CHAPTER ONE:

"and we meet again"

                PAISLEY STOOD WITH SUKI AND the other girls at sukis car before tej came out of his garage. "alright, alright, fire 'em up!" he exclaimed raising his hands up. "we go live in five!" he exclaimed to receive people whooing in the crowd.

suki walked up to her car with a hand towel in her hand wiping the side, "alright, ladies! we're good." she called out, "we're good."

paisley zoned out as she leaned against the front of sukis car. "you cats are first wave. where's your fourth at?" tej asked, "it was joaquin, but he had to work the graveyard shift." slap jack spoke up. "what? graveyard shift, man." tej said. "why don't you run with us, pai?" slap jack said turning to her.

"i would, jacky boy. but my cars back in the shop i rode here with suki." she replied. "i tell you, either find a fourth or you don't race." tej spoke. "how about that?" he continued. "we should find two, so we don't have to roll with skirt here." julius spoke up, he earned a glare from both suki and paisley.

"whoa, wait a second. why don't i find you a fourth and we settle this on the streets?" tej asked, he then looked at paisley, he knew what he was doing. she sighed before looking away from tej knowing exactly who he was gonna pick.

"bring him on." suki stated. "anybody i want?" tej questioned, "no matter who it is?" he continued. "yeah." slap jack said all of them didn't care.

tej pulled his phone out before dialing a number. if paisley rode in her car she'd be out of that place knowing who it is that was bound to come.

paisley wore a black belted low waist mini cargo skirt, with a blue and red cropped tank top, it was a matching shirt with suki but in different colors, and a black bomber jacket with a pair of blue converse, her hair laid on her back curled while she had her normal jewelry on.

"the race starts in four minutes." tej called out. everyone exclaimed in excitement. "alright, girls, let's do this." suki exclaimed before putting her fist out, and all the girls chanted before clapping. suki put her arm around paisleys shoulder as they leaned against sukis car. "there's our fourth." tej said, paisley turned to the fourth her heart race went up.

she had only seen brian five times since they had been in miami, and everytime she did she left. but this time she was stuck. "shit. it's brian." suki said before looking at paisley. paisley slipped her thumbs into her belt loops while staring down brian's car as people clapped for him.

he lined up next to julius. suki was now fully standing, paisley still leaned against sukis car, brian stepped out of his car before shaking someone's hand.

a cheeky smile was upon his face. paisley couldn't help but to still have hard feelings for him but she still hated his guts. he walked up to tej, "what's up, tej?" brian asked, "what's happening, dude?" tej replied. they fist bumped before brian spoke up again. "thanks for the invite." brian thanked, "no problem at all, man." tej stated. "just remember me when you wax, alright?"

brian turned back at the racers, he caught a glimpse of paisley who was glaring daggers at tej. brian had this laugh being held back. "paisley wants to kill you." he stated turning to tej with a smile. "i did it for you bro, suki and i already have a plan." tej replied earning a confused look from brian. "they got deep pockets?" brian asked changing the subject.

"real deep." tej said with a chuckle. brian turned back around revealing him fully, paisley sighed before looking down at her converse, "what's up, suki?" he asked, "paisley." he nodded. "what's up, bullet?" suki replied, "buster." paisley replied with her little nickname the team had gave him a year ago, the only reason she replied was because both brian and paisley were well known in the street racing so they had to seem mutual or people would ask questions.

"what do you say we kick it a nickel?" brian asked the racers, "nobody mentioned raising stakes." julius replied holding his hand up. brian looked at tej with a smirk before looking back at julius walking closer, "if that's the case, ask these nice people," brian said looking at the people that surrounded the racers, "to back off the line so you can go home." he continued making paisley snicker at his comment.

people oohed at his comment, paisley looked back up at brian who was smiling proudly she couldn't help but hold back a smile. the one thing she could never hate about him was his eyes and smile.

she'd get trapped in them if she let herself but that's why she always left. but now she couldn't. tej walked closer to brian and julius. his arms folded over his chest. "okay. $3,500." julius agreed. "okay bet." brian replied placing the cash in tej's hand. paisley got off of sukis car, her hands still in the belt loops causing her skirt to come a little lower.

"$3,500?" jack asked tej in disbelief. "either that or you can go home, bruh." tej replied before stretching his hand out, jack sighed before placing the cash in his hand.

as suki walked over to get in her car paisley leaned down, "good luck. make those boys bend over as you beat their asses." paisley said with a smirk. tej approached the car, he placed his hand on paisleys lower back in a friendly way nothing more. "alright pai, time to separate with your soul sister." tej said jokingly, paisley stood up straight looking at tej a laugh escaped her lungs.

"alright, alright! i'll move, just saying i have all faith in my girl suki over here." paisley said earning an eyebrow raise from tej, "we all know bullet will win." tej said, "alright we'll see. 1 grand on the bet?" she asked, "alright." tej said holding $1,000 out of his wallet. paisley did too.

as she turned around a smile was on her face, brian admired her, he looked back at her catching her attention, her smile fell, but as soon as she moved away he seen another woman. that made his smile fall this time. brian got into his car ready, he still kept his eyes on the women, he then looked back at paisley who was scanning over the cars and the drivers, and as she got to brian's they held eye contact for a maximum seven seconds it beat the record.

