Since their comm system was well-labeled, Seonghwa's team figured out how to set it to play to the whole building. They also used the security cameras to check for survivors in other parts of the building, finding many groups hidden away throughout the front half of the building.

They were ecstatic to find so many survivors after seeing the number of people who'd suffered.

They weren't alone. They weren't alone at all.

Thankfully, the entrance to the staircases was right by the doors into the lobby so both the fans and idols would be quite close. Knowing this, they decided it was time to make an announcement.

After a group discussion, it was decided that Jongho should speak to everyone.

He walked up to the microphone, taking a deep breath before turning it on.

"Hello everyone. This is Choi Jongho speaking. We want you all to know that you're not alone. And help is coming. We've arranged for a jet to meet us on top of the auditorium at midnight. We want to make sure that all of you make it to safety so we will be coming to find you, helping you make it to the stairwells until everyone has gone up to safety. We will be heading out at 10."

Jongho paused, not sure if he had anything more to say. San leaned in.

"Just hold on. We're going to get you guys out of here," he said firmly.

Wooyoung put a hand on his back, rubbing it softly.

They each stepped back moving to sit down while they waited for the time to pass. But Kyungsoon stood, approaching the mic.

"Saem, if you're still out there, I need you to know that your big sister is okay. I'm okay, Saem. I'm gonna find you, okay?"

Kyungsoon let go of the comm, breaking into tears and all of the members couldn't do anything but stare.

This whole time...

She had a little brother out there.

"Kyungsoon...you could've said something-we would've asked the others to look for him," Wooyoung whispered.

"I didn't want to burden you...I already caused so many problems," she whispered.

Wooyoung bit his lip, knowing he was the one who'd yelled at her the most.

San stepped away, walking over to offer her a hug. He hesitated a moment to make sure she was comfortable before pulling her into a tight embrace.

"We're not leaving here until we find him, okay?" he said, rubbing her back.

She nodded, trying not to cry into his sweater.

Changbin approached Wooyoung, crossing his arms as he leaned back against the wall.

"What happened on the way here? Because there were a shit ton of zombies," he said, turning to meet Wooyoung's eyes.

Wooyoung looked at his hands.

"We were trying to figure out how to contact the other control room and Kyungsoon remembered which button her group had pressed. But I questioned her and she doubted herself...so she pressed a different button. And that one opened the doors to the lobby."

Changbin nodded slowly, feeling a spark of anger rise in him but he pushed it down. That was the reason he hadn't been able to protect both Yeosang and Felix.

"I'm sorry...it's my fault..." Wooyoung started but Changbin stopped him.

"No. It's not. I'm the only one who should be apologizing."

Wooyoung turned towards him.

"For what?"

"For leaving Yeosang alone."

Wooyoung's eyes widened.

"Wai-you did what!?" he asked, his voice rising.

"Felix was trying to escape the zombies by dragging himself across the ground and I knew he wasn't going to make it. But I ran after him anyways and pulled him to safety. But in doing so..."

Wooyoung's jaw tensed but Changbin could see he was trying not to be upset.

"It's okay to be mad at me. You can trust that I hate myself more than you ever could. The whole time...I knew I should've tried to save the one person who wasn't bitten. It was an obvious choice. I let Felix cloud my judgement..."

Changbin felt a tear fall from his eye and quickly wiped it away. Wooyoung's anger fell. He pulled Changbin to his chest, holding onto his broad shoulder tightly.

"This apocalypse has made us all shitty people. We can't treat this like a normal situation. We did the best we could. And we fucked up. But we tried."

"This whole thing is like some fucked up judgement day where the saints are taken out of their misery and the sinners are left to suffer," Changbin whispered, more tears spilling from his eyes. He gripped Wooyoung tight.

They held each other in silence for a moment, just breathing.

"I really miss him, Woo," he whispered.

Wooyoung just held onto him, nodding. He didn't know what to say. He couldn't imagine what it felt like. To lose someone so special. If anything happened to San...

Changbin pulled back, smiling sadly as he looked down at his feet. Wooyoung put a hand on his cheek, causing him to meet his eyes.

"Hey. We're getting out of here. Okay?"

Changbin nodded, his smile sliding up one cheek.

Changbin walked away, going to stand by himself. He looked up to see San walking away from Kyungsoon and their eyes met. He gave a soft smile, expecting San to walk back over to Wooyoung, but instead, he started coming towards him.

"Hey, Changbin. I wanted to talk to you about, Woo."

Changbin nodded, taking a seat as San stood beside him.

"Is something up? Did something happen between you two?" Changbin asked, looking up at him with concerned eyes.

San shook his head with a smile.

"No, of course not. It's just about...getting out of here. I need you to make sure Wooyoung leaves this place alive."

Changbin raised his eyebrows in concern, tilting his head.

"Of course but-I'm sure he'll be able to take care of himself. And if not-you'll be there for him, won't you?"

San looked back at Kyungsoon.

"San?"

He finally turned back to Changbin.

"Yeah, yeah. Of course. But...I need to help as many fans as I can. I just...I couldn't live with myself if I knew that I got out of here safe and sound just because I was an idol. They're no different than us. And we have the weapons to help them. So I'm not heading to the roof until I'm sure we have everyone. I need you to make sure Wooyoung gets there long before that. Don't let him wait for me. If I don't come, you need to take everyone and leave. Okay?"

Changbin didn't know what to say. It was such a heavy responsibility. Especially for someone who'd lost two members of his team and almost let the third get killed. He wasn't sure he was the person to tell.

"San...we all feel horrible about it but...it's a zombie apocalypse. It's okay to save yourself first."

"I know, I know. I just-after seeing all of the fans in that auditorium..."

Changbin felt his fist tighten, knowing he'd had to face them head on. But to him, they weren't people anymore. After seeing them attack his members, they didn't feel like people anymore.

"I get it. I do. But I don't know if I can stop Woo if he tries to go after you. There's no way he's letting the plane leave without you."

San looked over at Wooyoung who had taken his place, apologizing to Kyungsoon.

"I know. It's not an easy task. But I need you to do it. Just in case...in case something happens to me."

Changbin nodded but crossed his arms.

"Okay, but I won't have to because you're not going to try to be a martyr. Help as many people as you can but if it's too much, you come right back and get your ass on that plane."

San laughed and nodded.

"Okay," he smiled.

Changbin kept a serious expression.

He didn't want to put Wooyoung in the same situation as him. He knew what it felt like. They weren't leaving without San.

If he had to find his corpse and drag it back, he would. At least then Wooyoung could have something to mourn.

All Changbin had were a few scratches.
