis cheat on you?" Kourtney snapped her from her thoughts, pulling a seat out at the dining table and sitting next to her.

"I—I think he did." She felt so embarrassed to admit it. Especially because she didn't know if she wanted to take him back, and if she decided to she didn't want her mother be to looking at her side ways like she was dumb.

That's why she tended to keep that type of stuff to herself, that way if she decided to do something that was only between her significant other, and her.

"What do you mean you think?" Kourntey wanted her to
Clarify.

"I mean, I think I kind of have a hunch but I'm not sure. The sad thing is I don't know if I wanna leave him alone if he did, I want to know how serious the situation was though." She expressed, drifting her eyes up to lock with her mother.

"Well to answer your question, yes I have been cheated on before. I few times actually." She informed her daughter shocking her.

Ever since she was little girl she knew her mother was a no tolerance type of person. Her mom always put her foot down.

"Really? How many times ?" Jourie asked her mother curiously.

"I don't know, It was about three or four times. I was young though. Like sixteen or seventeen." She told her mother shocking her even more.

She expected her to say two times at most, but three or four had her entirely baffled.

"Did you ever get back with any of them?" Jourie continued to ask questions. She knew it wasn't smart to base her relationships on other ones of the past or present but she was desperate to get unbiased advice.

Sahid would be of no help because obviously he was loyal to his favorite cousin, and jourie didn't want to fault him for that. That was exactly how she lost Samaria, and now possibly Sahid too.

"Yeah," Kourtney admitted. "Shit your daddy cheated on me too." She told her making jourie gasp.

"You married somebody that cheated on you?!" Jourie tried not to be so loud but she was baffled. Her dad was perfect in her eyes and she could never see him doing such a horrible thing to her mother.

He was like her hero, and now she felt like her image of him was being tainted. That broke her heart, because she knew how it felt to be cheated on and she could never imagine her mother feeling that way and it being cause by her father of all people when just a few moments ago she thought was perfect.

"How could you take someone back after they cheated on you mom. Even my dad. I'm not gonna sit here and defend him because he's my father. Cheating is flat out wrong point blank period." Jouries face was frowned up.

"Yeah jourie, I agree—but people can change." Her mother admitted. "And I know a lot of people don't agree with this, but jourie once a cheater does not mean always a cheater. People change for the ones that they love." She continued.

"So you don't think that my dad can ever cheat on you again?" Jourie questioned. She felt like a little girl getting schooled, but for some reason this conversation wasn't reminding her about Genesis like it was originally was supposed to be about. She was instead thinking about kamarion.

"It's not that I don't think he can, it's that I don't think he will want to. We make each other happy jourie, and we have been for years." She started.

"Relationships are not all peaches and cream. Everybody goes through stuff. Everybody has up and downs, but it's how you chose to handle it that determines the fate of your relationship. Everything will not be perfect. Relationships are about communication, consideration, compromise, and of course love. If you don't lack those four things you can get past whatever." Kourtney lowkey felt like a preacher.

"I'm starting to feel really bad , I should've had this conversation with you a long time ago. Now your already in a year long relationship and you have no idea what you wanna do." She shook her head.

"So you think it's really okay to take someone back ? You don't think I would be stupid or people look at me weird?" The questions kept coming and she needed all of them answered.

"Jourie a relationship is between you and your partner. Fuck what anybody on the outside has to say. Love will make you do strange things. Maybe I should tell you what happened between me and zayden so that you'll understand better." She suggested, and jourie quickly nodded her head agreeing.

"Girl to make a long story short, me and yo daddy was teenagers when we first started dating but girl we was the literal definition of toxic. I think I was the problem now that I'm grown and mature looking back at it, but one day me and zayden got into it really bad and he disappeared for hours. I was distraught girl." Kourtney shook her head as she reminisced.

"When he finally came back to my house later that night I was a mess. I was going off on him until he finally told me where he was. Long story short, and excuse my langue but he was out getting head by the school hoe!" She exclaimed making jouries lips part.

