V2 Ch6: Burden of the Blade
(Just remembered that I actually get a good bit here that doesnt focus on fighting. So now it's good 'ol life for Y/n and the others. For a time, at least...)
(And also like...after the wholesale combat class bi-)

Halls of Beacon
3rd person Pov
Y/n: "I'm telling you rosebud, I'm fine. See? I just needed a couple days."
Y/n twirled himself around speedily go showcase his point as he and Ruby made their way through Beacons corridors. Much to his delight, he was in his normal getup instead of his uniform, seeing as they were headed to combat class where uniforms are not required.
Ruby huffed slightly at his antics.
Ruby: "Look I'm just worried okay? That was a scare for us both...I mean are you sure you're ok? Do you even remember how many times you freaked out at first?"
Stopping his display, he faced her as they continued their walk, somewhat hurriedly down the corridor.
Y/n: "Look I understand Rosebud, I really do, but it's been a week now and I'm feeling a lot better. It'll leave a scar, but im back in action. And I'll be ready next time."
Sensing no victory in the agruement, Ruby finally relented as they neared the combat room.
Ruby: "*sigh* Ok. Let's just get to class. Just promise me you wont push yourself too hard, okay?"
Y/n merely smiled at her as they stopped in front of the doorway that lead into Professor Goodwitchs' Combat Class.
Y/n: "I promise, Rosebud. Now come on, let's not keep the whole school waiting."
Smiling slightly at his exaggeration, they pushed open the doors just in time to hear the buzzer of a match coming to a finish. The board above the ring displayed all of team CRDLs' aura, as well as the aura of none other than Pyrrha Nikos.
All of team CRDL lay defeated on the floor while Pyrrha stood in the center, completely untouched, such being proven by her full aura on display, and a satisfied smile on her face. She had to admit, ever since the stunt Cardin and his team had pulled a few days ago, the idea of handing their asses to them was on her mind.
Professor Glynda Goodwitch spoke up from the edge of the ring, tapping away at the large tablet in her hands.
Glynda: "Excellent work Mrs. Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament."
Pyrrha: "Thank you professor!"
Glyndas' attention turned to the new arrivals in her classroom, who by now had moved to sit next to the rest of their teammates in the bleachers.
Glynda: "How kind of you to finally join us Mrs. Rose, Mr. L/n. I do believe we have time for one more match before class ends."
She tapped away at her tablet for a moment before speaking again.
"I dont believe I've ever actually seen you fight in my class Mr. L/n, for obvious reasons. Now that your weaponry is no longer an issue, why dont you step down into the ring?"
The young shadows' expression instantly grew excited, as within a few seconds he was in the middle of the ring, already having summoned his combat gear.
Luckily, team RWBYs' seats were close enough to the ring that he could move around in it without moving too far from Ruby. They had yet to find out what would happen if the strange string that connected them when he strayed away was touched, and they weren't in any rush to find out.
Y/n pulled up his facemask, the bright silver emblem shining menacingly, as his piercing silver eyes scanned the rows of students intensely through the gap between his mask and hat.
Y/n: "I could go for a fight. Who's up for it?"
He called out to the crowd of students, wondering who would step forth. He saw plenty of antsy students. Unsurprisingly, Yang was tapping her foot as she contemplated whether or not she should hop down there. Y/n was a tough customer, and she knew he would be a great fight.
Mercury Blacks' steel grey eyes scanned Y/n carefully, as the cold crimson eyes of his partner, Emerald Sustrai did exactly the same.
He spoke to her in a hushed tone, not removing his eyes from the boy.
Mercury: "It ain't the 'invincible girl' but we havent seen him in action yet. Should I take a crack at him?"
Emerald studied Y/n closer for a moment, concentrating. Thinking. She was curious about the boy. The one time she had encountered him was when she, Mercury and Cinder had bumped into the duo in the halls. Ruby saw nothing strange about the three of them, but Y/n...
He had regarded all three of them with steely eyes. A piercing gaze that screamed at her, 'You cant fool me.' It pissed her off. She wanted to try something...but she would wait.
Emerald: "Eh, go for it. Hes an unknown. We need information."
Mercury allowed his regular cocksure grin to slide onto his face.
Mercury: "Showtime..."
He went to stand up and challenge the boy...
But was rudely interrupted...
Pyrrha: "Actually, if it's no trouble, I'd love to fight Y/n!"
And there she was, the invincible girl herself, Pyrrha. She stepped politely towards the ring with a cheerful and excited smile on her face. Goodwitch, raised an eyebrow in slight questioning.
