JUST CREEPIN'

A'JOURIE WRIGHT
SEPTEMBER 30th; SATURDAY

A'JOURIE ALREADY KNEW that before she attended this months pool party that she would not be a participant in swimming. She had been sitting by the pool the entire time.

Everybody else had a little bit of water action, but she was just chilling the entire time. It was even worse knowing she had a puppy waiting on her at home.

She could already feelings herself becoming obsessed, and she was so excited for the day to be over so they could clean up and head back home.

They still had a few hours left though, and the party was still in full swing as well. "Hey boo," a familiar voice pulled her from her thoughts.

"Bout time y'all got here, I was bored." Jourie frowned, but Samir and kamaria didn't believe her for a second.

"The hell you wanna hang wit us for." Samir frowned right back at her. Jourie didn't know how her god mom put up with him, he always seemed so grumpy.

Of course once getting to know him, you would know he was just a big nice skinny tall teddy bear.

His sons got their height from both of them too, so they were tall as well.

"Cause, yall betta den dese kids." Jourie responded, and she meant it to. She would rather them any day. Half the time you couldn't even tell they were full grown adults anyway.

"Who dog at the house?" Kamaria asked her, sitting next to her on the ledge of the very deep end. She also had her feet in the water as well.

"Mine." Jourie answered, trying to be mindful of how she answered their questions.

Kamaria was too smart for her own good, and they learned that at a young age. If you said one wrong thing she was quick to figure everything out. Jourie always wondered why she wasn't a lawyer instead of settling for a paralegal. She was sure she had the skills.

"Oh? Who got it. I thought the dude had a higher offer." Samir inserted himself since A'jourie had told them what happened. He too was also too smart for his own good. The two were like inspector gadgets.

"Bam ...and Sahid." She found herself lying. It would've been too obvious if he got it himself even though he did. She knew Sahid would cover for bam so she didn't have to second guess it.

"Aww, that was so nice of them." Kamaria smiled softly at jourie. She loved the relationship that all her nieces and nephews plus jourie had. She could have never hoped for anything better. They were like spitting images of them as children.

Samir nodded in agreement to his wife. He knew for a fact his son was never really the generous type if it wasn't his little siblings so he thought it was nice too.

"Yeah, and she's such a cutie too. Her name is star." She continued to smile .

"Yess, that is very cute actually." Kamaria agreed with her.

"You ate? You not hungry?" Samir shifted the conversation. They had only been there for fifteen minutes and had did their rounds with everybody checking on them, he hadn't seen her move once.

"Ion know." She shrugged her shoulders looking at the concession stand. Kymani and kennedi were on duty at the working the window , but nobody was in line so she could clearly see them having a conversation.

"How youn know jourie." Samir straight faced her, "go fucking eat something. You ain't ate all day but sitting out here in the heat." He frowned at her. He hated when she did that. All his kids ate like there was no tomorrow, then there was her. She would only eat once a day if she even remembered to do that.

He had to remind her all the time, and so did bam.

"Okay okay." She threw her hands up in surrender. "Sorry jeez." He bucked her eyes at him standing to her feet.

"And when you done, you on water slide duty." Kamaria reminded her causing her to nod her head.

There was a large blue and white water slide on the deep end, and you could only get on it if you could swim, but the kids usually switched shifts to stand at the top and watch for when people went down and the next person could go, to keep everything in control.

The girl got up for the first time in a while and went to grab her small purse before she made her way to the concession window attached to the large building. "Hey girl, you finally got up." Kennedi spoke first smiling.

"Yeppp." Jourie nodded trying to decide what she wanted. She wasn't very hungry, but she knew once she started eating she would have a change in heart.

"You getting something?" Kymani asked her.

Jourie nodded, "I want nachos." She told them knowing they were six dollars. She reached in her purse but kennedi and kymani were confused knowing they never had to pay for food.

She passed them two tens, "you don't gotta pay." Kymani shook his head, and kennedi nodded her head agreeing.

"I know, this for y'all. Split it." She informed them, and that was all they had to hear. "I want a water too." She added.

Kennedi nodded and walked away leaving kymani. "You know we got sprite right?" He questioned her, since he for a fact knew that was her favorite soda.

"Yeah, but I'm cutting soda out my diet until further notice. Only water, my face is breaking out." She informed him, but he barely understood what that meant. He just nodded.

She stepped aside, retrieving her phone from her purse occupying herself.

"Hey," she was once again pulled from her thoughts and looking up to see a boy standing infront of her.

He had a light brown skin tone and a taper fade with a fresh line up. Since he lacked a shirt she could see the tattoo of a creepy looking joker on his chest, and he had a jokers mouth in his hand as well. He had to be around 5'10 or 11, but she was only 5'6 so it wasn't a huge gap—especially not compared to kamarions 6'4 frame.

"Hi," she smiled nicely giving him her undivided attention.

He knew it was best to start off with what he wanted before he went on. "You got a man?" He looked at the girl with lustfilled eyes.

