Prologue
Okay, so right off the bat, before we begin, this is essentially somewhat connected to my Helluva Boss story. Except the main character isn't an assassin and... ya know what, let's get into this.
Now that we're finally gonna be seeing Hazbin Hotel next year, so let's get prepared for when it does come.
In the alleyway of an unnamed street, there was a table set up as a woman walked up to it, then someone with a dark hoodie, white mask, and black gloves walked up before tossing a bag on the table.
"SOoooo..." The woman says. "Resorting to drug dealing now, hmmm?"
"... Bitch you're the one who came to get drugs. Why are you asking me?" The boy behind the mask says. "Listen, school is getting more expensive, so I needed to branch off a bit." He looked around. "Are you sure you weren't followed?"
"Oh well... I think so."
"Well, do you think so, or do you know so? I'm not selling till I know for sure."
"Yes, darling, I'm pretty sure... can I have drugs now?"
"Well pretty sure isn't the same as completely sure. Were you followed or not?"
"JUST GIVE ME MY DRUGS! SHIT FACE!" She screamed while smacking the table.
"SH SH SH SH! SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU DUMB BITCH!"
"Too late." They turned and saw a pair of officers. "We heard everything."
"Yeah, so suck it!" The other officer says. "Also, we followed that woman here."
"What the fuck!" The boy yelled before seeing the woman gone.
"Adios, dickweed!" She called from the rooftop before she ran off.
"Come with us peacefully or we will use police brutality."
They stared for a moment... then the cops pulled out their guns and started shooting. The boy ducked and took out an AK before firing on them. One of the cops was shot dead while the other took cover.
"This is Officer Clip Clop! We need backup!"
Then suddenly a whole swat team appeared out of nowhere. The boy stared before using a smoke bomb and disappearing.
(A factory in the middle of practically nowhere)
After escaping, the boy came through the janitor's closet of the building, knocking a few things over before slamming the door shut. He huffed as he leaned against the door puffing in annoyance as he stood up, pulling his hood down, revealing his brunette hair and taking the mask off, adjusting his glasses.
This boy was Max Parkson. Why would a young boy like him be in a situation like this? Well, let's just say that things happened and leave it at that. He sighed before he began walking through the hall, walking past a room that had workers putting together drugs of all kinds. Ya, I'm not brave enough to search up what a drug lab actually looks like even with incognito.
"Mr. Parkson!" He heard before turning to a woman approaching him. "Thank goodness you're back. How did the trade go?"
"Well, it was a bust. The dumbass customer didn't make sure she wasn't followed, and the cops ruined it again." The boy explains.
"Oh, well, here." The woman then handed him a phone. "Your sister Daphne called recently. She's worried about you."
"Thanks for letting me know, Ms. Amber. Anything else to update?"
"Not much. No one seems to have come around lately, and production is coming along greatly."
"Again, thanks for the info. Keep it up." He says as the woman nodded and left as he stopped and leaned against the wall.
He then went into his phone and went to facetime. It rung for a bit, before it picked up, showing a silver-haired woman in a suit.
"Hey, little bro. How are you doing?" The woman says.
"Doing good, Daphne. Kinda pissed off at the moment." He tells her. "Lost a customer cause her dumbass let herself get followed by the cops, and now I need to find a new place to sell these things."
"I still think being a fulltime technician would do better."
"Not after last time."
"Still have yet to tell me about 'last time'."
"Don't worry about it. I'm gonna be fine-"
"You literally could get killed doing this job. I know you're prepared, but do you expect me not to be worried?"
"Eh..." Max looked into one of the rooms where people were putting together drugs. "Fair enough, but I know the risks and I'm always prepared."
"Fine." The woman sighed. "Still, be careful."
"I will."
"Mr. Parkson!" He turned his head and saw a man running in his direction. "Mr. Parkson!"
"This is probably important. See you back at home." He says back into the phone.
"Okay, bye. Love you little bro."
"Love you too." He hung up.
"Mr. Parkson!" The man caught up. "We uh... got someone in front of the lab."
