Y/n Pov
Ruby and I were currently sitting in the most cliche interrogation room I've ever seen. Seriously it was your stereotypical dark room with a table and chairs, two for me and Ruby and one for someone else opposite us. All of this was brightly lit by an overhead light that made it nearly impossible to make out any of the walls of the room, and we could only barely see the door to the room on the other side of the table. When they brought us in here they originally tried to put us in two different rooms, but us quite literally refusing to move, they relented. What? I dont want to hurt Ruby, seriously the pain we feel once we pass the distance limit is excruciating. The huntress that fought off those criminals on the bullhead was pacing around the table, looking at a tablet she had with her as she spoke.
Huntress: "I hope you realize that your actions today children will not be taken lightly! You put yourselves and other in great danger!" She said all this as she continued walking around the table, tapping on her tablet occasionally. She still had her riding crop in one hand though. After the last part of her statement, Ruby looked up at the huntress with her eyebrows furrowed.
Ruby: "They started it!" She claimed. I simply nodded to her in agreement and the huntress glared at me slightly, I havent managed to drop this opaque form yet since the roof fiasco and I keep forgetting that people other than Ruby can see and hear me now. She focused on her tablet again as she finished one last lap around the table and stopped in front of the door as she spoke.
Huntress: "That still does not excuse you actions. If it were up to me you'd be sent home with a pat on the back..." Ruby seemed to brighten up as the huntress said this, rising and leaning forward in her chair slightly, but I remained in my position, leaned back with my arms crossed as I tried to guess what she was getting at. Then she finished her thought "...and a slap on the wrist!" As she finished saying this she slapped her riding crop down on the table, nearly hitting Ruby as she jumped back in her seat with a 'Eep!' I didnt like that one bit and shot the huntress a glare rising in my seat slightly to show my annoyance.
Y/n: "Watch where your swinging that thing why don't you..." I said with audible venom. Ruby seemed confused at my response slightly, while the huntress seemed slightly taken aback by my response. Eventually she sighed in exasperation before finishing her thought, moving out of the way of the door as she spoke.
Huntress: "But unfortunately...there is someone here who wants to speak with you." As she finished moving out of the way of the door, a man walked into the room. In one hand he was using a cane while in the other he carried a plate of cookies. Despite looking to be in his late 30's to early 40's he had messy gray hair, and he wore small strangely shaped glasses to go along with his strong chestnut eyes. He wore a black and dark-green button up suit with what appeared to be a green scarf wrapped around his neck with a brooch on it that looked to be a mix of both a clover and a cross.
He walked into the room and gave a sideways glance at me as I leaned back in my chair again, before he focused his attention on Ruby.
???: "Ruby Rose..." he said in a quizzical tone as he then leaned down to her level to get a better look at her before finishing his thought. "...you...have silver eyes..." he stated, squinting at her slightly.
Ruby: "Uh..umm... " Ruby stammered, clearly made slightly uncomfortable by his statement, as I voiced my thoughts, forgetting for a moment that I was currently tangible.
Y/n: "red flag..." I voiced as he then looked right at me. With that same quizzical look.
???: "...as do you..." he stated, maintaining his curious tone.
Y/n: "Wait wait wait I do?!?" Ruby gave me a sideways look with a raised eyebrow.
Ruby: "Uhhh yeah. Havent you noticed? I just thought that was your normal eye color..." she stated. She pulled out her scroll and opened the camera handing it to me so I could get a look. I did so and noticed that I did indeed have bright, silver eyes. They were about the only part of me that wasnt black like a shadow.
Y/n: "Huh...that's new. My eyes used to be brown...how did I never notice that?" I handed Ruby her scroll back, still confused as to how I never noticed my change in eye color. As she took her scroll back, the man shot out a question.
???: "So tell me...where did you learn to do this?" He asked motioning his head to the tablet that the huntress was now showing to us. It showed the footage of Ruby fighting the goons on the street, as well as the seemingly invisible force beating up the other half of the goons.
Ruby: "S-signal academy..." she said nervously.
???: "They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Ruby: "Well...one teacher in particular." She said, referring to her uncle, Qrow Branwen, who she had told me a little bit about.
???: "I see..." he said as he slid the plate of cookies he had on to the table, taking a seat across from us. He clearly didnt realise his blunder as this instantly got Ruby's attention. I quickly took one before she had a chance to do anything and then backed up slightly. She reached out and grabbed one, instantly devouring it as she then looked up at the man for any signs of disapproval. After finding none, she quickly began to shovel the cookies into her mouth at an alarming rate, quickly reducing the plates population while I savored the cookie I managed to snatch. The man continued his thought. "Its just I've only seem one other scythe user of that skill before...a dusty old crow." He said as he looked up slightly, as if recalling a fond memory.
Ruby: "Dsh muh uhnkl!" Ruby spat forth with her mouth still full of cookies, recieving a raised eyebrow from the man.
