One year had passed since Jewel had become free. He wasn't sure how he should spend his time. After all until now the only thing he had ever been taught was how to take a life.

Although at times he had trouble with that part. He managed to hide the suit that he always wore for the main reason he was told to alway hide it when he was in public and that no matter what he was to never take it off.

He planned on following these last few orders he was given but he didn't really know why he should. As he walked down into the subway he looked around and saw a man being beaten.

He was going to do something until someone else showed up and chanced them off. Jewel sighed at this and walked down the subway system. He had been told it was good place to stay dry.

When he found a random spot he sat down and began to think to himself he may have only been seven at the time but he had unknowingly been though much more than most men would ever go through. So he was a bit smarter than normal.

'I was supposed to protect humans and Faunus alike. How can I do that when they are rapidly in conflict with one another. It just doesn't make sense to me. How can I protect something from something else I am also supposed to protect?' Jewel wondered as he sat down.

After several moments had passed he got up and walked up the subway system after all it had to have stopped raining by now. When he reached the surface he looked around and saw a building with a few people in it.

He was trying to learn what everything was so he of course went into the store not knowing that it sold almost exclusively dust. When he walked in an explosion threw him forward and into a man with a strange uniform.

It was man wearing a white suit with a red wolf and claw marks through it on his chest. "Hey kid where's you mom?" The man asked pushing Jewel back.

"I never knew my mom," Jewel said as he got up off the ground. The man then pushed Jewel back onto the ground and placed his foot ontop of his head.

"It's about time a human knows the pain of us Faunus. Did you know that 65% of all Faunus are born orphans?" The man asked looking at him.

"Yes and 50% of them don't live to see their twentieth birthday because of unforeseen circumstances. Then out of those 75% don't get good jobs leading to them into a life of crime," Jewel said looking at the wall in front of him.

The man was amazed at how much this child knew but it just enraged him after he heard it. After all he was human not Faunus he could never know their struggles.

The male picked Jewel up and pinned him to the wall by his neck making it hard for him to breath after all he was still eight so he wasn't that heavy. "P-please I don't want to hurt you but i-if you continue then I'll be forced to-," Jewel said as his head was forced into the wall.

"Forced to what? Call for your human friends? Kid I want to show you how the real world works," the man said looking at him. When he said this a woman was pushed forward and forced to the ground.

The man that had Jewel pinned to the wall then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the older woman. Jewel's eyes widened and looked at the male in front of him.

He was planning to kill an innocent woman. Jewel no longer saw him as a friend now Jewel saw him as an enemy and if there was one thing Jewel was told to do when faced with an enemy it was to attack.

Jewel used his aura to enhance his body placed his hand at the males elbow and brought his arm down on it. This caused a crack to fill the air and when the male dropped Jewel.

The young white haired male gathered aura around his hands and touched the male before turning the aura he had gathered into electricity. When he did he produced more than he intended and the male was sent into the wall.

When the others wearing similar uniforms saw this they all attacked him and Jewel had done what he had always done when he was attacked he fought back.

When he was done he looked at the former hostages that had been freed and smiled. He expected a thank you or a good job but instead what he got both shocked and saddened him.

"F-FREAK!" One of them said followed by another and another. Until eventually it was just insults that were being thrown at him. Jewel didn't understand he had saved them so why? Why were they treating him like this?

It wasn't their fault they had just seen something that they thought they'd never see. A child had just defeated several members of the white fang. They might have had a different reaction if it wasn't for one detail.

His eyes just like those with silver eyes were said to become great and powerful warriors. Those with red eyes were said to be completely evil.

It was nothing more than a rumor and one that Jewel hadn't heard. However a child with red eyes had just defeat five men that were capable of holding their own. How else could this have happened?

Not wanting to hear anymore of what they had to say Jewel ran out of the store. As he ran out he let tears fall from his eyes. He wasn't a freak or a monster he was just doing what he was taught.

He turned down an alleyway because he was no longer able to see where he was going through his tears. When he did he sat down and began to cry.

He had been trained his entire life always being told that he wasn't good enough and that he needed to be better and now that he was saving people now that he was finally good enough they called him a freak.

He was so confused and sad he was so full of emotions that crying was his first instinct. He stayed like that for several minutes until he heard a voice.

"What's wrong?" He heard someone ask.

When he looked up to see who asked he saw someone who he thought looked rather strange.
