Chapter 3: I wonder if these Characters are important
(Y/N)
Yang: "Oh I can't believe my baby sister is going to beacon with me! This is the best day ever!
The blonde girl jumped Ruby into her arms. Ruby showed clear discomfort as she tried to get off her sister's tight hug.
Ruby: "Please stop..."
Yang: "I'm just so happy! And I thought I would have to wait a year to see you again, I would be so lonely."
Ruby: "I mean... (Y/N) is entering Beacon to, right? So there's that!"
Yang frowned as she turned her eyed to me. I clicked my tongue and looked away, averting my eyes out the window.
Yang: "Yeah, well he isn't necessarily family... Besides I didn't even know he had any interest in being a huntsman, I just thought he'd... I don't know... Become a NEET and die or something."
Ruby: "I thought it was obvious, on the nights he went missing he seemed to come home scarred. And then he showed me his SUPER cool weapon! Oh man I don't even know how he managed to customize such a flexible weapon!"
I flinched at her remarks as I pushed my weapon to my back before she somehow managed to snag it. Her interest is weapons is commendable, but she still too inexperienced to even try to wield mine.
Yang still had that glare at me, she smirks as she drags Ruby away. Yeah, it's pretty clear that Ruby is the one that's more openly-friendly with me, Yang however is different... I wouldn't say she hates me, it's just that she's... Never mind.
???: "Well now, what do we have here? (Y/N)?"
I looked over to see someone waving. I met contact with his dark blue eyes, well one of his at least thanks to his haircut, or lack thereof, that made one of his eyes get covered by his hair. At least he had the initiative to put a hairpin over his left side to give him some vision. He wore a blue hoodie made out cotton, polyester, or a blend of the two. Cotton is breathable and soft, while polyester is durable and moisture-wicking. And generic pantaloons.
(Y/N): "Who are you again?"
???: "Oh geez, you don't remember me? Typical (Y/N)! Well I guess I'll just introduce myself again...
Hey everybody! My name is Nite EsDeo! If you didn't catch on from the weirdly specific character description and very familiar name, I'm the very obvious and lovable character insert of the author! My favorite hobbies are: sometimes stealing the spotlight, breaking the fourth wall, and being (Y/N)'s best friend!"
(Y/N): "Who...are you taking to?"
Nite: that's not important!
Nite brushed the question off as he invitingly put his arm around my shoulder and snickered.
Nite: "I knew you had some fight in ya but I never thought you'd decide train to become a hunter."
(Y/N): "I have my reasons..."
Nite: "I know, I know... You always do. But hey! Now that you're here it'll make things easier! With you on my team I'm sure graduating will be without a hitch!"
(Y/N): "I never said I'd let you on my team. Academic wise I'll get through Beacon without any team... I work best in solidarity."
I turned away from Nite and walked away. Teammates... as if I'd ever need them. Allies will only hold you back, I know from experience. Besides, who needs help when you're as OP as me.
???: "I can't believe we're finally attending Beacon, Ivan! Oh man I can't hardly contain myself.
???2: "Calm down, Levi. We haven't even done the initiation.
I walk pass a pair of twins. I'm only hearing clearly their conversation out of the crowd of shadow people because they're the only ones with character design.
Levi: "Comee onn, It's okay to be excited. The fact that we're headed there already means we're attending Beacon for the next few years!"
Ivan: "Well yes... But still I don't feel like we should be celebrating this early."
Levi: "psh, come on! It's not like we're gonna fail the initiation or anything."
Ivan: "Yeah you're right, from young we promised to be huntsmen together. We made it when our father finally came home."
Levi: " 'Be united as the world becomes divided." Was what he said, right? as long as I'm alive i'll be fighting by your side!"
Ivan: "Me too bro, me too."
Ignoring these two people. I don't have a single interest of the backstory of some random background character. I just need a place where no one will strike a conversation with me.
My best bet was to go to where Yang and Ruby were. As talkative as those two are with each other, we've already spent a lot of years to know that I'm not one for conversation. So it might not be as quiet, but at least I won't have the obligation to reply.
I leaned over the wall next to the two sisters talking about some kind of "bees knees". I close my eyes and try to take a nap until the airship arrives at Beacon.
Some time later I hear Ruby mutter something.
Ruby: "I can see all the way back home from up here..."
Yang: "Beacon's our home now."
Heh, home. That's a word that applies none to me. The house I stayed in was nothing much of it, the only place I could ever feel comfortable was the times where I would firmly grasp my weapon in my hands as I begin to—
???: *Gag* "Oh sorry—Hmph."
A blonde boy bumps into me, he quickly apologizes but gets cut off by his own hand trying to stop himself from vomiting.
Well then, where was I?
Right... When the ecstasy from the secretions of bullets off my weapon make me har—
???: "Excuse me, does anyone know where the restroom is? I really need to—"
I glare at yet another blonde boy who tapped my shoulders. Why do these banana heads always interrupt my monologues?? Maybe I should have held back on my glare as he seemed a bit shaken.
???: "Ah, Never mind I don't need to go anymore... I do need a new pair of jeans now though..."
Random person: "Pfft, of course the person named Yellow Snow pisses himself haha."
Yellow: "Hey! I'll have you know that my mother named me after Lemon Ice Cream! And not... You know."
I groaned and put on my hoodie and I left the scene. I've bumped into a lot of quirky... and seemingly annoying people today.
But it seemed to be the end of my misery as I felt the airship begin to descend and land at a big castle like Academy. The passengers began to excitedly run to the doors and waited for it to open.
Ruby: "Oh my god, we're here! We're here!"
Ruby squealed excitedly. It wasn't hard to realize that she was undoubtedly the youngest one on this ship. She smiled happily at Yang, and surprisingly towards me as well. The door opened and she cheered once more.
Ruby: "Oh man I can't wait to show off my skills! Oh I hope all three of us can be in the same team!!"
The little red skipped happily out of the airship. I sighed and followed everyone else out of it. We were being guided to the plaza where everyone made their way into the main lobby.
Yang: "Hey, (Y/N), you have a minute?"
Yang looked ay me unimpressed. I couldn't even give her a yes or no before she pulled me to a secluded corner anyway.
Yang: "I know Ruby just said what she said but I want her to be more independent so try not to end up in her team okay? Oh and Dad kind of told me not to team with you... you know how he gets."
I rolled my eyes at her.
(Y/N): "Wasn't planning on ever being on the same team as you anyway."
Yang: "Oh come on, don't be like that! Just because we can't be on the same team... Doesn't mean we can't fool around either."
She gives a suggestive wink and gave me a quick peck on the cheek before she quickly scurried off to catch up to Ruby.
This is what I mean. If Tai Yang's favorite fun time with me was Domestic abuse... Yang's was a different kind of torture.
A very hormone-inducing kind of torture.