"alright, alright, back up. let's go." tej told the crowd. "back yall asses up!" he shouted as brian let flames come out of his car. "back up before you turn into barbecue around here." tej said. "it's not a game. this is serious. alright, back up. get off the street. let's go." paisley now stood by tej on the side of the road. "back it up. everybody keep your heads real clear, alright? 'cause i got a surprise for y'all this evening."

tej looked at paisley, she would be the one to say the go anytime she couldn't race he had her be apart of it somehow. "ready?" tej asked the drivers as they revved their engines.

paisley signaled a go, following it with an exclaimed "go!" and with that their tires screeched and left trail marks. paisley watched as suki was losing. "shit." she muttered. "get that money ready, pai." tej picked on her. "shut up." she said with a laugh as she watched the racers get even more distant. "brian, isn't winning either so i don't know what your on buddy." paisley stated.

"but he's beating suki right?" he said with a smirk looking down at paisley. "alright, alright. you're winning so far." paisley said in defeat a chuckle left tej's lips, "so are you ever gonna forgive my boy?" tej asked. paisley looked at tej her eyebrows raised, "you know the rule, tej." she pointed out before looking into the distance.

"come on pai, you can't hate him forever." tej said trying to help out brian. "i can hate whoever i want. and like i said a million times before. i. don't. hate. brian." she stated emphasizing her words, tej laughed at paisley. she hated talking about hers and brian's relationship.

"i know you, pai." he said simply. "alright." she responded dryly. after a while of waiting paisley and tej led the group forwards, "yo, jimmy, hit it, baby!" tej exclaimed through a walki-talki. "alright. y'all see that?" tej asked as they seen the bridge rise. "damn, tej." paisley commented impressed. "i told yall i had a surprise." tej replied. "how you like that for a final?" he asked, paisley turned to him and the two fist bumped.

both brian and jack flew over the bridge but brian was flying above jack. "damn." paisley muttered. she ruffled into her jacket pulling out 1g. jack lost control of his car as brian sped towards the crowd. paisley watched as suki slammed against the road. "shit." she mumbled.

brian came driving up to everyone making everyone move out of the way. tej looked at paisley holding his hand out, she placed the money in his hand brian watched the two with a smirk. tej looked back at brian with a smirk as he held the cash up. paisley rolled her eyes at them as suki pulled up. "damn, suki." paisley muttered seeing her messed up car.

"yes!" she exclaimed considering she came in second place, "hey i was close." paisley said using her fingers as how close she was. "mhm." tej said jokingly, brian stepped out of his car he looked back at suki, the two nodded at each other. brian cheekily smiled which made paisley smile slightly at him without noticing.

brian's eyes trailed along paisley as she walked up to him. "good job, buster." she said before walking away, his eyes still trailed along her while biting his lip as she walked up to suki. "i saw that, man." tej said to brian, he then turned to the crowd, "bullet and suki sprayed the bridge." tej stated before pulling the cash out.

"damn, sis. i just lost 1 grand on your ass." paisley said checking sukis car out. "again? you know i can't beat, bullet." suki replied to paisley. "hey, i know but i gotta have some faith in you, girl." paisley replied before laughing slightly as she seen tej held up the money that brian gave him as a cut. "right. y'all see this? everybody take a good look." tej stated, "this is what you call mutual respect. alright, let's clear out." tej said.

"alright, i'll be back, sis." paisley said to suki before walking off. she inhaled a deep breath, tej had a point she couldn't hate brian forever. she watched as he cleared through the crowd to get to her. paisley smirked at him before going to walk away she regretted approaching him. "where are you going?" he asked. "it's time to get out of here, buster." she replied turning to him.

a smirk placed across his face. "why is that?" he asked, the sound of sirens started ringing throughout the air. "shit." paisley muttered. she seen as suki drove off. "damn it!" she exclaimed, "come on, paisley." brian said grabbing her wrist lightly pulling her away.

the two hurried and got into his car. brian sped down the street. "once the cops clear drop me off at the side of the road, i can't risk it." paisley told brian. he looked at paisley his features softened at the sight of her. last time they had rode in the same car was back in california.

as they pulled out the lot there was a cop car infront of them, brian swerved, as the cop crashed he chuckled, paisley looked terrified as they rounded the corner. "shit, brian." paisley said her heart race going up. brian gulped. "run, i'll distract them." he said. "be careful, buster." she said before running out of the car. brian drove off just to get stopped.

paisley ran as the cop that crashed his car ran after her, "toretto! stop right there!" he yelled. paisley ran out into the street, suki pulled up in front of her. "get in, sis!" she called out. paisley jumped in and as they sped off the cop shot at them, but he gave up after they were down the street.

"damn it, suki!" paisley exclaimed. "what?" suki asked, "you ditched me!" paisley responded, "hey, tej told me to. he said that you were supposed to go home with bullet tonight." suki said just as confused. "you guys gotta quit this shit. i am done with brian." she stated before leaning back into the seat. "i'm sorry, sis." suki apologized. "it's fine, suk. i just wanna go home." paisley responded putting her hand on her forehead.

"alright." suki said before they drove off to their apartment.
