JUST CREEPIN'
A'JOURIE WRIGHT
SEPTEMBER 26th; TUESDAY
"DADDY, I GOT this. How long have I been doing this?" Jourie looked at her father with a stoic expression on her face.
The man looked back at his daughter running his hands over his braids. "Shit ion know, a long time." He shrugged his shoulders.
Sometimes looking at her was scary, she was like a spitting image of him at her age. "Exactly, so back up." She shooed him away, moving the loose strand of hair behind her ear.
She took the electric wrench attaching it to the lug nut to the tire on the blue Nissan Altima that she had been working on since she got from school.
Zayden watched his daughter screw all them back in tightly, before she stood to her full height. "All done." She smiled sweetly.
The girl was dressed in a white wife beater, and black basketball shorts. Her shirt was smeared with old car oil, and black streaks from the tires she had been changing, but it didn't matter really.
When ever she wanted to earn some extra money she would come to her dads auto repair shop and work for him. Just like lanyah, she grew up watching her father work on bikes, motorcycles, cars , and things of the sort.
He eventually opened up his own business like Kyaire did—and zayden, Kyaire, and Samir were all successful living on top of money.
Hence why they had homes built in a new city aside from the one they grew up in. They only moved one city up north to Clearwater. It was ghetto in some parts of the city, but of course they lived in an suburban area.
"Preciate you jourie. That's exactly why yo pay check be lookin nice." He bluffed , roughly pulling his daughter closer to him to ruffle her hair, instantly pissing her off.
"No way you just did something so disrespectful. I don't play about my hair dad. Don't let me tell you again." She glared at him seriously, running her fingers through her silky bundles used for her sew in.
"I'm going back to the reception desk, I need a break and some water." She told her dad, eyeing her dirty hands. This was the only time that she allowed her self to look so messy.
"Alright." He agreed, walking back over to the car he and his employee had been working on. She smiled and turned around heading inside, being hit with the blasting air condition.
"I'm telling you man, now I understand why these girls be lying. I'm finna fuck around and tell her she got me pregnant." She heard the family voice complaining.
She had no choice but to giggle lowly. He said the weirdest things.
"Nigga you a trip." Sahid laughed at his older cousin shaking his head. "Wassup jourie?" He acknowledged her so that his cousin didn't say anything else.
"Hey Sahid. Bam." She rolled her eyes reaching behind the counter in the mini fridge for a bottle of water.
Bam smacked his teeth. "Wassup ma? Imma let the bam shit slide. You trynna take a ride wit us or what?" He revealed the reason they were there.
She eyed him skeptically, "where Samaria?" She raised an eyebrows with a perplexed expression on her face.
"In the car. So that mean you coming?" He tried not to show how happy he was. Despite their history, he loved the girl a lot. He swore if she just gave him one more chance to prove himself he knew it would be worth it.
He knew she wanted him to gain her trust back and he wasn't above doing that. Anybody could call him what they wanted. He had heard it all from his own sister.
She looked him up and down, and sized him rudely. She wanted so bad to say he was ugly or something, but he was the finest person she knew.
"Y'all gone take me home to shower right?" She asked twisting the cap off of her water bottle.
Kamarion licked over his plump lips, eyeing the girl with stars in his eyes. She was so perfect to him. She looked pretty even when she wasn't trying.
"Yeah." Kamarion answered quickly since he knew that would seal the deal.
"Alright." She shrugged. "Imma go let my dad know, and I'll meet y'all out there." She replied, before she turned around.
Sahid looked at his older cousin. "You so pathetic man." He stated shaking his head, following after him as he walked out the front.
"How?" The boy looked ahead. He was really shrugging his cousin off, because nobody but him understood how he felt about the girl, and he didn't care enough to try and make them.
"That girl is over you." Sahid stated, just to see how his cousin reacted. He knew he wasn't fooling anyone though.
Jourie was complex. The only way to know if she cared, was if she acted like she didn't. The moment she would decide to be cordial with him, and push everything behind her, was how they would know she was finished with him for real.
Luckily, it hadn't happened yet, but bam was still afraid his time was approaching. He was trying to do everything in his power to stop it from happening.
"No she not. And stop speaking that into existence. She love me just like I love ha." Bam felt what he was saying in his chest. He knew he wasn't wrong about her.
"Honestly," Sahid started, opening the door behind the passenger seat to slide in because he knew bam would want jourie to sit up front. "I hope y'all work out for real." He admitted.
Samaria looked up from her phone. "Who jourie and my brother?" She asked her big cousin catching the tail of his statement.
"Yeah." He nodded answering her.
"Chile please, my bestfriend is on her way out the door." Samaria waved them off in attempt to get under her brothers skin, which worked.
