FOUR YEARS LATER:
Dev and Sonakshi are the proud parents of a 3 year old cutie pie, Aadhya Dixit. She is a monster in disguise. She is basically simple and innocent like Sonakshi on the outside, but mischievous like her aunt Samaira on the inside. She just needs the right stimulation and she can drive anyone nuts just like Samaira. Dev and Sonakshi are a famous singing duo now. They live in their precious beach house, where they have their own recording studio. They also run a music school in Lucknow, headed by Fareeda and her cousin. Fareeda moved to Lucknow shortly after Dev and Sonakshi's wedding. Ishwari tried her best to keep Fareeda in Mumbai (what a turnaround?), but the self respecting Fareeda decided to keep her relationship with Fareeda cordial and warm by staying away from her.
Aadhya Dixit
Prithvi completed his MBA and now runs the family's software business. Dev is so busy with his music career, that he has no time or the desire to be a software manager again-it is too boring, he says! Prithvi is married to Pia, believe it or not! Susan dumped him for a Peter when Prithvi did not return that semester when he helped Dev become one with Rehaan.
Ishwari and Jay devote most of their time to charitable activities now. She still does a lot of pujas and fasts, but does not force her wishes on anyone else. She is a well respected woman in the society; even her sons admire her for changing so much and helping the poor and needy, irrespective of their religion, caste or social stature.
Iqbal and Razia are married and still work at Jay's company, but use their real names rather than Vicky and Elena.
And finally, our adorable couple, Samaira and Rajeev have spent the five years since their marriage, traveling all over the world. Samaira's restless nature loves this jet-set life style. When they are in Mumbai, Samaira spends a lot of time with her niece, Aadhya. Rajeev is still head over heels in love with his 'superwoman.' Samaira has also fallen in love with her superhero, but in a small corner of her heart, still remembers her first crush, Dev, now her favourite 'jiju.'
Aadhya adores her maasi, Samaira, as she gives her complete freedom to do what she wants.
"Jiju aur tum aaj baahar jao....main Aadhya ko baby sit karoongi," Samaira insisted one evening.
"Ek condition par....tu Aadhya ko time se khaana khilaayegi, bilkul TV nahin dikaayegi, kuch junk nahin khilaayegi, aur time par sula degi....theek hai?" Sonakshi ordered.
"Yes ma'am! I am so glad you are not my mom! Kitni strict hai tu!" Samaira made a face and sympathized with Aadhya.
"Jab tera baby hoga na, main bhi usse bigaad doongi....tab tujhey naani yaad aayegi!" Sonakshi clenched her teeth.
"Tu aur mere baby ko bigaadegi? I don't believe it......mera baby shayad tujhe badmaash banaa de....itni seedhi saadhi maasi milegi meri baby ko," Samaira giggled
"Challenge?" Sonakshi asked
"Yes, challenge!" Samaira teased Sonakshi.
So, Dev and Sonakshi went out on a date. Rajeev had work in the clinic, so it was Samaira and Aadhya all alone at home.
"Chal Aadhya.....TV par Spiderman dekhte hain....lekin pehle yeh milk pee lo," Samaira gave Aadhya a cup of milk as was instructed by her sister.
"YUCK!! Mujhey doodh nahin peena maasi," Aadhya protested.
Samaira grinned, "jaanti hoon.....even I hate milk......accha idhar la milk," she poured the milk out in the sink and filled the cup with coke, "yeh le....isse pee jaa, aur mamma jab poonche toh kya kahegi?"
"Yahi ki Samaira maasi is the best! Unhone mujhey doodh nahin, coke de di," Aadhya said innocently.
"Hey Bhagwaan! Marwaaegi kya mujhey?? Nahin kehna ki doodh pee liya maine....good girl ki tarah..OK?" Samaira gave Aadhya a stern look, "aur kehna ki main doodh peekar bahut strong girl ban jaaoongi."
"Theek hai maasi!" Aadhya gulped down her coke, 'chalo ab Spiderman dekhte hain."
Samaira and Aadhya cuddled up in front of the TV and watched the movie intently. Aadhya would hide her face during the scary parts. Samaira consoled her with a big bag of candy, "yeh le....chocolate khaaegi toh darr bhaag jaayega tera!" So, Aadhya filled her tummy with cookies and chocolate that evening.
