Simple Rules
*Updated as of October 12*
Hi, it's Junie here! I love to help my fellow writers grow by writing some reviews, or at least help them gain some readers through a promo. If you would like that for your book, then fill out one of the forms on the following pages.
But, before I get to that, there are a few rules that you must know about before making a request. I try to make this process as painless as possible, but for that to happen, you must corporate with me.
First Rule: I only accept 3 reviews/promos at a time. I don't mind working on three projects at once, but it's when I get more than that I start to get a bit flustered. Please don't make a request for a review if I've already accepted three books to review and/or promote. I won't accept the review/promo until I have an open slot, so you may be waiting a while if you make a request. If you make a request when I've already accepted 3 projects, then I will put your book on standby. What this means is that I will not accept it until there's an open slot so that I can give you a clearer timeline as to when the review is finished.
I will put up what books I'm working on in the review divider of this book. It has a cute little banner of the Pokémon, Jirachi, in front of a moon. There it will list what books I've reviewed, what books I'm currently working on, and if there are any open slots for me to take reviews. Promos operate the same way, and that divider has a picture of a bird-like Pokémon, Fletchling, sitting on a tree branch.
As to how many reviews I can do for you, the writer, is infinite. Just be considerate of others, and only request a review/promo during a time I have an open slot.
Second Rule: Fill out every section of the form. If the section is optional, you do not need to fill that out if you don't want it. Everything that's not optional should be filled out though. I know some forms may seem long, but due to how I run things and format the review/promo, there are just a few sections to fill out so that I can move onto reviewing/critiquing/promoting your story much faster. It also keeps me organized which, again, saves time.
Third Rule: Be kind, considerate, and patient. I usually get a review done within a week or two, even if I say otherwise. If I say it will take longer than that, please count on that longer time frame. The moment you tell me that a time frame is unreasonable, or grow impatient, I may drop the review due to rudeness. I don't tolerate that. I will try to give you updates of how things are going via private message to help with this urge of wondering how things are going.
Fourth Rule: I accept both complete and incomplete books. My goal will be to read the amount that you have posted at the time of the request, but that may not happen. At minimum, I'll read at least 5 chapters if I'm running low on time. If you want my thoughts on the entire thing, please wait until you are finished and make it clear that you want me to review the entire book. After I am done doing a review, I will be more than happy to still help out if you have questions about your book—like advice and such—but if it requires me to read more of the book than I've already read, I'm not going to comply. This isn't because I'm trying to be mean or hated your book. A reason I may not continue on is because I have a preference of what books I like to read in my limited free time. If an incomplete, reviewed book is something I wouldn't pick up, I won't continue, even if I think it's a great story. If you decide this is unreasonable and decide to nag me about it, future requests will be banned from this book.
Also, in regards to genre, I only review Pokéfics. If it's something else, I can't guarantee I'll accept it, especially if it's horror or contains mature content such as a ton of gory content or things that should be kept behind closed doors. Promo is opened to almost anything (as I still have the right to turn down any requests. This doesn't happen often, but just a fair warning).
Fifth Rule: Everything has to be written in English. I don't mind if there's a phrase or something that's in another language as long as it's not a majority of the book written in that other language. Unfortunately, I don't speak another language, nor do I have the time right now to learn if I'm going to review/promote books. If there are too many misspellings that the story starts to look like text lingo, I will also not accept the request as I don't like deciphering what the words are.
And finally, Payment: I know some critics will ask for a follow, a read of their own books, and whatnot. While that is nice (and I won't complain if you do decide to do that) I DON'T require for you to do that. ALL I ASK is that you comment and/or vote on your review or promo once it's up so that I know you've seen it, OR if you're doing a private review, I ask that you message back to indicate you've read it. People have done this in the past, and it's just really nice to know that they've seen the review. I don't mind explaining bits and pieces of the review in further detail. Failure to fulfill payment will result in no future promos/reviews.
Also, keep in mind, this is ONE person's opinion on the story. You may give me a story that I think may need great improvement, but another critic may think is perfect, or vis versa. I am also human and tend to make mistakes. If you find something in the review that you think I might've misinterpreted, please kindly point it out, and we can either discuss it further (so I can understand both sides) and I may fix it.
While some things may seem harsh, I promise, outside of my rules, I'm a very kind person and don't bite. After you fill out the corresponding form on the following pages of what you like, things will be very easy for you.
If you would like a private review, a public review, or a promo, please fill out the form on the corresponding chapter (for example, if you want a public review, turn to the next chapter titled "Public Review Form" and fill out the form found there). Each form will have more details on the particular review or promo, so please, turn to the chapter that you'd like to have done to your book, and I'll see what I can do!