Samir was very nonchalant, but bam did not get that trait. In fact , he often wore his heart on his sleeve, and expressed how he felt daily. He got that from his mother.
"No the fuck she not. Stop trynna front." Bam frowned looking at his sister through the rearview mirror.
"For real, stop playing with my cousin. He love that girl." Sahid co-signed for his cousin. He had seen kamarion in his element, he could tell the difference with other females and jourie.
"If he loved her he wouldn't have cheated on her for that pretty hood rat with STDs. Bitch got miles on her pussy." Samaria threw a slick shot at her brother.
She loved him to death but to condone in cheating was not something she would do. She was a girl, and she didn't know how it felt but she knew it wasn't right. "I don't know why you thought that shit was okay. If a nigga did that to me you would be ready to knock his head off. So why you get an acceptation?" She raised her eyebrows.
Bam rolled his eyes. One thing he could've never say about his sister was that she was a liar. She would give it to you straight up and honest. If you didn't want to know the truth in fear of your feelings being hurt, she was the wrong one to go to.
Along with that, she was making valid points, and it was causing a headache. He knew if someone did to his sister what he did to jourie it would be hell to pay.
"Can you please just shut the fuck up? You on the outside looking in. You don't even know everything that went down with me and jourie, Samaria." He spoke with irritation laced in his voice.
"Didn't mean to strike a nerve," she said in a mocking manner, widening her eyes and throwing her hands up. "Think about your actions before you do em next time. I wish momma and daddy knew about y'all, they would whoop your ass for cheating on her."
"Shit I wish they knew about us too." He was quick with a snarky retort, silencing the girl.
She rolled her eyes, tending back to her phone causing her older cousin to laugh. "What y'all girls be saying? Gagged." He broke out into more laughter once he was done talking. "Shut that ass right the fuck up."
"Whatever." Samaria rolled her eyes again with more emphasis this time.
Shahid stopped laughing when the car door got opened and he noticed jourie standing there. "Sit in the front." He told her, and she smacked her teeth, looking away before looking back at him.
Bam couldn't even find the words to say because he was so busy starting her down. He knew people would look at him weird if they knew about him and jouries relationship but he honestly didn't care. People could say what they wanted but they didn't know the truth. The two weren't blood related, or step-siblings. They had their own set of and none of them were related. Being his god sister meant nothing to him because that wasn't his fault. If his parents wanted to be her God-parents that was cool, but that wasn't going to stop him from finding love within her if that's what he wanted to do.
He understood if they would've grew up together, and were raised as blood family, but they weren't. He wasn't even around her enough for him to consider her as that.
"Why the fuck I gotta sit in the front Sahid? I know you wasn't sitting back here on your way here." She objected, crossing her arms.
"Okay and?" He responded, tilting her head. "I wanna sit back here with my cousin now, this a free country." He challenged her.
She frowned and slammed the car door in his face. Bam sat up quickly frowning watching her yank the car door open and aggressively sat on the seat.
"Aye girl you lost yo mind slamming my car door like that? This shit expensive." He snapped. The girl bit back a smirk. She knew how much he loved his car.
"Shut your ass up! I know you the one who put him up to this shit anyway." She snapped right back at him.
"Oh my gosh don't tell me y'all finna argue the whole fucking time." Sahid threw his head back. He personally knew his cousin took everything to heart and snapped about the littlest things. He had met his match with jourie though, because he could never get slick without her popping right back off.
"I'm not, fuck him." She crossed her arms bitterly, looking out the window.
He remained quiet for the rest of the ride , but he would always take glances over at her. Eventually he pulled up in front of her house and she quickly got out making sure to slam his door again.
Samaria and Sahid fell over with laughter.
Kamarion scoffed under his breath, but bit his tongue and turned his car off. The three of them got out, and bam led the way up to the nice sized home walking in freely.
"Who is that!" Kourtney could be heard shouting since she knew her daughter just walked through the door.
"It's us." Bam replied simply, making his way to the steps and up them quickly, towards the room she shared with her husband zayden.
"Hey boy, where yo momma." She looked up from her arms that she was rubbing cocoa butter only faithfully. Just like jourie, Kourntey was big on her appearance and keeping up with herself. She had been that way since she was young.
"She and my dad down at the rec center." He responded , sitting at the edge of the bed. Samaria and Sahid followed after him, and greeted her as well.
"What y'all up to? I thought jourie had to work."
"Yeah we went and got her to chill." Samaria answered.
"Y'all better not be doing nothing yall not supposed to. Why y'all can't just hang out at the rec like other kids y'all age. That's what yo dad had it built for." She looked between kamarion and Samaria.