"What?" Max says before following the man.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience." He says before opening the door to the security room.
"It's fine, Mr. Jonhson. Who is it we're dealing... with-What the hell is up with him?" Max says while pointing at a guy in one of the chairs while was shaking violently while looking around in every direction.
"Oh yeah. Sorry, Mr. Oxlong here got into some meth earlier."
"I'M TELLING YA! I SAW THEM! The bear, the rabbit... I SAW IT ALL!" The shaking man screamed.
"... Right... well the guy at the door?" The boy asked the normal guy.
"Of course." The man explained before going to the monitor and turning it to face him.
"LET ME IN! I WANT DRUGS!" Some guy who was banging on the front door screaming.
"He found us!?" Max groaned in annoyance. "Alright, hang on." He then pulled out a pistol and clicked it. "I'll take care of him."
The man sighed before looking back at the screen. "Uh, sir. We've got a new problem."
"What is it-?"
"FBI! OPEN UP!" The boy's eyes widened before he looked back at the screen and seeing the po po at the door. "I SAID OPEN UP!"
"Oh fuck..." Max says before looking around. "Johnson, sound the alarm!" He yelled before running off.
Johnson nodded before looking at Oxlong who was still shaking. He just waved it and toss the monitor before going to the emergency button and pulling out the keys to try and open it. The boy just appeared in front of one of the doors and slammed it open.
"SHUT IT DOWN! CODE RED! CODE RED! BURN THE EVIDENCE AND RUN!" He practically screamed out before running off as everyone started running around while screaming in fear.
Then the alarm came on. "Emergency! Please, gather the emergency gasoline and spread it around! Afterward, evacuate through the back in an orderly fashion! This is not a drill! Repeat, this is not a drill!" Johnson yelled through the speakers.

"Is that all of it?" Max asked while holding an empty gas can.
"That's all of it!" Johnson says while emptying the last of his can.
"Alright, and is everyone accounted for?"
"Uh..." The man looked back into the crowd, seeing everyone... including Mr. Oxlong who was still shaking. "... Fortunately." He says in a disappointed tone.
"Good. Everyone, stand back!" Max called as the crowd took a step back.
He took out a match box and lit one before looking forward. He took in the sight of the lab, hesitating for a moment. A single tear came out of his eyes before he dropped the match and the trail lit.
"3..." Members of the FBI called, ready to bust the door down. "2..."
They didn't finish as an explosion blew them back. Many fell to the ground, shaking about as they were on fire. One got up and looked back at where the explosion came from. His fists shook before he screamed in anger and went around, starting to beat on the trucks, denting a few of them, before punching one of his men who fell back down.
At a distance, the group watched as the lab started to burn and fall down. Some were a little sad, others were disappointed. None were as emotional as Max who was silently crying at the sight.
"There goes months of hard work... all down the drain like that." He says as Johnson and Amber gave him back pats.
(A week later)
In the alleyway of the street of Knowonekars Avenue, Max was waiting behind a dumpster with his mask on and his hood up. After a bit, a guy his age walked in backwards while looking around.
"Hey, you got the goods?" He asked while holding up cash.
The masked boy nodded before taking out a zip lock bag. The other boy's lip curled at the sight.
"Is that all I'm getting for my money's worth?" He snarled.
"Look, I don't have much. Take it or leave it."
The boy huffed before giving the money, taking the zip lock and walking off. Max counted the money and sighed before putting it away and running off. As soon as he found himself in the clear, he slowed down while taking his mask off before hiding it and pulling down his hood to avoid suspicion.
He came to a relatively normal sized house that didn't look run down but didn't look perfect. He took out his keys and unlocked the door before going inside.
"I'm home!" Max called.
"Hey, you're back!" A man with black hair called from the couch with a smile. "How did go?"
"Went about as well as it could, Yuri." He explained. "The guy wasn't exactly pleased, but I made the deal."
"But you didn't get hurt, right?" A blonde girl says while peeking out from the kitchen.
