A Dive Into His Mind

Mark’s POV

She looked at me with seriousness in her eyes a few more times as we talked. Sometimes she would look like she was about to cry, but she’d look away from me, and then look back with a smile.

A fake one.

I tried to hold one as well, but it just didn’t feel right, like something was missing… or lost.

I excuse myself and go to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror in the bathroom. I don’t want to seem like I don’t care about my fans, I’m just… uncertain. I fix my hair a bit, it’s gotten so long. I splash some water on my face and shake my head, trying to keep my line of thought.

I just wanted to… I just wanted to see a real smile on her face.

I stare at myself in the mirror, wondering why it felt as if I was forgetting something.

What was it?

I close my eyes and try to think, a slight ringing starting in my ears. I open my eyes and step back, but the reflection does not. I hear clattering outside of the bathroom and look over to the door. I look back to my wide eyed face staring back, following my movements as I compose myself and open the door, seeing (f/n) in the kitchen.I smile.

Your POV

The bathroom door opens and your look over to see Mark. You return a smile and return to washing out the mugs and kettle.

“Thanks for the drink and conversation,” he moves out to the living room, “but, as you know, I do have fans that agonize if I don’t upload on a schedule.”

You laugh awkwardly, knowing you were one of them.

“Yeah, yeah,” you turn off the tap and wipe off your hands, “drink my tea and run.”

You smile and wave as he steps out, closing the door behind himself. You hold yourself there for a while, standing in the kitchen and leaning on the counter. You hands begin to shake as you feel emotion start to pour over.

Just how long can I lie?
