The Safe Word
“Wake up”
You hear in a familiar voice, followed by slight taps to your face. You pull you face away, drifting back off to sleep.
“I said,” the voice starts again, “wake up!”
A hard slap connects with your cheek and you open your eyes, wide in shock. You look over to see Mark straddled above you. His hair is a mess, his button up shirt has the sleeves rolled up, the top few buttons missing. His appearance and his... demeanor vaguely reminding you of ”Danger In Fiction”.
“Hello, (f/n)” he fidgets a bit, “now...”
He reaches his hand out and tugs at the rope tied around your wrists and smirks. You feel sick and weak. He gets up and adjusts himself.
“We’re going to play a little game, something to test your endurance... "
He grabs a piece of paper and begins writing something down.
“Ever heard of a safe word?” His smile widening as he approaches you “What we are going to do is we are going to stay here, in this room, for however long it takes for you to learn to cooperate. Okay? Alright...”
You eyes widen, reminiscing back to that video, and feel a shiver go down your spine. You hope someone comes from the foreground to save you as your eyes begin to sting with tears.
‘I have to know what it is...’
There’s a mix of emotion on his face that makes you feel like he wishes the same as he lifts the paper into view.
‘I HATE YOU, MARK’
You begin to shake slightly and bite down on your lip. You want to say something, but your mouth is dry; you even don’t know if the words you’ll say will make any difference.
He pulls the paper away, crumpling and tossing it in the trash. He returns to you, but his eyes no longer meet yours. He clears his throat, but his voice still ends up cracking.
“Let’s begin”
He brandishes a pair of surgical scissors from his pocket and pulls at the hem of your shirt. He glances up to your face, his eyes showing hurt.
“Only you can stop me...”
