Chapter 2 - 'Life, Death And Rebirth'

[Before we get into the chapter, a few things I want to bring up. Firstly...A MASSIVE THANK YOU! Last chapter got 1.38k reads, 271 votes, and over a hundred comments in a single 24 hour timespan. That's incredible. Truly a result I wasn't expecting, but found myself smiling from ear to ear after seeing it. So, thank you all for that. I really do hope you all liked it, and continue to like this book. However...There are some things I want to clarify...

1.) A few people complained about the reader not being a 'chad' or 'powerful'. Which, I get, we like characters that are better than ourselves in someways and whatever. However, people saying that is a disappointing aspect of the story isn't really fair. Mainly because...It's the first chapter...there are things like character development, etc. I don't know how many times I've said how I see stories as actual stories and not fanfics, so I like being serious with them. So seeing people clammer the reader for being normal...It's something that's a tad annoying because, it's like, you want me to rush things without giving a proper story. I'm trying to make it the best for you guys!

2.) A few people again, stated the first chapter was slow and the flow felt off. Well...Not really much I can do about that as I'm going off the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Manga. Even so, I will try to make it as good as I can with each chapter that comes your way.

But besides those few things, the first chapter did incredible. And just like I promised, another 15k word chapter only four days after. So here it is everyone, a new chapter. I hope you like it as much, or even more then the first, and hopefully for those bringing up questions about the readers credentials can get a somewhat understand of what's in store for them. Because this is where the book really gets into second gear!]

[3rd Person POV]

A dark room within the halls of Jujutsu High, Gojo, decked in normal attire with some glasses, could be seen standing before unknown figures that lurked in the shadow. All the while, they spoke of the events that took place at the elementary school which happened just three months ago...

"It seems that the boy does have cursed energy after all."

"And quite the debut, if you ask us."

"...But this is not a good thing Gojo."

"We allowed (L/n) to come to this school because we thought he was of little cursed energy."

"But this clearly shows our greatest fears are true. So what will you do about this, Satoru Gojo?"

A charismatic smile, as always, found Gojo's lips as he spoke out to the unidentified figures.

Gojo: "Whilst I share your surprise in seeing Babu--I mean, (Y/n)'s sudden action. I assure you, just because he was able to pull off such a feat. We can't just jump the gun here! He's not a normal kid after all!"

"Exactly. That is what we are referring to."

Gojo: "Uh, actually, I was kinda talking about because he's related to me!"

Gojo started scratching the back of his head as he said that. The voices from the shadows were silent momentarily before one of them, an old man, spoke out rather loudly.

Old Man: "Stop your nonsense! Had (Y/n)'s full potential been released, an entire town could have been destroyed!"

Gojo: [Smiles] "I would have risked my life to make sure that wouldn't have happened. But there's one thing I can say for sure... When it comes to (Y/n)'s true potential. All we know is that his Mom has been doing the best she could to keep him safe ever since he was a little boy. She didn't want him a part of this. But it's you lot who seem to think there's some use for him."

Old Man: "Are you blaming us, Gojo?"

Gojo: "...Of course not!"

He definitely was.

Gojo: "Look...You can't control what you don't understand. But (Y/n) being here, where he now has friends and feels welcomed, will be the best for him. And I'll do my best to teach him to use his cursed energy without causing anything to spill out into the rest of the world."

"You best hope that you can do that, Gojo. Otherwise, we'll have no choice but to go forward with the boys execution."

Gojo: "Very well. But just remember, if that does happen...I'll be on (Y/n)'s side."

It was with that, that Gojo finally turned around and exited the dark room. Not long after, he was back in the light of the open world. Removing his glasses Gojo made a mental note to never become like those people he was just in the presence of. A simple flashback to (Y/n) helping Maki exit the school was all it took to remind the man with white hair just how much potential (Y/n) truly had. Cursed or true, whatever it was, Gojo was sure to help him. And he didn't seem to be alone. For as Gojo finally returned to the courtyard of the little school a few minutes later, he was greeted by the sight of (Y/n) in the process of training with Maki. Whilst Unimaki and Panda watched from the side.

[Your POV]

Tokyo's perfectual Jujutsu High. A place to learn about curses in order to exorcise them. It was a school for Jujutsu Sorcerers, and apparently, going off what I saw in front of me...My death as well. The sight of Maki, a serious look on her face as ever before, whilst wielding a bamboo staff was not something to look forward to. Meanwhile, I had a sword. Which, to be fair, beats bamboo nine out of ten times, however, I only just got this sword and...Maki is scary. Thankfully, I seemed to catch a break from the beatdown when Gojo's voice suddenly filled the air.

Gojo: "Hey, hey, everyone!"

(Y/n): "Oh, um...Alri--"

Maki: "(Y/n)! Pay attention!"

(Y/n): "Ah! Yes, ma'am!"

...Or not. Immediately my body went stiff as I turned back to Maki. Her glare was even more narrowed than I had ever seen before.

Maki: "Stop looking at the idiot and get ready to train!"

(Y/n): "Yes, ma'am..." [Thoughts] "...Why does she have to be so strict?"

Maki: "You're score a hit on me this time, right?"

(Y/n): "YES, MA'AM!"

Immediately my body regained movement, allowing me to take a battle stance with my katana in hand. All before the sound of laughter caught my attention.

Heh~ Heh~ Heh~

Turning in the direction I saw it was coming from Panda. Who was watching my beatdown from the front row with Unimaki. At first, I thought he was laughing at me. Then he made a comment that only confused me.

Panda: "What do you want (Y/n) to do to you, Maki? Did you say...Hit on you?"

Maki: "I SAID SCORE A HIT ON ME, YOU BASTARD PANDA!"

Panda: [Jumps to his feet] "HEY!...That wasn't called for."

Maki: [Sighs] "Fine...Sorry! Sorry! Argh!" [Turns to you] "(Y/n), you ready to fight or what?"

(Y/n): "I think so?"

Maki: [Glares] "You think so?"

(Y/n): "I-I mean, I am! I'm ready to fight...Ma'am?"

Maki didn't respond this time, so I didn't know whether or not that was good. Even so, I returned to my fighting stance as I awaited for Maki to attack. I may have not had this katana for long. But I've been training with it nonstop. In fact, it was Maki's idea. Which I was more than happy to take. It seemed in the matter of just over a few months, I managed to get pretty close with the trio of first years. Which, was surprising. I mean, Maki seemed to hate talking normally to me, and loved yelling at me. Panda was a panda.

And Inumaki, well...Me and him haven't really had a moment together yet. But still! It was better than nothing! Now, to answer a question you're probably asking...Why do I have a sword? Well, besides the fact that swords are cool. I was given the Katana by Gojo, who said it'd help channel my curse energy in battle. And after everything that happened with the curse at the school, I'll take whatever I can. I even kept the bandages Gojo gave me. Apparently, they were actually cursed tools after all.

So, Gojo lied about them being normal after I thought he lied about saying they were cursed tools. But apparently, they are. He said with cursed energy I could control the bandages to spread further around my body. Giving me an armour of some sort that'd help me against curses. However, so far I've only been able to get the bandages to expand up to my shoulders. But right now, I was focused on my katana training, where I'd be forced to keep my life going as I faced off against Maki with a bamboo staff.

Maki: "Alright? Ready?"

(Y/n): "You know i--"

Maki: "Go!"

(Y/n): "H-Huh?"

Before I knew it Maki launched off her feet and zoomed towards me, the intent to get as many hits on me as was clear by the look in her eyes. As for me, I just tried my best to remember some lightsaber skills I had with sticks as a kid. But my time pretending to be a Jedi when I was younger seemed to be useless as Maki effortlessly ducked and weaved around my strikes with the Katana. I was able to block a few of her attacks, which was an improvement. I went to slice at her, but she dodged by jumping and flipping through the air.

My intention was to strike her once her feet landed. But before my hands could even move my sword to cut through the air, Maki dropped to the ground, rolled along on her side and used her foot to kick out the katana from my hand. Seconds after, one of her hands came from behind, grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me to the ground. The next thing I knew I was lying on the ground as the edge of Maki's bamboo staff faced me. Though, of course, the clear sign that she won didn't exactly stop her from bonking me atop my head.

BONK!

Maki: "AAAnd you're dead." [Smiles] "I win again."

(Y/n): "W-What was that last hit for...?"

Maki: "So you don't get complacent. You've gotta act like this is a real fight. We improve more quickly when we have consequences to fight for."

(Y/n): "Oh...I think I get it."

Maki: "Don't worry. If you work hard, you'll get there."

It was as Maki said that, that I looked up at her to see a smile on her lips. Honestly...I don't think I've ever seen a smile like that from her before. It was strange...B-But also nice. Anywho, whether it was nice or not didn't matter right now. I was quick to snap the thoughts from my mind, jump to my feet and got ready for the next round.

(Y/n): "One more time...Please!"

Maki: [Grins] "That's more like it."

And so with that, Maki and I returned to our practice. Meanwhile, Gojo came to a stop by Panda and Unimaki. Little did I know the consequences of this conversation that would take place later on.

Panda: "It's been three months since (Y/n) joined us. He's movin' a lot better."

Inumaki: "Salmon."

Gojo: "He's more positive too! I haven't seen him smile like this in a while."

Okay, what Gojo thought was smiling was actually me fearing for my life because Maki said if I didn't hit her soon enough she'd make sure I wouldn't be able to carry my name for further generations. I didn't exactly know what that meant, but still...I guess it was nice Gojo even thought of it like that.

Inumaki: "Salted fish roe."

Panda: "You're right. Maki looks happy too...Maybe it's because there used to be no other cursed weapon user. It's either that or--EURIKA!"

An explosion of fireworks immediately went off in Panda's mind as a sudden realization reached him. Causing Gojo and Inumaki to turn towards him suddenly.

Gojo: "What's the matter?"

Panda: "I just realized something I once thought was impossible. I need to--(Y/N)! GET OVER HERE!" [Whispers] "C'mon. Quickly!"

And so I rushed over to Panda. I didn't know why, but I did anyway. Honestly, the break from Maki trying to hit me was appreciated. Little did I know what he wanted to talk about.