Glynda: "Are you quite sure Mrs. Nikos? You did just complete a fight."
Pyrrha did not dismiss her smile for a millisecond, stepping completely into the ring now.
Pyrrha: "Its no trouble at all! I've got plenty of fight in me!"
Y/n smiled under his mask at the thought of fighting Pyrrha, rolling his shoulders in anticipation, hopping slightly in place as he struggled to contain his excitement.
Y/n: "Oooh, steppin up Pyrrha? Fixin' to take a crack at shadows are ya?"
Pyrrha stepped into position opposite him as she calmly drew her spear and shield from her back relaxing her stance as she locked eyes with the living darkness across from her.
Pyrrha: "I must admit, our encounter in the cafeteria got me interested. I've been excited to see what would happen if we really fought eachother."
She was as proffesional and elegant as ever, but the wild look in her large green eyes made it clear that she was just as excited as Y/n.
Both teams RWBY and JNPR were all on the edge of their seats for the battle to come, and Ruby was bouncing up and down in her seat with excitement.
Glynda watched the back and forth between the two students with her own level of interest. She too was interested in what Y/n was capable of. She linked the students aura to the board.
Y/n did in fact have an aura in this form. It was simply very small. It was only really good for protecting against a good four or five strong hits, and didnt do great for regeneration. So he had to be careful.
Glynda: "The fighters may begin when ready..."
Y/n bent his knees slightly as one hand drew his large odachi, the other hovering anxiously over one of the pistols on his hip.
Pyrrha took up her trademark hoplite stance. Knees bent, stance low, shield up and spear held high overhead.
The two stared eachother down, as Y/n spoke first, an excitement in his eyes that anyone who didnt know him would mistake for madness.
Y/n: "Sooo, how are we gonna do this? I come at you? You come at me? Oooh, at the same time?"
Pyrrha smirked at him, but didnt respond. Taunting him, in a way. Y/n seemed to continue his statement, but he was too distracted by the challenge before him. Muttering incoherently.
The two began to circle eachother slowly. Studying eachother. Waiting.
Silence.
...
Y/n suddenly disappeared in a burst of darkness, the entire arena suddenly darkening. Pyrrha twirled on the ball of her foot, holding her defensive stance. The darkness coated her vision, so she closed her eyes and listened. Concentrating.
Y/n: "DODGE!!!"
Without any other warning the darkness suddenly evaporated as Y/n appeared on her left with a massive two handed swing of his sword. Pyrrha, with barely enough time to react, was forced on the defensive as she continued to block and step around the relentless barrage of strikes Y/n was throwing out.
As she went to dodge his next strike, she was surprised as she found that she dodged right into the barrel of his small sawn off, immediately catching a face full of fire dust, stumbling slightly. She didnt let it stun her long however, as she quickly caught her balance and moved on the offensive.
Pyrrha: "Hyaahh!!"
With a shout Pyrrha began a storm of precise and focused jobs towards Y/n, forcing the boy into a very shaky defensive. What blows he didnt redirect, he only narrowly avoided in a burst of shadow as he relocated himself. Quickly sensing a pattern, Pyrrha feigned a sideways jab, but quickly dropped down and spun on her feet as she anticipated Y/n warping behind her, sweeping his feet from under him.
She quickly took advantage of his winded state as she batted him to the side, sending him rolling through the air towards the edge if the arena and massively tanking his aura at once.
Thinking she must have won, she relaxed herself. Seconds later she was startled as what felt like a chain wrapped around her leg.
Quickly opening her eyes she was greeted by the sight of Y/n standing at the edge of the arena, his sword gone and replaced with what appeared to be a kunai on a large chain wielded in his left hand, and a massive kama with it's own small chain wrapped around his right wrist, both with a heavy looking counterweight. Students went wild in the stands at the sudden change, they were certainly getting a show.
He pulled the chain tight.
Y/n: "GET OVER HERE!"
With a massive heave of the chain Pyrrha was pulled off her feet, flying through the air towards Y/n. The boy spun on his feet, swinging the large kama on its chain, and using the extra force to land a devastating slash across Pyrrhas chest as she neared him, batting her away once more.
As she flew to the center of the arena, Pyrrha shifted her spear into its sword form and planted it on the floor, allowing the friction to slow her down and plant her feet. Breathing heavily, she checked her aura to see that, with only a single blow, Y/n had chunked over a third of her aura. Glancing at the board quickly she saw that his was already half depleted from her earlier strike.