After the movie, Samaira put on some pop music and the girls danced away like there was no tomorrow. Rajeev came in later and joined the girls. The three of them had a blast dancing and listening to music. As you can imagine, a sleep deprived, coke and junk infested Aadhya was miss hyper that evening! Dev and Sonakshi came back after a wonderful and romantic evening. As soon as Samaira heard the front door unlatching, she tucked Aadhya in bed and shushed her, "chup chaap so jaa ab Aadhya....maasi aur mausa ab jaa rahe hain...mamma, papa aa gaye hain."
"Goodnight maasi...Goodnight mausa!" Aadhya gave a slobbery kiss to her favorite aunt and uncle, "kal phir baby sit karna mujhe."
Samaira and Rajeev bid goodnight to Dev and Sonakshi and left for their late night romantic drive.
Sonakshi put her arms around Dev, "We are so lucky that we have Samaira and Rajeev in our lives...kitna pyaar karte hain Aadhya se."
Dev was in an unusually romantic mood, as was generally the case with him, "mmmm.....I know...par....aaj raat sirf main aur tum.....just like the first time we met at this beach house," he carried her in his arms to the bedroom. But suddenly, they heard something crashing and breaking in the next room.
They ran to Aadhya's room and were scared to see the room in shambles!
"Aadhya kahan hai?" Sonakshi got frightened, "kahin koi le toh nahin gaya usse...!" Sonakshi started sobbing.
Dev looked under the bed, in the bathroom, under the curtains, but there was no sign of Aadhya. The posters and pictures from the walls were all on the floor, Aadhya's stuffed animals and toys were all scattered everywhere. Even Dev was nervous now, "Aadhya! Aadhya!" he yelled.
They finally heard the sound of tiny hands clapping. Dev and Sonakshi looked up and saw a giggling Aadhya sitting on the ceiling fan blade!
Aadhya's parents gasped in horror, "HOW DID YOU GET THERE?" Dev and Sonakshi asked simultaneously.
"Main Spiderman ki tarah wall se chhad kar aa gayi!" Aadhya clapped and cheered again.
Sonakshi clenched her teeth and fists, "iss Samaira ki bacchi ko main aisa sabak sikhaoongi ki wo poori zindagi yaad rakhegi!"
Dev carefully brought his little girl down from the fan and hugged her, "beta aisa nahin karte.....kahin aapko chhot lag jaati toh papa ka kya haal hota?"
Aadhya got down from his arms and hugged Sonakshi, "mamma.....Samaira maasi kehti hain ki main coke aur chocolate.....oops.....doodh peekar bahut strong ban gayi hoon.....tabhie toh fan tak pahunch gayi."
Sonakshi picked Aadhya in her arms, "aur kya kaha teri Samaira maasi ne?" she asked affectionately
"Yahi ki mamma ko kuch mat bataana warna aap usse maarengi....nahin maaregi na aap Samaira maasi ko? Wo bahut acchi hain...please mamma...promise kariye," Aadhya kissed her mom.
"Nahin maarongi baba.... Samaira maasi jaisi iss duniya mein aur koi nahin hai," Sonakshi lay down with her daughter and was fast asleep. A tired Dev tucked in the sheets next to Sonakshi and fell asleep too as a wide eyed Aadhya stayed up all night dreaming about Spiderman!
****************************
A few weeks later, Samaira announced that she was expecting her first child. Sonakshi took great care of her younger sister throughout her pregnancy. She made sure Samaira ate and rested well throughout. Aadhya was excited as she would have a little cousin to play with.
Finally, in the seventh month, Samaira went into labor. Rajeev, the Mr Cool Doctor panicked to see his delicate little wife screaming in pain. His hands trembled as he picked the phone, "Sonakshi! Sonakshi...please jaldi aao....I don't know why Samaira is screaming so loudly.....abhi toh sirf 7 mahine huye hain."
"Dr jiju.....aapne premature labour ke baare mein nahin suna kya?" Sonakshi asked calmly
"Oh crap! I know...I know....Samaira ke dard ke saamne main sab kuch bhool gaya....please meet us at the hospital....Samaira and I really need you," Rajeev hung up in panic. He took a deep breath and carried Samaira to the car, "tum bohot moti ho gayi ho Samaira.....kya khaati ho aaj kal?" he teased her as they walked out to the car.