(Y/n): "Yeah, Panda?"

Panda: "LISTEN UP! IT'S SOMETHING IMPORTANT! SUPER IMPORTANT EVEN!....Do you like big boobs? Or smaller ones?"

(Y/n): "Uh...Why you ask?"

Panda: "Isn't obvious? We are boys. That is what we talk about?"

(Y/n): "Uh...But you're a panda?"

Panda: "THE DESCRIMINATION NEVER ENDS!!!"

I don't know why, but...Seeing Panda so serious about the question made me think seriously about it. To the point, I rested my chin on the bottom handle of my sword and began repeatedly tapping it with my chin as Panda gathered behind me.

(Y/n): "Hmm...Huh...I don't know. Maybe medium-sized ones?"

Panda: "Gotcha." [Suddenly turns around] "HEY, MAKI!"

Maki: "Yeah?

In the centre of the courtyard, Maki could be seen getting a drink of water before her gaze is drawn toward Panda.

Panda: "Heh~ Heh~ Heh~ Things are looking good~"

It was as he said that, that he made a circle shape with his arms over his head. I honestly didn't exactly know what that meant, but Maki didn't seem to like it. As she immediately began chasing Panda around with her actual weapon, not the bamboo staff.

Maki: "WHAT ARE YOU GOING ON ABOUT?! I'LL KILL YOU!"

Panda: "Don't be embarrassed, what are ya, a kid?!"

Maki: "YOU'RE DEAD MEAT! THE WILDLIFE FUND AIN'T GONNA SAVE YOU HERE!!!"

Panda: "AAHH!! (Y/N)! UNIMAKI! SAVE ME!!"

...But we didn't save Panda. Unimaki and I were too afraid of Maki to do such a thing. Instead, we simply watched as the already endangered animal was hunted to extinction.

(Y/n): "Haha. I wonder what they're talking about." [Smiles] "Whatever it is, it's definitely getting Maki fired up." [Turns to Inumaki] "What do you think it is?"

Inumaki: "...Kelp."

Yeah, I was a pretty dense kid back then. Even so, it didn't take much for my focus to turn from the scene before me to Inumaki himself. I've been at Jujutsu High for three months now and I still don't really understand what he was saying. And honestly, it kinda me scared of him a little. I mean, besides the fact he talked in rice ball ingredients, he always seemed to have his gaze lingered on me like he was looking down at me. Literally, I mean. I was taller than him, but still...

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Gojo: "Alright, children, gather around!" [To Panda and Maki] "You two keep play fighting."

Panda: "Maki! Relax! It's cool! (Y/n) said he likes them!"

Maki: "I WILL TURN YOU INTO A RUG, PANDA, I SWEAR, IF YOU DON'T STOP TALKING!"

Gojo: "Hehe...Kids..." [Turns to you] "Anyway, Babu, Inumaki, I've got a mission for you both."

(Y/n): "F-For us? Like...Together?"

Gojo: "You bet!" [To Inumaki] "A curse has been specifically assigned to you, Inumaki, because...You're the best suited for this. Take care of it."

Inumaki: "Salmon."

(Y/n): "And what about me?"

Gojo: "And you, Babu, will go with him. You're still new. Normally, Inumaki would go alone. But I think today is the best time to see how you'll go with what you've learned over the last three months."

(Y/n): "Oh...Okay." [Turns to Inumaki and smiles] "Wow, Toge, pretty cool you get to go on missions alone."

Inumaki: "Salmon."

Gojo: "Excellent! Well, I'll get Ijichi to meet you around the front with the car in an hour. Best of luck to you both!"

And so with that, Gojo turned around and walked away. And if I'm being honest, I'm a little surprised he ended it there. I mean, normally he'd say something to me that'd normally have me questioning my whole purpose in going on a mission or not. But maybe I really have improved over time to the point Gojo finally sees me as someone who can handle myself--

Gojo: "...Oh! And try not to die, Babu."

(Y/n): [Sighs] "...Yeah, that's what I thought."

And so my head remained low in dismay, that was until out of nowhere I felt a heavy pat on my back. By no surprise, it was Panda, who, upon turning around to greet, I noticed he had a plethora of noticeable bumps on his head. Shocking me instantly.

(Y/n): "Panda! What happened to you?!"

Panda: "Maki happened..."

Upon glancing over at the aforementioned female, I saw her arms were crossed over her chest and her gaze narrowed in on Panda.

Maki: [Mutters] "Stupid, Panda..."

(Y/n): "Oh..."

Panda: "Anywho, forget about that. Congrats, (Y/n). You get to go on a mission with Unimaki. Normally he goes by himself, so it'll be a fun change, right?"

Unimaki: "Salmon."

(Y/n): "Uh, yeah...Hey, why is Unimaki able to go on missions by himself?"

I would have asked Unimaki himself, but due to the whole language barrier, it fell onto Panda to do the explaining.

Panda: "Oh, that's easy. Unimaki is the lone grade 2 amongst the first-years."

(Y/n): "Oh, so that's why he normally gets solo missions. Cool..."

Maki: "Yeah, well, just be lucky that you're going with him. If you were going by yourself, you'd definitely be screwed."

(Y/n): "Uh...Okay?"

...I mean, I guessed as much. But she really didn't need to remind me. I think my face must have made it known that I wasn't exactly full of confidence already, as with a single glance in my general direction, Maki immediately dropped her stern expression. Realizing she made a mistake.

Maki: "But...You're improving so...You've got that going for you."

(Y/n): "Huh? You really think so?"

Maki: "...Well, duh! I said it, didn't I?"

(Y/n): "Uh, r-right." [Nervously chuckles] "S-Sorry..."

It was as I hide my face out of nerves that Maki also turned her head, hiding the unsuspecting blush that had crept on her face. But whereas me then didn't notice it. There seemed to be some subtle hinting by Panda, who currently stood beside Unimaki. The pair watching as Maki and I avoided eye contact.

Panda: [Whispers] "(Y/n) and Maki sitting in a tree! K-I--"

"FINISH THAT DAMN SENTENCE AND YOU'RE DEAD!"

"AAAHHH!!! (Y/N)! TOGE! HELP ME!"

...Yeah, the days around here seemed to repeat quite often.

--Ten Minutes Later--

Once the fight was over, the group of myself and the others headed back inside the school building itself. Maki said something about taking Panda to the nurse's office to get patched up, whilst Unimaki went to get some cough medicine to help with his cursed technique. As for me...I didn't really have much to do. So, I did what I always did when stuck in Jujutsu High with nothing to do. I lied on my bed in the student lodging building and listened to music. It wasn't exactly a great pass time. but it did the job, and it allowed me to just relax. Sometimes...A little too much...

"Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure."

The voice of my mother echoed through my mind suddenly. Immediately I snapped my eyes open. But I no longer found myself in the welcoming halls of Jujutsu High. Instead, glow-in-the-dark stickers in the shape of stars greeted me. The familiar sighting was all that foretold my current location, before I dropped my gaze to come in contact with the purple eyes of my mother.

Sakura Gojo, a proud member of the Gojo clan and a brilliant sorcerer in her own right. But to me, she was my living mother. It had been a long time since I was greeted with the sight of her face. Three months to be exact. But still...Yet, in this dream-like state, where I found my consciousness in the body of my six-year-old self, I was given a proper chance to see her after being unable to since I moved to Tokyo.

Sakura: "Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure..."

(Y/n): "Mom...Why do you always say that before I go to bed?"

Sakura: "Why?" [Giggles] "Because I love you, of course, my little one. And I want to protect you from anything that would ever choose to hurt you."

Such comforting words were brought along with a gentle kiss to my forehead. Even so, I found myself unsatisfied from her reasoning. There was just something about it that didn't sit right. Even so, I was left silent as I watched my Mother stand up from the side of my bed and go to leave my room. However before she exited through the door, she came to a stop. With her hand resting on the doorframe, she turned to look over her shoulder and smiled at me. A loving look that told me how much she cared for me. Her following words only pushed that meaning further forward.

Sakura: "Remember, (Y/n). You are a strong and capable person. But you are also kind and caring. People may try to take that part from you one day. But I want you to almost remember...that true people who care about you, won't seek you for the power you have, but the love you have inside of you..."

You know, now that I really think back on it, my Mom was always constant with the riddles. Maybe that was why my cursed energy wasn't as strong as everyone else's. I wasn't give the right answers or something. Either way, whatever Mom did mean by that, I knew it was for good. So I kept to those words and always tried to be kind to whoever I could be. Even so...There was still that feeling inside of me, like a fish hook stuck on something in the water. I couldn't see what it was, and no matter how hard I tried to free it, I just couldn't. So, I was left to accept it.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

(Y/n): "H-Huh?"

Immediately my eyes snapped opened as the sound of loud knocking rampaged over the sound of the music playing through my headphones. My shock was only boosted when my eyes opened to see Maki was standing at my doorway with her arms crossed and what appeared to be a note in hand. But I paid very little attention to that as I struggled to sit up on my bed and let my headphones rest around my neck.

(Y/n): "M-Maki! Hey! I, uh, I-I didn't hear you, sorry..."

Maki: "Yeah, well, what do you expect when you're wearing them?"

(Y/n): [Chuckles slightly] "I-I guess you're right...I think I'm just a little nervous about my mission with Inumaki is all. Music kinda helps me calm down is all."

Maki: "Oh..."

She states, whilst clearly leaving clarification that she was going to continue. However, she didn't do so right away. Instead, she remained silent as she entered my room. As she did, her eyes scoured the surrounding area, as if trying to find a spot to land, as she approached my bed. It wasn't until she reached it and sat at the edge of it did she finally turned to look at me. Her hazel-coloured eyes pierced through the clear pieces of her glasses.

Maki: "So why are you nervous? You've gone on missions before."

Honestly, I had a little trouble hearing her question at first. I was more so thrown off by the fact she just entered my room and sat down on my bed. Now my mind was going into overdrive for no reason. Thankfully, I managed to gather myself enough that I could sit up and

(Y/n): "Uh...Y-Yeah, I know. It's just...I've never gone on a mission with Inumaki before and..." [Scrathes back of head] "...I kinda think he doesn't like me."

