Adventure. It's something that no creature can resist. By either by its own curiosity or the need to explore or maybe their searching for something bigger than themselves in this world. And it doesn't matter what race they are. Human, Timelord, Robot, Talking Mushroom People, you name it. Everything craves adventure.... or food, but that's a whole different story.

Anyways, adventurers are always drawn to the mysterious call of Lady Exploration and now we meet our newest one yet....

(Y/N) (L/N) of Earth; Timeline 46, Universe 679

It was a cold, grey, cloudy Tuesday on Earth. Birds started making bigger nests, people who barely occupied sidewalks wore sweaters or jackets, and teens regrettably are walking to school. On one particular sidewalk was the protagonist of the story. (Y/N) (L/N). A normal human, you know, (H/C) (H/S), (S/C), (E/C) orbs. Nothing out of the ordinary like a kid raised by demon wolves, or a kid with a job of protecting time, or not even a chibi. No, this (boy/girl) was a regular human with no special abilities.

Which makes them perfect for gaining some!

(Y/N) stopped and looked around the sky. As if they were looking for something.... but shrugged it off and continued towards their school.

(Y/N) View

"Would anyone like to guess how diamonds are formed?" My homeroom teacher asked the class.

Only few raised their hands to answer, either to not knowing the answer or not caring. I was part of... not caring.

Today was one of those days where the weather effected your mood. I mean, look at those dark grey cotton balls in the sky, who wouldn't feel tired? But that means another slow day of trying to pay attention in class. I do try to pay attention to my teacher but it gets so boring after awhile and I end up doing something else. Like right now. Looking through the second story window from my classroom to the cloudy grey sky after it just rained, thinking about life, cause what else a high school kid gonna do? Learn?

3rd Person View

"Now who can tell me-" The bell went off signaling class, and school, was over. "Oh, I guess I missed timed that one. You are dismissed." Your teacher said as students poured out of the room.

Unknown to (Y/N) that the bell went off, you stayed at your desk, staring out the window. Everyone soon left the room, including the teacher, leaving just you.... and a girl.

"(Y/N)?" The girl asked as she approached your desk.

The voice came from a girl with black hair, brown eyes and wore a red sweater and dark blue denim skirt

But (Y/N) continued to look out the window, wrapped in (his/her) own thoughts.

"(Y/N)?" She said again as she stood in front of you.

(Y/N) still didn't notice.

"(YYYYYY/NNNNNNNN)?" She waved her hand in front of your face.

Again no response.

"(Y/N)!" She shouted.

"Huh? Yeah?" (Y/N) asked as he jumped a little in his seat.

"Class is already over and all you've been doing is staring out the window." (F/N) said.

"Oh, sorry."

(Y/N) View

I got up from my desk and stretched my arms upward. I heard some pops in my back and it felt so good. I ran my fingers through my (H/C) hair and glanced around the room and saw that only (F/N) and I was the only here. Heck, even the teacher left.

"How long have you been waiting for me?" I ask as I turned to (F/N).

"Oh you mean how long you've been ignoring your bestie?" She says with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Not that long but you were really out of it."

"Again, sorry about that." I apologized.

"What was you thinking about anyways?" She asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing." I said sadly looking away from her.

"Oh really?" She raised an eyebrow with a small smirk forming.

"Yeah." I said half heartedly.

"Oh come on. I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything." She walked around me to look at me face to face.

"It's nothing." I tried to look away from her again but she cupped her hands on my face and made me face her.

"Tell me." She said slowly which made that cute look into one that I feared.

"Okay, okay." She let my face go and I sighed. "Do you ever feel that life is...boring?" I asked.

"Huh? Of course it is we have to go to school 5 days a week until college. Which is just more school but with drinking and frat parties." She answered.

"No. I mean everything is just boring. Wake up. Go to school. Go back home. Repeat."

"Wow. I wonder how your weekends sound like" She said sarcastically, probably to make a joke.

"Stay in bed." I say sadly. "I don't feel like the hero of my own story. I'm like on of those background characters that says something to the hero then disappears." (F/N) put her hand on my shoulder and looked at me with her kind eyes. She always gave me that look to make me happy. But it didn't work that well this time. I gave her a small fake smile.

"Come on. I need to get you home." I said and she nods.

Mini Timeskip

After gathering our things we started walking home from the school gates. The sun was beginning to set, giving off an orange light as we walked home.

