Chapter 42 pt 2: Operation Perfection

(Megan POV)

"Ow! Oi, blondie, do you fucking mind?" I growled at my captor, feeling the grip he had on my neck tighten.

"This is your own fault. Disobedience is guaranteed to be punished." He told me blankly.

"I WAS NEVER OBEDIENT TO YOU--!"

"And that's exactly why you've been suffering so much!"

I stared at him in disbelief "Would you just let a bunch of crazy people run tests on you and treat you like some sort of LabRat?!"

"If I was one of you, then yes. I'd accept that there is no place for an Artemus in this world, and I'd be willing to take the responsibility of my father's sins!" Aries snarled, slamming and pinning me against a wall "Your family is a spiteful, parasitic, pointless use of space on earth! The only good you can do is help us fix the world! You're purpose is to finish what your bastard of father started!"

His breath was ragged, and his eyes were clouded with pain and rage as tears slowly fell from them. I stared up at him, mouth fallen agape and lip quivering as I had watch him slowly lose his composure in front of me. I knew that face. It was the face I had seen on myself so many times before. He was lost, and he was hurting. The hatred he had for my family was clear. The hatred he had for my father was clear.

I began to piece everything together.

"Who was it?"

His eyebrows furrowed further "The hell are you--"

"Who did you lose to my father's twisted experiments?" I asked him, my face solemn.

"HA! You seriously think I'm doing this for revenge? You seriously think I've lost someone to Benjamin Artemus?!" He cackled, his grip tightening on my wrists as his icy blue eyes pierced through me. However, I didn't falter.

"No." I replied softly "I know you have. It's clear in your eyes."

His laughter stopped, and he leaned in so our faces were inches apart "Don't you dare pity me, Artemus. If it weren't for you, I'd still have my Grampa. You have no idea what I went through once that article came up on the news. You have no idea the pain I felt when my parents got that phone call saying he was gone! You have no idea how it feels to see your grandfather's dead body on a bed, mangled and deformed with his very own Ampharos!" He stopped, taking both of my hands in one of his so he could wipe his eyes "I lost someone important to me, in the most agonizing way possible! BECAUSE OF THE ARTEMUSES! AND NOW, THEY'LL ALL BE VICTIMS TO THE RESULT OF THEIR WORK!"

Poor boy...

I clenched my jaw, feeling his pain radiating through my body As I whispered "I'm sorry. I wish I could've helped you."

In an instant I was clawing at his hands as they gripped my throat, wincing in pain at the suffocating pressure.

"Shut. Up." Aries spoke coldly, causing a chill to run up my spine. He threw me onto the floor, earning a gasp from me. "You're not sorry. You're just like him."

"Aries, that's enough." A familiar voice called from down the hall, and Capricorn emerged from the shadows "We don't want you spilling too much information on her, she hasn't met the boss yet."

(Green POV)

"So many halls!" I groaned, throwing my head back and gripping my hair with my hands. Red sighed next to me, still keeping an eye out for the door we were looking for. Or for any scientists. I don't get how he can be so calm through all this. Heck, I don't think there's been a time when he's not calm.

"Hey, Red."

He let out a hum

"How do you feel about this? I know You didn't know Megan, Luke and Laura as much as Sun and the others, but are you worried about them?" I asked, turning my head to the male. He responded by giving me a 'duh' expression. I pursed my lips together, proceeding to ask another question "Well, what do you think's gonna happen after this?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Like, of course the three will need time to recover after they're saved, and we'll have to work hard to make sure Alola calms down. Then there's Leven's trial, and probably the other scientists too if we can round them up. But... I can't help but wonder, will anything be the same?" I looked up to stare at the ceiling "This whole ordeal has affected this region for years, even after the causer died. Plus it's so much different from anything else we've faced before... I just... I hope it doesn't leave permanent scars over Alola, ya know?"

Red was silent, as usual, but he actually seemed to be taking my words into consideration. He placed a hand to his chin, his eyes squinting as if to think of an answer. After a moment he turned to me again, and opened his mouth as if to speak.