Maki: "Doesn't like you? What gave you that idea?"

(Y/n): "I-I don't know. I guess, he just stares at me sometimes. And I feel like he thinks I'm weird or something."

Another nervous chuckle followed my words as I looked down at the floor and waited for Maki's response.

Maki: "Well, you are weird..."

(Y/n): [Suddenly turns to her] "Say what now? I'm weird?"

At that moment...I gave up on my life.

Maki: "Yeah, well, I mean, you always talk about movies with Panda. You goof around in class. You have...toys in your room..."

As she said that, she aimlessly waved her hand to a shelf on the opposite side of the room that showcased a few lego sets I bought. As well as some figurines from a few mangas I liked. Yeah... As soon as I heard that, I started questioning whether putting them up was the right thing to do.

Maki: "But...That's no reason to hate you. Those things are what make you, you."

(Y/n): "Y-Yeah?"

Maki: "And besides, Inumaki isn't the type of person to dislike someone on their interests." [Turns to you and grins] "That's something I'd do."

Normally, I feel shame from hearing that. But the smirk alone was enough for me to know that she was joking. Or, at least to the point that I thought as much so my feelings weren't hurt. Either way, in the end, we just sat there and smiled at one another. Honestly...I never realized how pretty a smile Maki had. Especially for a girl who took no crap from anyone. There seemed to be a different side to her. Which, I had seen a few times, but not exactly to its full capacity. Made me wonder when that side her was going to show up...show up...CRAP!

(Y/n): "Maki! I'm sorry! You came here and I changed the topic! I-I didn't mean to!"

Maki: "H-Huh? Oh, right! Um...Yeah...Here. Take this."

Before I could make a noise, I was gifted the note that Maki had previously been holding. The shocked expression I once had now dropped, allowing a raised eyebrow to take the front.

Maki: "It's just, um, a...N-Nevermind what it is! Just open it when you--NOT NOW, IDIOT!"

(Y/n): "Huh?"

My dumbfounded expression was quick to come on display as I was halfway opening the note. However, Maki was quick to stop me by sending a slap to the back of my head. Now I sat on my bed rubbing the back of my head where she slapped me whilst she stood up.

Maki: "Just...O-Open it when you get back from your mission, okay? You don't need anything taking your concentration away."

(Y/n): "Oh, um...Okay?"

Honestly, that just made me confused more, and even more eager to open the note now. However, I held myself back when I saw how Maki really didn't want me to open it right now. So, I simply placed the note next to me on my bed and looked up at her with a smile.

(Y/n): "Alright. I won't open it until I get back."

Maki: "Alright..." [Sighs] "Cool. Cool...A-Anyway, I'll, um...I'll let you get back to listening to your music or whatever. Uh...Good luck with your mission."

(Y/n): "Yeah, uh...Thanks..."

With the release of the final word, Maki offered me another short smile before turning around and quickly exiting the room with her head held forward. As for me, I was left just staring at the open space where she once was before turning to the letter placed next to me. And I continued to look at that very letter as I found myself a short while later standing out the front of Jujutsu High waiting for Inumaki to show up. I know I should have been thinking about the mission, but I just couldn't get my mind of the letter in hand, sealed by a simple envelope.

(Y/n): "Huh...I wonder what's inside?"

"Salmon roe?"

(Y/n): "Hu--AAHH!!"

My body was suddenly jolted forward when I turned around to see Inumaki standing no more than a few meters away from me with his hand raised. Without thought I shoved the letter into my uniform and brought my hands up to defend myself. However, all it took was a few seconds to realize Inumaki had his hand up as a greeting, and now he was just staring at me.

Inumaki: "...Salmon roe?"

(Y/n): "Ur, I-Inumaki? Hey, I, um...Sorry...I guess you just caught me off guard."

And I totally didn't think you were just trying to kill me. Thankfully, if Inumaki did plan to kill me, it'd be a little more difficult now as Gojo came to offer us a goodbye before we left.

Gojo: "There you guys are. Wow! Here before me even. You must be rearing to go, huh?"

Inumaki: "Salmon."

(Y/n): "Not rea--Mmgh?"

Before I could finish my sentence, out if nowhere my face was silenced by Hojo stretching out his hand and placing it flat on my face. Making it impossible for me to talk.

(Y/n): "Mmgh? Mrgh? Ghroh?"

Gojo: "Silence, Babu. You'll do fine..." [Slaps your shoulder] "Remember, you're a Gojo! You got this! You've got that fire inside! You defeated that Curse at the school, remember?"

(Y/n): "Well, yeah, but that was--"

Gojo: "Awesome for you, I know. Man!" [Slaps your shoulder again] "Just wait until you can do awesome shit like me! Then you'll totally get with the girls...Unless you have gotten with them already?"

(Y/n): "H-Huh?"

Gojo simply grinned before glancing toward Inumaki. When the silent boy just stared back, Gojo, out of nowhere, wrapped his arm around my shoulder and suddenly pulled me close.

Gojo: "Don't play dumb with me, (Y/n), I know Maki gave you that little note~"

(Y/n): "Note? But why wou--Hery, wait a minute! How do you know I got a note from Maki?"

Gojo: "Panda told me."

(Y/n): "Pan--Panda?! How the hell did Panda know about that?"

Gojo: [Nudges shoulders] "I don't know? That's just what Panda told me." [Suddenly leans closer] "The point is, Maki gave you that note, right?"

(Y/n): "Uh...Yeah?"

Honestly, I didn't exactly know whether it was a good thing or not that I told Gojo about that. Especially the way he was currently smiling at me. The feeling got worse when he started laughing, all before sighing and shaking his head. His arm remained wrapped around my shoulder.

Gojo: "Oh, you poor, innocent, Babu...You don't know what that letter is, do you?"

(Y/n): "I-It's a letter from Maki, so...I just presumed it was insults telling me to get better or something."

Gojo: "Babu! Baby!" [Hugs your head] "You really are lacking in this department, huh?"

(Y/n): "Department? Gojo, what are you talking about?!"

Gojo: [Sighs] "I'm talking about how the letter Maki gave to you isn't just some normal letter...It's a love letter~"

A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A...A l-l-l-l-l-l-l...A love l-letter? A love letter? A letter...of love? A love letter...from Maki? Maki...From school? My school...?

(Y/n): "Yeah, there's no way."

Gojo: "Huh?"

(Y/n): "It's not a love letter."

I repeated. A gentle smile finding my lips as I released myself from Gojo and headed toward the car, which Ijichi and Inumaki now leaned against. As I did so, Gojo proceeded to lean on one foot and bring his hand up to his mouth as he called out to me.

Gojo: "What do you mean it's not a love letter? It totally is. Girls don't just hand those things out. I mean...They do to me." [Chuckles] "Honestly, it reminds me of a time in 2006. I was at this school church where this choir was and this teacher totally--" [Shakes head] "That's not the point, the point is, that letter is totally a love letter. She's asking you out!"

Again, my expression was nothing but slightly narrowed eyes before I abruptly laughed and shook my head about.

(Y/n): "Sure. Gojo. Think what you want. But this isn't a love letter. Maki...I...I wouldn't get one of those."

Gojo: "Huh? Why not?"

His body suddenly spawned at my side, as it did, Gojo slowly proceeded to lean his head atop my own as I spoke.

(Y/n): "I-I don't know...I just...I don't normally get the attention of girls is all. I mean, I've liked a few. But they didn't like me, so..."

Gojo: "Well, hey, now, pumpkin. Don't be sellin' yourself short...YOU'RE RELATED TO ME, AFTER ALL!"

(Y/n): "...But Maki hates you."

Gojo: "Oh..." [Mutters] "Crap. I didn't think of that..." [Slaps your arm again] "Oh, well, whatever that letter is, Babu. I'm sure it's good. Now, go out there and exorcise a curse. Then, once you get back, you can finally open that letter."

(Y/n): [Sighs] "Yeah, I guess you're--Wait. How'd you know I hadn't opened it yet?"

Gojo: "Panda told me."

(Y/n): "HOW THE HELL DOES PANDA KNOW THAT TOO?!"

I did not receive an answer this time around. Instead, Gojo simply smiled and nudged his shoulders. The next thing I knew, I was in the back of Ijichi's car with Inumaki. Complete silence filled the vehicle as we awaited to arrive at the location where the curse was located. However, despite my mind really needing to be focused on the mission, I just couldn't get it taken off what Gojo said about the letter Maki gave me.

"...It's a love letter~"

His words still felt so present, it was like he was in the car with us. At last, he wasn't. Which meant I really had no one to ask about this situation. Well, there was Ijichi and Inumaki. However, there was a language barrier with Inumaki, and Ijichi, well...He didn't exactly seem like a lady's man. Even so, I didn't really need them to have opinions about what's going on with this current situation. And, honestly, as much as I want it to be untrue, the fact that this letter is very much likely to be a love letter...was rather undeniable.

I mean, putting it all together it'd make sense being the only outcome. Maki showed up when it was just the two of us. She got nervous earlier when Panda was making fun of us. And she was clearly nervous to give it to me. Now, I may not have had many friends when I was younger, but I've seen enough movies to know what a confession looks like. Though, that probably leaves a few of you wondering, if I knew it was a love letter, why did I say earlier that it wasn't? Well, there's a simple explanation for that...I don't want it to be.

Now, when I say that, don't get the wrong idea, Maki is a pretty girl. A very pretty girl! And a guy like me would be lucky to get with someone who was so pretty, and seemingly so cold to everyone she knows. However, the factor that was leaving me hoping that it wasn't a love letter was really...I don't feel like I deserve her, and she doesn't deserve me. I mean, all my life I've been a bit of an outcast. I never really had friends. So I was alone for most of the time. So getting asked out by a girl never happened, and I never thought it'd happen.

But now that it seemed like it was, well, I grew scared. And not just for the fact I didn't know what to say in something like this. But scared that I'd say yes to it and end up making myself look like an idiot in front of her. I was finally finding my footing in this school after falling out at Kyoto. So what would happen if I went on a date with Maki and screwed it up? Like, big time? I'm already fluking it as a sorcerer. Sure, I had that win at the school. But I haven't been able to do something like that ever again. Hence the cursed tool I've been using.

