CHAPTER THREE

SHE DOESN'T BELIEVED in love at first sight, because for her people can't just love someone by their first time seeing the person, they could feel attraction maybe, or even infatuation, but that can't be love, because love is a long process before you could actually feel it. but she was mistaken.

It all started when she saw a boy on their way to their new house. Only to find out that he's the son of her father's best friend way back his youth days. As she saw his dark brown eyes, she knew to herself that he has captured her young heart and at the same time, her beliefs about love at first sight was broken. Because even though she admits it or not, she has fallen in love with him the first time her eyes landed to him.

"Hi!" He greeted her, a smile shone on his lips, while she on the other hand hid behind the back of her mother who just chuckled with her reaction, she honestly don't know what to say, her mother says she was so talkative, but when the young boy talked to her, it seems that cat got her tongue, she couldn't fumble for a sentence, word even.

"Yeiz, what would you say?" Her mom asked making the young Anayeiz gulped before looking at her, she felt blood rushed through her cheeks before she finally found a word to utter, "H-Hello." She squeaked, doubting if he had ever heard her, but much to her surprise when his smile turned into a grin and offer his hand to her.

"I'm Levi... Levi Ephraim Evans!" He said, she looked at his hand, hesitating if she were to take it or not, but in the end she decided to take it, "Y-Yeiz... Anayeiz Cassiopeia Enriquez." She even stuttered upon saying her nickname, her eyes glued on the ground for she couldn't look on his eyes directly.

"Oh well, it seems that you two get along well, We'll leave the two of you to play." Mrs. Enriquez said, in which both of their parents agreed on what her mom said.

"Let's go?" He asked her, but even before she could answer him, he grabbed her little arm and dragged her to the playground just in front of their new house, "Wait Lee." She called, the latter shifted his vision to her in confusion, thinking if she was deaf or what so ever, "It's Levi, not Lee." He just said, thinking that maybe she haven't heard him clearly. For the first time, Anayeiz smiled at him before saying, "I know. But your initials were L-E-E that's why I decided to call you Lee instead." She said, it seems that he get what she meant because he smiled at her, "If that's what you want."

THEY GOT VERY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER, not just because he was living next door, but because they would hang out each time they have the time to do so. Each day that passes by, the more Anayeiz fall for him, and it's drowning her, she was afraid that she couldn't get out of the intoxication. They were so close to each other that she hadn't thought that he'll slowly drift away from her. She just just in second year high school that time when he graduated. After he passed the entrance exam on Harvard university and take Bachelor of Science in management, he might have forgotten that once he knew a girl that named Anayeiz Cassiopeia Enriquez. Each time Anayeiz send him messages, email or voice call he wouldn't response. She was worried on what had happened to him, that's why she decided that once she finished high school she'll follow him to the university he's attending.

She study hard, because she knew that all her hardship is worthy. She has a goal to do so, and that is to graduate so that she'll be with him as soon as possible. Each year she gets an honorable mention, and on her last year in highschool, she manage to become the valedictorian of their batch, but that's not the reason why she was ecstatic, she was happy that finally she could go to college already and be with Lee.

She knew she was being obsessed by the thought of being with him together, but she couldn't blame herself, she missed him terribly. She haven't seen him for years already, and just by going to college was her opportunity to be with Lee. She was longing for him and she was afraid that she was already intoxicatedly inlove with him. She took up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, not just because she could handle their companies financial statement, but because it was a close course to Lee's chosen profession.

The First day of her being in college came too fast, she inhaled the sweet scent of Harvard once she stepped foot inside the said university. At first Anayeiz thought that once she go to college she would definitely see Lee, but she stand corrected, it was impossible for her to see him at her first day because the university was bigger than she thought. Months had passed and the semester's about to end already but she still hasn't seen her reason of going to the said university. She was even wondering to herself sometimes if he was hiding from her, but why would he hide? Is the semester will end without her seeing even just a glimpse of him? Would she even have the chance to see him even before he graduate? She sighed all her question to the air, until that day come.

