Chapter 4

"So how did it go?" His gramps greeted him with a wide smile.

"I don't know," Aaron shrugged closing the door behind him.

"Why? You didn't like her?"  his grandfather looked on for him to answer.

"What if she was the one who didn't like me?" Aaron wiggled his brows with a wide grin plastered on his face as he pulled the tool to the bedside.

"That means I need to shut the company and donate it to charity," His grandfather nodded with a serious face.

The grin on his face was now replaced by pure horror, "What?" He shouted.

"What? It's my company, I can do whatever I want with it," his grandfather shrugged in response.

"What can I do if she didn't like me?" He protested.

"Did you do something that she wouldn't like?" The old man's brows quirked up.

"No," Aaron shook his head vigorously.

"Did she tell you she didn't like you?" He asked.

"No," Aaron denied.

"Then how are you so sure she didn't like you?" His grandfather folded his arms against his chest as he eyed him suspiciously.

"Cause it seemed like that, she wasn't particularly interested in getting married." Aaron retorted.

His grandfather heaved a deep sigh, "Then I have no choice but to donate-"

"Gramps!" Aaron yelled in protest.

"Don't shout, I can hear well enough," his grandfather glared at him.

"Are you seriously doing this?" Aaron raised his brows, "Are you threatening me?"

"yes," he nodded. "You thought I was kidding up until now, oh come on, grandson, I wouldn't have started it at all if I wasn't serious," he shrugged.

"But," Aaron tried to protest but his grandfather interrupted him, "No ifs no buts, if you want the company get married to her if she doesn't like you, make her like you," He ordered.

"excuse me?" Aaron raised his brows at his words.

"Woo her my boy," He rephrased his words. "If she's not interested in you, make her interested, if she doesn't like you make her fall for you, do everything that you need to do cause she's got nothing to lose but you do."

Aaron sighed in defeat, "Does it have to be her? Can't I bring a girl of my choice instead?"

"You don't have a girl," His grandfather scoffed at him, "I did my homework child," He clicked his tongue, "Or wait a minute, are you planning to bring a fake girlfriend just like your best friend, come on, grandson, you need to be creative, the same thing doesn't work twice you know?" he shook his head, "So just don't create yourself any trouble and settle with my choice, hmm?"

Aaron clicked his tongue in frustration.

"Now that we're done with the discussion, please close the door as you leave," saying this his grandfather shifted in his bed, "Ah, I'm so tired," he yawned and pulled on the covers.

Aaron shut the door with a bang as he left the hospital room. He stopped for a moment and turned back to look at the closed door, "Fine then" He yelled as he strode down the corridor.

He slid into his car and fished his phone out of his breast pocket and dialed the number.

In their next meeting when Ai came to the venue, she was surprised to see him waiting for her, she glanced at her watch and heaved a sigh of relief, good, she wasn't late.

"I see, you're early today," She smiled at him taking her seat opposite him.

"I didn't want to get lectured again," He shrugged as he slid a packet to her.

"What's this?" She blinked at the brown paper pack in front of her. She shifted her gaze at him and lifted her brows.

"Solution," he replied, "hmm?" She tilted her head in confusion.

"Open it," He gestured.

"O-kay," She hesitantly picked the package and she cocked her head to the side as she turned it around, noticing the seal, she shifted her gaze back at him, "Go on," he encouraged her. Removing the seal she put her hand inside and then took the papers out, the words on the paper made her eyebrows knit together in a frown,  "Seriously?" She narrowed her eyes at him.

"You can add your clause if you want," he shrugged leaning his back on the chair.

"I don't want to," She heaved a sigh as she pushed the papers back into the package and slid it towards him.

"Why? I don't see any other option here," he said in his defense.

"Contract marriage, fake marriage, don't you guys have anything better to do?" She chided him.

"Ms. Know it all, if you have any better option, I'm all ears," Keeping his hands on the table he leaned closer.

"I do," She nodded.

"Let's hear it then," He raised his brows at her.

"Have you ever heard of a simple, arranged marriage?" She mocked him,

"I thought you didn't want to get married," he narrowed his eyes at her.

"Well, it's not like I can run away from it either, so why not just go with the flow," she shrugged.

He was about to say something but pursed his lips tight as he reminisced his Gramp's words,  If she's not interested in you, make her interested, if she doesn't like you make her fall for you, do everything that you need to do cause she's got nothing to lose but you do.

"So what about a simple, arranged marriage, with no extra baggage, you know just arranged," She added.

"Okay," he nodded.

"Great but I have something else too," She smiled at him. He raised his brows, "just a sec," She pulled her bag from behind and placed it on the table, from there she took out her package and slid it to him, "what's this?" he narrowed his eyes at the package.

"open it," She gestured.

Dejavu? His lips pursed in a tight line, he then faked a smile at her and opened the package, taking out the papers he ran his eyes over them, "I thought you weren't interested in a contract?" He gave her a sarcastic smile.

"That's not a contract, it's a list of a few things I want to do before our marriage," She smiled at him.

"few things?" he muttered counting the number of things she had listed.

"I don't just want to get married to a complete stranger, though we've known each other for a year now but I want to know more about you as my would-be husband, I'm sure even you have your doubts about me, so what about we have a period of courtship? For 6 months?" she raised her brows at him, "During this time, we can get to know each other and be comfortable." She added. "So what do you think?"

Hearing her condition, he was weighing the pros and cons in his mind, 6 months of courtship? It wouldn't be bad, he thought, who knows by that time he'd think of something to convince his grandfather or he may even get the company in his hands before that, after that he wouldn't have to go through the trouble of getting married at all. with that though, he nodded, "Fine, I'm on it," he replied.