I don't know, it may sound stupid, but in all honesty, I'm scared. I've been so alone for so long that now that I finally have friends, I don't want to risk it in any way. But still...I can't deny the sting of happiness I felt when Maki first handed me the letter. I couldn't believe it at first, yet, my consciousness was telling me it really was a love letter. Either that, or Maki was really nervous about handing out insults to people. Highly unlikely, so the love letter choice was the only option. But, hey! Maybe it's not a confession. Maybe it's just a funny story she was dared to tell me? Yeah...I'm sure it's something like that.

"Mustard leaf?"

(Y/n): "Huh?"

Immediately being brought back to reality, I turned to Inumaki to see him looking at me. I didn't know exactly what he meant at first, but when I saw that the car had stopped I realized we must have arrived at the cursed area. Upon stepping out of the car without another word I saw we were at the Hapina Shopping District. It was an old shopping mall in Tokyo that hadn't been fully operational for a few months now. So I guess it wasn't really a surprise that a curse lurked here.

(Y/n): "A shopping district?"

Inumaki: "Salmon."

Ijichi: "At this time, most of the shutters here are closed. There's a project to demolish the entire area and attract a shopping mall. During the inspection of the area we confirmed a pack of low-level curses, we'd like the grade 2 Sorcerer, Unimaki, to exorcise them--Huh? Wait, where's sorcerer Inumaki?"

(Y/n): "Huh? He was just--"

My words were abruptly cut off when both Ijichi and myself turned around to witness Inumaki walking into a nearby store set up next to the shopping district.

(Y/n): "What's he going to do? Shop now?"

Ijichi: "Why am I not surprised? You kids really do have trouble listening."

(Y/n): [Smiles] "Oh, come on, Ijichi. We're not all like that."

The older man could only shake his head and laugh, before going to fix up his glasses.

Ijichi: "I suppose you are correct." [Sighs] "...So, what about you, (Y/n)? How are you finding Jujustu High?"

(Y/n): "It's...Interesting."

I mean, I've been beaten over the head. Shoved in the ribs. Almost got eaten by a few curses. Almost got kissed by one. So, depending on who you asked, it was at least interesting.

Ijichi: "That so...Oh, and I see you have a few cursed tools as well. Very nice."

(Y/n): "Haha. Yeah...Gojo gave me the katana to help me with my cursed energy, apparently, these bandages can do some pretty cool stuff as well. I also have--Oh! Crap! I almost forgot!"

Ijichi: "Huh?"

My response didn't come to Ijichi straight away, as when he finally turned to me, I was already at the boot of his car. Upon opening the extra compartment I appeared a few seconds later with a compact bow and a quiver filled with arrows. It was safe to say Ijichi was not expecting those.

Ijichi: "Bow and arrows?"

(Y/n): "Yeah...Gojo said they'd help me with patience or something. Though, if you ask me, if anyone needs to learn patience its--"

Before I could finish speaking, the sound of a store buzzer and a voice sounding from within it echoed in the air.

"Thank you! Come again!"

Both Ijichi and I turned around in union, as we did, we were greeted by the sight of Inumaki exiting the store next to the shopping district. A small paper bag could be seen hanging from his left hand.

(Y/n): "What did you buy?"

Without a word, Inumaki reached into his bag and retrieved a throat remedy bottle.

(Y/n): "Throat medicine?"

Inumaki: "Tuna mayo?"

I was about to ask what he was talking about when I noticed him pointing to the bow and quiver I currently held.

(Y/n): "Oh, yeah, I've got more cursed tools."

Inumaki: [Nods] "Salmon roe."

Ijichi: "I hate to interrupt, but we really must get moving..." [Sighs] "Now then...In short, it would cause all sorts of issues down the road if the building they spent so much money on developed a bad history, so they want us to exorcise the curse now."

Inumaki: "Salmon."

Ijichi: "Very well, if you two want to begin entering the cursed area, I'll begin with the veil."

Great...Another shadow of darkness over my life. Oh, well. Once you have one, they're all pretty much the same.

Ijichi: "Good luck..."

Within the blink of an eye, one moment Inumaki and myself were out and about in the bright world, the next we were surrounded by dark and mouldy walls of the Hapina Shopping district. It was made even more bleak by the dark veil that surrounded it. Honestly, the scene seemed straight out of a horror movie. The green lighting due in part to the veil, and the green tinted glass that made up the roof of this particular area of the shopping centre. And the extended entryway that ventured for a good 100 meters or so. Even with such little room, however, no sign of the curse could be seen.

(Y/n): "He said it was a pack of low-level curses..."

Inumaki: "Pollock roe."

The only response before we moved forward. A good minute passed as we ventured down the entryway. Our eyes on high alert as we looked down every alleyway and crevice for any sign of such curses. Though, the fact that they were low-level meant that they'd be sticking together. The only thing is, if they were, how were they hiding so well?

I was beginning to question if there were even curses here in the first place when suddenly my head turned as the sound of bubbles echoed down one of the tiny alleyways. Inumaki seemed to pick up as well. But upon looking down there, all we could see was an overflowing trash can with garbage bags hanging about the side. We were just about to move on when suddenly a voice entered the air.

"That's not fair, Mama."

(Y/n): "Huh?"

"Big brother got more."

Within seconds my body contorted to the side to lay witness to a fish, with a sharp, extended nose, hovering through the air. At first, I questioned why it was speaking like a little boy. It didn't take much longer to realize this was one of the curses we were looking for. And it was soon joined by plenty more.

"So what? Let's trade doubles?"

"I smell olives."

"I want to eat sushi."

"Reporting a lot child."

"Cheap stuff. Cheap stuff."

I couldn't help but watch in complete wonder as the countless curses shaped like fish flew through the air before coming to meet in the largest portion of the shopping district, there they seemed to swarm together, like a school of fish.

(Y/n): "T-There's just so many of them!"

Honestly, it was a sight that felt directly out of a dream. I was pulled from my thoughts suddenly, however, upon remembering that our job was to exorcise them, and not simply watch the show.

(Y/n): "I, uh...I guess we better get to work, huh?"

Thankfully for me, these guys didn't seem to be putting up much of a fight, so with that added confidence, I retrieved a cursed arrow from the quiver placed over my back and slowly set it into the bow. I was in the process of aiming up my weapon with one of the many curses when suddenly it was blocked off by Inumaki's hand. Immediately I pulled my weapon down to see his focus still directly on the curses. He didn't even look at me as he pulled down his scarf from covering his mouth.

Doing so revealed strange markings around it, and began walking toward the gathered group of curses. I didn't know what was going to happen. I had never witnessed Inumaki using his cursed technique before. But all I could do was simply watch in silence as Inumaki continued to walk a few meters, all before coming to a stop and looking up at the group of curses. I didn't know what to expect. So I didn't know how to anticipate for what was about to go down. In the end, there was nothing I could really do...

Inumaki: "...Explode."

The word was just that...a word. Yet, it carried far more weight than any I had ever said before. I was left to witness in complete awe, as Inumaki spoke the word, and it became reality. It seemed from my position like a powerful gust of sound launched from his mouth, and once it connected with the ears belonging to the curses, all they could do were listen. In one singular second, the plethora of curses brought together like a school of fish, exploded without a second thought. The explosion was bright and hot, causing me to turn away slightly. But even turning away did little to hide my shocked face.

(Y/n): "This is cursed speech?!"

Such power was incredible. I had never seen something like this before. Yet, it was enough to explain to me why Inumaki was already a grade 2 sorcerer. Honestly, I felt even more intimidated around him now. That was only furthered when he simply turned around, recovered his mouth with his scarf, and went to leave. All the while his paper bag continued to swing back and forth in his hand.

(Y/n): "I-Is it really over? Just like that?"

Inumaki: "Tu...Tuna...Mayo."

It seemed, however, Inumaki's ability had a drawback. His throat was now extremely sore and dry. Not only going off how he spoke, but the sweat that ran down his forehead. Either way, if this moment taught me anything, it was to not piss Inumaki off. Which kinda made me more worried that I had already done something to enforce that. Thankfully, right now, Inumaki seemed like he didn't want to use such powers on me. And I decided to keep it that way by just remaining silent and go to leave this creepy place as fast as possible. Unfortunately...That seemed like it wasn't going to happen right now.

Inumaki: "Bonito flakes."

(Y/n): "The veil? It's still up?"

"Of course, it's still up...I'm keeping it that way."

Well...I guess this is it, the moment my life changed. In a matter of a few seconds Inumaki and out found ourselves frozen in place. It was as if this soothing male voice caused such an outcome. But such thoughts were soon denied when we gathered enough strength to look over our shoulders. It was only then that we were greeted by the sight of a grinning man, one with shoulder-length black hair that dispersed to the sides, wearing an old-fashioned blue robe.

There was so much about him that caught our attention. The fact he seemed to carry an ill presence about him. The way he currently sat atop a metal beam that stretched across the roof, fifty feet of the ground. And, of course, the matter in which we were only seeing him now. All such thoughts played through our minds. But the thing I couldn't get free of my mind, wasn't the strange actions in which came with his sudden appearance. It was more so to do with the way he looked at me. His head tilting to the side as his gaze narrowed in on me.

(???): "Hmm...So you're the runt of the Gojo clan, huh? Honestly, I was expecting you to be taller."

(Y/n): "M-Me?!"

The word burst from my mouth. Immediately, the nerves I was feeling before had now doubled. My concerned gaze shifting from Inumaki back to the man, who, by this point, had dropped off from the metal beam above and landed on the ground, as if dropping fifty meters was nothing. As his feet touched the ground, that same smile he had plastered on his lips earlier could be seen once more. And continued to remain that way as he began walking toward us.

(???): "You know, I'll be honest. When I first heard about you. I was rather surprised. I was expecting a copy of Gojo. But you? You're...More normal?"

(Y/n): "Um...Thanks?"

Inumaki: "Cavier."

(Y/n): "Huh?"