"I guess God just wasn't on our side at the time because the very next day he got arrested and got put in juvie for about six or seven months so we never worked it out." She revealed , "and in the meantime I called myself trynna move on. But it only got worse from there. Everyone I tried with cheated too. I thought I would never find somebody who wasnt disloyal to me. I mean I was a bit much back then, but I was always loyal and I always cared." She continued.

"Your god momma used to be so mad at me too. She would always tell me I needed to find myself and learn my self worth. She would say she was tired of me lowering my standards just to find love again and get over your daddy. She was right too." Kourtney told her daughter.

"So what happened then? What made you have a change in heart?" Jourie questioned.

"I stopped trying to be in a relationship and I focused on myself. I was living the single life, and focusing on school to keep me occupied. A few months passed and by then kamaria and Samir had got together so I barely saw her, but I was always happy for her wishing I could find love as pure as theirs. Then all of a sudden your dad wrote me a letter." She had jourie sitting on the edge of her seat.

"It was two pages long, and he was basically apologizing for how things left off between us. He was telling me that he wanted us to be better, and that he was willing to do anything to prove that to me if I gave him a chance and forgave him. And I wrote him back a long letter too expressing that I had already forgiven him and I expressed how my love for him just made me so crazy sometimes but I was working on it. I remember like yesterday." Kourtney twisted her wedding ring around her finger.

"From then on out he would write back occasionally, and I would always write him right back. He was showing me how much he wanted us to work. His actions were speaking for him, he was showing how committed he was to us being better. And girl when he got home I felt like a fool because he took me outside and I swear it took me nothing but three minutes before I was back in his arms like I never left. I thought my bestfriend was gonna tell me how stupid I looked, but she never looked down on me. And we've been together ever since and he's never cheated again. So what I'm trynna tell you that it's very much possible. He just needed to want to change. I couldn't force him to be what I wanted, he needed to make that decision on his own." She felt like she had just taught her daughter one of the most valuable lessons of life that a mother could ever teach.

"My love for y'all relationship just grew ten times larger." Jourie admitted. She'd always thought that they had always been the perfect relationship, but finding out that that too went through ups and down had her looking on the upside.

She didn't know how to feel, because her mothers story reminded her of her and bam, but she felt like it was way too late to come back from what they had been through.

Bam tried to show her how much he cared about her and would do anything for her to take him back, just like her dad did to her mom, but unlike her mom she didn't forgive him. She used him for what she felt like he was good for, before he got tired of it decided to just break it off completely.

Now she was afraid it was too late for them.

"So with all of that, how you you think your gonna handle your situation with genesis?" Kourtney questioned. She was curious. If only she knew the truth, if she ever found out genesis gave her chlamydia there would be literal hell to pay about her daughter.

"Huh? Who?" Jourie asked , "oh yeah. Genesis." She remembered. She honestly had forgotten him for a moment and had now been thinking about bam instead.

Now she was back to reality. Her current boyfriend had given her chlamydia and she had no idea how she wanted to to handle it.

"I don't really know. I wanna just ask him about it and see if he lies. Maybe we'll talk it out or maybe I'll think it's not worth it. I'm not sure yet." Jourie responded after she took a moment to get her thoughts in order.

She had to remember who this was really about. Plus, she currently had a STI and it still hadn't really processed to her. She couldn't believe it was real. She kept telling herself that she would be waking up soon but it never came.

As many precautions she took in order to prevent this from happening it still did. "Well when it goes down call me after and let me know what happened." Kourtney stood from her seat. "You want some tacos baby?"
Kourtney asked her looking back to eye her.

"Yes please." Jourie nodded her head since the meat smelled so good. Her mom knew how to make some bomb tacos . She dressed them up perfectly and it would be like heaven in her mouth.

Kourtney fixed their food, plus an extra plate and wrapped it in foil before sitting it in the microwave.

The two sat at the table and caught up with each other for a little while, and jourie was pleased to hear some of the stuff her mother told her.

She missed being around her family, and she decided that she needed to learn how to divide her time equally so she could prevent the strain on her relationships.

Her father eventually walked in the house wearing his normal tshirt and pants attire even though he was coming back from work. He wore whatever he wanted too.

