A few weeks had passed since you last met Oikawa. Even though you often passed by the park, you never saw him again there. Anyway you didn't have any free time now, the Interhigh qualifications were approaching quickly and your manager job took you all your time. You had to attend all the training sessions with the team and even though you didn't have to play, it was truly exhausting.

Tomorrow will be the first day of qualifying for Shiratorizawa's team so everyone was a bit stressed in the club, you including. Tendou was, as usual, super excited because he'll get to play as titular and you knew it would take you a lot of effort to calm him down. However, his good mood was a blessing for his teammates and you, this guy just by his presence can make everyone happier...

After the training, you joined Tendou and gave him his water bottle. You were responsible for closing the gym today, so you waited until everyone left to get out. Tendou waited for you and told you he'll take you home. 'Why does everyone want to take me home since I moved in here ? I mean, I'm not complaining but they're all so courteous it makes me feel uncomfortable...'

After arriving at your house, he saluted you, not without reiterating you how excited he was... and you went inside.

You got in your room and checked which team you will be playing against tomorrow.

"Date Kogyo, you mumbled, never heard of it. Let's see how it goes."

The next day

You woke up pretty early today. After all, you were pretty excited too. You knew Shiratorizawa's Academy had a big reputation to uphold, so even if normally you didn't care, this time you decided to be a little more exemplary.

The Interhigh qualifications take place in Sendai's gymnasium, so thankfully, it was not that far from where you were living. You had to meet the other members of the team in front of the gym at 8:30am. You arrived ten minutes early, but already half of the team was there, Tendou included of course. You greeted the others quickly and joined Tendou. He couldn't keep still, as expected...

At 8:27, everyone was here, so you headed in the gym to start the warm-up before the match against Dateko at 9am. Before, they had to change into their white and purple jerseys and shorts. You went to wait for them on the bench next to the coach.

They started running around the field, set up on the court and started doing attacks. You could see everyone in the stands and the other teams dazzled by the power of the purple team's attacks. You were used to see those attacks, but it was always impressive to witness them.

After finishing the warm-up, they lined up, facing the other team. The match was about to begin. The captains shook hands, 'I can feel the tension between them, that's lowkey scary...'. Then they went back next to their teammates and the two teams shouted "Good match !".

As the two teams set up on the court, you started hearing the cheers of Shiratorizawa's supporters in the stands. 'I completely forgot about those.' you thought. Then you turned your head and saw all the music instruments, the cheerleaders and the other supporters, shouting for Shiratorizawa's team.

The match started only five minutes ago, but the purple team was already leading 7 to 2. As you started focusing more on the game, you noticed that only Ushijima managed to score points through the block, with difficulty. 'What does that mean ? Is their block that powerful ?' And as you kept on watching, you had the answer to your question. 'Damn... they won't let us go through, that must be really stressful for the players. I wonder how Tendou is doing...'.

However, you didn't have to worry about Tendou. Even tho their block stopped you from attacking freely, Tendou was also giving them a hard time thanks to his intuition, and you could see the annoyment on the other team's players' faces.

Shiratorizawa won the first set 25 to 20. However they didn't look happy at all. They were all glaring at Dateko, defiantly. 'I bet they're not used to have such a hard time winning usually.'

But against all odds, when the second set started, the purple team was as motivated as hell. It looked like they were faster and their attacks doubled in power, which destabilized the other team. 'Not gonna lie, that's astonishing.'

Finally, they ended up winning the second set too, 25 to 16. 'Wow...'