Upon turning to Inumaki, the young boy was quick to take the front. Taking a few steps out in front of me, his glare never once leaving the man that was approaching us. Despite the hostility on his face, the man continued to smile as he glanced toward Inumaki.

(???): "Now, now. That's not very nice. I was simply trying to have a chat with your classmate." [Grins] "Why don't you...Stick around?"

Immediately after saying that, a black hole appeared right between myself and Inumaki. All I could see was the black void, but for Inumaki, who was in the process of removing his scarf from around his mouth, was suddenly blown off guard when a spiral of web fluid launched from the portal. The first shot collided directly with Inumaki's mouth, sealing it shut. The next, this time much larger, tackled Inumaki off the ground and sent him smashing into the wall of the shopping district. There he was left to 'stick around'.

(Y/n): "Inumaki!"

I went to go help him, but was quickly subsided when from the portal came a plethora of long, slender legs. Once more my body froze as I was left to watch in complete shock and horror as a curse, carrying a similar form to a giant spider, stepped out from the portal. My first instinct was to drop my bow and grab my katana. However, all I could do was aim the weapon toward the curse. What was odd about it all was the fact the curse didn't attack. It just looked at me.

(???): [Chuckles] "Please, forgive the sudden arrival of my friend. I simply would like to just have a chat with you, (Y/n)."

Within seconds my eyes were taken from the curse, and back to the man, who had now stopped walking and stood no more than ten meters away. That smile on his face. It was at this moment that I was stuck. Not out of fear. Solely because...I didn't know what to do. I still wasn't the best fighter, so going up against this curse wouldn't be easy. And even if I did manage to beat it, this man didn't seem like a pushover himself. Still, Inumaki was trapped.

I could tell he was doing his best to try and wriggle his body from the confinements of the web that held him in place. And with his mouth covered as well, there was nothing he could do. So, for now, all I could do was listen to what this person had to say. My body soon went limp, as did my hands holding my cursed sword. This seemed to be the sight the stranger was looking for. For as soon as he saw it, his smile and closed eyes were both opened as he began to talk.

(???): "Wonderful. I do love it when things don't have to get messy." [Turns to Inumaki] "Wouldn't you agree?"

Nothing but held-back groans could be heard coming from him, leading this stranger to chuckle, all before turning back to me.

(???): "First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Suguru Geto, and let me just come forward and say, my goal here is not to hurt you, or your friend, (Y/n). I simply want to talk."

(Y/n): "W-Well, get to it...Before I'm done waiting."

I tried my best to be intimidating. But the old me wasn't exactly a pro at such tasks. Leading the stranger, who I now knew was named Suguru Geto, to chuckle as he leaned his head forward slightly.

Geto: [Chuckles] "I see that even without your full potential with cursed energy, you still have the stubbornness of a Gojo. Then again, that is why I'm here. Let me put it straight to you, (Y/n)...I want to help you."

(Y/n): "W-What?"

Geto: "I want to help you. Help you reach your full potential in not only being a sorcerer but also in life. That's what you really want, right? To have a life full of happiness, of fun, of feeling like you belong somewhere? I can give you that..."

If I was shocked from his previous sentence before, now I was doubled in it. My eyes and mouth both began to extend as the effects of this man's words registered into my system. So much went on in my head that I didn't really know where to start. For one, whoever this Geto guy was, he seemed to definitely know me.

Not only from my name and lack of cursed energy. But from my goals and desires as well. He seemed to know the defining factors that made up the person that was (Y/n) (L/n). But just because he was selling such a product, didn't mean I was buying. Geto seemed to understand that, however, so when he noticed the doubt on my face. He double-downed.

Geto: "I understand if this is forward, and for that, I ask your forgiveness. But I've been watching your progress, (Y/n). Not only at Tokyo's Jujutsu High, but in Kyoto as well."

(Y/n): "H-How did you--"

Geto: [Smiles] "Let's just say I have friends. But just like they are my friends, I want to become your friend as well, (Y/n). And the thing with friends is, we help each other. So, become my friend, and let me help you achieve everything you've ever wanted. I can even give you the answers...You've always searched for."

At that moment, my head perked. Geto knew it, and so did I. I don't know why I reacted in such a way. I mean, there were never really any questions in life that boggled my brain. At least, questions I knew this guy could answer. But as I went through the vault of my mind, searching for some question Geto could possibly be referring to, I came to a sudden thought. It was when I did so, Geto's eyes widened slightly. His smile further expanded. I didn't end up saying a word, but I didn't need to. It already seemed Geto knew the question I was thinking of.

Geto: "Yes. I can even answer that question. The one boggled away in your mind. The one you've been thinking about ever since you were a little boy. The question of... 'Why did my own Mother seem afraid of me?'."

As soon as that thought entered my mind, my thoughts shoved my consciousness back to when I was a kid, lying in bed, as the figure of my mother stood near the door to give me one final good night. However, unlike memories, I remember seeing. In this one, she did not keep her smile. Instead, it only wavered. All before she finally lost the strength to stay in my room and left. As for six-year-old me, I was left lying in bed, in the complete darkness, forced to listen through the walls as my mother cried her eyes out.

"Why? Why did I do it? Why did I do it? He's only a little boy. Why did I have to make him suffer?"

The voice of my mother was loud. Filled with endless amounts of sorrow and anguish as she cried before my Father. I barely remember this part of the memory. Yet, now that I was witnessing it, it felt like I had lived with this thought my entire life. I knew my Mom always loved me, she showed such every day. But when it came time to put me to bed, she seemed to break that mirror in front of her face.

One that reflected the same expressions I offered to her. Ones of innocence and love. But as I was now starting to remember, my childhood wasn't so innocent. As my mind was brought back to reality, my eyes barely focused on anything. They were still so set on what I just saw. I was blinded by the memories that I could no longer hear the groans of warning from Inumaki. Groans of warning to not get closer toward Geto. Yet, that was all my weak body could do.

(Y/n): "H-How...How--"

Geto: "--Do you remember that? Simple, actually. It seems, despite what you believe, (Y/n), you are full of cursed energy. I would even dare say more than Gojo himself."

My eyes pitched toward Geto.

Geto: "Think of it like a dam. But instead of water, it's filled up with cursed energy. If the dam were to burst, all the curse energy inside of you were launch into the universe, in return, creating curses. It appears, subconsciously, at least, that you have instead diverted your cursed energy into two streams. The lesser, weaker stream, is the one you walk through every day. Whilst, the mighty stream is your true potential. It is that true potential that I believe you have used unconsciously to block that memory from your mind."

(Y/n): "B-But why? Why would I not remember that? Why...Why was Mom crying?"

"Geto..." [Sighs] "...Is where I am afraid things get complicated."

When my eyes returned to Geto, he now carried a face covered with hesitation. It was like the knowledge he had was there, he just didn't want to tell me. It only made me hungrier to find out.

(Y/n): "What? What is it?"

Geto: "I...I don't know if I should say."

(Y/n): "What? No! Tell me! I-I need to know. You clearly know something, so just tell me it, please!"

Geto: "Are...You sure?"

(Y/n): "Yes! Please!"

With these words, Geto's smile returned. But through my desperation to find out what was going on, I failed to see such a mark, the same could be said for the concern in Inumaki's eyes, who was left restrained by the spider's web. Meanwhile, Geto returned to his normal demeanour, leading my waiting breath to hitch in my throat.

Geto: "I don't know how else to say this, so, I'll say it bluntly...You're not human, (Y/n)."

(Y/n): "W-What...? I'm...I'm not...Human?"

Geto: "Well, not fully. You're half human, half curse."

(Y/n): "...C-Curse?"

Geto: "Yes. From the knowledge I gathered, it seemed like before you were born, your parents tried having a baby. They tried everything, but it just wouldn't work. Such caused your Mother to fall into a depression. It was in this depression that your mother came across a curse, and it was through a pact that you...(Y/n) (L/n)...were born."

I didn't know what to do. In this very moment, my body was frozen with uncertainty. So much coursed through my mind that I didn't know what to think about. Was this all true? Was I half curse? How was I born? Why did my mother make a pact with a curse? It was all so convoluting and hard to handle that I felt like a knife was being plunged into my heart. It was beating so rapidly I felt like my body would explode. The tension of it all caused my knees to give out.

With my body lowering, all I could do was plant my hands on the cold concrete floor of the abyss of a shopping district. My katana cursed tool falling to the side as tears fell from my eyes and landed on the black bandages given to me by Gojo. They were now coming loose, kinda like my entire world. As this happened, Geto turned to Inumaki and smiled, causing the once silent male to scream the best he could, for no effect to happen. Meanwhile, as my barriers were dropped, Geto came by my side and planted a hand on my shoulder.

(Y/n): "This...This can't be true. This is all a lie..." [Looks up at Geto] "I don't know you. You're just appeared out of nowhere an attacked us. Why should I believe you?"

Geto: "You're right, I did come out of nowhere. But I did not attack you, (Y/n). I implied used my curse technique to have this curse here hold your friend momentarily just so we could talk. Look, he means no harm..."

Looking over my shoulder, I witnessed as the eight-legged curse did its best to smile and tilt its head, as if saying hello. The remark caused Geto to smile, as I just continued to look on in tears.

Geto: "See? I mean you no harm, (Y/n)."

(Y/n): "Tha...That doesn't prove anything. What you're saying is a lie!"

Geto: "I suppose I can't blame you for thinking that. Such a revealing secret in such a sudden manner. But, if you don't believe it...Why are you crying then?"

Why...Why was I crying? This guy technically had no proof about any of this. Yet, with the memory I saw, and piecing together the imaginary puzzle pieces to fit in with the scenario...It all made so much sense. The crying from my mother. The way she always looked at me, with those apologetic eyes. I once took them for joy of having a son. But now, it seemed she was sorry that I was born in the way I was. There was still no hesitation that she loved me.

The affection I was given growing up proved as much. But still...Even the thought of thinking I was part curse...It was daunting. I always did feel different, for sure. But this much? Was such even possible? I remember hearing stories about it, but still...It felt so odd. But the more I thought on that, the more I questioned, what if it was real? What if everything Geto was saying to me was all true. The more these thoughts circled my mind, all I could do was lift my head in anguish.