Pyrrha: 'Weak aura...but he hits hard. And he's fast. Really fast.'
Looking back to her adversary, she saw Y/n standing there, awaiting her next move. Swinging the kunai slowly by its chain as the kama rested firmly in his hand, held behind his back. His eyes seemed hard, focused yet excited.
Pyrrha chuckled to herself slightly before she suddenly leapt to her feet, her shield already on her back as her sword turned into a repeater rifle, she began to lob a storm of fire at Y/n.
To her, as well as the shock of everyone watching, Y/n began swinging the kunai much faster, successfully batting the bullets out of the air, and side stepping the few that made it past him and slowly approaching her.
When Pyrrha ran empty, he didnt slow down for a second as he began to swing the kunai forward for a quick jab or slash, then immediately pulling it back, using momentum and force to create a fast and deadly loop of attacks.
Pyrrha did her best to avoid the strikes, but this was new territory for her, shown as she took the occasional slash to the arm or leg. Scratching at her aura slowly. It didn't take long for Y/n to get close to her as he began swinging the large kama in his right hand in tandem with the kunai. A hail of devastating and powerful strikes.
The harass showed no signs of clearing up anytime soon, and Phrrha was being overwhelmed. She needed to end this. Fast. That's when she noticed it.
Right as Y/n went for his next swing with his kama, she suddenly ducked, raised her shield and shoved into him, knocking him off his balance, and flipping him over her. As he flew above her head, she quickly spun and slashed him midair before he landed on his back, winding him.
Dazed, Y/n raised his head to see a winded Pyrrha with a foot on his chest pinning him to the floor, and the tip of a spear in his face. The sound of the buzzer rang throughout the room.
Glynda: "Pyrrha Nikos wins!"
Taking a glance at the board, Y/n saw how close the match was, his aura in the red while hers was dangerously close in the orange.
Pyrrha put her weapons away, and offered her hand to him, still slightly out of breath.
Pyrrha: "That was an incredible fight Y/n!"
With a smile, he accepted her hand, pulling himself to his feet with a groan. He patted down his clothes and stretched as he spoke.
Y/n: "Gotta say Hoplite, that was an awesome one. What made you catch me though? Coulda' sworn I was gonna chip you out there."
Pyrrha smiled at the question and responded.
Pyrrha: "On every other swing with your kama, you lifted your back leg, and left yourself open. Once I found that out, it was a matter of waiting for the right moment."
Y/n groaned slightly at his mistake, but lowered his mask with a smile and shook Pyrrhas hand nonetheless, ditching his hat in the process as it evaporated into the air. It was too good of a fight to be upset about something like that. Mrs. Goodwitch spoke up from the side.
Glynda: "Excellent performance the both of you. Mr. L/n, despite you losing you should also do well in the tournament. Dont let this loss discourage you. Mrs. Nikos is a world renowned fighter after all."
Y/n: "Thank you miss."
The bell signaling the end of class suddenly rang throughout the room, causing students to begin to stand up and leave, save for teams RWBY and JNPR who approached their friends in the ring. Mrs. Goodwitch shouted to the leaving students.
Glynda: "The dance is this weekend, but dont forget that you have your fist missions on monday! I wont accept any excuses!"
With that Glynda continued to do...whatever it is she does with that tablet. The fighters teams caught up, and surprisingly Sun showed up out of nowhere. Ruby was the first to do, well, anything, as she practically leaped at Y/n and hung off him like a child. He loved it.
Ruby: "OH MY GOSH THAT WAS SO COOL!!! YOU WERE ALL WARPING AROUNDANDYHENYOUBAITEDHERINFORAHITANDTHENYOUPULLEDOUTTHECHAINANDWEREALLLIKE-"
Her almost indecipherable ranting was silenced by Y/n with a sneaky peck on the lips, opening her eyes to the amount of excess in her speech. She shyly hopped off of Y/n.
"Oh...uh sorry hehe"
Y/n: "No worries Rosebud."
Yang approached with her normal bombshell attitude, playfully slugging him in the arm as she spoke.
Yang: "Dude, that was awesome! I seriously wish I hopped into that ring now!"
The rest of both teams were quick to follow up with congratulations and compliments. Albeit one more halfassed than the others...
Blake: "It was certainly impressive..."
Jaune: "For real, I didnt think there was anybody here who could give Pyrrha that much trouble."
Ren: "An excellent match."
Nora: "Nine out of Ten! Not enough broken bones!"
Sun: "Sweet fight."