She was on on her way to her next class, almost running to the corridor even though there's a sign that says 'no running in the corridor' because if she doesn't, she would be late already, the subject was one of her major subject and at the same time her professor's a terror. Even if she's just a second late, once she's late her professor wouldn't let her in to his class.

As she turned to the left corner where the room for her next subject resides, she bumped herself into someone, she was about to say her apology and proceed on going to her subject when her blue eyes caught a glimpse of dark brown eyes, pointed nose, thin lips, perfectly shaped jaw, and his black rugged hair, she was sure to herself that it was Lee. She haven't seen those features for years and the effect he has on her were still the same. His body was toned already, unlike before, he became a god after the years.

With astonishment scribbled in her blue eyes, she uttered his name that's being used by her only, "Lee." His eye brows ceased on confusion before looking at her, as if checking if he knew who she was, but then his eyes widen as if he finally realized who she was, "You! You should be careful next time miss." He said, in an instant, Anayeiz eyes were scribbled in pain. Miss? How could he forget about her that fast? When all this years she'd done nothing but think of him.

She tried to smile at him, but it turned more likely a grimace, asking herself if she were tell him who she was or not? But even before she could decide, he left her standing on the corridor, tears sprout on her eyes, but she quickly wiped it, chanting to herself like a mantra that mustn't cry. Once she recovered, she quickly ran to her next subject.

FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, a sigh escaped Anayeiz's lips as she waited for him on the university's main gate, she doesn't know if she would see him there but she'll take her chances, she doesn't want to go to her dorm without seeing him, but hours have passed and the afternoon turned into night but still no Lee to show up. She sighed once more before deciding to just went home and call it a night.

The next day, she went to the university as early as she could only to look for him, but just like yesterday and the past few months, she haven't seen him. Her stomach's grumbling already for she haven't taken her breakfast, she was hoping to see him enter the main gate but he didn't. She raised her left arm to see what time it is already, it was 7:30 in the morning already, and her first subject was in 8:00 o'clock. She decided to went to the cafeteria and grab some snacks, she doesn't want to enter a class with a grumbling stomach after all. She was about to order on the counter of something to fill her empty stomach when a guy cut in line, she was furious about it and was about to yell to the guy when he looked at her. She flinched upon seeing his russet eyes, of all the places, she will see him there.

His gaze didn't last long because he turn his head back to the counter and ordered something, while Anayeiz on the other hand was still behind him, she reminded herself to talk to him once she saw him, but it was as if she got her tongue tied that she couldn't fumble for word. Lee looked at her once more, making her hitched her breath when she felt his hand on her shoulders, slightly shaking her. Just then, she realized that she stopped breathing the moment she realized who it was, "Miss... I know I'm hot as fuck, but please breath, people might blame me if you died in suffocation." He said, being cocky and all, But despite him being cocky, she doesn't know why but she felt like she's falling for him for more.

"Lee..." She called, making him creased his eyebrows, and him creasing his eyebrows look so hot, "How... Why did you call me that?" He asked, probably because he still hadn't realized who she was, but even before Anayeiz could answer him, someone yelled her whole name, "Anayeiz Cassiopeia Enriquez! Gosh! I've been looking for you! Our class' about to start!" One of her friend yelled, making her turn her vision on her, she grabbed Anayeiz elbow and start dragging her to their class which was Economics and Taxation.

Anayeiz looked back to where he was standing only to see him looking back at her, eyes widen in disbelief, lips parted which she really find so damn hot, he murmured something but that didn't escape her ears because he wasn't that far from them, "...Yeiz."  It was her nickname he murmured, but in an instant she felt her heart flutter in happiness, it was just her nickname he said but her day was already completed. She had forgiven him for not having a communication for years.