(Y/n): "What do you want with me?"

Geto: "As I said before, I want to help you." [Smiles] "But, it is true, I would absolutely love your help as well. You see, I see a future (Y/n). A future where all this chaos can finally come to an end. The battle between sorcerers and curses...It's pointless. I mean, why do we do it? To save some pathetic monkeys? They don't deserve our help...They deserve to be wiped out."

It was at this point that I witnessed the true side of Suguru Geto.

Geto: "Just think about it, (Y/n)? All this tension and fighting. It's because these monkeys can't control their cursed energy. It's because of them that so many people get hurt. If it wasn't for them. People wouldn't know suffering! If only there was a world, just with sorcerers. Then there would be no more curses!"

(Y/n): "...So you want to kill them?"

Geto: "Huh?"

My words seemed to break Geto from his concentration. The deranged smile on his face calming down slightly. Meanwhile, my eyes never left the floor.

(Y/n): "The people? Those who aren't sorcerers. You want to kill them, right?"

Geto: "It is only natural, (Y/n). It's because of these monkeys that there are curses in the world. Cursed energy is born from the negative thoughts and desires of people. Those who can't control their cursed energy cause it to expand and leave their bodies. That creates curses. Curses which sorcerers have to fight. Sorcerers being the only people to control their cursed energy. It only makes sense to end those that cause so much trouble."

(Y/n): "By bringing out trouble on them? By killing them."

Geto: "A price to pay, I'm afraid. But it will definitely be worth it when it comes to true peace."

True peace...? Was there even such a thing as that? Even so, with everything Geto just said. I still found myself lingering on one particular question.

(Y/n): "...Why me?"

Geto: "Hmm?"

(Y/n): "Why...Me? Why are you telling me all this?"

Geto: [Smiles] "Because, (Y/n), believe it or not...You are the strongest sorcerer I have ever seen. You may not see it. But I see the cursed potential inside of you. Waiting to be released."

Geto was right. Even though I couldn't see it, the radiating blue fire of energy that surrounded my body was unlike anyone had seen before.

Geto: "And, I must admit, I hate the way Gojo, and everyone else, has been keeping this a secret from you. It wouldn't be the first time he's held someone back."

(Y/n): [Looks up] "Gojo?"

Geto: "Yes, Gojo..." [Chuckles] "Believe it or not, but I used to be a sorcerer alongside Satoru. But just like me, he wants to hold you back from your true potential because he, and everyone above him, fears you."

(Y/n): "No...There's no way he...fears me...He's Gojo. He acts like Gojo!"

Geto: "A charade, I am afraid. All I can say is (Y/n), why else would your Mother so earnestly want you to become a sorcerer at a Jujutsu High? First, it was Kyoto. But when that didn't work out, she sent you to Satoru. Not because she believed he could get something out of you. But keep it in. In case the day ever came when your 'other side' came out. That is why I come to you today with an offer. An offer to free yourself from the chains set around you by Satoru and others. I want you to be free by my side, where I shall show you that what cursed potential inside of you is truly capable of."

I'll give Geto something, he was a sweet talker. He knew the right words to say and the right nerves to attack. If he wasn't a twisted sorcerer, he'd make a good door-to-door salesman. However, he was a twisted sorcerer. Unfortunately for me, that wasn't the part I was focused on. My mind just continued to linger on the resounding sensation I got whenever I questioned what he was saying was true. It wouldn't be completely out there for Gojo to keep secrets if he thought it was in the best interest of someone.

I mean, he did that exact same thing with me and the bandages. And Mom, she did want nothing more than for me to go to a Jujutsu School. Even after Kyoto failed. She still wanted me to go to Tokyo. And then there was the fact every night, before I went to bed, she said the exact same words Sorcerers say when casting a curtain. Normally they use it to keep curses in...So why else would my Mother say those exact words to me?! It was crazy, for sure...But crazy enough to be true. It was that slither of doubt that I had, that I didn't know what to do. I never really wanted to be a sorcerer, so if I did what Geto said, I could finally have a place where I could be at peace.

But even so, I didn't want to hurt people. Far from it. People may have hurt me all my life, but I'd never want to do that in return. It seemed I was tossed and pulled two ways by figments of Gojo and Geto. Both trying to get me onto their side, when in reality, I just wanted to be happy. It was as I came to that realization that my focus was brought back to reality by a single, silent sound. Upon dropping my head, I realized what that sound had come from. There on the ground, just below my face, the letter given to me by Maki rested. As I looked at it, my soul and mind were flooded with the words she told me.

"Don't worry. If you work hard, you'll get there."

"Well, you are weird..."

"I mean, you always talk about movies with Panda. You goof around in class. You have...toys in your room..."

"But...That's no reason to hate you. Those things are what make you, you."

It wasn't often that I was given words like that. Now, sure, they were in the same way Maki went about talking normally. But you could tell she was trying her best to be sincere. And honestly, after not knowing what was truth and what was lies, to finally have some common ground for something was nice. And even thinking to the letter itself. Whether it was one of love or not.

Maki still went out of her way to give it to me. And going off how she didn't want me to read it in front of her, it must mean something to her. Honestly, I wanted to open it now more then than ever. Such was a thing that just early caused my mind to go haywire, but right now, it was the only thing bringing me peace. And it turns out that's the exact thing I needed to realize what needed to be done.

Geto: [Smiles] "So, (Y/n)-kun, what do you say? Want to help me make the world a better place?"

(Y/n): "What do I say...?"

The question lingered for that much longer. My eyes hovering over Maki's letters as my mind gathers up everything that I learned. Geto's smile hovered as he looked down at me. Inumaki's look of concern as he remained stuck to the wall. Everything that was brought up, it was leading to this. The final ticks of the clock echoed in the air as I came to a conclusion.

(Y/n): "What do I say..." [Looks up at Geto] "...I say fuck that!"

Geto's eyes were only able to widen slightly in confusion before his gut was greeted by a powerful punch. My first, embedded with the bandages from Gojo and the golden aura of my cursed energy, all coming together to deliver a powerful attack that caused Suguru Geto to go flying into the air and toward the metal beam he was previously seated on.

Such an attack caused the Spider Curse to fall to attention. However, all it could do was send a single look in my direction before it was silenced with a single strike of my cursed tool. The blade of the katana, a single swipe through the air, and the dust of the curses remains were all that remained as I looked up at Inumaki with a smile.

(Y/n): "It all really comes together when you need it, huh?"

Inumaki: "Mghh! Mugh!"

(Y/n): "Oh..." [Chuckles] "Right. I'll get you down."

Bending over I proceeded to pick up Maki's note and slide into into my school uniform. Once done, my next step was to free Inumaki. However, the next step was the last one I took. Out of nowhere, my control over my body became rigged. I could still move, but barely. Upon looking around, I saw no one holding me. It was like an invisible hand was wrapped around my body. Though, I soon came to realize it was something else. My eyes immediately darted to the sky, where I witnessed Geto, his smirk having returned, standing atop the metal beam once more. It appeared my attack hadn't done anything but sent him flying.

Geto: "Tsk. Tsk. I've got to say, (Y/n), I am rather disappointed. I was hoping you would be smarter than Satoru."

(Y/n): [Whilst struggling] "Argh! Why...Why can't I move?"

Geto: [Grins] "That would be thanks to my cursed Technique. Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Basically, I can control curses. And..." [Chuckles] "Well, I guess this proves that you are half curse after all, (Y/n)."

I would have normally been shocked by such a revelation. But I was too focused on trying to free myself to respond or contemplate such right now. Instead, I continued to fight against Geto's metal grip, something that seemed to be spiking his anger as he struggled to keep me still.

Geto: "...But...It seems that half-human of you...argh...Won't...Give up!"

It was the struggle in his voice that pushed me forward. It gave me hope that I could free myself. If I could, I could get to Inumaki, free him, and then surely with his curse technique, he'd help us both get out of here. The thought of such a thing brought a surprising amount of joy. The images of hanging out with Panda, laughing, and having fun. Getting to know Inumaki better. Talking to Gojo. And finally reading Maki's letter. All thoughts brought a smile to my face as I finally came to an understanding. I had friends...I had people that cared about me. Such a recollection was blocked previously from my own self-misery.

But now...I was done digging my own grave. I wasn't going to let the failures of the past hold me back from making something out of my future. Unfortunately for me...This is where I died. I don't know how I knew it'd happen. But I just did. It was when I did that I realized...All the pain and sorrow of the past was no longer needed. It was in this moment that I finally let it all go. Once I did, I could finally be happy. For the first time ever, I smiled. I properly smiled. My eyes closed, tears running down my eyes as I faced Inumaki and smiled at him. Despite not looking at him, I could sense the confusion coming from him.

But I didn't let the sour situation take this moment away from me. I was glad. That even if I was destined to die, at least I could spend these final moments as a new man. So...That's what I did. In my final moments, all I could do is smile and cry. The last thing I remember was opening my eyes. The cool sensation of wet tears present on my cheeks. And the look of confusion that I previously sensed from Inumaki. His face, as if mentally asking me so many questions, was the last thing I saw...Before another black void opened in front of him. A black void that soon swallowed me whole...

******

The next thing I knew, I was standing in a void of complete and utter darkness. It was like I wasn't on earth anymore. I could move, and breath, so that was good. But still, the world around me was so blank and empty that I questioned if I had died. Well, I was given an answer to that when out of nowhere the voice of Geto entered the space around me.

"You know, (Y/n), I was really hoping we could have been friends. I've been searching for a good friend since Satoru and I parted ways. How disappointed I am to find you making me do this."

(Y/n): "Where am I?"

"Let's just say that you are in a void between space and time. You're alive...But only because I want to give you some time before you come to realize working with me will benefit you just as much as me."

(Y/n): "And this is possible...How?"

"A cursed technique of someone who sees the world the same as me. But that matters little. Now, normally, I would leave you here for a few...months, years, I'm not really sure how time is here compared to the world of monkeys, with nothing but your thoughts. But I want you to be ready for your return (Y/n), where you can accept your cursed potential and become something more than a simple sorcerer...."

