Juniper sneered as she shoved someone out of her path. The colorful lights flashing, reflecting off of her sunglasses.

The club was shaking with the music that blared all around her as Seraphina clung to her arm.

The two dark skinned women made their own path towards the bar. Juniper's indigo hair was pulled up and out of her eyes as it fell in neatly straightened strands around her heart shaped face.

Seaphina, a nymph, who she has known for majority of her life grinned at the bartender.

"I'm so glad you've come, Juni. It's about time you stopped isolating yourself."

"You know that's not why I'm here," Juniper leaned her back against the cold counter of the bar.

Her breasts were suffocated in the tight corset-esque top of her little black dress she'd forced her body into.

The club had a certain dress code that needed to be maintained upon entry.

The two were surrounded by demons, free to express themselves amongst a similar crowd.

"Remind me how you got into the demon only island?"

Juniper used one manicured nail to push down her sunglasses, cloudy gray eyes met Seraphines sheepish gaze.

"You know how they are with nymphs, we get let in anywhere. It's not like we're a threat, I work at the hospital and supply it with herbs. I make myself useful, I get a free ticket on Saint Island."

Seraphina was dressed to the nines, in a laced brown dress that almost meshed with her skin tone. Her make up was done precisely, her hair tumbling down her back in pretty locs that framed her slender face.

Juniper trailed her gaze down her friends attire, wrapping her plush lips around the straw of her drink. "You waitin' for somebody or something?"

The demoness grunted as she stared at the man peaking between her uncrossed legs.

When he was caught, he coughed and turned away. While he was distracted, she reached a heel over and pressed it to the cushion of his seat.

A pitiful pout tugged at her lips before she shamelessly toppled over the man's seat.

He crashed to the floor and Juniper frowned in disgust.

"I may have met someone," Seraphina grinned.

Juniper hummed in interest, more so drawn to the man she'd pushed over start a fight with a hell hound and accusing him of being the one who knocked him over.

"Pheonix. He's in the Berserker's Court," Seraphine sighed dreamily.

Juniper stiffened and glared at her companion.

"You brought me here the same night they're here?" she hissed lowly.

Seraphina was used to the intimidating demeanor. Brushing it off with a wave of her hand.

"They have no interest in you, June. Don't over react, they have no idea you're even here. They accept all demons. Even the hybrid ones."

Juniper stood up abruptly, gripping her friends arm to gain her attention.

"I'm not just a random fucking hybrid," the bluenette snarled. "You know that!"

"Juniper," Seraphina winced at the fire in her tone. "You know I'd never let anything happen to you."

Gritting her pearly teeth together, Juniper let her go.

"Why don't you go find the man you sold me out for?" She scoffed in disbelief as she sat heavily back down at the bar.

"June..." Seraphina whined. "Juni, if I knew how important this was to you I never would've come." She pouted while resting her chin against Juniper's shoulder.

The angry woman sighed, it's not like she explained the entire situation to the nymph anyways.

"We can leave," Seraphina began gathering her stuff up with a determined look.

"No," Juniper pressed a hand to her shoulder and pushed her to sit back down.

"It's fine. I'll make due, yeah? You're right, I'm overreacting."

Seraphina made her promise that she was okay before getting comfortable once again.

"Where's Warren?" Juniper waved her hand to order another drink. "He's late."

"He probably is chatting up some broad, you know him. I know for a fact he's in the building, I have his location. How was he when he picked you up from the portal hub?"

The island had a powerful ward around it, the most powerful to date with multiple witches that had worked on it. They have one entry point that employed witches maintain scheduled portals for arriving demons. Their paperwork is checked out and approved before they're escorted onto the premises.

Juniper had to admit she was impressed.

"He was more serious that usual," Juniper stirred her drink. "Which I appreciated considering the circumstances."

Warren held her in a tight hug as she stepped out of the portals.

Juniper spared a small grin, eyeing the witches around her over his shoulder.

"It's safe here, ease up," Warren whispered in her ear.

His horns knocked against her temple, she winced and tugged away.

His large form was dressed in casual clothing, his sweater clinging to his muscles. His silver horns shined in the light as his red eyes gleamed down at her. His neatly groomed blonde hair was pushed out of his eyes.

"You look good," she nodded up at him. "You know for a hell hound."

He knocked his shoulder against hers playfully. They always liked to pander to the age long feud between hell hounds and shadow demons. It was squashed just in the recent century but animosity still lingers.

"You look even better Junip! The sun will do you good," he threw an arm over her shoulder.

"I don't like the sun," she drawled. Ironic being that she now lived on an island.

"None of you shadow beings do. Yet, so many stay hm? Hopefully you'll do the same," he side eyed her as he carried her bags. She didn't protest, even handing him an extra one.

"It depends."

"No one will find out, June," he sighed quietly.

"Discretion here is the new currency," he added under his breath. She only hummed.

"There's more witches than I thought," Juniper glanced behind them as they approached a car.

"It's a necessary evil for the demons safety. They're all sworn to secrecy with the promise of death and blah blah blah. Did you hear the Bordoa's had their first grandchild?"

The legacy name rang bells, some of the only figure heads she didn't dislike in the political world.

"I didn't." Her voice was curt as she stared at the interior of the car. "Good for them."

Warren winced, children. A sore subject, "I'm sorry..."

"It's fine. Let's get going before Seraphina starts blowing up my phone."

Catching sight of silver horns in the crowd, Juniper stood up.

"You go find your lover boy. You're practically foaming at the mouth, I'll find our hound."

Seraphine grinned widely, squeezing June's hand before clicking off in her heels.

Gripping her drink and downing it in one last gulp, she turned to venture into the crowd. Feeling the especially strong liquor set fire in her veins she allowed her shoulder to loosen.

Looking around she frowned when she lost sight of Warren, with a deep breath she delved into the crowd.