Y/n: "That's her uncle Qrow. He used to teach at Signal academy." I said for Ruby as she swallowed the last of her cookies and wiped her mouth with a 'sorry', before she spoke up, clearly enthusiastic.
Ruby: "Yeah! I was complete garbage until he took me under his wing and now I'm all like hayaaa-witchaaa." She said excitedly while doing mock karate poses, earning a chuckle from me.
???: "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school to train warriors?" He asked with a tilt of his head. I was slightly creeped out by his words but kept it to myself this time.
Ruby: "Well...I want to be a huntress."
???: "You want to slay monsters?"
Ruby: "Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" She starts talking faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing. "You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!" She let's ou an adorable giggle as she continues. "I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, GOSH, you know!" She finishes her rant with a wide and ecstatic smile. I cant help but smile myself looking at her. The two adults seem to study her for a moment before the man speaks.
???: "Do you know who I am?" He asks. I was confused why he would ask this since it seemed kind of dumb, before Ruby responded.
Ruby: "Your profesor Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy." I went a little wide eyed as I did a double take of the man and let out a 'Huh...funny how that works' before Ozpin continued their conversation.
Ozpin: "Hello" he said casually.
Ruby:"It's nice to meet you" Ruby regreeted him.
Ozpin: "You wish to attend my school?" Ruby looked back at me as I gave her a nod with a smile.
Ruby: "More than anything..." She stated. Ozpin shared a glance with the huntress, as she let out a 'hmph' and looked away from him while crossing her arms.
Ozpin: "Well...alright then." Ruby beamed at him with a 'REALLY?!?' As he nodded to confirm his statement. Ruby jumped up in excitement and then caught me in a surprise hug, which I was too caught off guard to respond to. She quickly noticed her action and let go with a smile and a 'sorry', a tint of pink on her cheeks as I told her it was fine. "Before we continue however..." Oz began gaining both of our attention. "I believe we still have some matters to discuss about you mister..." he led on, expecting my name.
Y/n: "Its Y/n sir. Y/n L/n. I suppose I should've seen this coming." I said responding to him. Why are my eyes so heavy all of a sudden?
Ozpin: "Well I would certainly like to know more about you. Especially how you seemed to appear out of nowhere and create a barrier like you did. As well as why you seemed to be, for the lack of a better word, intangible up to that point." He said as the huntress showed us her tablet again. It displayed the scene on the roof as the dust crystal landed in front of Ruby. It showed the shadows nearby seeming to gather in front of ruby and morph into a bubble like shield around her. When the smoke died down, the swirling shadow barrier fell and I fell to my knees in pain with smoke coming off my back, you could also clearly see ruby grimace slightly as she seemed to feel some pain as well. I looked over to Ruby as if asking her what to do, before she nodded at me. I sighed heavily as I turned back to face Ozpin.
Y/n: "You might want to pull up a chair miss...its a long story." She did as I said, pulling a chair out of the corner and sitting down as i began to tell my story and how I was tethered to Ruby. I also explained that before tonight as well as my selective intangibility and how only Ruby could see or hear me. God I'm tired all of a sudden... "*yawn* I still dont know how I managed to do this really. Havent even tried turning it off yet..."
Ozpin: "Are you feeling well, Mr. L/n?" Oz asked. Seemingly concerned about my sudden fatigue. Ruby also seemed concerned.
Y/n: "Yeah...yeah I'm good...justvreall tired all of a suddeennnn....." and then I blacked out.
3rd Person Pov
Y/n fell forward face first onto the table as he passed out. After hitting the table with a loud bang. He instantly disappeared from view for everybody except Ruby, who took notice of his once again transparent appearance. Ozpin was visibly shocked at this but kept his composure, while the huntress simply sighed in exasperation. Ruby gave out a groan as she spoke.
Ruby: "Great...now I'm gonna have to carry him all the way home somehow." She said, clearly not looking forward to the idea.
Ozpin: "Well I believe given the circumstances we can provide you with a bullhead home and continue this discussion at a later date. I do wonder how you plan to explain this to your family though." Ozpin stated in a slightly amused tone as he glanced to the spot where he saw Y/n sitting just a moment prior.
Ruby's Pov
Crap! I completely forgot about dad and Yang! Dads gotta be crawling up the walls right now...Yangs probably sound asleep.
"Yeah..." I started, as I looked down at Y/n's peaceful sleeping form before I finished my thought. "...I'll wing it..."
Dang I think Y/n's makeshift approach is starting to rub off on me...

(Aaaand there it is! This chapter is much shorter than normal sitting at 2100 words. I hope you enjoyed our little talk with Ozpin. I tried to spice up the scene slightly but it's hard to do that with Ruby's conversation with Oz. Well o hope you enjoyed it nonetheless. Sorry if there are a few errors. I can barely keep my eyes open right now. Goodnight everyone, and until next time.)
(Some tunes for yall)