As he said such words, two black portals appeared some twenty meters away from (Y/n)'s current location in the void. Two curses, both with distorted and crumbled human bodies, appeared. Their senses seemingly blind as they looked around them.

"...So, I've decided to leave you with some homework. For as long as you are here, you will be forced to fight curses every single minute of every single day that you are here. I want you to be the strongest you can possibly be when you return by my side. Then we'll be able to make a better world."

(Y/n): "What? A better world, and you're still in it? I don't think that's how that works."

"What's this, you joke now? I didn't expect that from you, (Y/n)."

(Y/n): "Yeah, well, I was beginning to think the old me was a little stale and boring. I mean, before you took me away, I decided to become a completely different person. One who'll be a great sorcerer. Not for you. But for me! SO BRING ALL THE CURSES YOU WANT MY WAY! BECAUSE I'LL MAKE SURE TO SEND THEM RIGHT BACK!"

A large smile rested on my face as I focused on the two curses. My smile did not falter as they suddenly turned and dashed toward me. I simply accepted it. Another sign of a changed character was how with seeming ease my fists ignited into a golden light. A light which only got brighter as I launched off my feet and went to face the curses head on...

So, yeah...That's my death. Well, not really. When I say death, I mean, to the old me. The one who was held back by the thoughts and opinions of others. But no longer. Now I was a free man stretching my limits, and thus, also stretching the boundaries of my cursed energy. But let me just say, the party trick to make my fists glow was only just the beginning. The rest that's to come will simply blow your socks off. So...You know what? Why just tell you that, when I can show you?

[3rd Person POV]

-2017: Present Day-

People say there is new life in death. Whether they mean going to heaven or not is up for debate. But death was also something that was feared. Every second of every day, someone dies. And in return, it leads someone to be scared. It's through that negative emotion that cursed energy is created, and with cursed energy...comes curses. Vile, disgusting beings that brought nothing but pain to the people of the world. And in return, their only hope of survival were Jujutsu Sorcerers.

But sometimes sorcerers were out of their limit, such as current First Year student of Tokyo's Jujustu High, Megumi Fushiguro. The young 17-year-old boy with spiked black hair found himself within one of the halls of Miyagi Prefectural Sugisawa Third High School in the middle of the night. Now, that wouldn't normally be so bad. However, things were brought up to a ten when he found himself facing off with a massive curse, who was currently in the process of consuming the two members of the school's Occult Research Club.

The vile, human/lizard-like creature, with multiple eyes, arms, and mouths found a sick pleasure in consuming the two kids. And all the while Megumi, along with his two Wolf shikigami's were left sweating in fear.

Megumi: [Thoughts] "I'm not gonna make it!"

His thoughts of fear and regret filled the mental world. The feelings Megumi felt as all he could do was watch as the curse tried to consume the young boy and girl, including the cursed object that the girl currently had on her. The outcome of such if this cursed consumed such an item was nightmarish, and could doom the world. Truly now was the time to offer up prayers to anyone that was listening. And thankfully for Megumi...Someone was.

"I'm not gonna make it!"

In a dark, bleak world, a familiar set of eyes could be seen suddenly snapping open as the voice of Megumi filled the air. A grin followed seconds after as this figure twisted his head to see a black portal, about the size of his body appear some distance away. His interest was suddenly peaked, however, when he noticed no new batch of curses coming through to face him. After a few more seconds of seeing nothing, this figure's eyebrow proceeded to rise slightly as he got to his feet. A gentle scratch of his chin was followed soon by his voice, thus confirming everyone's suspicions.

(Y/n): "Hmm...Mr. Portal. If I jump through you right now, will you kill me, or take me to some place more fun than this?"

The figure of (Y/n) could be seen on full display. Still carrying his appearance of his-self when he first entered the void, though noticeably more energetic and quirky, (Y/n) also now downed a suit that appeared to be made up of the bandages that were once wrapped around his arms. Now they had formed around the majority of his body.

A noticeable batch of facial hair could also be seen. Now, when he received no response from the hovering black circle (Y/n) realized there were two options. One, remain here, in this empty void which he was prisoned in one year ago, though for him, it was three years, and potentially face more curses delivered to him by Geto. Or, he could--

(Y/n): "Fuck that! Haha!"

The sound of his joyous, boyish, laughter fluttered the air as (Y/n) pounced at his opportunity to free his prison. Even if it did led him to the company of Geto, (Y/n) was still willing, as it only meant he'd be able to show the scumbag who imprisoned him what he had learnt whilst being kept away. This was where the story of (Y/n), and the story of Jujutsu High came back together.

For in the present world, as all hope seemed lost with the two students being consumed by the curse, including the cursed item, out of nowhere Megumi's eyes were forced to burst open when the window to the right of the curse suddenly shattered.

A storm of glass suddenly filled the air as time slowed as a young boy wearing a yellow jumper with pinkish/blonde hair jumped through the window, some seven stories up from the ground floor of the school, and launched toward the curse without any fear. Such a sight sparked the gaze of Megumi, who seemingly knew this boy.

Megumi: "Itadori?! What are you--"

"Hahahaha!!!"

The sound of laughter was all it took for Megumi to suddenly snap his gaze to the right of the curse, his eyes widening upon seeing a black portal open up. However, he was given even more shock when a person jumped out of it. A boy, wearing black bandages over a torn Jujutsu High Uniform, seemingly the same age as himself and Itadori, pounced from the hovering circle with a large smile on his face. He seemed to pay no attention to either Megumi or Itadori. Even so, (Y/n) managed to follow Itadori as the pair came to a sudden stop at the highest limit of the hallway roof before turning to look down at the targeted curse below.

Itadori: [Thoughts] "I think you had a proper death, Grandpa. But this death of my friends..."

(Y/n): [Thoughts] "Cursed Technique, number twenty-three..."

"...Is wrong!"

"...Stampede!"

At that moment the pair came in union for their attack on the curse. Itadori delivering a powerful punch to the forehead of the creature. Whilst (Y/n), who simply had his palm placed out, created a miniature black portal, similar to the one that brought him back to reality, which summoned the fist of an unknown curse with white fur, a hand with three fingers and sharp yellowish claws, to deliver a powerful strike of its own. Either way, the attack was enough to stun the curse to the point the two people in the process of being eaten were freed from its grip.

Long enough that Itadori could save the girl, whilst (Y/n), unconsciously grabbed the funny-looking pair of legs swinging around. He originally did so because he thought it was the curse's deformed penis or something, and wanted to see if it was a weak spot. But upon realising it was a person, he rescued the poor individual. Afterward, Intadori could be seen landing by the side of Megumi. The pair watching as the curse's massive body turned in the hallway to face them.

Itadori: "So this is a curse, huh? Not what I was expecting."

(Y/n): "Eh. Honestly, this one is the most human looking you can get really."

Itadori: "Oh, that so?" [Smiles] "Thanks!"

(Y/n): [Smiles] "Anytime!"

As the pair smiled, Itadori turned to his left to see (Y/n) was standing there, his own smile on full display.

Itadori: "...AAAAHHHH!!!!"

(Y/N): "AAAAHHHH!!!!"

Itadori: "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

(Y/N): "I'M (Y/N)!!!"

Megumi: [Thoughts] "(Y/n)?"

The name immediately sparked Megumi's attention, who had already turned to the pair upon hearing the screaming. But now, after actually looking at (Y/n), his eyes widened upon realizing. However, it was due to this that Megumi failed to notice the curse suddenly launch in the direction of the trio. Thankfully for him, (Y/n) did notice.

(Y/n): "Oh, look out! I got this. Here, catch!"

Itadori: "Huh?"

All Itadori could do was turn to (Y/n), only for the body of the dude (Y/n) previously rescued from the curse, to suddenly drop on him. Itadori struggled immensely to hold the body of both his friends at the same time. As for Megumi, he was speechless and unable to move as he witnessed the sight before him. When the curse first noticed (Y/n), it was quick to send its extended arms to tackle him out of the air.

(Y/n): "Oh, no you don't~" [Grins] "Cursed Technique, number one! Golden Plunder!"

Immediately his fists were surrounded by a familiar golden light. This was (Y/n)'s first cursed technique he had discovered and had since mastered it since being imprisoned by Geto. Such was seen clear as day when, without even touching the curse, golden fists in the shape of (Y/n)'s own launched from his punches to thin air to strike the curse's arms away. With his chest open, (Y/n) proceeded to quickly spin in the air, as he did, a golden light surrounded his foot.

The next thing that was seen was the curse being sent flying to the end of the hallway. For twenty meters it was sent without a noticeable stop. It wasn't until it dug its burnt hands into the ground did it managed to stop itself from going even further. However, upon lifting its head, it was greeted by the sight of the grinning (Y/n) standing at the end of the hallway. The curse could only tilt its massive head as Itadori and Megumi watched on in awe.

(Y/n): [Grins] "You know, you are one unlucky curse. You have had so many other sorcerers come to fight you. I mean...You did. But, they weren't going so well so I felt like I kinda had to intervene....Oh, well! That doesn't matter! What matters now is...You're screwed, ya ugly fuck! Ha! Ha!"

"Kill...Kill...KILL SORCERER!!!"

(Y/n): "Not just yet..." [Breaths in and out] "Cursed technique, number thirty-three, Bridge!"

Following his words, (Y/n) proceeded to place his right hand on the ground. At first, it seemed that nothing happened. As nothing went off after (Y/n) spoke the name of his cursed technique. However, Megumi and Itadori were given the surprise of their life when they looked up to see the curse was now standing in front of them, in the place of (Y/n). Or, in reality, (Y/n)'s cursed technique was instead used to not swap their positions, but basically reverse the structure of the entire school in this one moment.

So Megumi and Itadori now found themselves at the end of the hallway where the curse now was, whilst (Y/n) was at the opposite end. Basically, a reverse of what it was before. Now, this may seemed ineffective. However, it did enough to cause the curse to lose focus. When it noticed Megumi and Itadori, but most importantly the sealed cursed item in his hand, the curse immediately went to pounce for the pair. This was where (Y/n) jumped in.

(Y/n): "Cursed technique, number fourteen, Cartoon!"