"No, Allia. I didn't get hurt." He waved. "How was babysitting?"
"It's been fine. But there seem to be less people needing someone to watch their kids these days." She tells her. "Kazu seemed to have fun with the kids this time though." She then tilted her head in the direction of a little boy sitting at the table in the dining room, eating cereal.
"Hi, Kazu." Max waved as the kid waved back with a smile.
"By the way, Max, can you uh..." Allia says while looking a little embarrassed. "Come fix the microwave again?"
"It broke again?" The boy groaned in annoyance before opening a nearby closet and pulling out a toolbox and going to the kitchen. "Okay, I'll get to it."
"I should be getting back on shift the day after tomorrow. I'm getting a raised, so we should be getting closer to moving soon." Yuri explained as he changed the channel.
"Good to know. I've got one more meetup with someone today, hopefully it works out." The younger boy says which causes the other three to look worried as he continued fixing the microwave.
"Hey, uh, Max?" The man says while leaning over to look at the boy as best as he could. "Do you need me to come with you for this? I can come if you want."
"No, I'm good. I can do this."
"Seriously, people are starting to get pretty aggressive now these days. I don't think going by yourself is a good idea."
"I think you should let Yuri come with you. He's not wrong." Allia explains.
"I know. Trust me though, the guys that buy this shit from me aren't exactly the gym types. At best they'll be a minor pain." Max explains before he stopped. "Alright, this thing's finished. It's gotta be thrown out."
"What?"
"Yeah, this thing's far too old and busted to be repaired anymore. Does the stove still work?" He asked, getting a nod in return. "Alright, we'll have to rely on that until then."
"Still are you sure you can't just call one of the people that used to work for you?" The blonde asked.
"Unfortunately, nether of half of them have called or bothered to pick up." He shows his phone. "The half who have, seemed to have moved on to better things."
"Really? But they've been working for you for so long."
"Allia, three months is not as long as you think." He explained before heading for the closet and going through it.
"Look, Max, maybe Daphne is right. Maybe focusing on being a fulltime technician would work better for now. Much safer anyway." Yuri tries to tell him.
"I would if I could, but barely anyone has something to be repaired now these days. More people come to this town for drugs than anything else, so unless another drug dealer shows up, this is the best I got." The boy took out drugs and put them in his hoodie.
"We're just worried about you. We don't want you to get hurt."
"I know." He says before giving the man a reassuring smile. "Hey, haven't gotten killed yet, have I? Again, don't worry. I'll be fine. Be back in a bit." He says while heading outside.
As he closed the door, Yuri looked worried, only sighing and slumping back on the sofa. Allia was the same before she opened the fridge and put the leftovers, she planned to heat up back in the fridge. Kazu looked a little sad before picking up his teddy bear and hugging it.
Outside, Max was leaning his forehead against the door. He sighed as he stood up before taking running off and putting his mask and hoodie up.
'Just a little longer.'
He made it back to Knowonekars Avenue and looked around before checking in a different alley that was basically a dead end. And there were three guys waiting. With a sigh, he did the sign of the cross... ironic, and walked in.
"Hey, you guys ordered something... green?" He says.
"Yeah, we sent one of our boys to paid you in advance. Just give hand it over." One of the men says.
The boy nodded before taking out a small box and tossed it at them. The man looked annoyed before opening and looking in. Then he glared at the masked boy.
"Is this it? This shit ain't nothing." He says in annoyance.
"Look man, I don't got much more."
"Seriously? What are we supposed to do with this?"
"I'm trying alright. My business has gone downhill recently, I can't give you anymore."
"Pfft, whatever. Give me half my money back then."
"I don't have it."
The man got pissed and stood up, ready to walk over to him. "Then give me whatever you have left."
"Sorry, not gonna happen."
Max says, ready to leave before he got sucker punched back into the alley.
"Oh you thought, you could leave just like that?"
He was then punched again as the rest of the group started to approach. He fended them off, throwing punches that connected with some of them, only receiving more in return. He landed one haymaker that gave him an opening and he ran further inside the alley behind the dumpster.
