Chapter; Fifty-Two

Absolutely Not

Hailey woke up grunting when she felt Hermione's leg on her back making it hard to breathe. She pushed her off before sitting up and stretching her arms. Ginny and Hermione both were still fast asleep which surprised Hailey a bit. Ginny sleeping in was normal, but Hermione was the early riser. Maybe she needed some sleep.

Hailey looked at the clock and saw it was only 8 am meaning the only person awake must be Mrs Weasley. She carefully went to the bathroom brushed her teeth and wrapped a cardigan around her before heading downstairs. She could hear Harry's snore while passing by their room making her chuckle. At least he was sleeping well.

"Morning Mrs Weasley." She said with a smile seeing the elder woman by the stove making breakfast.

"Morning honey. Did you sleep well?" She asked as the girl nodded. "It's surprising seeing you and Ron are the first ones to wake up. Usually, you two wake up the last."

"Ron awake?" She asked raising her brow. Just like Mrs Weasley said. They always woke up late. Especially Ron. Hailey has to drag him out of the bed even sometimes she has to drag him out of the dorm.

"He's taking a morning walk." She said. "You should go out too. Take your mind off things."

"Yeah, I for sure need to clear my mind." She said shaking her head. So many things had been going on and she needed a break. Even if it was for ten minutes. Hailey opened the door and the bright sun hit her face. There was a nice breeze. Not hot, not cold. It was comforting. She found Ron at a distance. He was staring off into the distance beside a tree with his hand in his pocket.

She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him from behind scarring the boy. "Wha- Oh it's you." He said with a sigh in relief. "When did you wake up?"

"Not long ago." She said as he turned around to hug her properly. "You?"

"Six or something." He said with a shrug resting his chin on top of her head. "You're so small. It makes me laugh."

"Hey," Hailey said smacking his arm. "I'm strong."

"Not gonna question that. But it's cute. And we fit perfectly see. I can rest my head on your chin and you and rest your head on my chest." He said with a goofy smile making her smile back.

"Didn't think you noticed so many things Mr Weasley."

"I notice everything, especially if it's about you." He leaned in and pressed his lips against hers. Hailey wasted no time in kissing him back. His arms snaked around her waist and pressed her against the tree making her feel weak on her knees.

How could a boy make her feel this way this easily?

They both pulled back gasping for air, a noticeable blush on their faces. "That's one morning greeting," Hailey said chuckling looking into Ron's eyes. His eyes were a shade of blueish green. But they sometimes changed depending on his mood. They got darker when he was angry or sleepy and a really light shade of blue when he was happy or excited.

"Heard about Mione and Fred's break up?" The boy said who now had both of his hands on Hailey's hips making her feel butterflies. He did that to her. Even after almost two years of dating.

"I did." She said. "It's sad, they still love each other, but are too afraid of what might happen."

"Yeah. Was talking to Bill, Fred and Harry last night." Ron said as they both sat down by the tree. "It's good just talking to the boys sometimes you know what I mean."

"Yeah. That's why we have a girls night at least once every month. It's good to take things off your chest." Hailey said resting her head on his chest.

"Wait you talk about this sort of thing on a girls night? I thought you guys painted each others nails and had pillow fights." He said making Hailey roll her eyes. "But anyways. They were all shocked hearing you and I are still together."

"What? Why?"

"You know with the while you know who thing going on. Harry was suggesting it's better if we broke it off... But I said we could make it... I mean that's only if you want."

"I want to be with you." She said with no hesitation. "I love you. I trust you. And I want to be with you. I mean... Everything seems so easy with you. Maybe it was because we had always been good friends. But I'm comfortable with you. And- And even though we haven't really gotten time together the past few months. I don't see the point of us breaking up. And it were my last few days, I'd rather spend it with you than anyone else."

"We're like a married couple if you ask me," Ron said with a smile. They didn't get the chance to spend that much time together. But that made him appreciate the smallest of time they had. It made him appreciate Hailey even more. He sometimes felt like someone was going to take her away from him. She was Hailey Lily Potter. The girl who lived, the girl who fought. Everyone knew her. She could've picked anyone. But she chose to be with him.

Their relationship isn't perfect. They had their fair share of fights. But these imperfections made them humans.

"We are, to be honest," Hailey said unintentionally intertwining her hand with Rons.

"Then let's get married. Make the rumours true." He said with a laugh but Hailey didn't laugh but instead straightened up to look at him.

"You want to marry me?" She whispered.

"Of course. I wouldn't be dating you just to marry someone later." He said as she blushed going back to her previous position. It was something about the word marriage that made her bubbly. It was all those romcoms fault she watched. Those beautiful weddings. The grooms crying seeing their bride. And that reminded her-

"Are you going to cry at our wedding?" She asked making Ron narrow his eyes. "What? Don't look at me like that. I want to know."

"That's an oddly specific question... But I don't know. Maybe. But mum's going to cry for sure." He said making Hailey laugh. It was Ron's favourite laugh in the world. The way her hazel eyes lit up and her head falls back. He closed his eyes and smiled. It was a perfect moment, cause his whole world was in his hands.

