chapter 2
"Disgusting." Sukuna scoffed.
"What's disgusting?" Gojo asked, slightly confused.
"Why are they so colour coded. What do they think they are, the power puff girls?"
"Pfft-" Geto tried to hold back his laughter but Gojo couldn't.
Sukuna hated it when he laughed so loud which was why he'd rather stay silent when with him.
He looked back down at his food and continued eating when he realized his table was getting looks. Yes it was his table, he even carved his name on it when someone said "It's not your table, it doesn't have your name on it." but Gojo and Geto just invited themselves to the table and Sukuna did nothing about it. Definitely not because he was lonely but it was totally for the sake of his father's friendship.
After he was done from eating, he went out to the ground and headed for the "no smoking" sign. It was his favorite spot to smoke. As expected, the same short brown haired girl he always saw was in her place. Despite seeing her there almost on a daily basis, he never started a conversation nor asked her name. And she never spoke too. He did see that girl around Geto and Gojo a few times, mostly when studying. She was pretty but he never had feelings for her, let alone any girl. Or so he claimed.
He remembered his parents talking about him having a partner someday but they let him take his time. He didn't really want a partner, that's pathetic. Even his friends didn't have partners, not that he had anyone other than Geto and Gojo who claim to be his friends. He doesn't need friends either, he was fine on his own.
After he finished his cigarette, he tossed it aside and earned a smokey sigh from the girl as he walked away and went to class. There was a new student that day. He introduced himself as Yu Haibara and yapped about himself and about how excited he was to meet everyone and he hoped they'd all become his friends.
Sukuna wasn't listening, all he did was look at him and imagine the many ways he could bully the new kid with a smirk on his face. While he was daydreaming, a Hello Kitty bracelet was shoved infront of his face. He looked up and saw the new kid handing it to him from a basket of bracelets he apparently made. There were many kinds but for some reason Hello Kitty was picked for him. Like wtf. He took it silently and looked around and saw that he distributed the bracelets he made among the class.
Haibara was seated next to the blond silent guy and the teacher started the lesson. Sukuna just looked at the bracelet in confusion and was about to toss it but remembered the punishment he got last time he tossed trash on the classroom floor on purpose so he just kept the bracelet in his desk.
After class, he got up to leave before Gojo caught up to him. He barely walked a few steps before he felt a hand tap his shoulder.
"Oh my god, Gojo just leave me-"
"Excuse me! Sorry but you forgot your bracelet in the desk !"
Sukuna turned around to see the new kid behind him, putting forward his hand that had the bracelet in it.
"Huh."
"You forgot your bracelet in the-"
"I heard you. I said huh cuz I'm in shock that you think that someone like me would want this trash."
"Ohh, well if you don't like this one, I've got a couple spare others you could pick from."
Haibara took out a small bunch of bracelets from his pocket, trying to arrange them in his hands to let him see them properly. Sukuna scoffed, plucking some bracelet from Haibara's hand with two fingers as though it were contaminated. He dangled it in front of his face, inspecting it mockingly.
"This is what? Pikachu? A rainbow? Oh no, wait, a star! Wow, new kid. You really know how to read my vibe."
"I...I made it myself. I thought it might make everyone happy."
Sukuna snickered. "Make me happy? Yeah, right. You think slapping some beads together is gonna make me happy? Sorry to break it to you, sunshine, but I don’t need your petty bracelets."
He dropped the bracelets onto the floor and crushed it under his foot, the beads scattering in every direction. A few students nearby gasped, but no one dared step in. Even Gojo and Geto just watched.
Haibara's face fell, his hands trembling slightly as he stared at the ruined bracelet. "I...I wasn’t trying to—"
"Save it," Sukuna snarled, leaning in closer. "Next time you wanna waste my time, think twice."
Sukuna stormed off and the other students walked away as Haibara knelt down to collect the beads. Just then, the silent blond student came out of the class and saw his situation so he knelt down infront of him and helped him collect the beads. He heard all the ruckus but what was he to do about it anyways. He barely knew the new kid. He looked up at the new kid's face. Despite the humiliation he just faced, there was still a faint, determined smile on his face.
"I’ll make a better one next time," he murmured softly, clutching the remaining beads in his hands.
After collecting as much as possible, Haibara thanked the classmate for helping him and even handed him another bracelet.
The school day was over and Sukuna was so glad he gets to go home now. He just had to survive the fact that Gojo and Geto came along to "make sure he doesn't kill anyone as he was too young for jail".
Maybe jail would be fun. No one would bother him and he'd get free housing and food. As always, his thoughts were interupted by Gojo.
"I think the bracelet looks good on me. It's so ✨aesthetic✨."
"Everything looks good on you.. " Geto chuckled and earned a gasp from Gojo.
"Are you flirting with me!?!?!?!?"
"Huh...no. I'm just saying the quote you always say about yourself.."
Sukuna sighed at the noise. "Why are you even still here. Didn't we pass your house a while ago?"
"Yeah, but I'll be going over to Satoru's house with Shoko for a study session"
"More like a party session!!!!" Gojo cheered.
"We're gonna study... You wanna tag along, Sukuna?"
"Who's Shoko?"
"A female friend of ours. I'm sure you saw her before. Short brown hair?"
"Ah. That's her name."
"You have a crush on her!?!?!?" Gojo teased.
"Wh. I don't have a crush on every fricking girl I mention. And no I'm not tagging along. Now scram, you two, I'm taking a shortcut."
"Hopefully we don't get any news of a new murderer in the neighborhood.." Geto sighed dramatically.
"Tsk, shut it." Sukuna shooed them off behind him as he walked through a different path home and the two went their way.
"Maybe I should wear bracelets more often." Gojo said while observing the bracelet he wore.
"No more Rolex watch?"
"No!! Of course I'm keeping it!! I have space, don't you worry your little head." Gojo teasingly pat him as Geto swatted his hand away.
"Seriously, a normal watch does its work, paying in thousands to see the time when it's there on your phone and in a simple watch is ridiculous.."
"It's called flexing, my dear friend. It earns you respect."
"Remind me who in the school respects you?"
"Tch!! There are people who do!!"
"Sure..."