As (Y/n) flung through the air toward the curse, he reached out with his right arm. As he did, a small black portal appeared in his palm. Seconds later, the figure of a cartoonish-styled baseball bat was summoned from it. The looney and tuney item was a sore sight, as it appeared to come straight from a cartoon. Yet, it was due to these cartoon properties that (Y/n) was able to double, no, triple the size of the bat.

Now it was the side of the curses head, and send it smashing straight across the stomach of the creature. A cartoonish styled--BANG!--appearing with the strike. As for the curse, the attack was embedded with enough strength that it sent the creature rocketing through the wall off the school and into the air outside. Meanwhile (Y/n) landed on his feet, and brought his free hand up to the roof of his eyes whilst the other held the bat against his shoulder.

(Y/n): "I always knew I'd be sick at baseball."

The sight of the spectacle was enough to leave Itadori in complete awe, whilst Megumi was left just looking at the back of (Y/n)'s head in complete shock. Unfortunately for everyone, the fight was not over. You see, as it was being sent flying through the air, the curse sent its tendrils down to scop up the sealed cursed item straight from the pocket of the girl Itadori had saved.

Itadori: "Hey! It got the thing!"

A joyish expression filled the curse's face as he gripped the rag only for it to peel away to showcase the true appearance of the cursed item--a finger. The sight of the curse being in possession of the object was enough to frighten Itadori and Megumi back to life. Without hesitation, Itadori launched forward to reclaim the finger.

Megumi: "No! Wai--"

Megumi tried to call, but Itadori didn't listen. Though, the notion did capture the attention of (Y/n), who turned his head just as Itadori ran passed and jumped into the air. Time seemed to slow long enough as Itadori ran passed (Y/n) for the pair to make brief eye contact. However, it was only brief, as Itadori quickly propelled his focus back onto reclaiming the finger. And he managed to do that.

Pouncing off a few tendrils coming his way, Itadori was able to flip off each one to eventually jump over the creature's head to snatch the finger before it was eaten. Now the sight of Itadori bouncing all over the place, desperate to avoid being killed by the curse as he held tightly onto the finger, was all (Y/n) could see. Yet, despite the seriousness of the notion, all he did was smile as he watched it. Even when Megumi suddenly came beside him and yelled out at Itadori.

Megumi: "Itadori! Why can't you understand to just take your friends and run?! You're in big trouble yourself!"

But Itadori didn't respond. He simply focused on protecting the finger. Even if it meant getting his body thrown into the roof of the building and the metal railing around the sides. This was something (Y/n) noticed, and despite the smile that remained on his face, his focus was more intuned with what Itadori was doing. By this point, he figured out what they were protecting was a cursed item, and it must have been pretty powerful going off how Megumi was reacting right now.

Megumi: "Itadori! Only curses can exorcise other curses! You can't beat it!"

"You can't win!"

Immediately, the time (Y/n) played dodgeball flashed before his eyes, as it did, Itadori, who still dodged the attacks of the curse, responded to Megumi.

Itadori: "Is this the time to be saying that?!"

Megumi: "You're going to die at this rate!"

"You're going to lose."

Another flash appeared before (Y/n), this time of Maki telling him with a grin that he was going to lose their fight. Meanwhile, Itadoriy hung for dear life onto the arm of the curse as he went to flick the boy over the edge of the building. Itadori managed to use this as a means to launch into the air and land back onto the roof of the nearby building.

Itadori: "If I went home now, I'd be having nightmares! Besides..."

Megumi goes to finally rush out to help Itadori, but he's stopped when (Y/n) stretched out his arm in the way of the boy. Megumi instantly turns to (Y/n), only to see his gaze focused straight on Itadori, who continues to fight.

Itadori: "...I have my own troublesome curse already."

With that declaration, Itadori jumps into action. He's able to avoid the first strike from the curse, only to get the second to collide with his chest, sending him flying into the air. Meanwhile, Megumi was now struggling to get passed (Y/n).

Megumi: "Hey! What are you doing! I've got to help him--"

(Y/n): [Without looking] "Sometimes the best way to help people is help them complete their dream."

Megumi: "Complete their...What are you--"

(Y/n): "What's his name?"

Megumi: "H-Huh?"

(Y/n): [Turns to Megumi: "His name? Itadori, right?"

Megumi didn't respond. He could only stare at (Y/n) in awe. Now that he looked him face on, he knew his thoughts were true. Immediately, a flash appeared before Megumi's eyes. Showcasing a time he was in class at Jujutsu high, where he looked up on the wall to see a photograph of (Y/n). Now Megumi knew for sure knew who this person was.

Megumi: "...You're (Y/n) (L/n)."

(Y/n) didn't respond, he simply kept his eyes on Itadori, who now was continuing his flight toward the stars. However, he was only able to go so far before gravity plays its part. It was just before this that the finger in his grip managed to slip out from Itadori's hand. His eyes grew wide in shock, watching as the finger continued to go higher and higher whilst his body was pulled down toward the open mouth of the curse. With quick thinking he was able to ricochet off the parted teeth of the curse and bounced upward, just barely able to catch the severed finger with his teeth. Such a sight caused Megumi's eyes to widen in horror.

Megumi: "Idiot! Hand it over to me or you'll be--"

"You can do it, Itadori!"

Megumi: "Huh?"

Immediately his focus was shifted to (Y/n), who stood beside him. His large smile was back on display as he brought his hands up to his mouth to cheer Itadori on. Megumi was shocked, even Itadori was forced to momentarily turn his gaze in the direction of (Y/n)'s voice.

Itadori: "Huh?"

(Y/n): "Go, Itadori! You can do it! Swallow that finger!"

Megumi: "Swallow the finger?"

Itadori: [Thoughts] "Swallow it?"

(Y/n): "GOOOOOO!!!!"

The loud cheer of (Y/n) rang through the air as Itadori focused on the finger between his teeth. (Y/n) was right. There was only one way to finish this. Even before (Y/n) said anything, Itadori knew that if it came to either the curse eating the finger, his school and friends were doomed. If he wanted to beat this thing, he'd just need some cursed energy of his own. Megumi told him such earlier. (Y/n)'s words were only added motivation. So, without a second thought, Itadori launched the finger into the air with his mouth before swallowing it whole.

Such a sight caused Megumi's eyes to widen and (Y/n) to cheer in joy like a kid at a festival. However, that reaction was soon swapped out with a grin. Seconds after (Y/n) took off in the blink of an eye. Without so much as a single glance, (Y/n) was able to rescue Itadori from the clutches of the curse and return him safely beside Megumi, where he now lay on the ground. As for (Y/n), he was soon back to the fight, now standing in front of the curse. Not a single glimmer of fear appeared in his gaze as he looked up at him.

(Y/n): "As much as I've enjoyed this fight, it's time for you to rest. But don't worry...I'll do it in the best way I know how."

A genuine look of kindness mixed with happiness soon came to life on (Y/n)'s face as he proceeded to bring his two hands out in front of him. Placing both index and thumbs into the position of guns, (Y/n) slowly brought them opposite one another, like a photographer about to take a photo. Lining up the rectangular shape of his fingers with the face of the creature, (Y/n) proceeded to close his eyes and took in a deep breath. As he did, all sounds around him came silent. Within the school, looking through the massive hole in the wall, Megumi and a dazed Itadori watched on in silence.

Upon opening his eyes, (Y/n) found himself and the curse before him trapped in a realm of complete darkness, similar to the void he had been trapped in for so long. You see, this cursed technique wasn't just a normal one amongst the rest. To put it simple, this was (Y/n)'s version of Gojo's Limitless. He had heard stories about how Gojo could control space around him with cursed energy manipulation when using that particular cursed technique.

However, whereas Gojo could control the world's space around him, (Y/n) did similarly, but instead used such to turn the world around him into the void. It was this dark abyss that trapped his opponents within its shadowy walls, unable to escape. It was that very fact that sealed this curse's fate. And it all came with the name of this final attack.

(Y/n): "Cursed Technique...Number five...Cursed potential."

Immediately following the words, the skill of this cursed technique went into play. Think of it like a raindrop falling to the ground, once it collides a ripple effect is created. It's similar here. That very ripple effect landed directly atop of the curse, causing his body ripple apart, but not necessarily die. It's as its body is sent in multiple directions like a droplet of water that the creature's body shifts and changed into different appearances.

Basically, it's whatever the curse resembles most. And in this case, it was a lizard. As the effect of the ripple came to an end, the curse's body came back together, this time, however, it was nothing more than a small lizard. It was still a curse, but a rather weak one. So, in the end, all (Y/n) had to do was walk towards it. His hands placed calmly in his pockets as he stood over the creature. Offering it one final look...Before stomping its life out from underneath his foot.

[THERE WE ARE! 16K WORDS!!! I really hope you guys know how hard I worked for you on this. I was originally going to leave it at the Geto part where the reader is prisoned, but with you guys so eager to see a different version of the reader I decided to add this MASSIVE extra part. Now, as you can see, he's confident, goofy, and OP! But for those who are going to complain about that...He won't be OP OP, he'll be like Gojo, though, with faults and whatnot. All I say is give me time to explain it such before you go bringing it up please. BECAUSE YOU GUYS ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT VERSION OF THE READER, REMEMBER!

What did we think?

WHICH CHAPTER WAS BETTER?

1 OR 2

Anywho, I really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I had a blast writing it and revealing the different abilities the reader had, and I can't wait to bring about more in the upcoming chapters. Speaking of which...I'm having so much fun that I'm willing to do the same deal like last time, though this one a little different... IF THIS CHAPTER CAN GET 175 VOTES IN 24 HOURS, I WILL BRING OUT ANOTHER 15K CHAPTER IN FOUR DAYS TIME!!! THAT'S THREE CHAPTERS IN ONE WEEK! SO...if that's something you want, get to votin', but only if you enjoyed the chapter and wanna see more. Nonetheless, thank you all for reading everyone, I truly hope you're keen for the story I have to tell. Anyway, it's 2 in the morning and I'm tired as, so I'mma hit the hay. Have fun, awesome people, and I'll see you all again soon~]
