I landed on the roof and watched the Titan I just killed fall to the floor. Captain Levi was no where to be seen and Petra and the others were fighting off other Titans. We seemed to get a swarm of them coming in at at us from all sides all at once. I heard someone land next to me and saw Captain Levi there.

"Where have you been?" I asked him.

"There were three Titan's coming towards so I took out the threat before it reached us." He said looking down at his hand. He had Titan blood all over it. "Disgusting." He said pulling out a white handkerchief and beginning to clean it off.

"A swarm off Titan's came in while you were gone."

"How many?"

"Two 10 meter class, three 5 meter and one 15 meter."

"You took out the 15 meter down there?" He asked looking at the rotting corpse of the Titan I just killed.

"I did. The others are somewhere down there fighting off the 10 meters. Jake took out the 5 meters by himself."

"Tch that brat. He following orders now?"

"He is but he is 't happy about it. He is very skilled in battle though, you can tell he has been doing this for 9 years."

"You'd think he would know how to follow orders."

"I think he was just upset about the situation."

"I don't think anyone is happy with it. I hate needless deaths but we have orders that we must follow. If we don't all hell could break loss." There was the sound of whizzing and Petra appeared in front of the pair.

"Captain Sir it's Jake." She said catching my interest.

"What is it?"

"He left the squad Sir. We can't find him anywhere." She replied

"That idiot will get himself killed." He said angrily.

"Let me look for him Sir." I said looking at him.

"Drew..." Petra began stepping forward.

"No I can talk him down. Make him see sense and make him come back to the squad." I said.

"You want to go after a guy that forcefully kissed you then fine but make sure you come back."

"Jake kissed you?" Petra repeated.

"Not the time or the place Petra." I said jumping off the building. I swung through the air passing Olou and Gunther who were helping each other to take down a 10 meter class Titan. I wanted to help but I had to find Jake. I moved at lightening speed through the broken buildings and eventually spotted Jakes familiar red hair. He was on a building knelt down, like he was trying to protect something. I landed smoothly and ran to him. "Jake what are you doing? Why did you leave the squad?" I said. Jake looked around and that's when I saw what he was knelt over. It was a female soldiers, she was still alive but her right leg was missing and there was blood everywhere.

"I heard her scream and I couldn't just leave her." My eyes widened at the sight and I knelt down next to Jake by the dying girl. Her brown hair was sticking to her face and covered in sweat. The hazel eyes were dimmid and full of pain.

"We need to stop the bleeding." I told Jake moving towards her leg but stopped when I felt a hand grip my right forearm. It was the girl.

"Please don't." She said with a face crunched in pain. "I know that we can't mend that. I know I will die here on this roof." Her voice was hoarse and it sounded painful for her to talk.

"But we can..."

"No, please don't give me false hope." She said cutting me off. "I accept the fact that this is my death bed and am more that happy that you are here next to me." I was shocked at her statement.

"H-have we met before?"

"No but you are the reason I joined the scouts. I knew I wanted to be a soldier but I was going to join the Garrison but then I heard stories from the others, about how you saved so many lives and how you were amazing in battle. Then one day I saw you for the first time. You were with your squad, walking next to a girl with brown hair. You...you smiled at her so happily and it made me think...if you can smile...even after everything you have seen...then I should too. I wanted to have that strength so I joined the scouting legion. I wanted to help humanity like you." She said lifted her hand up to me. I took her hand in mine and held it firmly.

"And you have. Your brave sacrifice will mean something, I will make sure that it does. Today you have helped the success of the material transporting mission and one day we will rebuild that wall and retake wall Maria. You have helped that, you have helped humanity take back land from the Titans for the first time in history. Every member of the scouting legion is important including you, we could not have done this without you and we salute your bravery and courage." I said doing the military salute which Jake beside me joined in with. The girl looked at us both and smiled despite her pain. A tear rolled down her face.

"Thank you so much...Drew." Then the light left her eyes and the body went slack...