"Are you sure you're okay?" (F/N) asked me again as we continued to walk.

"Yes." I answered.

"Really sure?" She asked.

"Really sure." I answered without looking at her.

There was a few moments of silence before she asked again.

"Positively sure?" She asked.

"Positively sure." I answered with an irk mark slowly appearing on my face.

"100 Perce-" She started but I cut her off by covering her mouth with my hand.

We was about halfway home, the point were it looks like the suburbs but we're still in a city. Houses lined up on both sides of the road with some alleyways between them.

(F/N) and I was totally silent probably because I didn't feel like talking and she respected that. Until...

"Uhh (Y/N)?" She froze into place and I end up passing her.

"Yeah?" I ask.

I turned around to see that (F/N) had a completely shocked look on her face. She was looking to her left and was staring down an alleyway.

"(F/N) what's wrong?" I asked her in a concerned tone.

I walk over to her side to see what's she so shocked about. From the look on her face I thought that she was looking at a dead body, someone getting murdered, or anything else that involves death really. But when I looked down that alleyway I seen something completely different.

"What the...?"

In the middle of the alleyway was a levitating, glowing book that was flipping through pages without stop, giving off a golden light.

"What the heck is that?" I asked as I stared at it, not expecting to get an answer though.

"I'm gonna touch it." (F/N) said.

"What, are you stupid?!" I yelled at her.

"But it's so shiny!" She whined.

"Do you have a death wish? We don't even know what it is and you want to go touch it." I said.

"Maybe and it could be magic." She said.

"Magic doesn't exist." I retorted as I crossed my arms.

"Then tell me what is that then?" She pouted and pointed at the book.

Well yeah it does look like magic but should she really touch it though.

"I don't know, but you're not touching it." I look up at the sky, the sun is setting and it's going to get dark soon. I look back at her and she stills has that pouting face.

"I'm not leaving until I know what it is." She said as she starts walking towards it.

Why is she so stubborn?

I grabbed her arm and she stopped and looked at me over her shoulder.

"Look. There's no way I can get you to stop but let me go first. You're my best friend and I don't want to see you get hurt." I told her.

Or get super powers and annoy me for the rest of my life.

She sighed and nodded her head in defeat. I let go of her arm and she walked behind me.

As I'm now walking towards the book I start seeing glyphs of some sort starting to fly out of it. Like symbols in another language but I'm not sure. The book starts glowing brighter and brighter as I walk towards it. (F/N) is directly behind me clutching on my (F/C) shirt for dear life. I think she's probably scared...or she's using me as a shield. This was a horrible mistake isn't it?

I slowly reach for the book and I start hearing voices coming from all around me. Whispering into my ears. At First I thought it was (F/N) messing with me but she wouldn't say....

"Touch it...."

"Your destiny awaits...."

"Come, hero...."

"Journey of a lifetime...."

Maybe the first one to mess with me but definitely not the others.

I slowly grasp the book with my eyes closed. I don't know why. Thinking somehow closing my eyes will stop any pain that came my way. But nothing happened. I open one eye and look at my hand holding one if the sides of the book. I sigh in relief and I think I heard one from (F/N) too.

"That wasn't so..." I grab the other side of the book with my right hand and a vortex of pages came from the book. "...bad." (F/N) finishes her sentence.

The vortex shot up into the sky and pages from the book started flying out. Then the paper vortex surrounds me and (F/N). I frantically looked around to look for an opening to escape but there was so many pages I couldn't see through the vortex. Then it started closing in around us. (F/N) was screaming and I was paralyzed. I didn't know what to do and I was going to die because of (F/N)!

"(F/N) if we die I just saying this was your fault!" I shouted at her.

"I know! I'm sorry! We're probably going to die so I might as well say this now! I-"

Then a light bursts from under us blinding me. It was like an explosion. I start to lose consciousness and I only hear (F/N) calling out my name. Then everything went black.....

.....

"Welcome... Hero." A voice echoes within your mind. "Hmm... you seem to be in a state were you cannot respond in. I shall wait until you can."

.....

"Ugh my head." I groaned as I slowly woke up.

I slowly blink my eyes a few times, gaining my vision and saw that I was in a blank white room? I can't really tell, I can't see a ceiling or any walls of any sort. It just seemed like this place stretched out forever. A white void.