With a smile still casted on her face, Brenda looked at her as if she had grown a head or two, "What are you grinning for? First time seeing Levi Ephraim? you're dumbstruck? You like him too? Oh honey, welcome to the club!" Brenda giggled sheepishly as her face turns red due from blushing but Anayeiz just looked at her as if saying that Brenda was kidding her. Her, first time seeing Lee? She chuckled at the thought, "Yes, it's the first time I see Lee again... After three years." She said that made the latter stop from giggling.

"His name's Levi, not Lee Anayeiz, and I know it's okay for us to assume, but seriously? We're just college freshman and it's way too impossible for you to know him three years ago." Brenda said, shaking her head as if telling me her she's insane, "Oh Brenda honey, I'm serious. He lives next door on our subdivision in Manhattan, and at the same time we're both alumni of Manhattan Academy. I know his name, but I prefer calling him that because I got used to it." Anayeiz said to her brunette friend before fishing her phone out of her pocket and let Brenda see her wallpaper- a picture of her and Lee when we're still back on Manhattan.

"Oh gosh! I envy you, you're one lucky girl!" Brenda said, making her grin from ear to ear. Indeed, she was one lucky girl.

AFTER WHAT SEEMS LIKE ENTERNITY, Their Instructor finally dismissed them. Anayeiz who has her printed copies out quickly put it inside her back pack, taking the books that still on her desk on her hand before deciding to exit the room, but she couldn't for students blocked her way out and they were screaming as if they have seen a Hollywood star or something.

When she found a way for her to get out of the ocean of people, she quickly turned to her right where the university's takes place when she felt a hand grabbed her forearms. On instinct, Anayeiz looked to see who it was and much to her surprise when she saw Lee right in front of her, a goofy grin was planted on his lips. Is he the reason for the big crowd?

"Lee!" she said, still don't know what just happened, what's only on her mind is that Lee probably waited for her outside her room, "Yeiz! Damn I missed you so much! Why didn't you tell me you're studying here?" He asked, suddenly she felt a hole inside heart because of what he'd said, but she just smiled at him, but she was sure that he was aware of her fake smile, "Well, I'm sorry if I hadn't said anything about studying here for like a a million times already Lee. Sorry if I hadn't emailed you that I graduated as a valedictorian and decided to take up BSA. And I'm sorry if I hadn't looked for you here for like months ago when the school starts." she knows she sounds like bitch girlfriend, but she couldn't blame myself, bitterness dripped to her voice like acid.

He looked confused and all before his features soften, "Oh Gosh Yeiz! I haven't opened my emails for a long time, and I also change my number. Sorry Yeiz, I'll make it up to you." He said, he sure looks sorry. A genuine smile makes way on her lips, she was ecstatic that she says sorry.

Since that day, they always hang out together, making her think that maybe they share the same feelings... That maybe he likes her too as much as she likes him. But all her day dreams were crushed into mere pieces when he introduced a blonde girl to her. Her eyes were as blue as ocean, just like hers, little pointy nose, thin kissable lips, and a perfectly shaped eye brows, a right term that could be use for her was an angel. She wore a floral dress that is a see through on the back, and a white flats to match, while she just wore a denim ripped jeans, a chuck Taylors and a tees she bought of Fudge Rock. Just seeing this beauty in front of her ignites the flame of insecurities within her, she's so out of her league.

"Hey." Anayeiz said, putting her best fake smile she could muster on her lips, she turned to face Lee only to see him grinning at her as if he had won a lottery or something, "Yeiz, this was Andy." He introduced, Andy or so what her name was smiled genuinely at her, but she could see on her eyes the irritation, Like she did something wrong to her for her to secretly hate her.

"Hi, Andy. The name's Anayeiz." She said, trying to act so casual even offering her hand to the blonde but she just looked at it, Anayeiz clapped her hands to cover up herself from the rejection the blonde did to her, she just nod at her making Anayeiz furrow her eyebrows, she heard Lee cleared his throat before mouthing, "Be nice to her," he then smiles at her before saying those four words that ends up shattering her whole world, "Yeiz, she's my girlfriend."