"Yeah, not so tough now, huh?" He heard while pulling out his tommy gun. "Little fucker!"
One of them kicked the dumpster which flung him forward, dropping the gun. He got up and was about to grab it before he was kicked in the face, making the mask fly off.
"Haha, look at this." One of the men says while picking up the firearm. "Yeah, can't get us enough weed, yet you got something this good." He heard the click as he got on his elbows while looking away to keep his now bruised face covered. "Too bad you decided to rip us off."
Max froze in place, squinting his eyes, expecting it to be over just like that. It finally happened. He finally got in over his head and now here he was about to die. Not getting to see his siblings one last time, and doing the one thing that will ensure he won't be going anywhere nice.
His thoughts were cut off when he suddenly heard a bursting noise behind him, then screaming. He heard shots fired from his gun before sounds of ripping and splatters cut through it. He could feel something warm and wet splat onto his body.
Then the screams were cut off as something flew across his body, hitting the wall before falling down in front of him. Hesitating, he put on his glasses and looked up, nearly screaming as he got fell back on his ass as he looked down at the main guy cut in half, bits of blood splattered on the boy's face and his entrails spread out from his below his torso.
He looked fearful as he heard crunching from behind... not wanting to turn around, but afraid to stay where he was. It was topped off with some slurping as he slowly and shakily turned behind him.
He saw what appeared to be some kind of demonic being wiping his face with a handkerchief. Gray skin... red hair... red suit... red eyes... some deer antlers and ears... a black tentacle disappearing from his back... and to top it off, a wide grin with sharp, yellow teeth that brought dread.
It slowly turned and stared at him, his grin only widening as he stepped closer. Max only stared, frozen in fear, not knowing what to do. This thing... it was gonna go for him next, he knew it.
His eyes then darted down to the ground. His tommy gun was lying there, probably dropped from all that he didn't see. It was his only chance, he had to take it. The demon thing was reaching his hand out, probably to do what he had done to the others. He had to act now.
"Hello, young ma-"
Max grabbed the gun and blasted the demon with bullets, causing it to fall onto its back, not stopping until he was out. Whatever it was, now lied on the ground with so many bullet holes in its body, bleeding black.
He sat there, huffing and puffing while still holding the smoking gun. Now that he wasn't shooting rounds, he could now hear his heart beating rapidly and squint his eyes, breathing in through his nose and exhaling through his mouth slowly. His heart started to slow until he was now calm.
After all that happened, Max slowly opened his eyes and looked forward, still seeing the corpse of the demon thing there. He then looked around, seeing the bodies of the guys that came to the deal strewn about in pieces. Blood covering the walls of the alley.
This shocked him to say the least. He has seen his fair share of carnage, but not to this degree. Still, that was the least of his worries. As soon as he heard sirens, he quickly picked up his bloodstained mask and getting up, limping a bit.
He pushed the dumpster to the latter of the building and climbing up it onto the roof. Getting behind the edge and sitting there, resting a bit. As he heard the car pull up, he could only hope they wouldn't find him.
"What the hell? What is this?" He heard one of the cops say.
"I don't know, looks like... is this a setup or something?" He got confused by what the other cop says and leaned over to take a look.
"No, don't you smell that? This is real blood."
"Without bodies?"
"Maybe they knew they didn't have time or something?"
"But how is there so much?"
He was surprised when he looked down and saw them walking around the alley. It was still covered in blood, but all the bodies were gone, leaving the cops confused.
The boy was taken aback as well. There's no way someone could have cleared it that quickly.
Then as he looked to one of the walls, he saw a strange silhouette take form. Two eyeholes opened up before a familiar smile soon appeared as well, before it waved at him.
His eyes widened at the sight before he frantically got up, wincing from the pain of his leg, but not caring. Going to the other side of the building and using the gutter pipe to slide down before he started booking it as fast as he could.
Max didn't know what that thing was, didn't know what he had just been pulled into, but didn't care and just kept running, and running, and never stopped.
To be continued...
