I got back to the room I shared with Petra. It was almost dinner time now. I had been out looking for the Grandma all afternoon but I had been unsuccessful in finding her. When I entered the room Petra was not there so I decided to take a quick shower before dinner. When I got out of the shower I was re dressing when Petra finally came back into the room.

"Where have you been?" She asked me.

"I was out looking for someone. Why?"

"The Captain has recruited a new soldier for our squad."

"Really? Just one?"

"Yeah he's male I think." I smoothed down my hair and flattened out my uniform down a little.

"Right because the thing we need in the squad is another male." Petra smiled.

"It would be nice to have another female around. Captain Levi wants to introduce us to him before dinner."

"Alright let's go..."

When Petra and I entered the small dinning hall Eld, Gunther and Oluo where already there. The Captain and the new guy were no where to be seen yet.

"Glad to see you two could make it." Said Oluo in his fake Captain's voice. I sighed.

"The Captain doesn't talk like that." Said Petra.

"Yeah your not even half the man he is." I added on.

"Ahhh, sticking up for your lover are we Drew?" He cooed.

"What? Don't be ridiculous."

"Let's not talk about this now." Said Gunther. "What I want to know is why the Captain suddenly feels we need more members. Who is this guy anyway?"

"I'm sure the Captain has his reasons." Said Eld

"If the Captain is letting him join us he must be very skilled so it shouldn't matter how he is." Petra added on. Suddenly the door to the dinning room opened and the Captain came in followed by the new male recruit. The first thing I noticed was that he was very good looking. He had reddish brown hair and his eyes were a stunning purple colour.

"This is Jake as of today he is a member of this squad." Said Captain Levi coldly and he sat down at the table.

"Hi everyone." Said Jake rather shyly. There was a moment of silence as the whole squad looked him up and down, deciding whether he was a good soldier or not. It was Petra how broke the silence when it came clear that the Captain was not going to introduce us.

"It's nice to meet you Jake. I'm Petra, this is Drew. That's Eld the second in command. Then we have Gunther and Oluo." We all nodded at him and muttered a hello.

"I've heard so much about you all. I'm honoured to be here." He said with a smile. It was a warm smile and one that seemed to win over everyone in the room.

"So kid you ever been out on the field?" Said Oluo in his fake Crain's voice.

"I have many times. I'm not fresh out of training see. I have already served the Survey Corps for 9 years."

"That's a long time." Said Oluo. If he finished training at 15 then that would put him at 24 only two years younger than me, I thought.

"If he has served that long Sir why only now bring him in?" I asked the Captain getting a glare from him for calling him 'Sir' again. Jake's eyes widened as he looked at me. He continued to stare which just made me feel uncomfortable. What was he staring at?

"Jake came in 4th position in his training. He chose to join the Survey corps but since he left training he has gotten better and proves to be very effective in the field. So after the fall of wall Maria and for the future I brought him in."

"Will we be venturing into the Shinganshina district again Sir?" Asked Gunther.

"Most likely yes but not for a while. The hundred will be sent on the mission to reclaim their homelands two days. The higher ups have come to the conclusion that we have no choice."

"So for now we stay put?" Asked Eld.

"Yes, show Jake around and make sure that he is okay. Tomorrow you have cleaning to do." He said standing up and leaving.

"Did the Captain just say cleaning?" Asked Jake.

"The Captain's a bit of a neat freak." I told him.

"He's not like most expect him to be. For one he's a lot shorter in real life." Said Petra making everyone laugh slightly, breaking the ice between us and the new guy...