He had been admiring her all day, but this was the first time she had seen her alone. First she was with two girls. Then a stud looking girl, Then two boys, then two adults.

Jourie almost said yes, and this was what she meant by old habits died hard. "No I don't. Do you have a girlfriend?" She replied playfully making him smile.

"Nope." He responded.

Jourie couldn't help but to wonder why, and she was also judging him by his cover. His tattoos made her feel as if he was a little crazy. The creepy tattoos staring back at her were her evidence.

"So what's up witchu? I'm trynna get to know you." He was happy they were alone. He would've hated to get rejected in front of people if that was the outcome.

Jourie never did see bam looking at her from afar, but he was. His predictions from earlier that day were right, she was entertaining other boys. A few months ago when they were together and he knew for a fact she would've sent him on his way. It was different this time though.

"Well what's your name?" She questioned him.

"You gone make fun of my shit?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"It depends." She told him honestly.

"Well, I'm genesis what about you?" He told her, and she had to pause. It wasn't bad she just never met a boy with that name, only girls.

"Here you go jourie." Kymani grabbed her attention with her nachos in one hand and her water in the other.

"Thank you mani boo, love you." She walked away with gensis hot on her trail.

"So your name jourie? I like that I never heard it before." He kept the conversation flowing waking beside her.

"Yeah, it's actually A'jourie. But jourie for short." She informed him, going under one of the large tall blue tents that had tall tables and tall chairs sitting under them.

"That's what's up, how old are you?" Genesis questioned watching her dip her tortilla chip in the hot cheese sauce. She had a baby face, but the body of a grown woman so he wasn't sure.

"I'm seventeen, and you?" She swung her legs back and forth faithfully.

"I'm eighteen, but I'll be nineteen in a couple months." He Informed her, watching her nod. "So can I get yo number jit?" He questioned her, and she nodded putting her hand out.

He instantly reached in his pocket and retrieved his phone passing it to her, watching her put her number in—before she called herself so she would have his.

"Aight, imma hit you up. Don't be sherm," he stood up from his spot and she smiled wiggling her fingers to wave him bye.

"Did he just call you a damn sherm?" Samirs voice made her jump since she didn't know he was standing behind her.

"That's the same shit I was just finna ask." Kyaire was standing right next to him, and she wondered when he got there.

"Huh?" Jourie was confused on why they seemed like it was offensive.

"Don't huh me, I said did he jus call you a sherm?" Samir repeated, but she was so lost.

"No he said don't be sherm." She reiterated.

"Nahhh, he called her a sherm, slim." Kyaire shook his head at his bestfriend.

"Uncle ky that's just lingo." She informed him since they seemed really offended. They were looking at her like she was crazy.

"Jourie do you even know what the fuck a sherm is?" Samir asked her, but she wasn't aware it had double meanings. "A fucking dope fiend. You ain't no damn sherm head we betta not find out you playing wit no damn Sherms. Betta stop playing wit me—i betta not even find out you know what that shit look like." He fussed and she had to stifle her laugh.

He never rambled but he seemed pretty passionate about what he was saying.

"Okay, I won't let him say that anymore." She swore and he nodded in approval.

They walked away and she shook her head. She hoped that he wouldn't take it that much to heart as much as he seemed to. It would be bad if he already started off on the wrong foot.

"What's wrong wit his grumpy ass." Samaria popped up, taking a seat next to her. She was drenched since she had just got out the pool, but she was having a good time.

"He got mad that this boy said something about sherm, and started going on about how he didn't needed to be calling me that." She shrugged her shoulders, eating another nacho.

"Aww damn." Samaria shook her head , "Don't take it to heart jourie. My papa does sherms, so he kinda take that topic to heart. It's a sore subject." She told her making her feel bad. She didn't know what that meant, but she did hear him say something about a dope fiend.

"Damn I didn't know, what even is that?" Jourie questioned her.

"It's embalming fluid for dead bodies. People dip stuff like cigarettes in it, and smoke it to get high. That's what the term 'wet head' means, since it's wet. Shit is dangerous though." She informed her. Her dad had educated her on it when she found out about her grandpa. It was sad but he was far too gone before anyone found out. Samir tried to help, and put him in rehabilitation but he didn't want any.

He would always check himself out, and even steal from their house. After that, Samir gave up.

"Wow, I've never heard of that before. People do anything to get high." She shook her head.

"Who you telling, I heard someone talking bout sniffing bleach. Like is it really that serious?" Samaria shook her head, "so...you moving on from bam for real this time?" She questioned.

"Chile, I don't know." Jourie muttered with a shrug. "I love your brother but he cheated on me. I'll be a dummy if I go back." She expressed how she was feeling.

"I'm not being biased when I say this, but jourie if you ever decide to take him back I don't think it would be you being a dummy. That's my brother and what he did was fucked up, but Sahid is right. We all see the way he looks at you, and he makes it clear how he feels. I think he was just overwhelmed with eveything. Y'all had been together for a year and a half and he was still your secret. He felt like you were ashamed of him. That doesn't excuse him though." Samaria expressed for the first time since they broke up.

