Mending The Pieces
"HAPPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! REJOICE YOUNGER BROTHER! REJOICE!" Lenka's voice rang into my ear causing me to sit back promptly.
"Gah! What's with you today?!" Ignoring her words, I scratched my eyes, trying to get a clearer sight of her, still bemused of what she's saying
"Uhh, hello? December 27? Remember?" She gasped and waved her hand right in front of my sight.
"And?" I abruptly replied, rolling my eyes.
She just disturbed me from sleeping! Of course I'll be grumpy, well, I suppose she does lack of common sense so it may be normal for her to behave this way.
"Oh my freaking God Lenny. It's our birthday for fuck's sake."
It is? I gazed up the calendar right in front of my bed. December 27....Oh, it is.
"Oh, you're right." I sheepishly replied and jumped out off bed and headed to the bathroom.
Peeping out, I saw her still sitting, doing nothing.
"Um, since when did you started swearing?" I asked curiously knowing how innocent my "older" sister is.
"Just now." Lenka muttered under her breathe, gritting her teeth and stood up to walk away from my room.
Well, I guess it's my fault. But we are both 19 by now.

Walking down the stairs, I've seen tints of red, yellow, orange and blue flying within the air.
After taking the last step hearing a slight crack,
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEN."
It was only my mom and Lenka who were screaming their lungs out, it was usually just Lenka though.
"And it's my birthday too so happy birthday to me!" Lenka added and slowly walked to the table where the Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Mousse cake is.
"Let's eat!" Excitedly grabbing the fork, mom pulled her ear not too roughly and stared at her.
"How about breakfast my dear? You know I've exerted a lot of effort into making our breakfast." A weirdly creepy smile was plastered on her face and an unbelievable aura was surrounding her in a snap. You know that scary mother type of aura? That.
"Oh! How could I have forgotten? Hehehe.." My sister gulped as she examined our mother's look.
Clenching my chair tightly, I pulled it backwards and went upfront to be able to seat.
"Itadakimasu."
"Where's dad?" Lenka asked curiously whilst grabbing a toast and started spreading an uneven coating of peanut butter and strawberry jam.
"Unfortunately, he got a ton of work piled up cause of his day off yesterday so he had to go back at the office." Mom replied scratching her neck.
I sliced the egg with my fork before eating it, staying silent.
"Well, when is he coming back?"
"Probably at midnight dear." Lenka frowned as she heard the words.
"On our birthday? Shouldn't he at least spend an hour with us today?" She bit her lips and placed the slice of bread on her plate to get her fried rice.
"Well... He is very busy these days so please just understand him."
Or rather he simply just doesn't want to see me
Mom turned the TV on, switching the channels to the news.
"It seems like there was an accident that occured last week, right Kiyo?"
"Indeed right Miki-chan. The accident took place near the ABC bridge where a car fell onto the river. The driver was found dead while the passengers barely made it alive. The other passenger was indeed lucky to contain only wounds while the other one's currently in a coma as of now."
"Quite unfortunate if I may say.."
"Now let's move on to the weather forecast."
"Anyways, I thought you wanted to invite someone?"
Hmm.. Wait a moment... It's also her birthday right? So.. Where's-
"Rin? Oh yeah. I wonder where she is? She's pretty late.."
"Should I perhaps go to her house?'" I stood up abruptly, not bothering to fetch the spoon that had fallen onto the polished mahogany floor.
"No, no. We should be patient, right Lenka?" Turning to Lenka, she replied with a nod
"Yep, she might have overslept or she's still fixing her presents for us! Chillax baby bro." I rolled my eyes at her remark. Her expectations are high as always. I never really wanted any presents, I just wanted her to come here so I could see her but I do hope that she was only late because of the reasons that Lenka stated.
After eating, mom decided to go out and buy another cake even though we already have two at hand, we highly recommended banana cake but mom said she wanted her favorite carrot cake instead but of course we won after debating for at least 30 minutes since today is indeed our day that we descended to earth.