Weiss: "I'll admit, you performed better than expected."
Y/n feigned a look of complete shock, a hand over his heart, and speaking in a mocking tone of awe.
Y/n: "My goodness, a compliment from the Ice Queen?! Blessed by the gods I must be!"
Weiss merely crossee her arms and rolled her eyes. Y/n chuckled slightly as he lightly hit her shoulder with the back of his hand.
"Relax Weiss, I'm just messin with ya. I know theres a bit of warmth in that cold front of yours."
Weiss merely huffed, but relaxed slightly. The light dusty red on her cheeks enough to display her embarrassment at being called out.
Weiss: "Whatever...dunce..."
A short laugh was shared through the group, that she did smile at slightly.
Mercury Black watched silently from the open door of the classroom. His stalking presence masked entirely by his partner Emerald, as she focused on the group intensely allowing her to mask their perception of him.
They hadnt been there long, in fact only long enough to see them laughing.
In all honesty Mercury was severely disappointed. This strange lookin shadow boy goes toe to toe with one of the worlds most renown fighters, and this is all he does? Just share a laugh? He expected some sort of bravado, gloating or pride. But no. They were just yuckin it up.
Mercury: "What a waste..."
He was about to settle in for his small stakeout, but was completely thrown off his stride when, while the others were distracted, for a split second Y/n made direct eye contact with him. Y/n silently mouthed to Mercury, but he could hear the words bang against hims mind.
Y/n: "Fuck off. Your not sneaky."
Before he could even respond, Y/n removed his attention from Mercury and continued talking with his friends. Deciding to take his queue, Mercury gathered Emerald, and they left.
Mercury: 'Just what the hell is with that guy...?'
The two inseparable teams were now making their way out of the classroom. Classes were done for the day, and they were free to do whatever. Y/n watched with curiosity beside Ruby as Sun approached Blake.
Sun: "Hey! Blake!"
Blake: "Hmm..?"
Sun shuffled nervously for a second, not something you'd see the normally confident monkey faunas do very often.
Sun: "So uh, heard about the dance this weekend. Sound pretty boring but uh, you and me, I'm thinkin maybe, not so boring?"
Blake...blinked for a moment as it appeared she was trying to process something. Now that Y/n took a closer look at her, she didnt seem well at all. Her movements were sluggish and slow, her hair was messy and undone, and there were bags under her eyes so deep she looked like she had holes in her head.
Blake: "What?"
Sun: "The dance! You wanna go?"
(I havent slept in...I genuinely dont know how long. I THINK it's been 25 hours.)
Blake didnt take nearly as long to respond this time, pushing past Sun and storming off.
Blake: "I dont have time for some stupid dance. I thought you of all people would get that."
Y/n: 'Soneone needs a little talkin too...and maybe a snickers...'
Sun hung his head slightly at the flak gun of a rejection he just got shot down with, but Y/n was quick to move in for support.
"Dont beat yourself up Sun, we need to have a talk with her anyway. Somethins got her bent outta shape."
Sun: "Yeah...alright."
Ruby looked up to him in a questioning manner.
Ruby: "Well, what do we do for now? Go after her?"
Y/n thought for a moment. Blake was in a pretty delicate mood, and clearly wasnt sleeping or thinking straight. Make a move too early and shed just run off again.
Y/n: "Give her a bit of time to cool down. She isnt in her right mind at the moment."
Sun: "Well, I'm gonna go catch up with Neptune for the moment. See ya guys later."
RWBY&JNPR: "Later/Bye!/See ya"
A short moment of silence sat among the two teams.
Jaune: "Sooooo...what now?"
Pyrrha: "Lunch?"
Y/n: "Screw it, I could go for a bite."
Mumbles of agreement sounded throughout the two groups, and with their decision made, they set off to the cafeteria.
A few hours later
Team RWBY Dorm
Y/n's Pov
After a lengthy amount of time at the cafeteria spent with team JNPR, it was time to deal with Blake. She'd been allowed to stew for a few hours, and this was as good as it was gonna get.
Blake: "So...what's this about..?"
We had found her sitting in her bed, barely keeping her eyes open while studying a notebook of hers. And of course, this is about Torchwick and the White Fang.
I mean, I get it, I wanna put this to an end as well. But come on Blake, this is getting a little ridiculous.
Y/n: "Let's be honest Blake, were all of the opinion you need a break. So we want you to mosey on over to the dance this weekend."
Blake: "You what?!"
Well this was expected...
Ruby: "We want you to go to the dance."