She was always on jouries side, but right now she wasn't on either. She had to tell it how it was.

"If you wanna be with him jourie y'all have to compromise. Yes he cheated on you, and it was foul. But you also played a small part in it too. If you wanna be with him you don't have to let the world know that, but hiding it for over a year is a little extreme too." Samaria gave her something to think about.

"I hate when you put it like that. It just reminds me I was stupid enough to push my nigga into the arms of another bitch." She pouted.

She hated to put it that way , but everytime he wanted to talk about telling his parents or anyone for that matter she always dismissed it.

She never realized he had sought out to find someone else to listen to his problems until he got too carried away and it was too late.

She didn't love him any less, but maybe this time apart would good for them, and it could help them discover what they wanted with each other for real.

LATER .

"Y'all always wanna argue about this shit! She was wrong as hell!" Sahid fussed loudly.

He was lounging on one of the couches with his little cousin Lanayah , while kymani, bam, and jourie took up the other plush couch. Samaria and kennedi had comfortable pallets on the floor.

They were always watching the movie , ATL. Jourie loved it for some reason. It never got old to her.

"She just wanted him to love her for her, and not her money!" Kennedi argued right back with him. They weren't cousins but you could never tell. In fact some people thought they even resembled each other like siblings.

"How would he love her for her if she was faking who she was kennedi! Make it make sense." Lanyah co-signed.

"No real shit, the fake ghetto accent was weird to me especially. But she pulled that bitch off though." Jourie nodded agreeing with Sahid and Lanayah.

"They were both wrong." Kymani shrugged and everybody smacked their teeth looking at him.

"You shut the hell up."

"Shut up mani."

"You don't even know shit."

"Stay in a child's place."

"You broke just like him."

They all spoke at once attacking him. "Hey hey hey! Y'all not talking to my brother like that." Bam fussed at all of them. He swore this movie brought the worse out of all of them.

Jourie looked at bam, since it was the first time he had spoke in a while. He seemed to be in a bad mood but when asked—he said he was fine.

She didn't know what was wrong with him, but she didn't know how to go about it. Her first mind told her to see what was bothering him but her subconscious told her to give him the space she claimed they needed.

"Shut up bam." Lanayah threw a pillow at him and it smacked him in the face.

He didn't even say anything afterwards either. He continued to watch the movie, not socializing with the rest of them. Jourie was sitting right next to him but he wasn't even paying attention.

Even when their Dog Star crawled to his lap, he pet her softly with his enlarged hand but never removed his eyes from the tv.

"I'm finished yall," kamaria spoke from the kitchen referring to the food she had been making for all of them.

"I'm eating first!" Samir lifted his head from the floor since he had been laying with his daughter and niece. He enjoyed hearing them bicker about who was wrong because they sounded like he and their parents did at their age.

"No you not! Kymani and kennedi going first the rest is first come first serve." She replied flippantly responded placing her palm on her hip.

He smacked his teeth as mani and kennedi rushed to the kitchen, but he and the rest of them wasted no time following after. "Really ma, you just had to make tater tot's." Samaria shook her head.

"What? They for me, worry about yourself hater."

They laughed at her, and fixed their food before sitting at the table and eating together.

Once they finished they all parted ways going upstairs to their rooms to call it a night since it was going on 11. Bam was the last one up since he put the food up though.

As soon as he was about to enter his room jourie walked out. She had just put star in her cage but she wanted to have brief moment with him.

"Kamarion, what's wrong?" She questioned him.

He turned his neck, but she knew his next words were going to be a lie. "I'm cool A'jourie. I'm finna go to bed I'm tired." He told her.

"But your lying..." she could read him too well.

He sighed fully turning his body to face her.  He paused looking for his words. "Jourie, I got on my knees and begged you to let me earn yo trust back. When you said okay, I never felt so much relief in my life. But if you just gone keep me in yo pocket while you entertain other niggas until you ready for me again, you can kill it. I know I say the shit a lot, but I'm staring you in your eyes begging for the truth. Do you ever think we'll get back together?" His eyes were glossy as he poured his heart out for what felt like the millionth time.

He didn't want to argue, he just wanted to know if he was doing all this for nothing. He didn't know if he could live without her, but using him until she was finished with him indefinitely would break him worse than he thought was possible. He didn't want that to be his fate.

When she didn't answer he felt like his question was answered. "I love you jourie, but don't get my hopes up if this ain't what you want no more. I fucked up, and I can't blame nobody but myself, but don't string me along." Was the last thing he said before entering his room shutting the door quietly behind him.

It wasn't his intent to flip the scrip and make her feel bad, but his feelings were hurt and he wouldn't deny that. He knew he brought it on himself, and that's why he didn't have anymore arguing in him.

So much went on. Yes he cheated on her, and yes he her god brother. Anymore complaints?!?!!?!! Promise idgaf

Thoughts and predictions?

MYA OUT🫡 damn
