Alexa is from Gotham City, and is the daughter of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, and her Mother died when she was little and she was raised by her father.

Oswald had taken care of his daughter the best he could, however he was deep in with criminals and he had to sometimes bring her with him. Although he didn't let anything happen to her, since she was connected to his wife Penny.

However, at age eleven when she was at school when she was at Gotham Academy and she was waiting for her Dad to pick her up. Only when the car pulled up, her Father wasn't in it but rather, it was someone who worked with him who said that he was sent to pick her up by him, and he said her Dad was busy.

Only he hadn't taken her home, he took her somewhere that they wouldn't be able to be found in a bunker underground in the woods, where she was met with his wife who was in on the kidnapping and kept her there, and she found that the man who took her had been screwed him over and took her as payment for what he was owed.

When her father found out she was missing, he looked around the whole town looking for her and he had gone over the edge, making everyone who worked for him look for his daughter and when he didn't find her, he had gone fully to the dark side and did whatever he did to find her, even after four years after she'd been taken.

Alexa's kidnappers had abused her, and they had raped her, sometimes multiple times a day and threatened to kill her multiple times. Locked into the same underground bunker for four years straight and she had been afraid and wanted to go home.

Even though she hadn't been out, she hadn't given up hope because she had the mentally that people were still looking for her and she couldn't give up. But, after being there for three years, she had started to believe that there was no hope left and she gave up trying to come out, and she accepted that she would be there for the rest of her life.

When Commissioner Gordan found the Cobblepot case, he had worked on finding her since the Gotham Police had gave up on finding her and presumed her dead, and it didn't sit well with him well that this girl hadn't been home in four years, and Batman worked on the case with him and they came up with a way to find her, and they questioned Penguin to see if they could find any clues.

After two months of investigating, they found out that she was somewhere in the woods of Gotham near Wayne Manor and they found who had taken her and they used extreme forces to get him to say where she was, and they found her unconscious with the help of Superman who used his X-Ray vision to find the bunker.

When they found her they took her into questioning and they tried to get her to talk, but she didn't until her Father came in and she broke down and told them everything. Penguin was taken to Arkham, but Bruce had taken her to live with him at Wayne Manor and told her that he was Batman.

She went back to school after a couple of weeks of being there, and she attended Gotham Academy with Jason Todd, and she made two new friends who seemed to like her a lot and she spent all her free time with.

Only when she went with them, they had been taken to the back of the school and they started beating on her until Jason came, since he had a feeling that these girls weren't good people and he had found her and taken her to the Bat Cave and got her wounds healed, and her Father had gotten rid of those two girls who called her their "friend" and she had been in her room not talking to anybody cause she felt that she couldn't trust anybody.

Alfred seeing this, saw that Gotham City wasn't a stable place for her, being she already had so much trauma from that place and she needed a place where she could start over. And so, him and Bruce arranged for her to stay with the Kents in Smallville, and she lived with Superman and his wife Lois where she attended Smallville High, after she had taken the summer to study and catch up on what she had missed.