Blake: "That's ridiculous."
'Dios mio...'
Yang: "Blake, were worried about you. This investigation is beginning to mess with your head."
Not giving Blake any room to back her way out of the conversation, Weiss began listing off.
Weiss: "You cant sleep, you barely eat. And let's be honest, your grades are starting to suffer."
Blake shrugs in an almost offended way. Gesturing towards the window.
Blake: "You think I care about grades? Peoples lives are at stake!"
Attempting to calm Blake, and sympathize, Yang lowers Blake's hand.
Yang: "We know, and we're all still trying to figure out what Torchwick is up to."
Ruby: "Thanks to you and Sun, we know they're operating somewhere outside of southeast Vale."
Weiss: "And, the Schnee company records singled out Vale as the primary target for Dust robberies over the last few months."
Yang: "Don't forget about their missing military tech too."
Blake shuffles in frustration. She clearly wasnt happy having this conversation. Neither was I honestly. I don't like any of us arguing with eachother.
Blake: "But there's still unanswered questions!"
Ruby: "Blake, you won't be able to find anything if you can't even keep your eyes open!"
Y/n: "My thoughts exactly."
Yang: "All we're asking is that you take it easy for one day."
Weiss: "It will be fun! Yang and I will make sure of it."
Yang: "Yeah! We're planning the whole event!"
Y/n: "Wait, really?"
Blake: "Excuse me?"
Weiss: "Team CFVY's away mission lasted longer than expected."
Yang: "So, Weiss and I were asked to pick up where they left off. And now we can make sure you have the perfect night."
Weiss: "And once it's all over, we'll return for our search, rested and ready."
Ruby: "So what do ya think?"
Blake was silent for a moment. But her opinion was pretty clear.
Blake: "I think this is a colossal waste of time."
She stood up and walked over to the dorm door, obviously done with this conversation.
Blake: "I'll be in the library."
Y/n: "Blake."
For whatever reason, I had her attention for a moment. She stopped. She didnt turn around, but I knew she was listening.
...
"I suppose now is as good a time as any. Do me a favor and take this. And just remember. Fighting is only half the battle..."
Sh finally turned around slightly to see what I was offering. It was a small pendant, very similar to the one I gave Jaune forever ago. But this one was hers.
She stood for a moment longer, before she gently took the pendant and left. Closing the door behind her. The atmosphere was a little low after that.
Yang: "Great..."
Weiss: "She can't keep going on like this."
Y/n: "Got that right..."
'Well shit. What now? If she keeps this up then she just gonna hurt herself. For fuck sake, she already is.'
Ruby: "What was that necklace about though?"
Oh, right.
Y/n: "Shit I almost forgot again. Here."
I managed to conjure up two more of them, holding them out to Yang and Weiss respectively.
They both took their pendants and sort of looked them over for a moment. I guess I would be slightly curious too.
"You dont have to wear them if you dont want to. Just do me a favor and keep them on you. They do have a purpose believe it or not."
Yang tossed hers around in her hand for a moment before she shrugged and put hers on. Weiss studied the piece of jewelry for a moment before she also put hers on.
Yang: "I mean, I dont see why we wouldn't wear them. Thanks Y/n."
Weiss: "I agree, these are quite nice."
Before she could get upset, I turned to Ruby and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
Y/n: "Dont get jealous by the way, cause you're getting an even better one. It's just not done yet."
I can only assume she was pretty happy with that awnser, cause she was certainly blushing a bit. Come to think of it, it's almost criminal that this will be the first gift I've given her once it's done. She deserves a lot more.
Timeskip several hours
Blake Pov
...
...
'Why the hell did he even give me this?'
I was sitting at a table in the library, like I said I would be. Admittedly, I wasnt doing any research. I was staring at this pendant around my neck, trying to figure it out. Why did he give me this?
I mean, knowing Y/n, it could've just been him being nice. He really does love all of us. As a family. He makes it pretty obvious.
But there has to be something more to this right? He specifically asked me to 'do him a favor' by holding on to it. Is it some sort of message? A clue? What?
'Why is it so cold in here now?'
I looked up from the pendant and saw...nothing? Where am I? This feeling is...strange. It was pitch black. I couldnt see anything...but I could tell I was standing? What's going on?
???: "Oh, you're here already."
Off to my right was a super familiar voice, but I couldnt quite place who it was. My head was still full of fog from the lack of sleep. Looking over I saw a door.
