Chapter 5

Aaron woke up with the notification on his phone, "Who the hell is this in the early morning?" He silenced his phone, keeping it on the table he pulled on the covers.

A few minutes later, he woke up with a very bad temper, "What the hell?" He shouted as he stared at his phone that displayed 10 notifications. Sliding his finger on the screen he opened the messages,

'Good morning :)' 5:00 am

'Starting the day :D' 5:40 am

'Awesome view *insert sunrise*' 5:45 am

'Smells yummy :3 *choco mint brownie*' 6:15 am

'Gearing up for the opening :D' 6:20 am

'Music makes everything lively :) :)' 6:25 am

'New recipe :3' 6:30 am

'Alice likes it <3' 6:50 am

'Have a good day ;)' 7:00 am

'Happy 1st day ;)' 7:10 am

He dialed the number and turned it on speaker as he got up from his bed, within a few rings, she picked it up, "Hi," She greeted with a cheerful voice.

"What's with the messages?" He complained.

"Oh, you haven't read the papers yet?" She asked.

"What papers?" He cocked his head to the side.

"The one I gave you yesterday?"

"Ah," He then remembered, "ah yes, I was busy so it kinda slipped out of my mind," He clicked his tongue as he took the papers out of his bedside drawer. He went through the points, 1. Good morning, good night messages. 2. Small conversation about day-to-day activities.

"Do I have to message you every single thing that I do?" He frowned.

"No, just things you want to share with me or small information like you're off to the office and what did you have for lunch? small and light conversations?" She suggested.

"O-kay," he replied, 'ah! this is such a pain in the a**' He mentally winced.

"You there?"

"Ah yes?" He replied.

"I just wanted to have a good start you know in getting to know each other," She spoke softly. "I hope you don't mind?"

"Sure," He replied, "but I may not be able to text you like this," he said suggesting to her messages.

"that's fine, I know you're a busy person and you might not have time to check on the messages either so it's fine you can reply whenever you want, and one-word answers are also fine," She replied positively.

"Okay," he shrugged.

"If you're too busy you can reply with a single emoji too, we can create a code, what about stacks of paper? 📑

"Okay," he shrugged.

"Great then," she replied, "have a good day," he could sense her grin, the happiness in her voice was evident. "You too," He replied. After hanging up the call he stared at his phone for a moment, she is a weird one, he thought. Anyway, let's get ready, he made his bed and went to freshen up.

"So how was your blind date?" Rihito grinned as he tapped his feet waiting for his best friend to answer.

"Are you here for this? In the early morning? Just for this?" Aaron narrowed his eyes at his idiotic friend, "seriously?" He then shifted his gaze at Ryouma. "You too?"

"I was dragged here," Ryouma answered shrugging his shoulders.

"Wow!" Aaron rolled his eyes at his friends, "Since when did you guys start taking interest in my life?" He raised his brows.

"Since the day your gramps started a bride hunt for you," Rihito replied with a wide grin, "Now come on, give us some updates." He rubbed his hands together. "How was your second meeting? You presented her the contract?"

"You did?" Ryouma blinked at the newly found information.

"yes," He heaved a sigh.

"And?" Rihito urged him to continue.

"And? She mocked me!" Aaron said with a huff, "Have you ever heard of a simple, arranged marriage? without any baggage? That's what I got for listening to your idiotic suggestion." Aaron hissed at him.

"Well then you should've known better than to follow his suggestion," Ryouma mocked him.

"Says the one who went with 'The Contract Marriage' in the first place" Rihito pulled a face at him. "Says the one with 'The Fake marriage'" Ryouma retorted.

"Shut up you both, it's because of you both that I had to listen to her sarcastic remarks, deeds were done by you but she gave me a lecture," Aaron rolled his eyes, "instead she handed me over the piles of papers and now I need to go along with her stupid plans."

"what plans?" Rihito asked.

"Good morning, good night messages, little short conversations, did you reach the office? did you have your breakfast? What did you have for lunch? Let's meet up for a dinner date?"

"Aww, she's a romantic type huh?" Rihito winked at him.

"Romantic my foot, like I have all the time in the world for that," Aaron rolled his eyes, "And what is she my secretary that she wants to know my schedule?"

Rihito clicked his tongue, "I pity the girl, you're so unromantic," he shook his head.

"and what next? Oh yes, point number 10, let's not fight, even if we did let's resolve it on the day itself, before going to sleep we should sort it out or something like that."

"That rule I totally agree with it, I have a similar one too, Nice," Ryouma nodded.

"You have it too?" Aaron raised his brows.

"Of course, he needed a rule like that, or else he'll be a super angry monster next day because after their fight Teresa would sleep like a log but him he couldn't sleep a wink and the next day... oh don't remind me he used to be such a mess, he would turn the whole office upside down," Rihito clicked his tongue.

"No one asked you for elaboration," Ryouma glared at him.

Ignoring Ryouma's glare, Rihito shifted his gaze back at Aaron, "So, who's the girl? When do we get to meet her?"

"Why do you want to meet her?" Aaron raised a brow at him.

"Oh come on, we need to see the girl who's going to have you tied down, it's a huge deal, you know?" Rihito laughed.

"uh-huh? Aren't you here just to have a laugh at my misery?" Aaron looked at him with accusing eyes.

"you wound me," Rihito placed a hand on his chest in a dramatic manner.

"Just shut up and get lost," Aaron glared at him.

"Ryouma, he doesn't take me seriously at all," Rihito pouted sulkily.

"I don't blame him," Ryouma shrugged.

"hey!" Rihito complained.

Ryouma stuck his tongue out, "anyway, can I leave now?" He glanced at his watch.

"Yes and please take this annoying creature with you," Aaron urged.

"eh-heh, no way," Rihito shook his head, "I'm not leaving unless I get the answers, and you," he shifted his gaze at Ryouma, "you're not going anywhere either."

"Shut up drama queen," Aaron chided him, "stop poking your nose into my business and go irritate your wife instead," He shooed him away gesturing with his hand.

"Now I'm getting more interested, who is this girl you're desperately trying to hide hmm?" Rihito narrowed his eyes at him.

Even Ryouma's interest was picked. "Hide? Why would I?" Aaron tried to play it cool but obviously, he wanted to hide that the girl was none other than their wives' best friend, they'd get to know it eventually but not now, he didn't want to lose peace in his life just yet.

"Trust me, nothing that would pick your interest, specially Ryouma," Aaron shook his head.

"Now that actually picked my interest," Ryouma's brows quirked up.

"Seriously? Don't you guys have anything better to do? Ryouma, aren't you late for your meeting? You've been glancing at your watch for quite some time," Aaron reminded him, but Ryouma narrowed his eyes at him, "Okay anyway, I've got works to do, so get you asses off my office hmm?" Aaron grabbed Rihito by his arms and threw him out of his cabin, he then looked at Ryouma, "Will you please?" He showed him the way.

After his best friends were out of his office he heaved a sigh of relief.

Walking to the lift, Rihito looked at Ryouma, "he is desperately trying to hide, huh?"

"Even I'm interested now," Ryouma nodded.

"Give me 24 hrs then," Rihito grinned from ear to ear.
