After handing out their water bottle to each player at the end of the match, you watched them thank the supporters and left the field with them. They had a second match today. If they won, they'll have two others tomorrow. You were pretty sure that they'll win their next matches, you didn't doubt their abilities, they were in the national top 8 strongest teams after all... but who knows, we can never be a hundred percent sure, a new team can always appear from nowhere and change the whole ranking.

When thinking about that, you realized that Aoba Johsai was certainly also trying to qualify for the Interhigh, and that it was possible your two teams end up playing against each other, but this time, it would be official. 'I'm not sure if I want this to happen...'.

The next match was about to begin. You were now playing against the Tokonami high school team. They weren't looking really confident... no, they were even scared to stand in front of Shiratorizawa's players, and you could understand that, not to mention the uproar the supporters were making.

The referee whistled the start of the match.

After the match

Tendou sighed loudly. "It was a tiring day ! But we won !!"

You smiled. "That's not surprising. You're the strongest team in the whole prefecture. But congrats !"

"Let's have a bite before we go home !"

Later

"Good night, and don't stay up too late ! You have matches tomorrow too, so you need to rest." you said to Tendou.

"Always acting like my mom..."

You scoffed. "Excuse me ? Me, a mom ?!" You faked a pout and turned around to go home. Then you heard him chuckle and walk away.

You sighed and started mumbling "Honestly, I don't know if I prefer having a busy life... maybe I miss the times where I was always alone, without any social life. That's true, having a social life is exhausting, and full of dramas... Dramas, haha... I bet they're just waiting for me at some corner... I can feel them..." Then you realised you were speaking nonsense to yourself and sighed even louder. "Pfiou... I'm starting to say nonsense, I should go to sleep."

The next day

Today, you also had to wake up early and join your team in front of Sendai's gymnasium. The first match will be against Kakugawa's high school team, and you searched out of curiosity who would be your next opponents if you won this match. It turned out that Aoba Johsai managed to reach the semifinals and was playing against some other high school team, which means that if both of your teams win their semifinals match, you'll meet during the finale.

And you were quite excited for it... Even though you promised yourself to stay away from Oikawa, you were looking forward to seeing him again. 'I really get attached to people too easily, and I never used to be like that... I'm a disappointment for myself.'

After everyone arrived, you headed in the gym and just like yesterday, the players went to warm up. After approximately twenty minutes, they finished warming up and were now facing the other team. The referee whistled the start of the match and the team set up on the court.

But as you started watching them, you realised Seijoh's team was playing on the next court. 'How did I not see it earlier... Okay now I have a dilemma : which match do I watch ? I'll try to watch both but if the coach catches me looking at Seijoh's team I don't think he'll appreciate it...'.

And just like that, you started watching both matches, while making sure that nobody caught you.

Shiratorizawa won the first set seven minutes before Aoba Johsai. The two teams did not have much difficulty against their respective opponents and the thought that Shiratorizawa and Seijoh will end up facing each other in the finale was growing little by little in your mind.

It was now Shiratorizawa's match point. Ushiwaka had to serve. 'Damn they don't stand a chance against this guy.'

He took a few steps back, threw the ball in the air, ran until the touchline, jumped and hit the ball with a phenomenal strenght. The opposing libero tried to receive the ball but only managed to send it back to the purple team. 'Chance ball' you thought as the libero was shouting it too. He tossed the ball to the setter, who passed it to Ushijima, and the match ended in the blink of an eye. 'Dang, I forgot to check how Seijoh is doing.'

You looked up to see the turquoise team, and found them trying to score their last point too. Just as Shiratorizawa's team did earlier, their libero received the ball, tossed it to Oikawa, who looked more serious than ever. Then he passed it to... 'Is that Iwa-chan ?... It's him ! I didn't notice him the first time I saw them play.' and he scored.

The audience was ecstatic. They knew too what was coming. The finale will be between Aoba Johsai and Shiratorizawa.