Rolling over, switching sides on the couch, I stared at the screen that's displaying on my phone, desperate to receive a single message from Rin.
"Ne~ Len, why can't you just wait patiently for your lovey dovey?" She snickered which I replied with a frown.
"Well, she's not the type of girl to be late, she arrives an hour earlier but where could she be now?"
Rin, Rin, Rin, the words repeating inside my head like a broken record, replaying over and over again. Since when did I felt this way?
I've been starting to notice how weird my feelings are, during these past few days. Especially when I'm around her.
I don't know why but there's this somehow magnetic force pulling- or rather attracting me towards her. It just felt so.. So- so surreal. I've really never confronted it to anyone but I guess this is the right time to do so...
"U-Um.. Lenka?" I stuttered, feeling a pang of anxiety at first but eventually got it steady.
"Yep?"
"I have no idea what to call this but, do you know that feeling? That feeling when your stomach seemed to have butterflies and all that junk when you're around a specific person..? And the feeling of wanting to... You know.. Let that person stay in your life like you don't want her to leave you, you want to spend a lot of time with her and etcetera.." I awkwardly said, shifting from side to side.
"O-M-G Lenny-kins!! You're in looveee!!"
"R-Really?"
"YASSS, I'M SO GLAD THAT YOU'RE NOT GAY THOUGH." She mentioned while doing her "victory dance".
"What do you mean?!" I shouted while looking at her eyes with a bemused look.
"I mean you always hang out with that blue haired guy and you don't seem to have any more friends except for Ri-- YOU LIKE RIN?!"
"I-I don't know.. Love I guess??" I sighed, feeling my cheeks that started to become red.
"Yokatta! Rin is perffffect! To be my sister-in-law!! Wait- does she know about this? Does she? Does she?!" Lenka said, leaning towards my face.
I pushed her face back gently with a flustered look. "J-Jeez, you're the only person I told about this.."
"Well then! Grab your phone and wallet and get out of here!" She said while giving me my phone that was with her all along.
"W-What?? Why?"
"Duuuh! So you could go and tell Rin about this!" She muttered while pulling me out of the couch.
"Isn't this a little bit too sudden??" I asked, standing up as I looked at my phone to see if she messaged me. Inbox is still empty..
"Nothing's sudden when it comes to love! Now go before I spank your whiny ass!" She said while handing me a 10 dollar bill.
"What am I--" Thinking back to what she had said, I bit my lips and rushed to the door, slamming it open. Before proceeding to go out, I looked at Lenka and smiled at her.
"Thank you, onee-chan.." I said before running out of the house.
"Good luck lil brother!!"
I gripped at my phone tightly, looking around my surroundings to check where she could have been. I went to her house, trying to get some air in the process.
"Rin! Rin! Are you in here?!" I said while knocking at the door. But no one seemed to answer.
"Boy, she's not in there." A sudden voice surprised me, glancing at the direction where it came from.
"Rin, you're looking at her right?" The woman with long blonde locks said, looking at me with her somehow dull blue eyes. Her appearance reminded me of somebody else, she looks like Rin but more mature. Is this her sister..?
"Yes.." I softly replied, eyeing her.
"I know where she is, I mean he knows where she is." The girl replied, looking up to the sky.
He? Who else is she talking about?
"Rinto, it'd be rude if you don't appear here. We're her siblings you know?" The woman sighed while facepalming
"Yeah, yeah, I'm here." A boy jumped on the ground from the roof, he too had blonde hair and unlike the woman, he looks like the male version of Rin.
"She's at the park nearby. Time's running out so I suggest you go to her quickly before that happens." I nodded and rushed to the park after thanking them, where she was located. Not asking anymore questions regarding the "that" that he's speaking of.
I saw her silky blonde locks, her white ribbon and her usual outfit.. That was her.. I walked towards Rin, looking at her back.
"R-Rin?"
