Maddison resisted the urge to punch someone in the face as she made her way to her next class because of all the people that were walking way too slowly, pushing and shoving her roughly. Finally she pulled herself out of the crowd, loudly sighing out of relief, it was the second period of the day and she already wanted to go home. She had an elective first and now she was currently going walking into her history class, as she walked through the door of the classroom glad that the noise of rowdy students fading behind her.

Maddison's eyes landed on her friends sitting in the back of the classroom, she walked over to them pulling out a chair at the end of the row. Dumping her folder down on the table and plopping herself down on a chair and sighing again.

"What took you so long?" Felicity chuckled from beside Maddison.

"I swear slow walkers are going to be the death of me." Maddison replied back with a smile as well, getting her pencil case out of her bag and then dumping her bag on the floor just as the teacher walked into the room and the class silenced.

Mr Holland cleared his throat causing the few students on their phones to look up and quickly turn their phone off in fear of getting it taken off them. Mr Holland would be one of those teachers that you could call boring. He was strict and his voice was so monotonous, and he just babbled on about bullshit for the whole time and it was especially annoying when you were trying to write bullshit down well that was Maddison's opinion and Maddison was pretty sure her friends shared the same opinion.

There was a sudden knock on the door which made Maddison come out of her trance of ignorance towards the teacher and look expectantly at the teacher as he headed towards the door to open it, still talking bullshit that Maddison had expertly learnt to ignore, especially with what she had to deal with at home on a regular basis.

When the teacher opened the door it revealed a boy who looked the same age as Maddison and her peers, and Maddison found him kinda cute compared to the rest of the boys at her school that were about as attractive as a mushroom if not less and they were the biggest jerks as well.

"Can I help you?" Mr Holland asks the dark haired, dark eyed boy.

"I'm in your class. I'm new here."

This interested Maddison and she got a subtle nudge from Felicity and she knew exactly what she meant by it. Maddison looked at her out of the corner of her eye and gave a smile.

"What's your name?"

"Daniel Moore."

"Ok, Daniel go take a seat next to Max, just over there please." The teacher pointed right over to Maddison although he wasn't pointing at Maddison he was pointing at the seat in front of her.

Maddison felt happy that the new boy was sitting in front of her as it would give her more time to be able to subtly check him out and she knew Felicity would be doing the same.

"Oi Maddi are you still coming today?" Deliah asks from beside Felicity as Madison quickly turns her head to the side hoping her friends hadn't noticed her staring at the back of the new boys head.

Before Maddison could even begin to reply to the question she was asked, the new kid, Daniel turned around butting into the girl's conversation and replied, "I'm coming where we are going?" Felicity, Delilah's Maddison's and even Ruby's head at the end of the row all turn their attention to the boy.

"Excuse me?" Delilah asks slightly unsure whether she heard the boy right.

"You've been excused." Daniel replies with a trace of a smirk on his face, "but honestly where are we going I sorta need to know before me and my fabulousness comes along."

"We were going to go the beach." Felicity replies while Delilah stares at the boy with a shocked expression a hit of annoyance visible in her eyes.

"Well I'll meet you there at 4" Daniel says before looking over to Maddison, "its Maddi isn't it? Is that short for Maddison?"

Maddison felt her voice get caught in her throat and the air got temporarily knocked out of her lungs however Maddison quickly regained her composure looking into Daniel's warm brown eyes and gave a simple nod. "So are you coming along today?" His eyes briefly travelled up and down Madison body, he was checking her out, it looked like he tried to do it subtly but Madison still picked up on it.

Choosing to ignore it, Madison finally found her voice again, realising it was best to speak before she made herself look like an idiot. "No, I'm not coming today," her eyes then darted over to Delilah's giving a sorrowful look "sorry D."

Two replies from two different people came at the same time. "It's ok, I was hoping you'd come but I understand." Was what Delilah had said.
Daniels reply was a little less sympathetic "Why aren't you coming? Too good to spend some time with your friends."

Maddison wore a shocked expression, one of her eyebrows was arched and her pink lips parted slightly, "Excuse me?" Before Daniel could reply or Madison or her friends could say some bitchy reply the teacher walked up standing at the end of the row in front of her, right next to Daniel.

Mr Holland cleared his throat making Madison, her friends and Daniel all look up at him, but Madison did not give up her attention before giving one finally glare at Daniel. "Seeing as though you are having a lovely chat up here, I'm going to assume you are all finished your work."

The girls just started to shake their head when a boy from a different row of seats whose name was David yelled out, "you should never assume sir, it makes an ass of you and me." Many people laughed at this comment but not the teacher if anything Madison swore if he was in a cartoon right now he would be blowing smoke out of his ears and his face would as red as a tomato.

Although Madison didn't not particularly know David and didn't particularly like him she was glad his comment got the teachers attention off of Madison and her friends.

Just as Madison was about to turn her head back down but just before she did she noticed out of the corner of her eye Daniel giving her one more glance although Madison was not quick enough to pick up what expression he wore on his face. Madison didn't even know whether she wanted to see the expression on his face anyway because she figured it would only be something that she didn't want to see, and she also didn't even know what expression she wanted to see.

Madison tried to get back to her work to finish it before the teacher came back over and gave her a detention but she couldn't, too many thoughts were filling her head. One of the many thoughts swirling around her mind was the fact that she couldn't believe how the boy could be so rude, without knowing anything about Maddison or her life or her story.

Before Maddison even knew it, the bell that signified the end of the class rang and everybody started rapidly putting their books and pencil cases into their school bags before spilling out of the class room and into the hallway and heading to roll call.

After Maddison dumped all of her stuff into her school bag she stood from her seat and slung her school bag over her shoulder she started to head towards the door of the classroom, however she got barged by two people who were fake fighting and pushed Maddison right into Daniel.

"Geez, it's a bit quick to be falling for me, don't you think?" Daniel says although his arms did come to make sure Madison didn't fall. Maddison quickly convinced herself that he did this completely on instinct.

"Full of yourself much?" Maddison quickly replied standing up straight and stepping away.

"Well I guess I'm not the only one, seeing as though this is coming from the person who thinks she is too good to hang out with her friends."

Maddison clenched her fists at her sides "look I don't know who you think you are, but I know for a fact that I never said that I never said that and I also know that you don't know anything about me so you shouldn't go making assumptions, and you should most definitely stay the fuck out of my business." Maddison tried her best to link her inner bitch into her voice and she was pretty confident that it had worked.

"Wow, you're a feisty little one aren't you?" Daniel smirked not being affected by Maddison's words or if he was he certainly didn't show it.

Madison turned her back and walked away from Daniel and towards the door of the almost empty classroom.

Maddison secretly hoped that Daniel would stay out of her business and stay away from her. Deep, deep down Maddison also hoped that maybe the way he was acting was only a facade, something fake, that he wasn't a jerk and that he knew how to treat people with respect. Maddison could definitely do with some more respectable people in her life.
