"YOU USELESS KID!" The voice boomed inside the house as he repeatedly smacked Kyun.

"Ah- I'm sorry-"

"YOU DARE TALK BACK?!" He shouted, hitting twice as hard as before. He grabbed a broken bottle, forcefully gashing it at Kyun.

Kyun gasped at the pain, bits of the bottle got inside her skin. Tears flowed down her face as she carefully wiped them off, to not touch the really deep cut.

Kyun repeatedly winced, hoping that her mom would come home already. 'Stupid god damn Younjae getting drunk.'

"No.." Kyun replied.

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK BACK!" He smacked her one last time.

"Why the fuck do you even drink?" Kyun accidentally mumbled, glaring at him with eyes that display anger.

"THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!" He exploded in anger, this time slapping her with all his might. He then turned around, gulping alcohol.

Kyun coughed out blood, tears filling her eyes. But she didn't want to appear weak. Not after these months of beating. No, she isn't going to give in anymore. She'll fight back.

She bit her lip, grabbing the nearest empty bottle to her reach, she tried to get up, using all her power to bring herself up. But instead, failed and fell back to the ground, the bottle clinking against the other bottles next to her.

'I'm screwed.'

He snap his gaze torwards her.

"Trying to hit me with a bottle now are we?" He chuckled, grabbing a bottle his own.

'Shit- please no.'

She mentally begged, before grabbing a bottle she had before and using it to her advantage and hitting the swinging bottle torwards her direction.

The bottles broke into shards of glass, some flying into Kyun's skin. She took this chance to stand up and to grab another bottle to smash his head. And before she knew it, he was on the ground. He fainted. She was so glad he was drunk. Because if he wasn't, she'd be screwed. He'd be awake.

Kyun bit her lip, noticing that this is a chance for her to escape and have another life. But, in this condition- She can't. She quickly got to her proclaimed room, swiftly packing some clothes. You know it's impossible. But there's atleast a 1% chance that'd she'd be able to escape.

There's one more person other than Kookie she still trusts.

And it's her father.

Kyun gulps, hearing the familiar sound of the car, parking in the drive way. She looked out of the window, as she guessed right.

"Shoot, where do I go?" She curses, looking around to check for things she could use.

"I'm home!" The voice echoed inside the house.

Kyun bit her lip, not knowing where to go. She slung her bag over her shoulder, quickly swiping a box cutter that was on the table.

She headed torwards the window, before looking down from the second floor of the house.

Footsteps that was once faded started to get louder and louder.

"C-crap." Kyun whispered, debating whether she would jump or not. She couldn't take it anymore. It was too cruel, far too cruel for her.

Kyun finally decided.

The door knob clicked open, a figure entering. "Kyun? Where are you?" A voice emit from the figure, the sound echoing in the empty room.

Kyun jumped.

She jumped on a tree branch.

Kyun unknowingly laughed, "What the heck am I even doing? I'm not a cat."

She threw her bag on the bush, slowly shimmying her way down the tree, eyes filled with gladness when she heard the voice in the room.

As soon as Kyun got down from the tree, she grabbed her bag before quickly running torwards an unknown direction. She smiled, hearing a loud scream from the house, she's happy now. That she had escape.

---

"Where do I go?" She pondered, looking across the street, not stopping from walking.

Kyun turned a corner, unbelievably seeing the familiar street. 'It's been months since I've seen this street.' Will he still be there? She asked herself, jogging her way to the building.

As the building towered over Kyun, she lightly smiled. She knew she was going to live a whole other life now.

Kyun slowly walked in the same hallway, eyes focused on one familiar door. As she approached the door, her attention gazed at another certain doorm

"I'll go check that out first." She whispered to herself, walking torwards the door.

Kyun nervously gazed at the doorbell.

'What if he left already?'

'What if he doesn't remember me?'

She lifted her hand, her fingertips grazing the doorbell. Her hand stayed like that for a few seconds.

"Ah, forget about it." She gritted her teeth, about to remove her finger from the doorbell. But then a loud door slam prevented her to do so. And instead, press the doorbell.

'Ah, crap.'

The ring could be heard from the outside. The door opened after a few seconds.

"Yes- Oh dear, what happened to you?" An unfamiliar lady appeared at the door, suddenly gasping at the kid who was bleeding.

"Oh- p-please ignore that... it's just... it's a costume.. it's near halloween after all! Haha!" Kyun made up an excuse, wincing as sweat seeped through her cuts.

"Ah, oh I see! Halloween's tonight after all!" The gullible lady laughed, patting the girl's head.

"Um.. do you happen to know... Kook?" Kyun hesitantly asked, since, she only know his nickname.

"Oh. That seems like a familiar name, but I think you got the wrong room." The lady kindly smiled.

"Ah... I see." Kyun sadly smiled. "Thank you miss." She bowed, showing respect to the lady.

Kyun turned around, about to go back to what her original plan is. 'I was pretty much sure that was his apartment.'

"Ah, excuse me!" The lady called out to her, causing Kyun to immediately come torwards the lady again.

"Uhm..?"

"About the kid, he's around 14 right?" The lady asks.

Kyun swiftly nodded, in hopes of finding her bestfriend. He probably is in the apartment next to this room. She must have been mistaken.

"They moved out already."

"A-ah, pardon me?" Kyun hesitantly asked.

"They moved out, I saw them leave this early morning." The lady informed Kyun.

"A-ah... T-thank you.." Kyun whispered before disappearing from the lady's view.

Kyun bit her lip, trying her hardest not to cry. She could have been earlier. If only she fought back and left earlier. Only if she'd done what she'd done today. She could have seen him at least one time. Atleast one last time.

She was too late.

She can never see him again.

At least that's what she thought.