I wouldn't say it stood out in any way, aside from the fact that it was already open. Past it was some sort of...food stand maybe? It looked like a place you would go order noodles or kung pao chicken at a fair grounds. Except it also had like...tone of alchohol on shelves behind it. There was also somebody manning the actual stand, but their image was sort of blacked out. I couldnt tell who it was.
"Oh come on Blake, I dont bite, you know that."
I didnt want to trust him, but his familiar presence made me and I stepped through the door. The closer I got though, the faster I paced as it became more and more obvious that it was in fact Y/n I was talking to. Also ot was raining, so there was that. I stopped just in front of him and asked him.
Blake: "Y/n? Where...are we? How did we get here? And-"
I had started overloading him with questions, and he stopped me pretty quick.
Y/n: "Slow down. First of all, sit."
Deciding just to listen to him, I sat down at one of the stools on front of the bar.
"Good. Now have some of this. And no it's not booze. But I can change that if you want."
Out of absolutely nowhere, a glass of what I think was tea slid in front of me. I was honestly just along for the ride at this point so...fuck it.
3rd Person Pov
Running out of the patience for her own caution, Blake took a drink of the tea she was given. She wasnt surprised by some night mare, instead she tasted something entirely new to her. The amazing taste and refreshing nature of the drink served to quickly relax her. Y/n couldnt help but chuckle slightly.
Y/n: "Better?"
Blake suddenly realized she had already annihilated the entire tall glass of tea, and quickly put the glass back kn the bar, certainly embarrassed.
Blake: "Y-yes...thank you."
Y/n: "Anytime Blake. Anyway you wanted to know where we are right? Well we're in my head. I call it the mindspace. It's pretty homey by now. Ruby even managed to find her way here once because of our whole connection."
Blake took a look around her again. The entire stand they were at was very moodily lit. But the surrounding outside were foreign to her. A greyscale city street, that was entirely empty instead of bustling with people. Greyscale neon signs in a language she couldnt read adorning several buildings, and a gentle rain falling from the cloudy grey sky above.
Blake: "But...if Ruby only got here because of your connection...then how am I..."
That was when it suddenly clicked for her. She looked at Y/n, with question in her eyes as she gripped the pendant that hung around her neck still. He smiled at her before beginning to fix himself a drink.
Y/n: "Yep. I figured you were bound to knock yourself out in there eventually. I was planning on giving them to everyone at once, but you rushed me a bit. I made one for Weiss, Yang and JNPR as well. Havent finished Rosebuds' yet."
Blake: "Oh...so I fell asleep...in the library...great..."
He laughed again as he suddenly appeared in the seat next to her with his own tea. He snapped his fingers, and Blake's glass refilled itself.
Y/n: "Well to be fair it is about...three-ish in the morning right now. Everybody else is asleep."
Blake sighed and rested her head in her hand. Was it really that late? She hadnt even noticed the time go by. What was she even doing in the library anyway? It was all a blur for her.
"Your starting to figure out what you've been doing aren't you?"
She didnt respond to him with words, instead nodding before she took a long pull of the tea she was given. Her bow also came off, seeing as she had no reason to wear it. She let the taste swirl around her tongue before she spoke again.
Blake: "What kind of tea is this?"
Y/n: "Its a green tea with added honey, and a spice from earth called ginseng. Good, isnt it?"
Blake: "Personally, I love it."
He laughed yet again, before finishing his drink and standing up. He appeared behind the bar again and set his glass down.
Y/n: "Well, here you are then."
With a slight heave, he hoisted a massive just filled to the brim with tea on to the counter, shaking it slightly. He smiled.
"Feel free to help yourself to whatever it is behind the bar you desire. I'm going to head over there..."
He pointed down the street slightly, and when she looked, a building that wasnt greyscale stood out to her, a large neon sign next to a panda logo labeling it as a place called "Panda Express"
"So if you need me, shout, scream, or think of me. Or y'know, just come visit. It's good eatin'."
He was about ti take off, but stopped himself and turned to her one last time.
"Just promise me one thing, okay? Dont let your Gambol Shroud and your duty decide what's best for you Blake. It doesnt know. Only you and the people around you know that. The burden of your blade, is not yours alone to carry."
With one last pat of the counter, he exited the stand and began walking through the rain towards the resturant. He didnt physically speak to her, but his voice echoed through her mind for one last second.
"Oh, I wouldn't get too shitfaced if I were you though. You're probably gonna have a visitor or two. Check your six."
Yang: "Blake?"
Blake sighed in slight exasperation but admittedly smiled.
Blake: "Dick move Y/n."
