A Late Return
You tap a pencil against your sketchbook. Holding you head in your other hand. ‘I wonder where he is’ you think to yourself anxiously. You’ve spent the past few days watching out your window and checking your phone. You saw the updates of Facebook and Twitter, but couldn’t help but feel nervous, especially with what had been going on lately.
You hear heavy footsteps ascending the stairwell and travel to your door.
Smack, smack.
You raise an eyebrow and go to answer, revealing a disheveled Mark, his hair a complete mess. You stifle laughter, and smile at him kindly, feeling sympathetic to his tired state. He shows you a pizza and a 2 liter of soda,
“Join me…?” he asks in an exhausted voice, his cheeks turning a slight pink.
You sit down the hall, watching him talk to no one, moving his arms in somewhat of a frantic matter.
“…I hope you liked that Deadliest Warriors video. I had a lot of making that…”
Well... not no one. You smile, biting into a slice of pizza, and look down at your lap, ‘personally, seeing him record…’ You hear steps approach you and the piece of pizza in your hand gets snatched away. Looking up, you see his exhausted face as he takes a bite. You purse your lips and cross your arms,
“Hey,” you say, sounding like a kid.
“Don’t sound like that,” he groans, setting the pizza down and leaning in towards you, “It’ll make this awkward.”
He kisses you and you feel a bit shocked, heart jumping in your chest, but you give in. Your face heats up, you close your eyes and return his kiss. Your whole face tingles, but soon, you feel unease. He pulls back and you open your eyes to see those dark ones, a wide smile as he turns around and starts to walk back to his room.
“It seems we both did miss you oh-so-much...” you cover your ears, but you're unable to take your eyes off him. He stops right before his room and looks back at you, the same wide smile. He starts to speak, but his words don’t match his expression, sounding forced.
“Help… me."