Oh my Arceus he's gonna say something.

He let out a breath, before letting out the first word I had heard him say in ages.

"I-"

He cut himself off, snapping his head forward to stare at something. I followed his gaze, my eyes landing on a large metal door. The one we had been looking for.

"Oh come on! Now?!" I yelled, throwing my arms out in front of me "I was just about to get a sentence out of Mr. No Speak over here, and now you show up?!"

"Stop yelling... It's a door..."

"Shut up, Red! I-" I gasped, turning towards the boy next to me with my mouth fallen agape "Did... Did you just..."

Red only shrugged, a smirk gracing his lips before pressing forward. My eyes followed, still wide from shock.

"W-Wait hold up!" I shouted, sprinting to his side "You're telling me that after saying the first six words to me in ages, you're gonna go back to mute?!"

He nodded.

"Not cool, man!"

(Luke POV)

"How's your gut?" I muttered weakly, turning my head to glance at my sister. Neither of us had moved since Aries zapped us, as it was hell for our limbs if we even tried.

Laura groaned, back still turned to me "He's not as puny as I thought..."

"Yeah I think I kinda got that impression from the blow. Usually you don't let a simple punch bring you to your knees." I teased.

"Piss off..."

...

"I hope she's okay..." Laura murmured, breaking the silence. All irritation had left her voice, replacing it with slight worry "Aries did seem pretty pissed off..."

I looked down sadly "She took matters into her own hands in order for us all to escape, something we haven't been able to do the entire time being trapped in here..."

"Maybe losing her kid was a wakeup call?"

I flinched, gritting my teeth from the reminder. "Regardless, the others should arrive soon."

"Actually, they're already here."

"Huh?"

Laura and I whipped our heads round towards the bars, finding two familiar-ish faces waving at us from the other side.

"Red? Green?" I called out, actually managing to push myself up into a sitting position. Green put a finger to his lips, shushing us softly.

"We're busting you out." He told us with a grin, taking out a pokeball and tossing it in the air "Go, Machamp!"

The fighting type burst out, flexing his four arms and letting out a mighty yell.

"You might want to cover your eyes for this." Green warned "Machamp use Cross Chop!"

"Ma-Champ!"

With one movement, the bars holding us split into many pieces and fell to the floor with a clang. Laura and I stared at the opening, grins slowly forming on our faces. But unfortunately, our mood was ruined, as my sister had yelled a loud "Watch out!"

Machamp swung his arms round quickly, catching a large serpent-like Pokemon's tail before she could attack him. It was a Milotic, and she looked shocked that Machamp was so quick to block. Red turned his head to glare down the corridor, before sprinting around the corner and leaving us confused.

"Hey! Let me go you moron!"

"Huh?" Green, Laura and I questioned. Red soon came back into view, and was now dragging a short orange haired girl by the arm. Aquarius. She was thrashing around, screaming at Milotic to save her. Not that the poor thing could do much anyway, as it's long body was still in Machamp's strong grasp.

"Minor setback, but whatever." Green shrugged, before commanding Machamp to use poison jab on Milotic. It was a one-hit-kill. "Okay, now that's settled, let's go find your sister."

"Wait, what about our mother?!"

"Your what now?"

"Our mother." Laura repeated "Were not leaving without her!"

Red and Green said nothing for a bit, exchanging glances and mouthing a silent conversation on what to do. Finally they sighed, and turned to us with small smiles.

"Alright, let's go get her. Can you stand?"

(Megan POV)

"Let me go!" I snapped, fighting against the harsh grasps of the two males as they pulled me down the corridor. After Capricorn showed up I had been cuffed and shoved around, so I was pretty sure escaping was out of the question.

Anyway, wherever we were going, it must've been pretty damn far from the cells as we had been walking for at least fifteen minutes. However, my heartbeat was becoming more noticeable as it pounded against my chest, showing I wasn't at all calm.

"Move." Aries growled, pushing me forward some more. I winced at his harsh touch.

My family name is nothing but a bad memory to him... reason isn't something he'll listen to. Damn it.

