JourneyToWattpad

So basically this is an extended profile of myself. I guess I like talking about myself.

Well, I really like stories, but I get bored easily. I find when I got to movies or watching a TV show, I am almost always right at deciphering clues (sometimes subconciously) and figuring out the ending. I love "calling it." However, with my supernatural ability comes with a price: I get bored watching sometimes. I find that sometimes it is so easy to figure things out sometimes, that it's not even worth watching reading anymore.

My first fanfiction i wrote is the "A Pokemon Tale" series. basically just a retelling of red/blue that I started during my junior year in high school. It's not very good (well, part 1 isn't but the two sequels are decent). But again, I was satisfying my urge to tell a story with relatively the same cliche plot devices that almost everyone else on here uses (with the exception of a few, great authors).

In the past year, I have become OBSESSED with "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George RR Martin (the Game of Thrones series). I could never figure this series out. Surprises hit me from out of left field and even from behind the catcher's mitt sometimes. I'm re-reading them even now.

From reading these books by such a great author, it made me want to write a different kind of story. Sure, I modelled "Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas" off of a midieval fantasy world, you might say. That's just a side effect. I modelled my favorite story I have written so far off of the unexpectedness of that story. The way it hits you in the side, good or bad. The way the chapters end on a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.

For the first time, I started writing my fanfics based off of what I would like to experience as a reader. Suspense. Actual suspense, nothing like "and he was down to his last Pokemon, but he swept Lance in the Pokemon League with 6 straight critical hits after that." Realistic suspense. I gave characters separate motivations, threw them into a story, and I would say its as if I'm watching them play out a story. It's entertaining for me to write about what's happening to them, and above all, its even more entertaining to watch MY READERS find out what they're up to.

I'm impatient. I had planned on writing a bunch of chapters for "Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas"'s sequel, and then uploaded eight to ten of them on New Years Day, but the suspense was killing me. Yes, it was killing me, the author. I had two chapters already written, and no one to read or tell me what they thought about them. How it made them feel. How they connect to the characters.

so I uploaded it early, to keep sharing with them. After all, the votes and especially your awesome comments are what keep me writing, sometimes two chapters in a single day.

It was a last minute flurry of motivation that led me to enter my newly-completed baby "Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas" into the Pokemon Watty Awards in 2014. At first, I thought I had rushed it. But somehow, the judges thought it was the best in Miscellaneous when the results were revealed. (i would have loved to have read a review by them about it, though). I was incredibly honored. RiverIvy's "the secret of Absol" came in second, and I'm reading it now. If you're reading my stupid "Journey to Wattpad", drop it and go read her book too. NOW. Anyways, for the first time, I felt like my writing had actually accomplished something.

I met some awesome people here on Wattpad.

The aforementioned RiverIvy, who took the time to read, comment, vote, and review my book so that other people might come read it as well. She constantly keeps up with my updates. Always commenting, letting my know how she feels about the story... It's like I'm experimenting on her almost hehehe.

Vespin is writing and concluding his story called "The Golden Throne," an awesome fanfiction in a brand-new invented region. The plot twists were awesome, and the danger was real, and I'm relishing every second of it, constantly checking back for updates. Look for us to collaberate in the future on a kind of a cross-over BUT well, I've said too much already. ;) Update faster, bro, I need more.

TrainerAsh0 is my super buddy. This guy keeps up with my story religiously, and I his. He came here to Wattpad a little raw, especially in the dialogue department (but then again, hadn't we all?). It's made me really proud to see him updating and growing as a story teller. I can't thank him enough for advertising "Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas" on his FB fan pages (Hoenn and Johto). I don't know how many new readers I got because of it, but I'm sure I got some. But even if i didn't, and you're reading this, you're a great friend, dude!

Lastly, but kinda firstly too (chronologically), is Serena-Daniels. I can't say enough about her. She was my first wattpad friend, the first person to message me back and promise to read my books (still waiting, though patiently :P). She showed me the ropes about how to connect with people on wattpad, as well as connecting me with some of her own readers. I wouldn't have launched to where I am today on this site if it wasn't for her. her book "the things that define us" is the best Romantic OC/gold/silver story that could be out there (not to mention a fun and hilarious read).

I hope that if you came here expecting to read My (PokeBroncoFan's) Journey to Wattpad, that you will take the time to check out these other people too. After all, we're a great community of Pokemon Fanfiction Writers (and sometimes other stuff), and I'm all about getting people connected.

Oh yeah, I'm always welcome for anybody to message me if they want me to read their story. I know how it is too, to try and get reads and meaningful comments. Don't be shy! I might be busy sometimes, but I will actually make an honeset effort to read it. (cough, if you read and vote and comment on Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas, you might magically move up my list, cough).

Thanks to Vespin for nominating me! This was actually a lot more fun than I thought. and one last thing.

GO BRONCOS!
