"Hey Y/n ! Are you coming to watch my match this weekend ? I'll play as a titular central for the first time since last year ! Do you realise... People will finally get to know the miracle boy !"

You sighed. "Tendou... It's the third time today and I already told you I'll come."

You never understood how this guy had so much energy all the time. I mean, doesn't he get tired at some point ? Well, it wasn't a bad thing that he was so jumpy, he was always there to cheer you up when you were feeling sad. I don't think anybody could wish for a better friend than Tendou, but people always misjudge him on his appearance or facial expressions... and that's a shame. Whatever...

You were not the really sociable type of person, so you were afraid of not being able to make friends when you arrived at Shiratorizawa for your second high school year, but against all odds it was someone else who approched you first. And this person was Tendou. He was so excited that there was a new student in his class he completely forgot to introduce himself and just started talking to you like an old friend. Yet you were quite relieved someone made the first move, so you decided to act more sociable than usual and became friend with him... before knowing he was completely unstoppable. When you asked him why he decided to come to Shiratorizawa he told you it was because of the volleyball team, which was one of the best teams in Japan.

"What about you ? How come you arrived here only on the second year ?" he asked.

"You see... my grandfather is Shiratorizawa's volleyball coach-"

"Whaaaat ? That's awesome !"

"Yeah I guess... he insisted for me to come to this school so I could join the girl's team, but I'm not sure if I want to. And I couldn't come sooner because I was living in Tokyo and moved here for my parents' job."

"Oh I see... Did you have a lot of friends there ?"

"Honestly... not really... But it's okay though I enjoy being alone." you replied shyly.

"Nonsense ! There's no way I'm leaving you alone here ! You better prepare yourself because I'm clingy."

You giggled.

"For how long have you been playing volleyball ?" he continued.

"I never played in a team back in middle school. I was always trained by my grandpa when I went to see him during the holidays."

He shrugged. "If you don't want to play then don't. You can always discuss about it with him."

You looked down. "But I don't want to disappoint him, after all the efforts he put in training me."

He took you by your shoulders, which made you open your eyes wide (You're not used to physical contact with people) and shouted "Do whatever the hell you want !!!"

"Okay..."

"Sorry did I scare you ?"

"No it's okay, I'm just discovering new sides of your personality."

He blushed "hehe..."

It was friday evening now. You just had your last class of the day. Physics... You liked this subject but having it on friday from 4:30 to 5:30pm... what a boredom. You got out of the class and waited for Tendou who was always the last one leaving class. Once he joined you, you asked "Do you have a training tonight ?"

"No" he said "The coach doesn't want us to get tired before the match tomorrow."

"Oh right... and sorry I forgot but who are you playing against again ?" you asked.

"Aoba Johsai. Dunno if you heard about it"

You nodded. "Yeah once or twice. Are they good tho ?"

"I never saw them play, and tomorrow is just a practice match organised by the coach to see what we're capable of in front of true opponents, but I assumed they were pretty good since he made us practice for hours for this match. I think he's taking it very seriously."

You didn't answer, so he continued "I'll accompagny you until you get home."

"Thanks."

The next day

You woke up to a ringing in your ears. "Huhh..." you sighed. Guess who was calling you in the early morning.

"Tendou please it's 6am your game is in three hours."

"I know but I couldn't go back to sleep."

"Wait, for how long have you been awake ?" you asked, worried.

"Since 5am but I wasn't sleepy"

"Oh my god Satori Tendou you know you'll be exhausted during your match ? GO BACK TO SLEEP RIGHT NOW !!"

"Yes mom- uh Y/n, I mean Y/n... but why are you yelling at meee ! You never sream usually !"

"Sorry but it's currently six in the morning and you're super excited and that's not a bad thing or something you can control anyway but you need to get some rest..." you said all in a breath "...or else you won't be able to show everyone your skills and impress them as you wish you could."

He remained silent for a few seconds and spoke."Hum... you're right... I think I should drink some coffee today..."

You sighed "I guess I'm awake too now. You know what, let's meet at the coffee shop in 30 minutes."

"Yay ! See ya soon then !"

"Yeah see ya..."