"I'm grown." Sahid and bam spoke in sync.
She smacked her teeth. "Bam you turned nineteen last month and Sahid you turned nineteen last week. Miss me with that. And y'all ain't gotta go to college? Live your teenage life instead of trynna grow up so fast." She lectured.
"Everybody yall age hang there, except for y'all. Y'all should be the mains ones there but y'all act like it got the plague." She frowned. She knew how hard her bestfriend and her bestfriends husband worked to open the recreation center for all ages.
What surprised them was that even the older teens between 16 and 19 hung there the most. It costed three dollars to get in or you could get a memebership, and it had all kinds of programs and inclusions. An after school program, Basketball team, dance team, gymnastics, a pool, a teen lounge, kids lounge, a inside playground and an outside playground and even a exercise gym. You could even get food there. It was the hook up so kids often found their self being there.
It was Samirs main income, and he made a lot of money. From memberships, dance fees, basketball fees, gymnastics fees, after school program fees, swim team fees, and event fees. They always had different events occurring. That was how their family had so much money.
What bothered Kourtney was that the kids that the entire establishment was made for, and based off of barely stepped foot in the place.
"Aye look, we love the rec, but people always want the hook up cause our people own it. It get draining. We still go and chill wit everybody else there." Bam responded knowing it looked bad.
"Yeah whatever." She didn't believe him.
"Matter of fact, we'll go there today." Samaria promised and the other two nodded agreeing. They couldn't lie it was fun, they just didn't want to be bothered by beggars. They swore you had to be famous to have Groupies, but obviously not.
"Good. Now what's this I been hearing about my baby fighting over boys?" She lowered her voice. She didn't want to believe it when she heard it, because fighting over boy was not worth it, but the scratches on her face told the story clearly.
Samaria side eyed bam who grew extremely quiet.
"Chile these girls be crazy with they accusations. She thought jourie was messing with that boy and that's all she needed to know. She really be antagonizing my girl over that ugly boy." Samaria was quickly to throw strays.
"But my baby wasn't messing with him right? Cause ion play like that. I almost had to whoop Sahid mama ass for man stealing." Kourtney rolled her eyes.
"Yo why you gotta bring me in this?" Sahid found himself laughing at how petty Kourtney was. Kamaria never had an issue remaining quiet about his mother and their relationship around Sahid, but Kourtney didn't care.
"Girl jourie ain't steal nobody man." Samaria rolled her eyes because technically she had bam first. She didn't want to get to deep and have Kourtney asking more questions.
If she got the right amount of answers she would put it together in no time.
"Oh okay, then that's good." Kourtney nodded feeling relief. She didn't want her daughter growing up like the girls she didn't like at her age. "Well, I gotta go check my salon so I'll stop by the center after." She stood to her feet referring to the hair salon she bought and had now owned for six years.
She loved being the boss too, she was the head of everything.
"Okay, and when you can do me a retwist?" Bam threw in there. He usually got one every two months, because he was surrounded by girls that could do them. His mom, his sister, jourie, and of course Kourtney. He liked when Kourtney did them best because she was the actual professional.
"I'm booked up all week at the shop, catch me on Saturday or Sunday." She gathered her purse.
"But we having our pool party at the rec Saturday." Bam reminded her. That was another thing he liked about his family owning the place. Him, his cousins, and siblings were known for throwing pool party's once every month from March to October and everybody always attended.
It was their side hustle, and Samir always let them keep the money they made from events, and split amongst them because they also threw parties too. It was a win win for them and Samir since they got money and his rec got recognition. Along with that, the purpose of it was to have something for all ages to do to stay out of trouble so they didn't end up like him or bam.
"Oh yeah you're right. Okay I'll clear my schedule for Saturday so I can be there, and I'll do your hair Sunday so the chlorine won't mess it up." She put her purse on her shoulder.
"Okay." He nodded since that sounded good to him.
After that, Kourtney said her byes to all of them, and they left the room behind her. "Tell jourie to lock my door when y'all leave!" She shouted before the front door could be heard.
"I'm so ready for this party man, I swear once a month ain't enough." Sahid spoke. "And I know them girls be wanting my sexy dark ass."
"They be wanting my sexy dark ass too, but I'm taken." Bam shrugged carelessly.
"Nigga you brown." Samaria cackled at her brother, dramatically slapping her hand against her knee.
"Racist." Bam side eyed his sister, causing her to laugh even more at his conclusion.
"I'm just keeping it real." She responded, "I was gonna clown you for saying you taken but I'll let you have it." She waved him off. She liked his work ethic, she just wished he wasn't in the position he was in, in the first place.
He was determined to get her back though and he didn't mind proving that.
Love his effort🌚 they be humbling him though
