Tobias POV

As we walked into the building, I heard shuffling in the floor above

us. I pulled out my gun, ready to shoot whatever gets in my way. I

pushed Christina and Uri behind me, and walked up the stairs.

When I reached the door, I opened it ever so slightly to see a petite

figure sitting on one of the beds. I motioned for Christina and Uri to

come in. I closed the door behind us. I then walked up towards the

bed and recognized the figure. She turned around and looked at me

in confusion.

"Tris?"

is all I managed to get out. Christina ran up to

her and hugged her. Tris stiffened up when they made contact.

"I

knew you weren't dead!"

she said as tears of joy filled her eyes.

When they pulled away, she was still looking at me like I was a

stranger.

"It's me! Tobias?"

I choked. She cocked her head and said,

"Do I know you?"

That hit me hard. My love of my life not knowing

me?

"I-it's me! The love of your life?"

I stuttered. She shook her head

. "Sorry."

Tears formed in my eyes as I ran down the steps. I walked

into The Pit and sat on the rock Tris and I had our first kiss. Then, I

just cried. I thought about the time she left me to sacrifice herself.

When she sacrificed herself for Caleb. The pain was horrible. I want

to die. Just die.