Soon a pair of doors came into view, which Capricorn and Aries stopped in front of. Capricorn reached out past me to knock, before retracting his hand and waiting for an answer.

"Come in." A low, cold voice commanded From the other side.

Aries and Capricorn pulled me forward, pushing the doors open with their shoulders to enter a large empty, dimly lit room. In the middle was a hooded man, and next to him was a powerful looking Dusknoir which looked like he was ready to attack me if given command. The males restraining me suddenly placed a hand on my shoulders, and violently pushed me down to my knees.

"Boss." Aries called out to the man "We brought her."

That's the boss?!

The man began to slowly turn around until he faced me, showing that his face was hidden by a hood. I gulped, for even though I couldn't see it, I could still feel his cold gaze on me.

"Ah, Megan right?" The man spoke deeply "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

Despite feeling uneasy I glared back at him "I think you and I have different definitions of 'meet'."

Aries smacked me round the head "Don't speak to the boss that way!"

"Aries." The man called out, raising a hand to signal the blonde to stop. He then turned to me, his smirk only just visible "So you have a smart mouth too, huh? Your siblings spoke in a similar way to me when we had our first encounter."

I growled "Can we just get to the point? Why are we here?"

He gave me a twisted grin "It's because you've been a naughty girl, my dear. Running away from home, kissing boys, making a baby. And now when I try to correct your mistakes, you turn two of my own employees on me to get your friends. Speaking of which... bring them in!"

Another door opened to our right and two people walked in, one I recognised as Pastel, followed by a Gardevoir and Drapion. The Drapion was carrying something in his pinsirs - or rather, someone - which made me gasp.

"Sun! Ein!"

The brown haired female, who I assumed was Drapion's trainer smirked, before signalling the large beast to release the two boys. He lifted up his pinsirs and dropped them, causing them to grunt when they hit the hard floor. Their hands and feet were tied, meaning they couldn't do much.

Sun slowly opened his eyes, before meeting my gaze and giving me a weak smile "You're okay... I'm glad..."

I growled "Let them go!"

"Nope." Pastel giggled "It's their own fault for being so engulfed in our little battle, that they didn't hear Scorpius coming. You should've seen the look on little Sun's face when this traitor was hit in the back with Poison Jab. Priceless!"

My eyes landed on Ein, who was laying with his back turned to me. He was shaking from pain and breathing heavily, and from the paleness of his bare arms I could tell he'd been poisoned. I clenched my jaw.

They're gonna regret that.

"That's not all I wanted you to see. Taurus! Gemini!" Their boss barked, and soon two more familiar faces walked in. Taurus had someone slung over his shoulder, unconscious. While Gemini had taken ahold of a familiar blonde, holding some sort of taser to her neck. My pupils dialated at the wounds on both the hostages' foreheads.

"Oh my Arceus- Hau, Lillie!" I screamed, attempting to scramble to my feet and run to them. However, Aries grabbed my arms and pulled me back.

"You see?" The man gestured towards my friends, bound and beaten "You're the reason they went through this. You didn't think about what would happen if they came here, and were reckless enough to call upon them. You were selfish, and look where that lead your friends."

Tears glossed over in my eyes. He's right... If I just kept my mouth shut, they wouldn't be in this mess...

I'm weak...

"Oh and guess what. You're boyfriend's here, too."

My head quickly lifted at his words "What?"

"Mhmm, but my employees haven't caught him and that other traitor yet. Though I wouldn't get my hopes up, it's only a matter of time before they'll be joining us. If the Alolan Champion didn't stand a chance against us, he's as good as captured already!"

"That's what you think!"

Everyone turned their heads to Lillie, who was staring at the boss with a confident smirk.

"My brother's smart, he's not going to let a couple of scientists bring him down! He'll fight alongside his Pokemon to bring you all down! He'll keep his word like he always does, and save Megan from this place! He'll save us all, and defeat you too sir!"

"Lillie's right!" Sun joined, grinning with equal confidence "So I wouldn't go celebrating like you've won just yet!"

The boss growled at his words, before lifting his hand to point at my two friends. This confused me at first, but I soon found out why.