The next few days went by relatively faster. It was Bill and Fleur's wedding which drove Mrs Weasley crazy. She wanted everything to be perfect. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George and Ginny were constantly running around cleaning the house. It was especially hard for the Weasleys as their mum was scolding them. But the twins and Hermione didn't want to feel left out so they too helped out.

"Merlin I'm going to throw myself off the astronomy tower if mum comes in and say to tell me to do anything else," Ron muttered jumping on his bed with a dramatic sigh.

"The Delacours are coming today Ronald," Hailey said sternly as Ginny rolled her eyes. "Ginevra Weasley do not roll your eyes. Fleur is an incredibly talented and strong witch. Stop being so rude to her."

"What? It's not only me. Mum doesn't like her. I don't. Hermione doesn't. What's special about her except she's half veela?" The girl whined earning a glare from her.

"Whatever you do, don't go around misbehaving."

"Aye aye Captain." She said with a fake salute making her shake her head. Hailey didn't personally know Fleur. But she liked her. She may walk with her nose high all the time, but she saw nothing wrong with that. "Whatever you say."

With all the things going on Hailey had completely forgotten about the fact that it was her birthday... But that's not the thing, it was her brother's birthday as well, so when Hermione and Ginny woke her up in the middle of the night wishing her a happy birthday she was shocked.

"Wait what?!"

"It's your birthday!! You're now legally an adult in the wizarding world. Do your first spell!" Hermione said shoving her wand in her hand as she looked at her. "You forgot eh?"

"Wait... I'm SEVENTEEN!" Taking the wand from her hand, Hailey thought about what she could do. "Accio glasses." The glasses came flying into her hand as Ginny squealed.

"Oh, Merlin... I can't wait till I turn seventeen." Three of the girls grinned at each other.

"I bought you a little thing," Hermione said as she handed her a small perfectly wrapped gift. Hailey smiled taking it and opening it carefully. It was a beautiful red diary with a golden binding. She flipped through the pages and saw a few pages had writing on them. One of them read, "Even in the darkest times, you were my sunshine."

Hailey looked at her and held back a tear. "Mione..."

"You are my sunshine. You're my best friend. And I love you and care about you. It's just a small way of saying thank you for being there for me." She said smiling sheepishly with a shrug.

"God... You're the best!" She lunged forward and pulled her in a hug. "I love you so much."

"Comparing to her gift, mines is nothing... But I bought some chocolates." Ginny said feeling bad at how meaningful Hermione's gift was.

"Gins, I love chocolates." She said hugging the younger girl.

"Oh, you wait till you see Ron's gift," Hermione said leaning back on the bed. "I know you're going to cry. I helped in a bit."

"What is it?"

"Not gonna be a surprise if we tell you," Ginny said. "But you're gonna like it."

They met up with the boys that morning. Fortunately, Harry too forgot to buy Hailey a present so they were even. But they exchanged the bracelets they had got from Sirius on their fourteenth birthday. Hailey's was black bracelet with one white bead and Harry's was white with one black bead. So Harry suggested they exchanged it.

All the Weasleys had hugged her one by one. Handing her small boxes. The Delacours too handed her presents. There were loads of people so it took a while for Ron to finally get a hold of her.

"Happy birthday love," He said hugging his favourite brunette. "You're seventeen!"

"I'm seventeen. Weird huh? I can do magic now."

"So... I bet Hermione and Ginny told you about the gift I bought you." He said as she nodded. "Well... I've been thinking about it for a while, to be honest... Have been saving up. And Hermione helped me out a lot as well... And considering the last gift you gave me was perfect so I had to do something big as well."

"Ronald I just got you a-"

"Hush. So as I was saying. I got you a small but big thing." He said nervously with a grin. He let go of her and picked up the basket that was nearby the table. Hailey took the basket slowly and looked around to see everyone looking at her in anticipation.

As soon as she held the basket she felt some sort of movement inside. "Why is it moving?" He shrugged but mouthed a small go on. Hailey heard the smallest meow as soon as she opened the lid revealing a small kitten. "Oh my god, Ronald... It's a kitten!" She picked up the kitten in her hand and looked at him in awe.

"Yeah... It's a munchkin... You know... Those cats are adorable. And Sirius called you that... So I thought, you know..." He said rubbing the back of his neck. He became nervous when he heard a sniff. "Merlin Hailey are you okay?"

"This is such a thoughtful gift." She sniffed wiping her eyes looking down at the cat. She missed Sirius a lot. He was her godfather. Even though they couldn't spend much time together, she loved him to bits. "Thank you love."

"It's nothing." He smiled. He was happy that she liked it. He had talked to Hermione about buying a cat when she suggested they should adopt one from the rescue shelter. She was the one who did the work Muggle work as he knew nothing. It was a white munchkin with grey strips near his ears. "So, what are you going to name it?"

"Hey baby." She whispered looking at the cat and thinking for a while. "Munchkin."

"Yeah what are you going to name the munchkin?"

"No, I'm going to name it munchkin," Hailey confirm. Ron looked at her for a while with a weird look. "What?"

"You're gonna name the munchkin a munchkin?" He asked as she nodded. "Now we know who's gonna name our kids."

"Me?"

"Absolutely not."