Samaira hit his arm, "superhero ka bachha koi halka phulka toh hoga nahin!"
"Trust me Samaira...you are the biggest pregnant woman I have ever seen," Rajeev giggled.
"May be the baby has multiplied inside!" she said angrily.
"Yeah right! Yeh kyun nahin kehti apni behen ka banaaya huya khaana khaa khaakar moti ho gayi ho!" he laughed.
Samaira glared at him. Rajeev gave her a sweet peck on her lips, "But you are still very cute!" he placed her on the back seat and drove to the hospital like a maniac.
Dev and Sonakshi met them at the hospital. They left Aadhya with Ishwari and called Asha and Bijoy too. Samaira was wheeled into the operating room as it was obvious they would have to do a C-section at this early stage. Dr Rajeev Chopra was the most nervous man on the planet that evening. He paced up and down and chewed his nails down to their nail plates. Dev tried to calm him down, "relax Doctor.....delivering a baby is like a piece of cake.....I know all about having babies.....chill man!"
Sonakshi gave a dirty look at Dev, "how do you know delivering a baby is a piece of cake? Khud toh tum behosh ho gaye the Aadhya ki delivery ke time!"
A sheepish Dev just looked away, "chalo Rajeev....let's go and get some fresh air.....warna yahan cake toh kya, pastry bhi nahin milega."
******************
The doctor came out after the surgery, "congratulations Dr Chopra.....you are the proud father of two little girls!"
"TWO!!!!" Rajeev, Dev, Sonakshi, Asha and Bijoy all exclaimed together.
"Lekin humein pehle toh kuch nahin pataa tha," Rajeev asked curiously.
"Miracles do happen....or maybe we missed the other one on the ultrasound," the doctor shrugged his shoulders.
The whole family rejoiced and welcomed the cute little girls to the family. Rajeev held the two little bundles in his strong arms and had tears of joy. He sat down next to Samaira and smiled, "how are you sweety? You were right.....the baby multiplied on the way to the hospital."
Samaira's twinnies
Samaira was exhausted after the delivery; she could not believe that she had just delivered twin girls! She held them one by one and hugged them closely, "thanks Rajeev....we just need nine more and we will have our own cricket team!"
Everyone laughed as Rajeev's jaw dropped to his knees, "kya kaha tumne?Nine more?" Rajeev fainted at the thought of having nine more babies.
Dev helped Rajeev back on his feet and took him out of the room.
Sonakshi laughed, "bechare Dr jiju ko darra diya tune....you are something Samaira."
"He deserves this.....he was making fun of my weight," Samaira laughed, "accha Sonakshi.....please iss ko milk pila de," she handed one of her little bundles to her sister.
"SURE!" Sonakshi gave her a mischievous look, "mamma.....zara wahan se Vodka ki bottle toh dena.....I have a special one for my niece!"
Samaira was stunned, "NO WAY!"
Sonakshi winked at Samaira and said, "chill sweety...it's payback time.....and two times over."
.......THE END......
The nok-jhonk between the sisters will keep going on and on. I am going to finish right here; you guys can just imagine the racket in Samaira's house as her two girls were full on nautanki just like their mom.
So, did they all live happily after all? Of course they did, if you ignore the numerous confusions and mix ups which continued to be a part of life for anyone related to Samaira and Sonakshi!
I appreciate all the readers who read this story. This story was very different from all my previous stories; I hope I succeeded in entertaining at least some of you. I have to admit that this was one of the most challenging fan-fics for me due to the four characters. I had to constantly juggle them in my mind, imagining confusing scenarios and at the same time trying to avoid some serious bloopers. I am sure there were a lot of bloopers but you guys were kind enough to forgive them.
The love between the sisters, Samaira and Sonakshi was also very pure and self less. They both cherished their love and relationship with each other more than their love for the man in their lives. I am sure there are people like Samaira in the world, who are truly selfless in their love for their loved ones and keep a positive outlook in life. Instead of becoming depressed and hating her sister for snatching her first love, she decided to help her sister unite with her love and moved on with her life with a man who was crazy about her.
Lastly, I have heard that a woman should always marry a man who loves her more than she might love him.... This is what Samaira did and she had no regrets!!
Maybe we can try that too....😉😉
See you all in JTYJN, which hasnt been updated since long and maybe SLY too
