Chapter Ten
Chloe's unconscious body fell onto the carpeted floor.
Nathaniel walked into the room and scowled at the blonde before picking up his phone and dialing a number he knew too well.
After a few rings, the person picked up.
"Hey Nat-,"
"Why is there an unconscious model in my hotel room?"
"Wow, is that how you greet your most favorite person in the world?"
"Cut the crap. Why is she here after she refused to help me?"
"She was planning to rat us out to the Agrestes and the Dupain-Chengs, so I knocked her out and sent her over to you,"
Nathaniel placed his fingers at the bridge of his nose and shook his head.
"Now her father will be looking for her!"
"So I should've just let her rat us out then? I should've just let them find out everything and take your beloved princess from you!"
Nathaniel knew that she was spitting facts. If she hadn't knocked out Chloe and sent her there, Nathaniel wouldn't have Marinette anymore and he'd probably be punished by upper heads for kidnapping a royal.
"Why didn't you just kill her and blame it on someone else? You're a pro at lying, it wouldn't be too hard,"
"Hell no! I'm not killing anyone! The most I'd do is torture them, but to kill? You think I'd do that?"
This girl was a wimp. She's a conniving snake, but she refuses to get her hands dirty.
"What do you suppose we do?"
"Keep her there until after the meeting. Then you take her with you when you're leaving and keep her there until I figure out something,"
"Okay, good plan,"
"As always,"
"I'll see you at the meeting later I suppose,"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, princey,"

Adrien was angry.
He wasn't angry because he found the person who had Marinette. No, he was angry because he wasn't getting any information from anyone who attended the wedding.
"Adrien," King Tom called from the doorway, catching everyone's attention.
"Yes?" Adrien answered impatiently.
"A word," Tom said before stepping out of the room.
Adrien reluctantly rose from his seat and followed the King out of the room.
"What is it?" He asked impatiently.
Tom let out a growl "This idea is stupid and it isn't going anywhere! I told you guys that she wasn't kidnapped! She ran away because she couldn't handle her responsibilities as a princess!"
As those words passed Tom's lips, Adrien's blood begun to boil.
"The hell kind of reasoning is that?! She didn't run away! You're a very stupid man and it will get you no where. Why the hell would she run away? Marinette does not run away from her responsibilities, she faces them. If you were a good father you'd know that!"
With a sharp to turn, Adrien marched back into the room. He took his seat and scanned the list of people who attended the wedding to check if they were all present.
"Where's Chloe?" He asked loudly.
Prince Nathaniel and Lila Rossi went stiff in their seats, but relaxed soon after. This didn't go past Adrien's sharp eyes.
"Do you two know where she is or why she couldn't attend the meeting?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
"No. I got back to France last night and I haven't heard anything from her," Nathaniel answered as he shot Lila a not so subtle glare.
"I spoke to her last night. She said she couldn't make it. Something important came up and she had to fly out of the country," Lila answered with a giggle.
Adrien bought none of it.
They were both tense and they wouldn't look him in the eye. That alone gave them away and made Adrien know that they knew where Chloe was.
Adrien let out a hum of acknowledgement and went back to watching his father interrogating people one by one.
Gabriel didn't want Adrien to interrogate anyone, because he was scared Adrien would get angry and violent, which was so not him.
"Alright," Gabriel called, catching everyone's attention. "The meeting is adjourned. We'd like to thank everyone who took the time out of their day to come out. The guards will escort you all out."
Adrien rested his cheek on his hand as he watched everyone file out of the room. Gabriel then cleared his throat making everyone left in the room look at him.
"Who do you suspect?" He asked. Adrien pulled out a book with the names of the people who he thought would have taken Marinette.
Gabriel took it and his eyes ran over the names before he looked at Adrien with disbelief.
"Prince Nathaniel?" He asked, his eyebrow raised.
"He's most likely to have taken Marinette. He is very creepy and plain disgusting," Adrien spat, venom laced his voice.
"You just don't like the poor boy! I'm sure he has nothing to do with this," King Tom intervened making Adrien shoot him a glare.
"I agree with Tom, Adrien. There's no way in hell Nathaniel would kidnap the princess. He has no reason to and surely doesn't have the heart to," Gabriel reasoned.
"Bullshit," Adrien spoke up, his arms crossed over his broad chest.
"Excuse me?" a shocked Tom voiced.
"I said Bullshit. You wouldn't even think about this properly! So what if he 'doesn't have the heart to kidnap her', he could have her! And because of you idiots he might get away with it! Just because someone portrays an image of innocence, doesn't mean they're innocent!" Adrien stood and slammed his hands on the table.
"Enough with this nonsense, Adrien! Nathaniel is not a suspect and that's final. Onto the next person you have on the list.... Lila Rossi?" Gabriel glanced at his son.
"I think she's an accomplice in Nathaniel's scheme," Adrien mumbled, sitting back down in his seat.
"This is ludicrous! What kind of crap is that?" Tom spat but Adrien chose to ignore him.
"Adrien, is this because of the rumor going around about you being in a secret relationship with her?" Gabriel pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head.
"What? Of course not! I wasn't even thinking of that! Trust me, Nathaniel and Lila have Marinette! And I think Chloe knows something about it!" Adrien said, trying to convince everyone in the room who stared at him like he was going mad.
"Adrien, where is this nonsense coming from?" Gabriel asked, glaring at him.
"Nonse- you know what, I'm leaving. You're all stupid and so close-minded! Open your eyes! Look around and interrogate them right! I'll find Marinette, whether it's with your help or not! I know I'm right. I just know it!" Adrien exclaimed before barging out of the room, slamming the heavy doors behind him.
"What am I going to do with him?" Gabriel sighed.
Sabine, who was silent for the entire time, felt as though Adrien was onto something.

"Stop looking at me and leave," Marinette said for the hundredth time as she stared at the baby blue wall.
"No, I have strict orders from the prince to not take my eyes off of you until he got back," The annoying guard replied.
Marinette groaned then let out a sigh.
Nathaniel's gone and she was chained to a wall again, but this time she was on a bed in a decent looking room.
'I wonder what Adrien's doing right now...' She thought.
"What are you thinking about?" Juleka asked from beside her.
Juleka had been great company. Though she wouldn't help Marinette escape, she was nice to sit and talk to.
"Prince Adrien Agreste," Marinette answered shyly.
"Ouhhh," Juleka teased with a smirk.
Marinette blushed beet red.
"Shut up," She muttered, bowing her head to make her hair hide her red cheeks.
"Do you love him?" Juleka asked.
Everyone was supposed to know that Marinette got married to Adrien, but no one knew it was an arranged marriage.
"Of course! He's my husband after all," She answered with a small smile.
Juleka answered with an "oh" then went back silent.
Juleka's question was stuck in Marinette's mind though.
'Do I love him?' She thought.
