Chapter Eleven

"Why won't they listen to me?"

Adrien stuffed his arms in his hoodie as he wondered the garden.

It was obvious that something was up with Prince Nathaniel and Lila Rossi, but why couldn't anyone but him see it?

"Stupid Prince, dumb model," He mumbled, kicking a stone.

"What's your problem?"

Adrien jumped at hearing his sister's voice.

Adrienne said on the bench near the fountain, book in her hand.

"Jesus Christ, Adrienne! You can't just to something like that!" Adrien exclaimed, placing a hand over his racing heart. "What if I had pulled my gun and shot you?"

"What's wrong? How did the meeting go?" She asked eagerly.

Marin didn't want her to attend the meeting, he was afraid some fight would break out and she's get hurt.

"Well, I suspect two - maybe three - people, but no one agrees with me!" He exclaimed, plopping down beside her on the bench.

"Who are they?" Adrienne asked her angry brother.

"Lila Rossi and Prince Nathaniel," He answered, but Adrienne said nothing. "What is it?"

"That's kind of unbelievable. Why'd Nathaniel and Lila want Marinette?" She said slowly not wanting to anger Adrien, but it didn't work.

"You too, huh?" Adrien glared at her. "You think it's so impossible and ridiculous?"

"Adrien-,"

"No, it's fine. You don't have to believe me. Nino and Alya will help me no matter how ridiculous I sound or how stupid the thought is," Adrien said before getting up and marching off into the castle.

"It's not that I don't believe you, Adrien. I'm just not sure if it's possible," Adrienne said to no one.

Chloe's eyes shot open. She was surrounded by a blanket of darkness.

'Where am I?' She thought, her eyes darting around the dark room.

The lights suddenly came on. Chloe squinted, trying to adjust to the new-found light.

"You're finally awake," Someone said. Chloe looked up and saw Nathaniel.

"What do you want with me?" She croaked out. Her throat was dry and her voice was hoarse.

"I think you know that already. You were planning to betray me, Chloe. I could have your head for that," He said, mixing around his wine before taking a sip.

"What you and Lila are doing is wrong, Nathaniel. You don't know Adrien as I do, if he finds out you have the princess, only God knows what he'll do to you," Chloe warned and pulled at her arms only to realize that they were chained together, so were her legs.

Nathaniel felt a shiver run down his spine. It was no secret that Adrien could be as cruel as his father when he got angry and he definitely did not want to be the source of the young Prince's anger.

Nathaniel scoffed none the less, "You think I'm scared of him? He can't touch me without proof of me having the princess! And there's no way he'd get proof unless you open your big mouth."

Chloe stayed silent. She had absolutely no idea what Nathaniel will do to her and she feared that greatly.

"What are you going to do to me?" She asked again, hoping to get an answer this time.

"Oh sweet Chloe," He took her face into his hands and squeezed her cheeks between his index finger and his thumb. "Don't worry about that right now. When we get back you'll get the punishment you deserve."

Nathaniel let out a dark laugh with made Chloe shiver.

"Wait until my dad finds out about this!" She threatened, feeling fear coarse through her veins.

"What can he do? I have much more power than your father! What could he possibly do to me? A Prince?" He smirked, letting go of her face and returning to his seat.

"I-I," She started, but soon let out a sigh of defeat as she had nothing to say.

"As I thought," His smirk widened.

Chloe kept her eyes on the floor as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Sleep tight, Chloe. We leave early in the morning," He said before making his way out of the room, turning off the lights.

Chloe finally let her tears fall.

She can't believe she actually developed feeling for this man. He was evil and twisted.

She fell for him, but he was too obsessed with Marinette and it made her angry.

She tried to use Adrien as a distraction, but he too was infatuated with Marinette.

She no longer hated Marinette, but she was so envious of her it hurt.

Now her envy was dormant and her sympathy for the girl was overflowing. Nathaniel didn't deserve Marinette, she was too pure for him, too sweet.

Chloe stayed on the floor, bawling her eyes out, before she fell into deep sleep.

The bright smile of the princess glued into her dreams.

"Princess?" Juleka called, but got no reply.

Marinette heard the call of the nursemaid, but chose not to reply.

Yes, she was upset. Juleka had yet again refused to help her escape.

"You know I can't let you escape, Princess! Nathaniel will have my head! And I know he'd let my brother suffer. You have to understand!" Juleka cried.

Marinette knew she was being selfish and she felt terrible.

"I'm sorry," Marinette apologised, sitting up, the noise of the shackles around her wrists and ankles were heard through the quiet room.

"No need to apologize, Princess, you've done absolutely nothing wrong," Juleka assured her, slowly moving towards her.

The door then opened and in stepped the same guard that has been watching since Nathaniel had left.

"Juleka, what are you doing in here?" He asked, glaring at her.

"I was just speaking to the princess," Juleka muttered, not meeting his eyes.

"Your brother wants to speak with you, he says it's urgent," He said, eyeing Marinette lustfully.

'Oh hell no!' Marinette thought angrily.

"If he tries anything, scream," Juleka whispered into her ear before nodding at the man and leaving the room.

Marinette stared blankly at the wall, ignoring the guard's eyes on her.

"You're very beautiful, Princess. No wonder the Prince has taken a liking into you," He said, a sly smirk in his face.

Marinette chose not answer him.

"Ouhh~ Giving me the silent treatment, huh? That's cute," He said, stepping closer to where she was on the bed.

Marinette felt the hairs on her neck stand up when he stopped behind her.

'He can't do me anything. He can't do me anything. He can't do me anything,' She chanted over and over in her head, hoping she was right.

"You know, I can get you out of here," He whispered in her ear making her shiver.

"Get away from me," Marinette said, fear creeping up her spine.

"Feisty. Don't worry. You don't have to give me much when I help you escape. All I want is a little taste..." His tongue traced his lips.

He quickly pinned Marinette to the bed making her eyes widened.

She screamed. She screamed so loud, her throat hurt.

His hand covered her mouth, seizing all noise that left her.

"Stupid girl," He hissed, spit falling from his mouth and onto Marinette's face.

She let out muffled noise as she squirmed under him.

Suddenly, the door busted open, revealing Juleka and a guard with dyed tips.

He ripped the man from Marinette's trembling body and punched him across the face making him fall to the floor. Juleka quickly rushed over to the shaking princess.

Luka, the guard with the dyed tips, continuously punched the man until he begged for him to stop.

"Are you stupid?!" Luka spat at the man.

The man coughed up blood, but didn't say anything.

Luka sent a worried look towards the princess before pulling the bleeding guard out of the room.

Juleka hugged Marinette tightly to her body as she cried in the crook of her neck.

"It's okay, you're okay," She reassured her as she stroked her dark hair.