"You're finally awake!" I heard a familiar voice said from behind me.

I stood up and saw (F/N) running towards me. She tackled me into a hug almost knocking me down. I hugged her back immediately then she let go and gave me a worried look.

"That book knocked you out like Rocky. I couldn't wake you up and I didn't want to look around for help and accidentally lose you." She said.

"I'm fine now, don't worry." I took a look around the infinite white around us. "Can you guess where we are?"

"I don't know. It could be the inside your head. It seems to be empty in their most times." She said with a smirk.

(F/N) always fall back on humor when she's scared or nervous. So I can't be fully mad at her. Even though her fall back jokes are about me.

"Ha ha." I said sarcastically.

"But I don't know really." She said looking down.

I could tell her this was her fault that we're in the weirdest version of the afterlife but she already had a face that read 'this is my fault' already. I sighed.

"We'll get out of here. Don't you worry." I said with a smile.

She looked a little relived that I didn't yell at her or anything as her expression lightened up a bit. We started walking in some direction hoping in finding the exit.

"You finally awoken hero." A calm voice said. But it was strange though, well yeah other than the voice coming from nowhere. But I can't tell what the gender of the voice is. It's so calm and smooth it could a guy or a girl.

I looked around frantically to see where the voice originated. But saw nothing.

"I see that you brought along a friend. How lovely." The voice said.

"Where are we!? Where are you!?" I shouting while frantically looking around still.

"You are in....? Hmmm. How can I say this so you'll understand? You're in what you would call Limbo. Don't worry you're not dead. As for me I'm with you as we speak."

Me and (F/N) gave each other a look, as we both thought of the same thing but was a little scared to actually ask it.

"Can you show yourself?" (F/N) asked the voice.

"Of course." The voice answered.

A bright white (brighter than the white infinity around us) shined from above. (F/N) and I immediately had to shield our eyes from the bright light so we couldn't see whoever this voice was.

"Hello children." I heard the voice say.

As the light faded away I was able to look at the figure in front of me.... Which was a blue circle and was radiating an ocean blue like light. (F/N) and I looked at it in shock.

"(Y/N)?" (F/N) whispered to me.

"Yeah?" I whispered back as I was confused as all hell.

"Are we about to talk to a ring from Tron?" She whispered again.

I shrugged then asked the question. "Umm. What are you?"

"Well I'm not a throwing disc from an arcade game and it's movie adaptation that's for sure." It said, probably to (F/N). "I'm sorry, where are my manners. My name is Cy, I am the creator of the book you picked up, hero."

"Why do you keep saying hero and why are we here?" I asked.

"That's a simple question really. Very long ago I was once a human being just like the two of you. I had many adventures, in many worlds beyond imagination. And of course gotten into a pickle or two. But eventually I had to stop due to an accident that paralyzed me from the waist down. So I reflected on life. All the adventures, fights, relationships, friends, and adversaries I defeated. Upon reflecting I realized that adventurers need help starting out, and with my experience and knowledge I could teach many. With that said, I started writing book for future generations. Then I had the idea to find someone of adventurer material to become my apprentice. When I finished my book I was killed, long story, and I placed my soul within my book so I could help the future generation of hero. Whoever aquired the book would start their journey." Cy said.

"So you're telling me, if I touched that glowing book I would become some awesome hero?" (F/N) asked with a hint angry in her voice as she glared at me.

"No. The book only allows pure of heart. If you touched the book it would have....killed you." Cy said.

"But I am pure of heart!" She pouted.

"Didn't you shoplift that sweater you're wearing now." I said causing her to glare daggers at me.

"I will neither confirm or deny that."
She looked away from me with her arms crossed but then turn around with a confused look. "So why am I here?" (F/N) asked.

"Due to you being close to the opening that was created you were sucked in too. But everyone needs a friend by their side. Especially where you're friend is going." Cy explained.

"So let me get this straight. You're telling me that you're some dead adventurer that possessed a book to look for (Y/N)? No offense but (Y/N) isn't what you call a hero." (F/N) said.

I was about to say something to her but she was right. I'm not strong, smart, or anything that classifies as a heroic trait.

"But (Y/N) is a hero deep down. S/he just needs to prove that to himself/herself." Cy said.

"Do you really think so?" I asked.

"Yes, now we're going to go somewhere more comfortable for you two." Cy said before a door appeared a few feet away from us. "This way."