Dusknoir's eye began glowing a purple, and soon formed a black sphere of energy above itself. Inside the sphere was a red eye, which released multiple dark rings at my friends. They screamed in pain, causing me to shriek out their names.

"That's enough out of you two." The boss scolded, signalling Dusknoir to cease the Hex attack. "My, Megan, you sure have some big mouthed friends..."

I snarled at him "Stop talking to me like you know me. It's freaky."

"Oh but I do know you, my dear." He sang out, crossing his arms over his chest "We knew each other years ago, when you were a small child. My it's lovely to see how much you've grown into a fine young creation."

"Forgive me for not sharing the excitement." I spat "And I don't recall meeting anyone like you, are yu sure you aren't referring to someone else?"

"I'm positive..." He trailed off, before grinning evilly and reaching for his hood "Perhaps seeing my face will enlighten you."

"Oh yeah, I'm sure seeing your ugly mug will trigger the memories!" I snapped, leaning forward so Aries and Capricorn had to hold me back.

"Yes... I'm sure it will."

The hood fell, along with the cloake, onto the floor.

My breath hitched at the sight. The man stared down at me with cold aqua blue eyes, the sides of his mouth wrinkling under his stubble as he grinned at me. His blonde hair was tangled from the hood, and fell over his eyes like it hadn't been cut for years. He looked like he hadn't slept since the stone age, since he had dark circles under his bloodshot eyes. But, that could just mean he was crazy. But his unruly features wasn't what shocked me. It was his face.

I knew that face.

My mouth felt dry as I examined him, feeling my entire world slow down from horror. My breathing quickened, as the word I never thought I'd ever address anyone as again rolled off my tongue.

"FATHER?!"

"Yes, dear." He smirked at my petrified face "Happy to see your old man?"

I clenched my jaw, my chest heavy "Y-You... How are you not dead?!"

"Same reason your mother isn't dead. That car crash 11 years ago, it was fake." He shrugged, like it was just a casual thing.

"S-So... Everything we've been through... The experiments... The kidnappings... The tests... The punishments, teary nights, mom's vocal cords being ripped out. My God Damn MISCARRIAGE!"

"All my doing." He smirked "It sounds bad, I know. But trust me it's for your own good. I'm doing all this for you, so you can can live in the perfect world I have planned. I know what's best for you, my daughter."

"No."

"No?"

My jaw was clenched so tight I swear I would break my teeth. "This isn't for me. This is for you. Your experiments. Your ideals. Your world. Your fucking way of living! I want no part of it!" Unknowingly, as I continued to yell at my father my chest began to glow. "I hate you! I hate you for what you did to all those families! I hate you for what you did to Luke and Laura! I hate you for what you did to Lusamine! I hate you for what you did to Mom! I hate you for what you you did to my friends! I FUCKING HATE YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME! YOU ARE NO FATHER TO ME! YOU ARE NOT EVEN A PERSON TO ME! I DON'T CARE IF PEOPLE SEE ME AS A MONSTER FOR MY MUTATION! YOU ARE, AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN THE REAL MONSTER BEHIND THIS!"

The light glowed brighter, and soon I wasn't even visible to anyone else. Everyone began backing away from me out of shock. And unknowingly to anyone else, one of those individuals was grinning. Like he was waiting for this to happen.

I gripped my chest, feeling the burning sensation as the blood pumped around my body at unbelievable speed.

I felt like I was going to explode.

I felt like I was going to die right there.

I squeezed my eyes shut, gritting my teeth together from the pain as my friends screaming my name reached my ears. The pain was unbearable, and I just wanted it to stop.

That was until I felt a pair of arms envelop me, pulling me into someone's familiar warm embrace.

God. How long have have you been waiting for a a chapter from me? I'm so sorry. No excuses.

If you haven't noticed, I've stared using actual quotation marks for speech now, as well as uncensoring any cuss words. Turns out, I find it easier to write that way.

So sorry again....

Feel free to hate me. But, don't turn up at my house with pitchforks. Please.

I'm out. Bedtime.
