Judgement

Everyday we judge people by what we hear and how they look.

I try not to judge, but instead I try to get to know the person myself.

My family judged my brother for smoking weed and assumed that he was a selfish addict that will achieve nothing in life.

Instead of judging my brother, I got to know him. My brother is not a selfish addict, but a caring person that spends his hard working money on gifts for the family he loves and he achieved his dream of being a mechanic.

People judge my cousin for ditching school a lot and they assume he's spending his time smoking and drinking.

Instead of judging my cousin I got to know him. He is not a delinquent, but a hard working boy, getting money to help support his single mom and three little brothers. He is sacrificing his future so his brothers can have a better one.

There was a girl that everyone hated, I don't why, they just did. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon I got to know her. It turned out she was a damaged girl and I had to stop her from cutting herself. If it wasn't for her I would have never discover my love for writing fiction.

One day there was a new student came to my school. Because of his interest in the military everyone made fun of him and called him a school shooter.

Instead of judging like the rest, I got to know him. It turned out we had a lot in common and he became one of my closest friends.

One day during lunch I met a girl. She was a religious girl, she practiced both Christianity and the Muslim tradition. Me being an atheist I could have easily judged her as a religious nutcase.

But instead of judging her, I talked to her. I got to know her likes and dislikes, her ethnic background, and now I can't stop thinking about her.

If people were to stop judging others, the world would become more prosperous than one could ever imagine.
