Chapter 14: Truth

Jewel looked at Ruby and sighed. "The truth is I do like Cinder," Jewel said looking at her.

"Then why don't you tell her?" Ruby asked looking at him.

"It's a bit complicated," Jewel said looking at her. He didn't want to tell Ruby about her true intentions. After all if he did it could be bad.

"Oh, okay, well why do you like her?" Ruby said looking at Jewel.

"It's a long story," Jewel said with a sigh. This was also the truth why wouldn't he like her? She was the first person to ever show him any kindness.

He may have had a little trouble remembering at first but he remembered perfectly who she was. Jewel then looked up and saw that Cinder was talking to the male she had just been dancing with.

He couldn't hear what she was saying but she seemed a little a mad. Jewel also read their aura to see that Cinder was angry like he thought she was, but he also saw that the male was a little nervous.

Jewel then watched as Cinder walked outside still visibly upset. "I'm going to go," Jewel said looking at Ruby. The female watched as he left the building and smiled.

Jewel looked around for Cinder and when he found her he walked up to her. "You okay?" Jewel asked looking at her.

Cinder was surprised to hear someone was behind and when she looked at him she smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said looking at him. Jewel sighed hearing this and sat down beside her.

"A perk of my semblance is I can tell when someone's lying to me. So want to tell me what's wrong?" Jewel asked looking at her. Cinder tried to come up with an explanation as fast as she could however none of them would help her.

"Does it have to do with harming others?" Jewel asked looking at her. Cinder tensed up at this slightly and looked at the white haired male across from her.

"It's fine if it does. You're aura's riddled with evil intentions so it's not hard to tell. It's still as evil as the day I left," Jewel said looking at Cinder.

"So you do remember?" Cinder asked looking at Jewel.

"I didn't remember until tonight but, now that I do yes I do remember you," Jewel said looking at her.

"Well then I guess I can trust you. The boy you saw me dancing with in there. His name is Murcury, he recently told me that he had Emerald use her semblance so that he could attack you," Cinder said looking at him.

Jewel was a little surprised to hear this but it wasn't that unexpected. After all he could feel the aura if others. He could tell from the beginning he was the one who attached him. He just didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone.

"So why were so mad?" Jewel asked still not understanding why she was so upset with him.

"Well I was going to ask you to join me. However I can see any chance of that happening has been destroyed," Cinder said looking at him.

"Even if he hadn't attached me I still wouldn't have joined you," Jewel said looking at Cinder.

"Why not?" The female asked looking at him.

"Because you want to destroy this world. I know a long time ago I may have taken you up on your offer but not now. I care about so many things. I care about myself, I care about this world, and I care about you," Jewel said looking at her.

Cinder was a bit embarrassed by his last comment although she didn't show it. Jewel then heard something from inside the building and looked at Cinder.

"I think we still have time for a dance together," Jewel said standing up. Cinder looked at him and smiled, she already had everything she needed for the night so she figured she could have a little fun.

"Okay then, I hope your dancing is as good as your fighting," Cinder said taking Jewel's hand.

"Yeah, you and me both," Jewel said as the two walked into the building.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Cinder asked looking at Jewel.

"I was trained to fight, not dance," Jewel said looking at Cinder. The black haired female smiled at this and took Jewel onto the dancefloor.

"It's not that hard, we just intertwine our hands together like this," Cinder said as she took Jewel's hand with her own. "Then move your free hand here," Cinder said as she took Jewel's other hand and placed it above her waist.

Jewel felt his face heat up slightly at this and tried to focus on moving his body to the music. Which he found increasingly difficult to do.

How could he not someone that he thought was beautiful was in his arms. Not to mention that she seemed to be enjoying herself. How could he focus on anything but her?

"You're to tense, stay loose," Cinder said looking at him. Jewel nodded and tried to relax however found that he couldn't. However when he looked at Cinder he felt the urge to scan her aura again.

When he did he found that it was slightly different from before. Still violent and evil, but this time there was something else there with it. It almost felt passionate.

Jewel was able to relax feeling this and unknown to him his aura started to relax. Cinder saw this and used her aura to connect with his. When she did she felt a warm pressense fill her body.

She could feel that it was Jewel's aura. She didn't understand how her aura was so easily overpowered by his and at the moment she didn't care.

It felt nice to her. Like she had been freezing for years and then was suddenly stopped being cold. When the music stopped she looked at Jewel and smiled.

Hard to think that he went from her potential adopted son to someone who managed to put her at ease. She looked at him her golden eyes locked with ruby eye.

Cinder smiled at this and separated from Jewel. "I'll see you around, and my offer to join me is always open," she said as she walked away.

Jewel smiled and looked around. There wasn't much left him to do there.

1. Stays and talks to friends
2. Leaves and goes to his dorm
3. Leaves to find Murcery
4. Leaves to find Cinder