"Hey baby," zayden leaned down kissing Kourtney on the lips, and jourie watched them intently.

"What's up AJ? Thought you forgot about my ass." Zayden leaned and kissed her on the cheek, and she laughed but he was completely serious.

He rarely seen her these days and he didn't like that. Jourie was a daddy's girl that was for sure so he didn't like the change.

"I've been super busy lately daddy." She told him taking a bite out of her taco, nodding in approval. She was lying but she didn't want to have the conversation.

"You can miss me with the bull. I'm smarter than to believe that." Zay shrugged his shoulders opening the microwave. "This smell good baby." He grabbed his plate and Kourtney laughed.

Jourie noticed how she still did those little things after years of marriage, and to think just like her she had been cheated on before. Her mindset had her so brainwashed to thinking that if you were cheated on it would never work ever again, but she was realizing that if you tried it was possible.

Kourtney and zayden were basically still in their honey moon phase, and they had been through thick and thin together and still were rock solid.

She yearned for that type of love , and she wondered if she gave genesis the chance to love her and she learned to love him back that would work out between them.

She finished eating before she said her goodbyes to her parents and made her way back to Genesis' apartment. She was dreading the conversation but she didn't want to sweep it under the rug either.

She stuck her key in-. the hole, entering the apartment and closed the door behind her. She trudged to the room that she shared with her boyfriend, and he was laying on the bed watching TV.

His eyes shifted to her, but she could tell he was ignoring her when he didn't say anything and looked back at the TV. That would've bothered her any other time, but nine times out of ten she was way more angry about her situation than what ever he had an attitude about.

She hung her purse up, and removed her shoes lifting her shirt from over her head.

"So, where you been jourie? I asked how long you was gon' be and you said a hour and a half at most, but it's been four hours. And when I called you my shit went straight to voicemail." Genesis started once he realized she wasn't going to ask him what was wrong.

"Okay, I'm sorry my phone died. I ended up going to my momma house after instead because I'm never over there anymore. I do have a family you know." She reminded him, starting to pace back and forth.

Genesis honestly didn't buy it though. "You fucking cheating on me jourie?" He had no problem asking her , because if he wanted to know he would never be hush mouth about it. She liked that about him sometimes but times like this she wanted to slap him.

"Bitch am I cheating on you?! How about are you cheating on me?!" She stopped in place slapping her palm against her exposed thigh.

"Where the fuck you get that shit from? Ian did shit!" He snapped right back tired of her always going so hard and yelling at him. "You the one always flaking. You act like youn even care bout our relationship at times." He pointed out.

"Nigga are you trynna gaslight me?" She questioned him and he groaned throwing his head back. "I got a STD test today, and why am I postive for chlamydia if I'm in a committed relationship only fucking one person." She revealed.

She watched his face drop but he quickly fixed it. "You fucking tell me! Jourie I know you ain't give me no STD. Ion know who the fuck you got that shit from but you jus snitched on yourself." He continued and she was at a lost for words.

"Nigga as much as you piss me off ian never cheated on you. You trynna gaslight me. Why can't you just admit that your the one that fucked up genesis?" She questioned watching him run his temple.

"Jourie I don't know how the fuck you got that. Did you forget that my head too far up yo ass to even see another bitch?" He pointed out and jourie had to think because that was true. "You sure those tests are accurate?" He asked.

"Of course genesis."

"Did they give you medicine for it?" He asked her again and she nodded staring into space. She had no idea what to do or what to think.

"Alright then we gon' get through this together. I never cheated on you jourie." He stood up from the bed, and jourie didn't reply.

When bam cheated on her and she confronted him and he told her the truth straight up, but Genesis wouldnt admit it so she didn't know if he was trying to play mind games on her — or if he was really being truthful and it was a mistake.

He pulled her into him, and started kissing her neck but she moved slightly. "No sex for a month and a half." She pushed him away and he smiled at least happy that she wasn't trying to leave him.

He would take it to the grave.

Another update? Yeah who yk doin it like me???? Mind you nothing is prewritten I'm writing these as I go😭
