I watched as the gates opened and the small team of skilled soldiers moved out. We were watched by those on the streets as we went by. I saw Garrison soldiers lecturing kids, some trying to comfort others but most were just shouting at them. The people would get no compassion from them. The Garrison had never even seen a Titan, they didn't understand how truly terrifying they were. They didn't understand what these poor people might have just witnessed. Friends and family being eaten, I knew that I had had my far share of that. Petra and I had other friends from our training regiment that joined the survey corps. Not many but a few and they were good friends too, but Petra and I were the only ones left. I remember watching helplessly as one of them got eaten alive. I should have helped her, I could have helped her but it was the first time I saw a Titan and my body froze. I couldn't do anything, she called put to me and I did nothing. That's why I am going to protect as many people as I can. I will not freeze up again. I'll face every Titan in hopes that she might forgive me for forsaking her. The Commander began to move forwards and the rest followed.

"Come on Bonnie. Let's go kick some Titan ass." I said patting her lightly as we set off and passed through the gate...

As we rode through the empty, broken town I could see the heads of Titan's appearing over the tops of broken buildings. There were bodies of men, woman, children and soldiers everywhere. Blood splattered against walls. There were hundreds of Titan's around us. If they did spot us then this could have been the end for all of us. I looked over at Petra who was riding beside me. Her face was one of terror. Her face was white and she was clutching on to her reins of her horse so tightly that her knuckles became white too.

"Petra, calm down." I said calmly. "We have done this thousands of times before. You lose your head, lose your cool and panic that's the end. There is nothing to worry about. Your Captain and Commander is here with you. Along with your squad. If we follow orders and stay focused we will make it out of this."

"Yeah of course we will." She said a little shakily. "As long as your by my side everything is going to be okay right?" Her comment shocked me a little. She really put that must trust and faith in me?

"Right." I said reassuring her. I watched as Captain Mike's squad veered to the right and headed of down an alleyway. Captain Mile himself, the whole of the Levi squad and Hanji stayed with the Commander. Captain Mike's squad were to make sure that not threat came from the sides and made surprise attacks on us. The reduced numbers also meant that we would be less likely to attract un wanted attention from the Titans. Our job was to protect the Commander from the behind and in front. That was when a 10 meter Titan appeared from behind a building and stood right in our way. The Commander stopped as did everyone else. The Titan stared at us but made no move and we didn't either. I glanced to the sides and noticed at a few others had noticed us and were beginning to trudge over.

"He's attracting attention Sir." Said Petra seeing the same thing I saw. Captain Levi glared at the approaching Titan's.

"What do we do Erwin?" Said Hanji in an excited tone. It always amazed me how she could be facing a Titan in the face like that and still find things to smile and be excited about.

"It is in the way of the gate. Why it hasn't attacked yet is a mystery, it must be an abnormal. We have not come this far to retreat now. We will have to engage the enemy. Levi, you and your squad deal with the Titan's and Captain Mike and I will continue towards the gate." He said as the Captain turned to us.

"Drew you take the one up front. Oluo, Gunther you take the one on the right. Eld, Petra take the one on the left. Regroup when your done, Hanji and I will neutralise any other threats."

"Yes Sir." The squad repeated.

"Wait for me here Bonnie." I told her giving her a small pat. Then I nimbly balanced on her back and looked at the Titan I was to kill. The others in my squad had already ridden of to complete their own objectives. I used my grapple and buried it into the Titan's forehead. Then I shot forwards, over the Commander, Hanji and the two Captains heads and landed straight in the Titan's face. "Morning ugly." I said looking it right in the face. It attempted to take a snap at my leg but a quickly jumped onto his head. I saw below me as my leaders rode around the Titan and on towards the gate. I saw Captain Levi look up at me with his usual cold expression. "Now stay still. Let's make this quick and easy." I said as it thrashed it's head around. I took the grapple hook out of it's forehead and jumped into the air. I drew my swords mid air and spun towards the Titan's weak spot as gravity pulled me back down to earth. I cut deep into it's flesh and as it began to fall to the floor I jumped off it. When I landed I was on the back of my loyal horse. "Good catch girl." I told her as we rode to catch up with the others...