The door opened and again more white light shined out of it. Why is there so much white lights? Cy then floated straight through the door and disappeared into that blinding light.

"Are you sure we should trust him? her? what ever that blue circle is?" (F/N) whisper yelled at me.

"We don't have a choice but just in case stay behind me." I told her.

I walked through the door and the light went away and I was confused at what I saw. I walked into what looked like the entrance to my house.

"Mom!? Dad?!" I called out.

No response. I took a few steps forward and immediately saw some major differences. My house is somewhat small. Small living room, small kitchen, and two bedrooms. But now it looked bigger and has stairs to the new 2nd floor. The small living room I that I used to have, had a couch, a coffee table, and a small TV.
Now there was a couple of couches, a slightly larger coffee table, and a flat-screen TV with a stand holding what looked like every single movie or show I could possibly think of. It even had anime. ANIME!

I heard (F/N) walk in behind me.
"Oh you redecorated. I don't like it." She said.

"I thought it would be easier if you had surroundings that you're familiar with." Cy floated next to me.

"Yeah, my house doesn't look completely like this but thank you so much!" I said while I was basically swimming in Anime.

"Why is everything better than (Y/N)'s house?" (F/N) asked.

"Because you won't be able to visit your real home for quite some time so I made an upgraded home for the two of you." Cy said.

I stopped for a second.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"We're going to places far beyond Earth and we might take a while to get back even if we tried to." Cy explained.

"Oh. Well okay. I guess." I said sadly.

My parents would be fine without me but they probably would think I died from not coming back home. I looked at (F/N) who looked fine. She basically lived on her own because she her parents wanted her to go to a good school but they lived in a different town. So they sent her here and she lived by herself. She saw me staring at her and gave me a nod to show that she was okay.

"I have one final question." I said

"Yes (Y/N)?"

"You keep saying we're going to have an adventure but I don't think I can do it." I told Cy.

"No need to worry young hero. You need to acquire the taste for adventure and you will in due time. And because you are the one who touched the book and was brought here you've gained a power that will help you where ever you go."

"Really?! What is it?" I asked excitedly.

"Every time you go to a new world you would gain new powers that's related to the world inhabitants." Cy said.

"Huh?" (F/N) and I say in unison.

"You'll see when we start, but for now you should get some rest. You two are going to a whole new world." Cy said.

Then Cy floats up the stairs out of sight.

"(F/N) are you okay with all this? I mean this is probably the weirdest day in my life." I asked.

"Yeah this extremely weird but we're going to travel to places we've never dreamed of." She said with sparkles in her eyes.

"But it's not like we're going to France or Ireland. There's probably going to be danger wherever we go must likely." I told her.

"I know but you're going to turn into some super-powered badass to protect me while I'm exploring." She says with an innocent smile. "I am your best friend after all."

"You're also the reason why we're here." -_-|| I said.

"Yeah, so you should be thanking me." She smiled.

"Wha-*sigh* I give up."

"Good now sit down and watch Attack on Titan with me." She said as she flopped on the couch.

I let out a long sigh before I sat down right next to (F/N) and watched Attack on Titan with her.

Mini Timeskip

After watching 6 episodes of AOT (Attack on Titan) I started to get curious about the new changes to my house. So I got up from the couch and startd looking around. I searched the first floor and found the kitchen, a bathroom, and a door that I've never seen before.

I peeked my head into the room and saw shelves lining up on the walls and chests taking up most of the room. I fully stepped inside and took a look at some of the things on the shelves. It was mainly pictures of places I've never seen before.....

And places I have seen before....

"Holy crap." I muttered to myself as I stared at the picture.

And someday I'm gonna get to go there....

I placed the picture back on the shelf then left the room. I came back into the living room, (F/N) was still watching Aot, and went upstairs. And when I did I was met with three doors. I peeked inside one room and saw it was my bedroom. And it looked exactly how I left it when I left it this morning.

So I'm guessing those other two rooms are for (F/N) and Cy then.

I walked out my room and to the top of the stairs. I could see (F/N) sitting on the couch and the TV from this angle.

"Hey I found the bedrooms." I said making (F/N) look up at me. She gave me a thumbs up and continued watching her show.

I just smiled and walked back into my room. I flopped into bed not caring that I was still dressed and fell asleep.

I hope I'm ready for tomorrow.....
