Tell Me About Myself

You sit, staring off, still shaken up about what happened. You hear the clinking of glasses breaking you away from your thoughts.

'Another Drunk Minecraft night?' You sigh, rubbing the bridge of your nose. You pick up you phone, contemplating between calling your mother or Elena. You put the phone up to your ear, thinking over what to say.

"Hey, what's up?" Elena's cheerful voice chimes in.

"Hey," you switch the phone to your other ear, "I... need to talk to you."

"What's going on?" she says, a bit panicked, "... Did you get arrested?"

"No," you chuckle, "um... so you remember when we were younger, and I was taking that medication?"

The line falls silent.

"Elena?"

"I do remember... I thought you were cleared to get off that," you hear reluctance in her voice.

"I was, but... just what happened back then?"

Elena's Memories

"What are you doing out of bed, (f/n)?" I watch her leave the room and get up to follow "... (f/n)?" I repeat. I see her mom's door open and she picks (f/n) up. Her mom turns and returns to our room, placing her in bed.

"If you see her get up, don't let her leave the room." She gives me a serious look as she leaves.

"Why didn't she want me to leave the room?" You ask, a bit shaken, "Elena!"

She sighs and continues.

I only stayed over on the weekends, so I didn't always see how bad it was. The day I finally did, (f/n)'s mother wouldn't let me stay over anymore.

"(f/n)... what are you doing?" I approach her from behind, reaching a hand out to her shoulder. "Let's go back to bed." My hand touches her shoulder and she turns to face me, a wide smile on her face. She points outside as tears roll down her face, to a small dog, her dog, out in the rain on a frigid day.

"Whatever 'this' is, it's trying to make her recede in her mind for protection... don't let that happen." (f/n)'s mother sighs, bouncing her leg anxiously," If she ever gets... that look on her face," she starts looking through her purse," force two of her pills down her throat..." she passes me the bottle, which I place in my shoulder bag. I nod and head off to play with (f/n).

You gag slightly, feeling a bit sick.

"You okay?" she asks, concerned.

"Mmph," You respond, the hand over your mouth, muffling the sound.

"The medicine... your mother said it was a catalyst, that it would activate to push something out of your body." She pauses, "... you weren't crazy."
